I'm getting >> There we go. >> You trying to fight? >> No. Come on. Let's go. >> She say no. Please, >> ma'am. Please. You're going to make it up. >> I'm going to pick up charges. Get out. [music] >> In retail security, overconfidence often leads to costly mistakes. Some believe they can simply push a full cart out unnoticed, but every attempt eventually fails, whether they flee or not, once the law catches up with them. There are the times when [music] woman thinks her full cart walk out went smoothly. Welcome to This is Law. Hit like and subscribe and never miss the most intense [music] police arrests and body cam moments. Starting with a woman who tried to use a language barrier to confuse the officer. in Arabic. Me everything in my Arabic. >> Stop. >> Don't touch. Don't touch. Please. Don't touch, please. 1 minute. >> On the 28th of March, 2026, officers were dispatched to the store after receiving reports that a woman previously caught shoplifting had returned. It was her second time attempting the same scheme at the store, but this time she wasn't able to walk away. >> Oh, hello, ma'am. We need to talk to you. I need you to come with me. No, I need you to come in the office. Okay. >> Okay. >> Leave the car. Leave the car. >> Go in the Go in the office, please. >> I need you to have a seat back here for me. >> Okay. No. Have a seat for me in the back. >> The back? >> No. Have a seat. >> Sit down. >> Yeah. >> Uh, sit down. >> Yeah. Do you have an ID on you? >> ID? >> Yeah. A driver's license. Something. >> What you need? >> H. >> What's your ID? >> I need your ID. >> You're being stopped with a suspicion retail f. >> What? >> Password retail f. >> They have your receipt. Okay. >> Okay, that's all I need. >> The investigation became more difficult as the suspect claimed she barely understood English and spoke only Arabic. In reality, she appeared to understand what the officers were saying. She continued denying everything. >> Do you understand English pretty well or no? >> No English. >> No English. >> Just a little bit. >> A little bit. >> Okay. So, so you're being stopped right now. You're technically detained, which means you're not free to leave. Okay. For the suspicion of retail theft. Do you know what that means? Like when you steal from a store when you take something without paying. >> No. >> Okay. Cuz there was a couple things on the video there. >> No. >> Okay. >> No. That you don't understand. Okay. See, I'm trying to get you. >> Trying to see how I can make you understand. What language do you speak? Like what's your name? >> Huh? Arabic. Yeah. >> Arabic. >> What? What's he? >> Okay. Hold on. >> No. Understand with me. No. I'm not Ahab. What you need? I don't know. and store it in on the receipt. >> Yeah. One second. >> Alan receipt. >> She say me in in in the the eight Mars. She say no me look in receipt look in in the story think this thing 1 minute. She say I need I need >> It's okay. Yeah, so just take a seat here. Yeah, I need a manager. I need a manager. She say no. I 1 minute. >> Well, that's the only reason why we're here. >> She said crazy. >> Okay, well, just take a seat. Okay, just take a seat like I said. Okay, and we'll figure this out. >> We'll figure this out. >> She insisted that she had never been there before, but it was clearly untrue because the store's loss prevention team had a different story to tell. >> She think she wasn't here. She was in Chicago. >> That's not true. I've got her um her license plate if we need to confirm it. See if that would be here. It's the same car she pulled up in today. >> Wow. Ma'am, >> one minute. >> No. >> Is that your car? >> No, >> that's not your car. Can you go back to the picture of her? >> It's also the same clothes she was wearing >> in in his bag. This is the car in his bag. >> So that's not you. >> Look, >> look, look at the date. 326. >> No, no, in here in Chicago. No, in the first and she say my Arabic one minute in Arabic. In Arabic me everything in my Arabic shirt in hijab my my my sister rock >> you're wearing this one minute. >> Okay, we're not going to Okay, listen. We're not going to argue. >> At that point, the officer made his decision. The woman continued denying everything as if the language barrier she had claimed earlier had never existed. >> We're not doing this. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. You're not doing this. Take this off. >> I'm not going to do this with [laughter] you. Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> I'm not going to do this. STOP. >> DON'T TOUCH. Don't touch. Please. Don't touch. Please. 1 minute. 1 minute. >> We don't got 1 minute right now. >> 1 minute. 1 minute. I need talk in brother. 1 minute. 1 minute. >> You can talk to him from the counter. You can call him all you want over there. >> My baby. Me and baby in the home. I need talk. >> I'm pretty sure you're not going to leave him out there by himself. I'll let you make phone calls out there. >> Come on. I'll take you out to my car. No. 1 minute. I need to >> You want Do you want another charge for resisting? Do you want another charge for resisting? >> What? >> Do you want to get charged for resisting? >> Then just cooperate. >> Understand? >> Just cooperate. I'm going to walk you out to my car. >> What? >> I'm going to walk you out to my car. Okay, we're going to talk out there. >> No, understand. I need talk. I need talk in the brother. Come in, brother. No me. No me. I ass stop. No me. She said wa know me will know me in my sister in ns in in dress and ns in in the hair ns in the shell stop don't touch don't touch please don't touch >> don't touch don't touch >> no >> do you want to come or not >> okay I >> I will force you out I will force you out what >> it's not what you want I [laughter] don't Okay, let's go. Palestine need to bleed. >> Moments later, as the woman continued to resist, a backup officer arrived to assist. It also became clear that her actions could lead to an additional charge. >> Well, come on. Let's go. >> Just say no, please. >> Ma'am, please. [laughter] You're going to make it up. >> You're going to pick up charges. Get off. >> Okay. I [laughter] need talk in the brother. I need talk in the brother. >> No, we're not doing that right now. I told you no. >> I need talk in the brother. Please. No. Not in not in number. Not in >> No, I haven't checked her yet. >> I don't know. >> You got anything on you? >> No. Not in the cup. >> Before she was taken to the police station, the store also made its own decision regarding her actions. >> Need to take a picture or two. >> Oh. >> Uh that uh trespass is also lung. It won't be able to be taken away. >> Okay. >> You know, >> no. No. In picture. No. With me in picture? No. >> Okay. Okay. Well, they have you picture. No, >> she doesn't want to do the picture. >> No, I need picture. No, >> no picture. >> No picture. >> That's fine. We got picture. >> She's my Muslim. No picture. >> Okay. >> Do you know what a trespass is? >> No. Understand? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> What you need? >> A trespass. Do you know what a trespass is? >> No. No. >> Hold on. I'm I'm going I'm going to give her the Google definition. I don't want to get this wrong. >> Receipt. No, I did. Yeah. Come back. >> Super literally >> me in in Baline. Not coming in America. >> Me? >> Mhm. >> What? Why? >> You didn't want to talk. You didn't want to let me read you Miranda warning. So >> why? >> I tried to explain that to you, but you wouldn't let me. So that's the reason. Okay. >> The previous incident involved approximately $420 worth of unpaid merchandise, while this time the total came to about $138 after the receipt was adjusted. In the end, 28-year-old Dena Oasisa was transported to the Poria County Jail and charged with retail theft. No matter how many excuses someone makes, evidence and repeated dishonesty will only make the situation worse. Next, let's take a look at the ultimate victim act from this suspect. >> One more chance. >> I'm not going to murder you, officer. I'm not. Don't do this. >> She was pulling her arms away, doing anything she could, and then she would act like she was going to fall. On the 19th of July 2024, officers approached a woman as she pushed a shopping cart into the Homeland parking lot. Normally, that wouldn't have drawn much attention, except the entire cart was suspected of being unpaid merchandise. Here's what happened next. >> Hey, ma'am. Yes, sir. >> You need to come with me real quick. >> Go ahead and stop for me for a second. Tell me what's going on. >> Nothing. Nobody stop me. >> Nothing. Go ahead and turn around for me. >> No, sir. >> No. Yeah. Why are you stabbing me? Why you stabbing me, sir? >> Ma'am, >> why are you stabbing me here? >> Well, because people are saying that you stole all this product, so I need to get to the bottom. >> Anything. >> Ma'am, there's no bags. >> Ma'am, I'm going to advise you one more time. >> Go ahead and put your hands behind your back so we can have a conversation. Okay. >> If not, I'm going to have to force you to. Okay. >> Please go. >> I haven't done anything. >> Okay. Go ahead and put your purse down. >> Actually, my receipt. >> Okay. Well, I'll take a look at it a second. For now, put your purse down. >> I'm not going to let you run away. >> I'm not going to run. I'm not going to run for >> Okay. >> I'm not going to run. >> One more chance. >> I'm not going to run away from you, officer. I'm not. Don't do this. >> Although she repeatedly insisted she wasn't trying to run away, her actions told a completely different story. In fact, her behavior only became more confrontational as the encounter escalated. >> I'm not going to run away from you. I'm trying to fight. I'm going Yeah. >> I was trying not to on the ground. >> Actually, >> everywhere. >> 27. Close out my traffic stop. Build me another one at the same shop with you. [clears throat] >> Any second. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> Stand up. >> Yeah. Well, you tried to bite me, so shut up. >> I never tried to bite you. I would never do that. >> Thank you for being in the right spot at the right time. I'm upset cuz they run out. >> The woman tried to portray herself as the victim. Although she pretended to cry for help, it didn't work because the witnesses at the scene weren't fooled. >> Have to get a statement about what you witnessed out there with the use of force. >> Um, so what did you see? >> The officer tried to detain her and she resisted arrest. >> Okay. Are you the one that flagged him down? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. >> Well, another customer also was yelling from here to get his attention, but I was following her. You >> called her out there? >> Yeah. I was trying to call her and then he intercepted when she got to that side. >> So, what did you see? Like did he just grab onto her or like what? >> Yeah. Well, he Yeah, he I think he grabbed the basket and then she she wanted to >> and then he grabbed her and she resisted and resisted. >> Okay. What was she doing? >> Fighting. He just like struggled. Resist. >> Was she like like doing that or was she like >> she doing anything she could to stay out of his arms? Yeah. She was pulling her arms away, doing anything she could, and then she'd act like she was gonna fall. >> Oh, I can't breathe. She was definitely resistant. >> Was she holding on to anything out there? >> Yeah, they bumped down that bumped into that. There was a black truck. It's not there now. Okay. >> But they bumped into it several times and she kept fighting him and I I called 911. I said I I thought he needed backup, but I guess he had something coming anyway. But >> Oh, yeah. There's much. >> I called and I [laughter] said, "This officer needs help. her on the ground wrestling because she resisted and he was taking her down. >> I got you >> because she was a fighter. >> So, the witnesses had already exposed the suspect's entire act. But investigators weren't done yet. They then spoke with the officer involved, revealing even more of the suspect's actions that would ultimately lead to additional charges. >> I was over here cuz I need a traffic stop. Um, heard people start yelling. I came over here to check it out and then I saw a lady walking up towards me with the basket. I noted in the basket there was no shop or there was no bags uh like had you gone through the scanner. Everybody uh people from Homeland I noted that she worked for Homeland. I saw her uniform. She said that lady didn't pay for anything. So I said, "Okay, ma'am. I'm going to have to continue. I'm going have to talk to you." Um she's like, "I paid for everything. I have the receipt." And I was like, "That's fine. I'll look at the receipt in a minute. For right now, I just need to I just need to talk to you." And I was trying to I grabbed onto her wrist because she looked like she was going to run. I had her uh elbow uh in this manner. I kept trying to pull her hand behind her back. She kept trying to twist the other way. I didn't really have anything to like push her up against to like maintain control of her. So, we're just kind of standing there like that for a second. Um I couldn't get to my radio to uh that stop. Both my hands were um tied up at the time. So, she tried to pull away from me and she tried to like run that way. I maintained control of her and I pushed her up against the truck. I was behind her. I was holding her arms behind the truck. This arm got loose. It was flapping around. I was trying to grab this wrist. I felt her head come this way and like lunge in my arm. I saw her uh head come this way. I felt her teeth brush against my arm. I said, "Don't bite me." And then I wrapped my arm, this arm around her right arm and a half Nelson type thing. Now I put my hand on top of the back of her head. I push her head away from this arm so I can try to get this arm control. Does that make sense? >> Yeah. >> Back with the suspect, [music] she took her victim act even further, making the officer suspect she might be under the influence of something. He's alive. He's alive. Oh god. >> We got medical coming. Did you take anything today? >> I can't breathe. >> They're responding from express. >> Hey, we got medical coming. What will make you feel better? Sitting up. >> Oh, >> you don't know? >> Would you rather just say laying right there? >> Miss Joy, how what's going to make you feel better? Is it setting up? >> What? It's going. >> I'll wait till I get here. I got to photograph her. >> Okay. >> That doesn't look very comfortable, Miss Joy. >> You want to sit up? >> Oh, God. >> Yeah. What's up? >> Watch your leg right there. >> Easy. Huh? >> The woman was charged with shoplifting, resisting an officer, interfering with an officer, [music] assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, and obstructing an officer. No performance can change the facts. [music] Once the evidence and witness statements tell the same story, the truth becomes impossible to escape. Next, this wife didn't go shoplifting alone. She brought her entire family with her. That's it. Kid goes to DCFS. >> I don't want to do that. >> On the 22nd of January, 2026, officers responded to a Walmart after receiving a report of a family suspected of shoplifting. [music] They immediately arrived at the scene and coordinated with asset protection, waiting for the right moment to surprise the suspects while surveillance cameras continued recording evidence. >> Stuffed it into his little bag. >> And you're just going to toss all the trash into the shelf. Stay on three. >> Yep. They're back to shopping again. Looks like they're waiting in line with the self check out on your side. They're at a self check out on your side right now. They're scanning stuff on their car right now. Paying for I guess. Hey, Evan. >> Yep. >> Roger go. Uh I'm going to head over to you guys. They're about done. Looks like she's paying for it now. >> They're walking right now. >> Stop. >> Yep. We need to talk to both of you guys. >> Right now, I'm going to detain you, though. >> Right now, you're under suspicion of retail theft. Okay. Put your other hand behind your back. >> Yep. We'll go through everything. Okay. >> Yep. >> Yeah, you're good. I got to do this. So, Right now, you've just detained. Okay, man. >> Here, let me let me make sure that tight tight. We're going to walk right down here to selfch checkout. Okay, >> we're going to go down to the asset protection. >> The man was then escorted to the asset protection office where officers recovered the concealed merchandise from inside his clothing, leaving him with little room to deny what had happened. >> You hear me, sir? >> Yeah, I heard you. I've got some stuff on you, sir. Yeah, you're good. >> Where's all that stuff at? >> No, it is. Can you uh It's right here in the front. >> I got you. Space will work. I was trying to help you. No, you're good. >> You're good. >> Excuse me. >> I'm going to trade you spots. Okay. >> All right. >> We're going to slide right past you. >> I'm going bring him out. He's got stuff concealed on him. So, >> bring him out. >> Yeah. Just so she can she can uh sit down. I'm going hand you lift my shirt up. Cuz >> this stuff right here. You can lift my shirt up. You give me permission. Yes, sir. Let me call them. >> These are you got taste, man. >> Yeah. Stuff right here. That's it. That's it. My phone. We're going to take everything out. >> Oh, [snorts] ma'am. Can I see your receipt, please? >> Yeah. >> This phone. Here's the pack. I get my money and stuff. >> Yep. We'll make sure you get it. Okay. Right now, I'm just grabbing everything out of there. Okay. >> That's awesome. I get mad about nothing. That's my candy wrapper. >> Why you touch my ladder? That's my ladder right there, too. >> All righty, man. You can sit down. Okay. >> I don't want y'all to add nothing up that I can't >> I watched you on video, so I'm just saying no extra. >> I got you. The man didn't seem the least bit embarrassed by what had happened, and neither did his wife. She showed no sign of surprise, as if she already knew exactly what was going on. But instead of trying to stop him, she appeared more [music] focused on coming up with an excuse for his actions. >> Well, it was when you stand at these two together. >> I didn't realize. I mean, I need to pay for it. >> Well, it's it's going to be too late because it's we're going to end up trespassing at the very least. So, I won't be able to purchase anything. >> I mean, on the the camera, it looks pretty pretty clear. I'm going be honest. >> Um, we're just supposed to call the cops over anything over. >> You're going to need a cart. >> They pretty much take care of it after there. >> From me, it's just going to be a trespass. >> It doesn't matter. You still at the end of the day still stole it. >> Still considered theft. So >> that's like 5,000. >> I understand. But you still have to pay for it. >> How much >> to that stuff? Man, I want you to fully understand that I watched every single bit of what you guys did almost from the time you entered the store till right now. So, I know exactly what you did. >> Why are you taking my property out? >> Cuz you didn't pay for this. >> No, I'm talking about [ __ ] that >> What's yours will go with you? >> I'm not talking. >> No, you're good. I understand. >> More merchandise was still being recovered. Because this family had an innocent family member caught up in the situation, officers decided to release the woman to avoid DCFS involvement. >> Child, and I don't want to take her child away from her. >> What's that? You got to adult with them. >> Is you got adult with your kids and your kids are okay, right? >> Her situation is different. If she goes to jail, kid goes to DCFS. >> I don't want to do that. >> I want it to be understood that we still have to hold people accountable. However, it's not our goal to take children away. >> I'm saying how how much is this retail thing? Is there going to be a not steel in the first place? >> All right. You had your Miranda warning read to you before? >> Yes. >> All right. You have the right to remain silent. Have the I need an audible answer. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Having these rights in mind. Do you wish you talk to me? >> Yes. >> All right. >> If if you if you're down on your luck, there's resources available now. >> Sir, I'm not the case. I'm doing everything that I get. >> I'm supposed to be getting in drug court right now. Like I said, I already got legal problems going on. >> I know. >> I can't do nothing. >> How'd you get here today? [snorts] What? >> My mom. >> Is she coming here? >> Yeah. >> Is she like here >> now? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Following the officer's decision, the suspects gradually accepted the consequences of their actions. Even the man admitted to the crime he had committed. >> Okay. >> And I got on the 28th, I have court coming up a trial for um two [music] retail in a in a possession of a stolen motor vehicle. >> This is under $500. And I don't know exactly what's going on. >> I have no clue. Yeah, >> that's why I'm asking you. >> I have no clue. >> Yep. >> You will see a judge. >> You have you been to jail? >> You know how that goes, man. >> Why? Who is this? You >> sis jail? >> Yes, I'm going to jail. Mom, >> I just told you that. >> Mom, >> what you come out to me some money or something? She didn't need money or anything. She need something, man. something's free. >> Hell no. >> Charge. >> Why don't you go in the county? Didn't change anything. You're going to get arrested mess. >> Yeah. >> What's that? >> No. I said I was telling her you had to run my name. Oh, yeah. So, I just need you to sign this after I read it off to you. Okay. So, what this is saying is Wednesday, March 15th at 1:15, says 13:15. That's the hours we use. >> Yeah. >> At 1:15 p.m., you're going to go to courtroom 321 at Pory County Courthouse. >> Okay. You're >> you're going there for retail theft under. >> Okay. So, if it was over $300 that was taken past last point of entry, that's a felony. >> So, the man was charged with retail theft. The woman was issued a notice to appear for retail theft and released. Compassion may change how justice is carried out, but it never erases responsibility. The woman was spared jail for her child's [music] sake, not because the crime disappeared. Next, this thief even had the audacity to demand 75 cents back after he was caught red-handed. Why you need something from here? My work. I don't care if it's a dollar to $2 to $19. >> Why you say you can't give me no ticket here? >> Because of your background. Cuz you already have four. >> On the 17th of January 2026, officers were dispatched to Walmart after a man was caught shoplifting inside the store. To make matters worse, he even demanded a refund over a transaction that was short by.75. Here's what happened next. >> Something to me. I feel like some freaking going to take something from me if I work hard. I don't care if it's a dollar to $2 to $19. I would [ __ ] over my money. You hear from her stuff. I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE LOOK LIKE. BRO, DON'T TAKE NOTHING from me. >> Don't talk like that though. >> But that's how that's how that's I don't care about. >> Ain't nobody tough in the world. Don't talk like that. >> We're not worried about that. What um what's going on? Do you have Did he steal or No. Yeah, he basically walked out with something that wasn't paid for and I was trying to talk to him, but he out here getting up on my face like saying I ain't going to do none of that. So that's cool. I'm here now. >> Yeah. So I collected the merchandise that's not paid for and I'm telling him he's not going to get a refund for the merchandise that is not paid for. >> So he's getting Oh yeah. >> So that's it. >> What uh you got any sheets you need anything? >> Especially if you're trespassing. No, he has a trespass. He doesn't want to come in here. >> Sir, you been trespassed. Do you get ID? Get ID on you. >> Under the store's accusations, he denied everything. However, when officers checked the evidence, it quickly became clear that his claims did not match the facts. >> I didn't I didn't I didn't I didn't steal nothing. I was trying to I must >> Brother, this a right to work state. You know how to work. >> Look here. Look, I didn't steal nothing. You hear me? >> Look, do you know how to work? >> How? What? >> A right to work state works. >> Look, I don't I don't know about none of that. They don't [ __ ] me. They don't [ __ ] me. Yeah, I feel like that damn [ __ ] me. >> I tell you what, in the world of commerce in in the state of Illinois, if I was on BS with you and I was an agent of any business, I could refuse you the right to service for any reason. I could trespass you just off strength walking in literally cuz I don't like you. >> That's right. >> So, if that's the ability of the law in this state and they want to trespass you for whatever reasons you may deem necessary, you can take that up civily with corporate or you can sign their trespass form or sign mine. I paid for it. We don't press paper. I pay for everything. I just got something. They say you ain't pay for this. >> It's 100 It's 100. It's 100 people in here that walk with me. I paid for it. >> THEY GOT IT. THEY HAVE >> They have your receipt. >> They got my receipt. >> Let me see his receipt. >> It's just one rand I didn't pay for. That's cool. That's cool. >> This your receipt? >> Yes. >> You pay for that? >> I didn't have all four of those, sir. Which one of those did he have? >> Two of those greens. Two greeners. >> Did you pay for them? >> Yes. I thought I did. I paid for one. One in the black. >> Okay, let me get the one in the black and I'll go grab my way. >> Did you pay for >> the two? >> How you feeling, man? >> How you doing, my man? You good? >> Study long, bro. Study long. >> I got me, man. >> You don't want to. You don't have to, man. >> What the, bro? I'm not trespassing, bro. >> You don't want to. You don't have to. You got to come with me, though. He appeared visibly anxious, suggesting he might not have been in a normal state of mind. On top of that, employees gave statements confirming that he had made threatening remarks. >> He was like, "I'm wait for this outside. I'm kill." He was like, "I'mma wait for this >> in front of the stars." >> AJ. >> Yeah. I'm going kill this for $20. I'mma wait for around. >> I'm just saying, brother. You got to chill. We can't be emotional. Emotional man. Emotional man, bro. All right. That's emotional man, man to man, bro. Emotional man is a woman. >> Let's stop being emotional. >> Yes. And I'm black. >> Straight up. >> Me, too. >> This blue didn't cancel out my blackness. So, emotional men are women. We over with that. >> All right, bro. Thank you. >> How much is the amount? >> Excuse me. I'm not going to have a seat. All right. I'm not doing this with you, >> bro. Y'all going to take my [ __ ] then y'all going to threat me, bro. >> BROTHER. HEY. Y'ALL Y'ALL THREATEN TO TAKE MY [ __ ] GUESS I TOLD I >> LISTEN to him. >> Yes. I said don't nobody play about their [ __ ] >> What's he? >> What's his? >> This his people around here about >> Can I ask you a question? What's your first name? >> I'm Arthur. >> I'm Arthur K. Sir. >> Arthur. >> Yes. >> Shortly afterward, the officer reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed that the man's claims of innocence were simply not true. >> So he paid for the red ones on this side. He had the monster, the blue one, which he did pay for. And this is the one I wanted to give him a rewind for because he left. >> So price came up and it was 75 cents. And then what happened? >> No, no, he paid for only.75 cents. The rest wasn't paid for. And then he walked out with two packs of the green monster. And >> so he you saying he under What did he ring up that was 75 cents? >> No, that's how much he paid. >> No, I know. >> I get it. So what did he scan that was priced at 75? >> No. So, like there's a way for Walmart to only pay off of how many you want for the card like he took off and he only paid 75 cents for one Visa card. So, he just walked away after that. He didn't attempt to pay the rest. >> I see. Yeah. I've been >> And then after that, that's when we approach him, go outside, ask for the receipt. I told him that uh what did I tell him? Tell him that I was just stopping him because it was just some paid merchandise. And then he was like, "Well, which one was it?" He's like, "The monsters." And he's like, "You going to stop me for $20?" And I'm all like, "Yeah, but you know, like you know the day I still got to do my job. It's just some unpaid merchandise. That's it." >> He gets agitated. He's all like, "He's not stealing. I'm like, I'm not saying you're stealing. It could be an accident. You know, accidents happen." >> He gets upset. [laughter] >> Arthur, you're making this process longer. I get to hear your story and then her story. >> Just have a seat, Arthur. >> So, I removed He was like, "Get your [ __ ] Just get your [ __ ] so I can get out of here." >> So, I put away the Red Bulls. These two weren't paid for it. So I told him he wasn't going to get a refund for it because he's technically supposed to get a refund >> because he didn't walk out with the one that he was paid for. >> He left the building, said he was going to come back that he wanted his ship when they said that he came back. He came back inside the building talking to the blue stars. He's telling him that he's going to wait until I come out of work so that he can. In addition, after checking the name he provided, officers quickly discovered that he had an extensive criminal history, prompting them to immediately place him under arrest. >> So, every day all you got larger, brother, >> that we got to take him in. >> It's extensive larseny. >> No, it's not. >> What the boss? Did you talk to him? >> Did you talk? Oh, he got four. >> Yeah. >> Here's the deal, man. I tried to get you a ticket, but unfortunately, >> I'm going to jail, bro. They talking about I got sold my background. I'm going to jail. >> You be right out. No, it's no cash. >> No cash bond. You get >> I'll bring you back here. You can use your phone while >> you can call him while you're there. >> I'm going down for >> you. Keep your phone. >> I get a ticket. Can you just write me a ticket? >> Yeah, I'm going to give you a ticket over there. Not here. >> Why not here? >> Because that's why I asked you if he had lar in your background. I have told you this one if you told me. Yeah. >> Some [ __ ] bro. >> He been one, bro. Not even. Hey, um, what I would say is hang up now. Tell them you can call them in 15 minutes. They going to give your phone when we get to this. When we get there, they give you your phone. Bro, >> they give you your phone, brother. >> It's not even he'll see. He'll see. >> Put your hand back. >> Why you say you couldn't give me no ticket here? >> Because of your background. Cuz you already have four. >> You got four, which means they can't. >> You know that better than I do. In the end, Arthur was charged with retail theft. A small theft can quickly turn into an arrest, [music] especially if you already have a history of similar offenses. Next, this woman tried to play innocent, even after attempting to run away. >> You pregnant? >> Yes, I'm doing all this stuff. >> I can't breathe, sir. On the 15th of January 2023, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting at a Bath and Body Works store. By the time they arrived, the suspect had already fled. So, they began gathering information by interviewing the employees who witnessed the incident. [music] >> What happened? Your shoes. >> Um, came in, grabbed a basket, um, filled it up, grabbed another basket, just her usual. I did not physically see her when she was on the floor. Haley, do you want to explain to him like the process today? She basically grabbed one basket, came up this way, and I know she was on this candle wall grabbing stuff, >> and then when she filled up that basket, she grabbed another one from over there, and then went back to fill more, and then she grabbed some gift sets on her way out, >> and she had our wallflower wall. Um, >> and you you physically saw this happen, like all of us her like what she grabbed and everything. Obviously, it's a lot, so like >> Yeah. >> All right. Um, you mind if I get your information though since you actually witnessed it? Uh, you have an ID just to make it easier on me. >> All right. So, what time did you did you see her like come in and did you see this occur? Just a ballpark. It doesn't have to be exact. >> I say I put 4:47 on the report. That's about when I told >> uh my manager and supervisor. She came in and they proceeded to call the police. >> Mhm. >> Um, >> police say she [snorts] left 4 minutes after that. Mhm. >> So, probably like >> So, she did all of that in 4 minutes. >> Yeah, she's very quick. She'll It usually takes her longer now to walk out the door since she's pregnant to come in and grab the stuff. >> Gotcha. So, at 4:47, she came in. She [clears throat] What did she do when she came in? >> So, she immediately grabs her basket and heads straight to our regular candle wall. >> Um, she filled up that one with those candles and then she grabbed her second basket from over here >> without leaving. like she she had she was like the blinding I guess. >> Um she got that one. She went to the second candle wall and grabbed a few candles. >> Um and then our wall on the wall where she dropped some of the fancy plugs up there. >> Shortly afterward, officers located the woman at a nearby store. At first, everything seemed routine, but they had no idea she was about to do something completely unexpected. What you want me for? Why? Why you smacking me? >> 1500. >> Why? >> Already? >> Yeah. >> Oh my. >> Are you pregnant? >> Yes, I'm pregnant. >> And you're doing all this stuff? >> I can't breathe, sir. >> Okay. >> Well, you know, let me take off. Do you want me to talk? >> Yes, please. >> The woman's attempt to flee only reinforced the suspicion that she was guilty. Yet, after her escape failed, she immediately switched tactics, [music] acting completely innocent as if nothing had happened. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> This yours mine. Put it in hers. >> Okay. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> Where'd you drop it? >> In the lake. >> Yeah. Oh, w >> Maybe you shouldn't have ran. You should have thought of that. Yeah. >> What am I being charged with? >> You have two two charges pending for that. >> Two charges been pending for theft. >> Yeah. >> How do I have two charges pending for them? >> Well, that's life. >> Anything else in your pocket? >> No. >> Unless you want an extra charge, I'd suggest you start being honest. >> I don't have anything in my pocket like this. That's not an open line with a female yelling. Go ahead. Sit down. I have two. >> Well, how do I have two charges? >> All right. Put your sit in. >> We're going to have rescue come and check you out. Okay. >> How do I have two charges? >> Put your other leg in. >> Put the turn off camera. >> In fact, this wasn't the woman's first shoplifting incident. The officers soon confronted her about an earlier case that had taken place on Friday the 13th. >> Friday the 13th. >> Since you're going to school, >> so a couple of days ago, >> you get to choose whichever one you want. You remember that day? >> Mhm. >> All right. >> Wait, Friday. >> Miss Friday the 13th. Did you go do Bath and Body Work? >> She had a warrant for her arrest. So they spotted her and they were walking out with her. said no. >> So I already I have a warrant. >> So you you do understand you were caught on video inside the store that day. >> Oh, you said was I in the store on Friday? >> Friday the 13th a little bit. >> Were you in the store? >> She said it's not very painful at all, but she wants to get checked out. officers every took 25 hospital $800. >> I didn't pay no $25. >> You did not pay for any of that. >> I didn't take 25. >> I mean, pay for something. >> Again, you're on video. That's your answer. >> I didn't take 25. >> Did you take any camp? >> How about one? >> No. You still aiming for? >> The woman was charged with retail theft. Every lie, excuse or failed attempt to escape may delay accountability, but it cannot erase the truth. In the end, evidence speaks louder than words, and repeated bad choices only make the consequences more severe. Next, rather than a typical Walmart theft, this case centers on an alleged $13,000 fraud targeting the retailer. 72 events, $13,000. >> Huh? So 72 events, $13,000. Then you go to another store and you refund it for the full price. [music] >> I I usually resell my stuff. I don't know what you talking about. I resell. >> On the 21st of December 2025, officers approached a man after Walmart's loss prevention team reported that he was suspected of being part of an unlimited coupon scam. The suspects allegedly shared discount codes with each other and scanned them at selfch checkckout, receiving a $10 discount on every item. Here's what happened next. >> Come on, my boy. Let's go. I got you. Yeah, I got him right here. Let's go, my man. How you doing? Go right here in this office right here. All right. Inside. We'll talk about inside. All right. Yes. >> The man was then seated inside the loss prevention office where a Walmart representative directly confronted him with what they had uncovered during their investigation. Yeah. 13. >> 72 events, $13,000. >> Huh? So 72 events, $13,000. That's 72 that they've keyed in. Not everybody's keeping up with you. So tell me, what's going on with this uh coupon situation that you guys have? >> It's just a It's a coupon, >> right, that I'm buying. >> Uh-huh. How are you guys using that coupon? >> Just you just use that stuff. >> Uh-huh. You scan it on your phone, right? >> Yeah. >> What happens when you don't put that coupon? Which um do you got a fraud detective that's working? >> Well, who's the on call detective? >> What happens when you don't put that coupon in? >> All right. Thank you. I appreciate that. >> You don't you scan it on your phone. You're supposed >> So, tell me what you're doing after you buy the the merchandise with the coupon. >> No, I keep them. >> You keep the merchandise? >> Yeah. Uh-huh. So, you don't go to another store and refund the merchandise for full price, right? Come on. Don't lie to me. What do you mean? So, you come to the store here, you buy the merch. >> I usually resell on Amazon and stuff like that. That's how I get my stuff. >> Okay. >> And I do buy the merchandise here. >> You like $8, $9 on a $60. Then you go to another store and you refund it for the full price. I I usually resell my stuff, but I don't know what you talking about. I resell. >> He repeatedly denied the allegations and tried to dodge Walmart's suspicions. At that point, investigators began presenting the evidence they had gathered to see how he would respond when confronted with it. >> Right. That's your friend right there. I'm not BSing. I want you to tell me the truth cuz like >> I don't know what's the point. >> Can I see him >> of BSing me? BSing. You know your people. >> So, what's the deal with this? You have guys have a a chat where you guys send each other the coupon and >> so it's online like you can get you get your your discounts for cheaper. That's all I'm getting. And I resell on Amazon. >> Yeah, but you're not submitting the uh coupon to the register. >> It don't it don't prompt me to do that though. >> It does. >> I didn't know that. I literally it's a digital coupon online that I could get and I get my stuff for cheap. It's a coupon. It's not how it works. >> I didn't know you have to do I didn't know you have to have a physical coupon to do that. >> What's your name, brother? Chris, >> you got your ID on you, you postman? >> No, I don't have it on me right now. >> I don't have it on me. I can get My full name is Christopher though. Chris Alfred, >> you said Alfred. >> Yeah. >> It's literally a coupon, bro. I didn't know like I was doing something. >> This up to them because >> it's a coupon. >> They want to press charges and they got they got the right to do it. Hey, just run um 24 this name for me. Christopher. Um how you spell your last name? L I'm just type A LF. What? >> A L F. R E D >> R E D. >> He continued denying everything, but he had no idea Walmart already knew the full extent of the operation. Investigators even identified other people involved in the scheme, making it clear they had been tracking the group for quite some time. >> Gift cards. >> You and your other Well, mostly your other friend was one gift card. I never did a gift card. >> Yeah. Yeah. Your other friend is the one that started with the gift card. >> My other friend with >> this one. >> Can I see? >> Oh. >> Yeah. He's in your one. >> You say he did gift card? I don't know. >> Yeah. You came in with him? What are you talking about? What? >> You literally came in with him. >> What? What is this? >> Okay, it's fine. >> I swear, bro. You think I'm li I don't know him, bro. You talking about gift card. I never did a gift card in here. I don't Who you talking about? Gift card. >> You found him at um You found him. >> Boss, I'm not lying to you, bro. Okay. >> You said gift card. I never >> You found my name though. Christopher Alford 5 1997. >> I wouldn't lie. >> And you have a You have a New York driver license? >> Yes. here. I don't have Florida. I'm not from Florida. I'm just trying to move out here. >> You don't you don't have nothing to say you from New York. A New York um driver license on your phone. >> We were in Tampa the other day. The other dude literally have the other day. >> Who? The guy he just showed me. >> Yeah, the guy you were with. Guy that he just showed me. >> The other dude you were with. Bigger. >> At that point, with all the evidence and surveillance images Walmart had provided, the officer made the decision to place him under arrest. Interestingly, the man accepted it without much resistance, seemingly realizing there was no point in denying it any longer. >> Hey, boss. Put it like you're praying. It's easier on your on your wrist. Like you're praying. >> Like I'm praying >> on behind you. Like this. Yeah, it's easier on your wrist. >> I actually right now quiet. >> Fraud. Fraud. Fraud. Fraud. >> Fraud or coupon is fraud. there. We'll talk about it. >> Yeah. >> You got the receipt for this? >> All right. Can y'all do the returns for this one if y'all mind? >> Y'all got Can I get one of the bags so I can just put this in? >> Yeah. >> Bring it to customer service and uh have them do a refund. If y'all got anybody else in the store, let me know so I can get them too. All right. >> Yeah, we'll see if we can spot them right here. >> Christopher Alfred was charged with organized fraud under $20,000. Trying to pass off a fraudulent scheme as just using a coupon won't hold up when investigators can show a clear pattern of repeated transactions. Once the evidence reveals an organized operation, denying it only makes the situation harder to defend. >> I didn't take anything from a display table. >> So he didn't. >> Did he take anything? >> I took them. I took them. I didn't have the money to to get the pants. I I took them. >> On the 13th of January, 2025, police stopped a vehicle suspected of being connected to multiple thefts at Kohl's. When officers approached, the suspects showed no sign of concern. Almost as if they had already prepared themselves for this very moment. >> Hi, I'm officer Watson Police Department. Hi. >> Want to shut the car off for me? >> Sure. >> Just throw the keys up on the dash, sir. >> Sure. >> All right. So, the reason I'm stopping guys is you guys did a retail theft. >> I have You have a driver's license with you? >> You got your ID on you? Can I show you uh my emails that uh >> So you got a you're saying you got an email for what? >> I have uh a Kohl's account and I order stuff all the time from there. >> Okay. >> They said you took something from a display table. >> I didn't take anything from a display table. >> Said he did. >> Did you take anything? >> That for is Cole's on scene there or are they uh remoting in? So what is that for? What >> that you got here? >> Well, I just picked up self pickups. I don't I I I don't know if he did. You take anything? >> They suspected each other, making it seem like a staged act to appear confused and innocent. By then, officers had noticed the items in the back of the vehicle and became suspicious. >> Um, so everything in this vehicle you paid for? >> Absolutely. Um, I'm a groomer for a living. I have a groom in this area. I mean, I don't know if it's okay. I I certainly did not see it. >> So, there's going to be nothing in this vehicle that's stolen. Just be honest with us. >> No. >> You have receipts for all this stuff, right? >> Probably online or not by email. >> Okay. Do you want to Do you want to pull it up then? >> Sure. >> It's going to take me a minute. I mean, I have so many orders. >> Nothing today, though. >> What do you mean? >> No orders today? >> I I placed an order. >> Okay. >> Today? >> Do you have that on there? >> Yeah. Um, today's the 13th. I placed an order for a pressure cooker and it's in fulfillment and it's going to get mailed to my house. >> Okay. >> So, you you placed an order? >> I placed an order. >> Okay. So, what did you get from Kohl's today then? >> I had a self pickup. >> Where's where's the receipt for that? >> Um, it's usually in my emails, but my emails >> So, just be honest with us. Did you not pay for that? >> No, >> you have a receipt for everything else. So, >> I pay for every I have two Kohl's uh accounts. >> Okay. >> I mean, I have emails that say self pickup, instore pickup. Your order has been picked up. Um, go ahead. You can look in the trunk. >> Okay. >> She appeared completely confident in her questionable receipts. She even willingly showed the merchandise in the back of the vehicle, believing it would help clear her name. was a Christmas gift that from Old Navy that I cannot return because it has a stain on it. >> So, where are the bags that you brought with you when you came out of Kohl's and got in the vehicle? >> What do you mean? >> They were bag shopping bags like that. There are two of them. Where are those? >> The the stuff from Kohl's I put in here. >> Okay. So, you don't have a receipt for those? >> I do. They're on They're in my email somewhere. I order so much stuff. >> So, how did you go pick it up, though? Don't you have to show them something? >> I had an in uh uh pickup pass. >> Okay. Where's that? >> You open the pickup pass and then it tells you what bin it's in. >> Right here. It says in store pickup is ready. It's not letting me click on the email. >> That's >> instore pickup is ready. >> Oh, now you should be able to delete. >> But this isn't here. >> No, that's at straf. >> Yeah. So, what were you picking up here? >> These items I ordered Nike shoes. >> Okay stuff for Christmas. >> Where's that order of pickup? That's what I'm trying to find. Uh, it's either in this email or my other email. My son has an account and I have an account. And I was showing the guy. He scanned the the bags and then I said, "Is there a problem?" He said, "No." And he let me go. >> He scanned everything. >> Okay. So, let's see what he scanned. >> He scanned the the bag. >> I I did not take anything on a >> They continued to deny every accusation raised by the officers. However, police had already received new information from the store and they began questioning the man to uncover the truth. >> Where are the two small items you took from the clearance table? The clearance table that you took from inside Kohl's. Where are those at? >> I didn't take any items from clearance. I when I picked up something, I put it back. >> They're watching the camera right now and they saw you pick it up. Just be honest with us, dude. Let's not make this anything bigger than it is. >> I'm going to I'm telling you what I picked up. I picked up a white a white a cream a jogging suit for my son and I put it down because I called my baby mama. She said she >> Where's that at? I put it back in the store. I didn't take anything out of the store. >> They They watched you walk out of the store with it and then take it out when you got in the car. >> I never took anything out of You could search me. You could search the car. I never took anything out of the car. >> Okay. So, there's not going to be any stolen items in here. >> What's that? >> Get out. >> No, just hang right there for a second. >> She pulled up. She has an order today. Can you look see? Okay. So, this is no Hold on. She said you could look at it. So, this No, how do we go back? >> So, this this order placed today, >> right? that that's being mailed to her house. Yep. >> What are they saying that was taken off of the display? Because I was stopped at the door. >> He took the items off of the display. >> Oh, okay. >> When you got back in the car, did you see where he put the items? >> I don't I didn't even know he took anything. >> And then how does this online order thing work? When you place this order, >> when I place an order, they either um mail it or it's an instore pickup. If it's an instore pickup, it'll either give a pickup pass and it'll tell you the bin number. >> So, where are these two instore pickups? cuz they said those weren't your >> like I said I have I um can I I'm going to go and >> at the same time a store employee arrived at the scene and provided an account that completely contradicted the story they had been telling. >> Do you know who are you guys able to tell from your system whose orders those were? >> One was a female. I can get more information once I figure out exactly which containers was a male name was a female. >> And then do you know what he took? He took Nike um boys clothing. It looked like he swiped the uh the tan looking pants off of the table and he shoved them right underneath his jacket. >> Okay. And they're tan Nike pants. >> Yeah, they're like tan Nike pants. And to be honest with you, when he was pulling them out in the car, >> that's all I saw was just that. But it looked like two things he grabbed on. >> Okay, perfect. Thank you. >> Let's get them in the car and then we can sort the rest of this out. So, where's the where's what they scan for this? They have to scan it when you walk out, right? >> No, I had a pickup pass. >> And they just hand you a random bag. How do you know which bag? >> They don't hand random bags. When you have a pickup pass, they give you a bin number. >> You go to that bin number and you pick up your items that you order online. >> He stopped me at the door. >> Where does it tell you? >> He scanned the items and he said, "Okay, you're fine." >> Based on the employees statement, officers confirmed the suspect's involvement. The man eventually showed remorse and made a series of belated admissions. >> You want to join us and tell us what happened today? You want to read him and then [snorts] hold on. We're going to read you something. Okay. >> I want to go. >> So, Anthony, tell us what happened today then. Like I said, honesty goes a long way with us. >> I'll be honest. I took them. I took them. I didn't have the money to to get the pants. I I took them. >> Okay. Who are they for? >> My son. I took them. I don't want to go to jail, though. I know. >> Okay, we appreciate that. But we got to take you back to the station and sort it all out. Okay. >> Try not to twist your wrist. The more you force, >> let's not turn this into something bigger. So, what what really happened? >> I went in there and I picked up my instrument. When the gentleman scanned the bags, I said, "Was there a problem?" He said, "No, you're okay." So, I left. He went in to go to the bathroom. I don't know if he stole anything. I have no idea. >> You have all the other orders that you've you've made, but you don't have the ones from today that they're saying were stolen. How does that explain to me how >> I don't understand how they say they were stolen when the guy scanned the items and told me you're fine? >> Because you scanned a barcode that's not in your your app there. I don't know where he got the barcode from. >> He scanned the barcode. >> Yeah, but you showed him a barcode on your phone. >> No, he scanned the barcode that was on the bag. So, how do they know it's you when they give you these items? >> I have no idea. I said, "Is there a problem?" He said, "No." >> Okay. >> The woman shamelessly shifted all the blame onto the man, but officers still placed her in handcuffs as the merchandise inside her vehicle told a very different story. >> [snorts] >> I told him just took her to investigation. figure out >> 532. >> I'm guessing this was stolen one. >> He did it. >> Oh, he did? >> Yeah. >> Is there anything else back there? Like that looks like new merchandise. >> No, this is all this is all the dog zooming stuff here. >> We got a dog. >> What What's about to happen, man? cuz I know I know I should have been honest with you guys the first time, man, but I was I ain't going to lie to you. I was scared, [snorts] man. I I I don't I don't know what's going to happen. I don't >> The wallet, too, right? You stole that. >> The Timber the Timberland wallet. >> I didn't steal that. That's my wallet. >> We got to figure out how much those items were from Kohl's and then we'll go from there. >> I I can tell you I I can tell you how much they were. >> Yeah, we're going to figure that all out. It might just be a ticket and you're good to go. Or uh we got to see what else we got going on here. >> Yes, sir. Okay. I I apologize to Mr. Bast. >> I apologize, man. I got you. >> In the end, Danielle Angel was charged with class 4 retail theft due to a prior conviction, while Anthony Dra was charged with class A retail theft after admitting to stealing children's clothing from Kohl's. Actions have consequences. Trying to hide the truth, shift the blame, or rely on excuses only makes the situation worse when the evidence tells a different story. Next, watch how this man made one unreasonable excuse after another to justify his actions. [ __ ] man. >> I'm saying we got ahead. Put your hands behind YOUR BACK. >> WHEN YOU GRAB ME, after you after he grabbed me, I said, "What the am I getting? What the am I getting detained for?" >> On the 28th of August, 2025, officers arrived at Walmart's loss prevention office where they observed a man take a pair of clippers from the shelf before heading to customer service to fraudulently return them. He then casually walked away with an identical brand new pair. At that moment, officers approached him, but they never expected what he would do next. >> Don't need a [ __ ] >> We already got We already got >> Don't need a [ __ ] man. Put your hands back. >> Damn, we got ahead. Put your hands behind your back. >> Damn. We got to reh back. Still 35 running back now. >> We bought that. >> PUT YOUR HEAD BACK. >> WE BOUGHT IT. I promise we bought it. >> Want to see it? Where's the gun? >> I bought it. Look, I got the receipt. Once secure receipt, that's about it. I don't need to receive the receipt. >> If the man had truly paid for the item, then why did he try to run? What do you think? In reality, he had no idea. Officers had been watching his every move the entire time, making every excuse he gave completely pointless. >> Hey, can you tell we bon it? Look at the receipt, >> bro. Just look at the receipt. No, babe. Look at the I'm telling him. Listen. Yeah. Thank you. >> So, have y'all not seen me buy it though? >> We saw you take one off the shelf and put it in the bag. >> Oh, this a clip. I was going to bought this [ __ ] I already bought them. It's on the receipt. >> Oh, the one you returned. Yeah. >> So, we uh >> just stop. Yeah. Yeah. We'll do it in there. >> We'll unhook him in there. We'll unhook him when we get inside, man. >> Bro, like y'all to talk to me about this [ __ ] Y'all trying to arrest me for what? >> Y'all trying to arrest me. Y'all didn't even give me a chance to show you talking about I keep your hands when I ain't back. >> Not listen. We just follow up. Yeah. Now >> I was not listen my thing about it. I'm trying to explain to y'all. Y'all not trying to talk though. >> Can you tell it? Let it go. Let it go. Literally, let it go. It mean everything you want. Don't >> His girlfriend's reaction indirectly exposed his deception. Even then, he kept playing the innocent card as if telling the truth had never crossed his mind. >> I'm not running from them. I'm just trying to talk to them. Ask them why are they trying to put me in handcuff. >> What I'm going to do is I'm going to do this return for you and give you the money. Okay. >> That's the only question I got. >> So, the reason the reason >> No, I'm not mad at you. [laughter] I'm I'm trying. >> No, I'm trying to explain to him though. I'm not mad. I'm not mad at you. I'm I'm just saying that I was trying to ask a question and they trying to arrest me. >> No, they're trying to say his handice. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I saw you. You choose the only clipper that you had yours. The one you purchased, you still try to walk out with after you made a return. So, that's the reason why we're making contact with you. >> Okay. >> And they're making contact with you. So, it's still the end of it. See what I'm trying to say? >> So, petty theft. >> Yeah. >> So, what I'm trying to know, Mr. Bas, what I'm trying to explain to you, I heard you under arrest and I'm trying to explain to y'all the situation >> and I'm thinking that's under arrest though. But I'm trying to explain to you over them though. You didn't even give them a chance to listen. And I understand that. And I'm trying I'm trying to >> And I'm trying to I'm trying to explain and I'm trying to explain to them though. That's what I'm trying to explain on my mindset. Where my head was at. I'm trying to explain to y'all where my head at though. I didn't know that. I'm thinking under arrest for what? My question is for what? Can I explain myself? We going to talk as soon as I try to explain myself. Y'all talking about what the y'all tackling me. >> You said talk. >> I'm trying. I was trying to but I'm getting What the am I getting tackled for? They not even telling me what you trying to spit out, bro. You on camera. >> No, you grab when you grabbed me. After you after he grabbed me, I said, "What the am I getting what the am I getting detained for? What am I getting arrested for?" >> Well, you didn't. That's telling me that you didn't want to talk to begin with. >> How if I'm asking questions and in the process of moving away and I'm asking questions, y'all supposed to talk. >> If y'all say, "Hey, we need to bring you over here to talk." I was already walking that way. >> Many people were probably hoping he would finally stop telling lies that no one believed anymore. What you might not know is that while he was saying all of this, several taser probes were still lodged in his body and officers later helped remove them. I'm going take your skin off that one. >> There's one in my head. I feel something tugging on my head. >> Yeah, there's one in your neck. You want me to get that one, too? >> Yeah, you ready? >> Yeah, >> man. Hit me a patch. >> You got two in his right pull out. >> You got two. >> Yeah. Yeah. I thought you got a patch in my head. >> It's like right here. >> Hang on. I'm going get this one, too. >> Yeah. So, my bad. This is tight. Let me get this this cool. >> All right. You ready? >> Yeah. Go ahead. What I'm what I'm trying to explain to y'all is that what I'm all I'm saying is that this is the determined factor if I got to go to jail or not. So I'm just trying to figure out is it alternatives though like what would be >> this is if you had to come back in here and come through the office. >> That's no no see. Paul see that's that's the miscommunication that though cuz I thought I would be under arrest for something that I I didn't even talk over yet. >> So that's the only reason why these cuffs got put on me though. You get what I'm saying? So that's the only >> Thank you. That that was the only miscommunication though cuz I think I'm being under arrest without without even having a chance to explain the situation or trying to solve the problem. You know what I'm saying? >> I hadn't taken off. >> No, I didn't take No, I pulled away and at that point I'm just at that point though what the at this point like what the I'm still trying to ask what the am I being under arrest for? >> Talk to me like >> Shortly afterward he was escorted outside regardless of whether he agreed because the evidence against him was already overwhelming. Deep down, he knew it, [music] too. To the point where he became frustrated that the officers refused to take his side. >> Man, you a black brother. You can't help me out and tell them, "Hey, I didn't resist." What you resisted? >> Not intentionally, though. Not like this. Like, I'm trying to get away. I'm trying to ask a question. >> But you were trying to get away. That's why I tased it. >> I'm only trying to get at y'all tackling me. That's all I'm trying to stop though. I'm stop y'all from tackling me though. >> He wasn't tackling. >> So, you ain't right. >> Okay. I'm not arguing with you though. But obviously, we both was there. I'm saying that from my point of view and your point of view of what didn't match up. >> What matches up if he told you to put your hands behind your back? You were >> and you did not. You ain't comply at all. >> I didn't. I didn't try to hold you. >> When you first you pulled away. >> Grab me again. Grab my wrist. When you first asked and you grabbed my wrist >> and then you tensed up and then you started pulling away. >> And I said why? I said why your back and you just kept. >> We're not going to debate over there. I'm giving you a lawful order. You got to follow it. So this is where we're at. Like my sergeant said, we don't debate this right here. That is what court system for. You're being charged with it. You're not being convicted of it. >> Ain't with no way around this. >> Come on. >> I'm just asking. Can I sit down and ask a question? >> You sit down. Trust me, we going to be in there, too. >> I'm just You ain't going to talk to me, bro. Just for a little bit. >> No, we going to be in there. >> Were y'all here for this one? >> In the end, the 25-year-old man was charged with petty theft in the second degree and resisting an officer without violence. People should take responsibility for their actions instead of relying on excuses or deception because honesty and cooperation almost always lead to better outcomes than turning a mistake into multiple criminal offenses. >> On my law, >> I did everything that told him to do. He going to manhandle me. >> Stand up for me. >> Man, you suck. >> Don't let him. Please don't let him >> I DON'T WANT HIM TO TOUCH ME. >> ON June 23rd, 2025, police were dispatched to Bosau after receiving reports of three suspects involved in shoplifting. Upon arrival, the suspects were still in the parking lot, completely unaware of the unfolding situation. >> Excuse me, sir. >> Hi, I'm Officer I'm Officer SC. I'm with the Eaton Town Police. >> I need I need her backpack. I need all the stuff in the car. >> Just let you know, instance being recorded. Okay. Hello. Hi. >> Could you shut off the car for me, please? Shut off the car for me. >> You can just exit. That's fine. Exit. We're going to talk. We're going to talk. You, too, ma'am. You got to exit the car. Okay. >> I'm Officer Scam with the Eaton Town Police. >> I need the backpack. I need the chair that's >> just let you know since it's being recorded. Okay. >> Yes. >> Come on out of the car there, ma'am. >> The chair that's in the back in the car as well. >> Whatever's his. Go ahead and give him whatever. >> I don't have his. Nothing of his. >> You don't have anything of his? >> No, I'm not. I don't. >> Okay. All right. All right. We're going to figure it out. >> You see it? >> Can I see the bedroom? Can he see the bag? >> And there was like a big blue uh chair that you had slung over your shoulder. Where's that? >> Got a lot of pills in here. >> Whatever's yours. Just find yours and take yours. >> Exactly. >> All right. >> I got plenty of plans. The >> lady sit there and tell you we need to register and pay for this [ __ ] >> Guys, guys, guys. We called here. We're going to figure this out. >> We're going to figure it out. Okay. We're not here to give you a hard time. We're just going to >> give us a hard time. >> No, we are not giving >> I've been nothing but polite to you, man. The woman's arrival escalated the situation, forcing the officers to work hard to calm everyone present. Though their efforts seemed largely ineffective like this profile, though I'm glad I'm stealing something bugging, bro. >> We're going to figure it out. Okay. >> My job is to my job is to protect you and make sure that everything is correct. Okay? So, let me just take care of it and if he's wrong, we'll determine that. Okay? >> All right. >> There's a friend of mine just pick me up. >> That's fine. Guys, do you have ID with you? Does everyone have ID? Do you have ID with you, sir? >> It's not up for him. >> I got ID. >> Okay. Can I see your ID, please, sir? >> You want to see my ID? >> You're invol You're involved in a You're involved in the a shopping. >> I'm not involved in nothing. I'm with I'm not involved in nothing, bro. Sir, sir, listen to me, sir. I know my law. I know my right. >> I know my rights. I came to the store. I bought something. I bought what I bought. I'm not involved in nothing. I don't have to give my name. If you want to go further with that, you can. I got I got Look, I got a big idea on me. >> It's right here. >> Okay. So, sir, let's >> I got a big idea on me. I'm not I ain't hiding nothing. Hold on. Yeah, I I didn't >> I know I got big money on me. All right, >> so listen. I I didn't accuse you of anything. Okay, I'm investigating the crime here. >> I got money right here. >> I don't have to steal. That's profiling, bro. Bro, >> the man tried to justify himself by showing the money he had. But of course, that offered no excuse, nor did the woman's subsequent statements. >> Um, so he's going to determine how >> But he said we took out and there is the book bag. He went through the book bag. Nothing's in the book bag. Insanely stuff. >> Coming from the police point of view, they called us. We're just here to try to figure out what's going on. >> I understand. >> So, we're going to see what >> you can get. Ma'am, >> I'm dropped my phone. >> We're trying not to make this a big deal. >> Like you're doing complaints for >> all three of them for what? She walked out. The uh woman with the yellow shirt walked out with the comforter. >> That's the blue. >> I didn't know honestly. I just >> I watched you do it. >> Yeah, but I didn't know it was You watched them try to stop her in a bag and then >> No, she didn't. >> No, she did not. >> No, she did not. >> For what? >> Thank you. Well, we're going to figure this all out. So, >> what am I stepping out the car for? >> Because it's an active investigation. You might be placed under arrest. We don't know yet. >> I'm not being placed under arrest. I'm who I'm right here for. I guess he did. Yeah. >> Anything else? >> She took this blue out. >> Yeah, I did. >> She put that cup was mine. >> To clarify, the woman confidently denied any wrongdoing because she had used the blue bag to steal, but then left it inside the store before exiting. This gave her the confidence to challenge the officer so boldly. >> But I never came out the store with that. >> That stuff I never walked out the store with. had this in his bag and she had all this. >> But I never walked out the store with that [ __ ] >> All right. Um >> at all. >> I didn't walk out another store with none of that. >> This was in his bag. >> Okay. But we didn't go through We didn't go through the baggage yet. He just He just forfeited that to us, >> right? >> Okay. Yes. >> And this was in this black bag. >> I never had that. That bag was stayed in that store and never came out that store. That bag never came out that store. >> In the cart. >> Yes. >> Right. She went behind the register. >> That wasn't in the cart. >> And then she took uh the three bags of chips. Uh the >> Yes, I did take the three bags of chips. >> Bag. >> Okay. >> She picked this up out of the display, put it right over her shoulder. They walked out. He put this concealed it. >> That's one already used. >> And the girl in the ill shirt picked this up off the selling floor and walked out with it. >> Okay. All right. >> But it never came out the store. >> My point is it never came out the store. >> What? >> I stopped you outside the store. >> It didn't come out the store. They never moved out that door. Tell the truth. Tell the truth. >> The woman was even certain about a black bag that hadn't left the store. Clearly aware of the stolen items inside. It seemed she had a keen understanding of what legally constituted stealing. >> All right. >> Once you walk out that door, then you're stealing. >> Sure. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Uh guys, listen. Everyone, uh you're stealing that. Guys, listen. You're being placed under arrest for shoplifting. Okay. >> Stop. >> Nothing walked out that door. You're being placed under arrest. >> I never got back. >> I'm telling you. Just put your hands behind your back. It's going to place >> resistant. Come on. >> I know you're not. I know you're not. >> I will take care of bring >> right now. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. Turn around. >> Let me just say I am. Please don't grab me. I said I will. >> Put your hands behind your back right now. Turn around. >> All right. Can I Can I turn around? >> Turn around. Let me go then. Turn around. >> Let me go. I know the law. >> Turn around. >> I know the law. Turn around and I'll turn around. Turn around. Be nice. Turn around right now. >> Be nice. Turn around. >> Be nice. Don't grab me. Don't >> Why is he >> Why is he doing that? >> I DIDN'T DO NOTHING TO HIM. >> RELAX. >> I DIDN'T DO NOTHING. >> RELAX. The camera was >> relax. Camera was showing. >> Turn around. Relax. >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. I'm not doing nothing. >> I'm not even resisting. I'm just standing. Put >> your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands on. >> When I tell you to do something, you do it. I thought it was you. It's up to me. >> You're hurting me. >> You're hurting me. >> Don't hurt me. >> Don't move. You're hurting me. >> Stop pushing me. Stop [ __ ] listening to me. I'm not pushing you. YES, YOU ARE. >> CALM DOWN. Calm down. >> She swatted the officer's hand when they tried to detain her. Yet immediately afterward, she positioned herself as the victim, acting as if she hadn't resisted at all. >> Try as hell. I DIDN'T RESIST. >> I know you didn't resist. >> I didn't resist. >> I saw that, sister. I didn't just get the my purse. You ain't ask. >> You ain't ask. >> Now get out my purse. >> Just be silent. >> You ain't ask. >> Be silent. >> Get out my purse. You didn't ask. >> Be silent. >> Just help. >> And I didn't resist. >> I didn't resist. >> And you know I didn't resist. Why you taking my apart? >> Ma'am, face the car. Don't move. >> No, you face the car. >> Don't resist. You're lying. >> Kick open your legs. Ma'am, kick open your legs for me. >> They're open. They're open. >> They're open. My legs are open. I'm not going to spread them as wide as you want. I ain't got no gun or nothing. >> I don't I'm not violent. I'm not a violent person at all. >> Okay. >> Ask anybody about Can I get my glasses off the ground? >> Right there. Right there. >> Thank you. >> Can I get my purse? >> Bring it all with us. It's all coming back with us. Come on. >> I want my purse. We'll get it. >> One might think she would start cooperating at this point, but no. She was completely different from the other suspects, fully aware of how to make things difficult for the officers and acted as if she had every right to do so. >> Stop pulling me. Stop. >> Well, then just walk. >> I'm walking. But he's pulling me. >> Walk in a straight line. >> Why you got to pull? >> Walk. >> Got nothing. What are you reaching FOR? >> I HAVE NOTHING. >> WHAT ARE YOU REACHING FOR? >> Stay right there. Stop. >> Get off me. I have nothing. >> I have nothing. Officer, I told him I have nothing and I have nothing. Get off me. Get the off me. GET OFF ME. I HAVE NOTHING. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> I SAID I HAVE NOTHING. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> Can you not pull my arm? >> Get in the car. >> Thank you. I will. Can I get up? I CAN'T GET IN A car like this. I'm 55 years old. Who the you think you pulling on and pushing on? >> Don't push me. Don't push me. >> Get in the car. >> Don't push me. >> Think you are? >> Even back at the police station, her rage remained intense. Each I did nothing completely contradicted by the stream of insults she hurled. >> I did everything that told me to do and he going to manhandle me. >> Damn. Stand up for me, man. You suck my dick. Stand up. Don't let him touch. Please don't let him touch. >> I DON'T WANT HIM TO TOUCH ME, >> MAN. Don't let him touch me. >> Stand up. >> YOU CAN'T. I DON'T WANT HIM BOTHERING ME. TOUCHING ME. HE CAN'T HANDLE me enough. >> All three suspects were charged with shoplifting. Meanwhile, this woman also was charged with resisting arrest. Trying to hide theft and challenge the police only makes things worse. All three suspects refused to cooperate, but surveillance video proved the truth beyond doubt. Even more astonishingly, after assaulting a restaurant employee, the woman insisted [music] that the officers worked for her. >> Listen, move your finger. >> Your job is to move your mother finger because you work for me. >> My hair is wet. My bob is wet. My shirt is wet. He hit me with a drink. >> On the 25th of August, 2024, [music] officers responded to a restaurant after receiving a report of a disorderly woman. She was accused of getting into a physical altercation with [music] an employee. When the officers arrived, she denied all of the allegations, but her attitude was anything but calm. >> Are you guys okay? Uh, >> she attacked him a bit. She was throwing glasses and everything. >> Okay. >> Okay, ma'am. >> No. No, you will not act like I'm the problem. >> I'm not. I'm not. >> Okay, good. Calm down then. >> No, I'm fine. >> Go speak to that officer, please. >> I thought that you were acting. >> No. No. So, you can tell >> B I D A L. >> Talk to the >> And hold on one sec. Hold on one second. >> What department are you with? John's Creek. >> You're with John's Creek. Okay. And you are B I D A L. Point your sergeant out right now. >> There's no sergeant. >> Okay. Call one. I'm done talking. Call one. Call a sergeant first. >> Excuse me. Call a sergeant first. >> The officers decided to split up with one group questioning the woman while the other interviewed the restaurant [music] staff to gather their statements about the incident. >> She hit me so bad. She threw away a lot of stuff inside the restaurant. She put to a lot of customers and the manager here. She don't have money to pay. But he have a little issue because she don't have to. >> She was super nice at first. She got here and a half. She got a drink. Then she like met a couple who was sitting in the corner. They got in conversation. She got another round of drink. And the guys bought two round of shots for her. So she got before at least I don't know here. She got two shots, two drinks. She in her tap was only two of her drinks, one of her uh food, her meal. She was acting nicely. >> I witnessed it all and I wanted >> Okay. There was >> no everything was great. There was no tension, nothing. Eventually, a couples left. She also asked for a check. Start getting abusy. I'm running around. I give her a check. She give me the card. I run the card. Card charge only 10 bucks because there's my system says it's insufficient funds. I bring it back. Can you please check your card? Maybe some kind of mistake. You know what happens. She's like in. I'm like, darling, I'm not working just with you. Please check your card. I'll be with you in a second. I'm coming back. She was giving me card the second time. I'm running again. Now it's charging 14 bucks and it's still not an after card with the whole bill. I was like, "Sweetheart, please make sure." And she's like, "You need to slow down." Like, "Sweetie, once again, I can't stay with you." She's like, "I need to check my bank. I need a Wi-Fi password." I explained for her to get our Wi-Fi. Spent a couple of minutes making sure she finally going to get connected. After this, I was like, "Okay, I'm going to go." She's like, "No, you need to stay with me." I'm like, "Once again, I got the customers that are looking right now at us. They waiting for me. I'm going to go back." After this, she started yelling, "So, I need to come back." I went and escooled her to make sure that she's going to be all right because once again I got a bunch of customers. As soon as he came to her, things escalated. I haven't heard what was happening. I just see she started yelling at him, throwing stuff at him, throwing glasses, almost hit couple of the customers with the glasses. Like she was throwing stuff around everywhere. >> Back with the suspect, her confrontational attitude continued. However, unlike the employees accounts, she insisted that she was the victim of the incident. [music] >> Look at my hair. Touch my hair. >> What's wrong with my hair? What happened? What happened? >> Touch my hair. >> I see it. I see. Touch it. >> Okay. If you're not touching my hair, I'm not talking. Can you touch my hair? >> Hang on, ma'am. >> Do you Okay, [ __ ] both of you guys. >> Okay, ma'am. Find out what happened. Why don't >> I just literally asked you to touch my hair so I can explain my story and you refused. So, I'm not talking. >> Something happened. Did you call your sergeant? >> He's coming. >> So, I told the guys, call the police because she start threw away everything like salt, the paper we have in the table. >> I don't know. I feel so. >> Are you okay? >> Yeah. I'm so like I don't know so nervous. >> Yeah, it's okay. You know, we're here. >> Yeah. So, especially with the customer up front. >> I talked to the GM. He's the owner. >> Okay. >> And I don't know. She's getting mad because but honestly, it's a lot of glass. You want to see >> the customer see a lot of customer. >> Mhm. >> You don't want to touch because you refuse to touch the evidence. >> What happened to your hair? >> I specifically asked you to touch my hair. >> Are you touching my hair? And nobody's [laughter] touching your hair. >> Okay. Well, good day. >> Nobody's touching your hair. >> We'll wait for your boss. >> So, we don't even know. >> Can you tell that my hair is wet? >> Can you tell that my hair is wet? >> Can you see that my hair is wet? This person threw a drink at me first. The employee of the restaurant. He hit me with a glass drink upside my [ __ ] head and I fought him back. >> So, she admitted to her actions and explained why she did them. Meanwhile, witnesses inside the restaurant also confirmed her behavior. Trying to calm down with meal. I'm not coming at you. I'm calm. Right. So I am calm. When When did this all >> start? I am calm. It just started a second ago. >> Why you yelling? Are you yelling at me? >> I'm I'm not yelling. I'm a motivational speaker. So I'm elevating like motivational >> and at the end of the day I'm going to be clear for your body camera in hopes that it's on. >> So at the like I said turn towards the be to the title of the restaurant. Do that first. >> Do that first. >> We already did that. You have so senior patron. You have the I'm not corresponding with you at all in any way, shape, form or fashion. No, only your superior. She went var [laughter] I mean I'm not kidding. She almost killed that woman with the long brown hair. We were sitting right next to her. >> I mean that that was like like Trump. It was like right by her head. >> Do you know what vehicle she drove through or >> the Jeep in the front? >> That's hers. Yeah, cuz she was going to get in it and I started screaming. >> So, the officer has all this. Yeah. >> Two kids out front >> and management offices not wanted to come back in. >> While the employees, witnesses, and the available evidence all pointed to the woman as the one who started the incident, she appeared completely unaware of that. Instead, [music] she continued portraying herself as the victim, delivering her claims in what came across as a theatrical, self-pittitying tone. What you tell him? because he was pointing towards the door >> and then I said, "Hold on. Wait, I have enough money. Just give me a second." >> And then next thing you know, a drink is upside. >> Really? >> Yes. >> And you were standing at the time >> and I was just standing there right by the >> He had already >> Now, did you throw anything at him? >> No, >> you didn't throw anything. >> No. So, >> not until he threw something on me. >> So, before Okay. But you did throw something after. >> No, >> you didn't throw nothing >> after the entire incident. I didn't know what to do. My anxiety was triggered and I just blacked out at that point. >> You don't know me just cuz everything was just a blur after that. >> He hit me with a drink. It went in my eyes. It went in my hair. It's all over my shirt. >> So we don't get hit by this color. >> And that's why I kept asking, can you feel my shirt? Just touch my shirt. >> Yeah, I see. Oh, it's so I can see. >> No, you're touching the side of my shirt. >> I'm not supposed to touch people. You know what I'm saying? >> No. You guys put people in all type of detain. >> No, I would never. >> You detain people. You do everything. Touch my shirt. >> Don't touch your shirt, man. That's >> because you don't want to do your job. >> Why is that? Why you saying that? >> Because why wouldn't you touch my shirt for evidence? >> Because that's not >> Evidence is important in every case, especially when law enforcement is called. So, I will be activating absolute internal affairs on you not wanting to touch evidence. I'm soaked and I'm wet. >> At this point, the woman realized the situation was not unfolding the way she wanted. She decided to [music] take matters into her own hands by putting on a pair of glasses to appear more credible, then started live streaming on her phone while lecturing the officers [music] with her own interpretation of the law. >> I had to defend myself in order to make it out safely. >> And now these officers are here. I've asked them to touch my shirt. I've asked them to touch my hair. I've asked them to help me prove that I'm soaked because I am drenched in a margarita that I did not drink. >> Go ahead. >> So, as a result of that, >> um, I have complaints across the board at this point and we're going to make this public because, you know, Superwoman don't deserve this. I don't deserve this. You know, you guys know my family. You know who I am. You know what I do and all over me not paying fast enough? This happened again. >> You know, stay over here. >> You know that I stood around all excuse me. >> No, I'm not going to excuse you. Listen to me. You are detained at this point. And if you do not listen, I'm going to go in handcuffs. Okay. Step up. That's fine. That's fine. Step up, guys. I'm taking a picture and a video of the title of the restaurant. Ma'am, >> and this guy is on his white supremacy shirt. >> You're going to go in handcuffs in a second if you don't stop. >> You can't put me in handcuffs if you wanted to. You know [snorts] why? Well, let me tell you why you can't put me in handcuffs. >> Because I have not done anything wrong. Defending myself is not a crime. No matter how bad your white ass wanted to be. >> Mhm. >> Uhhuh. >> There. Are you done? >> No. No, I'm not. >> Are you done? Me either. I'm not. That's why we are still recording for the next 15 minutes and then I can start it over. Listen, move your finger. Your job is to move your mother finger because you work for me >> and I don't deserve this. >> I don't deserve you. >> And I don't deserve this. >> Of course, nothing the woman did changed the outcome of the disturbance she had caused earlier. At that point, the officers decided to take action. >> You have not seen the beginning of the video. minds. >> Do you understand what I'm saying? >> And it's not the it's not the truth. What has happened here is not the truth. >> Okay. >> And what he saw is not the truth. >> And I'm telling you to grab the beginning of the video. >> We will. >> And you're not grabbing the beginning of the video. I have the right to defend myself >> in court. Yes, ma'am. >> No. He hit [laughter] me first. >> Oh, you mean out here? >> Evidently, the video says something different. >> It's not true. It's not true. >> Do you know that I have managed to get five police officers fired in my career as a result of this poor policing? >> Do you know that? >> I know that. >> Sure. Absolutely. >> I need to go to the hospital. I'm going to the hospital. >> All right. Come on. We'll get you checked out. >> Thank you. I am absolutely so in John at this point. And this is Oscar. Oscar as well. Spread your feet. >> I spreaded them once. >> I spreaded them multiple times. >> My hair is wet. My bob is wet. My shirt is wet. He hit me with a drink. He should be going to jail. >> All right, I'm going to have >> You guys are so racist. >> Ma'am, >> you're racist. You're racist. Can you listen to me for a second? Cuz I want to finish my job and my previous flawed, imperfect record that is also not true has resulted in you guys making this poor decision. >> If you thought the woman's arrest had brought the situation to an end, unfortunately, her arrogance said otherwise. Even inside the patrol car, she continued causing problems and moments later, she ended up face down on the ground. >> This is my son. You're doing this to my kids. Get out. DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. >> I'm sick of you right everybody. It's good. It's good. >> I'm sick of you right here. >> I hope you try to family size.
