pushers. Put this down. You're not putting this back on and you're not leaving. >> Yes, I am. Let go of my stuff. And then you're going to be sued for doing this to me. >> You do what you need to do. >> Yeah, because I know you're illegally holding me. >> That's what happened when a shoplifter tried to play the victim to escape the consequences of her actions. But what if you were a shoplifter who chose to run from your crimes instead of facing them? >> Get out. I didn't have anything to do with this. >> Yeah. >> Don't Don't rush me up. I'll get down. I will get down. >> And there were plenty more tricks. All coming up in today's video. When Walmart shoplifterss get caught and still push their luck with cops. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with the woman who tried to fake a medical situation to avoid the theft allegations. >> Matter of fact, that's that's what I have on video here of here. You can see her bag is so so full. And then when when she came, >> you would like to deny me life saving my medical device. >> You could be reasonable. >> On the 4th of March 2024, officers responded to a reported retail theft involving a woman suspected of concealing multiple items beneath her jacket. Upon arriving at the scene, the store's loss prevention employee even provided evidence proving the theft. >> So, she was at Sephora. >> Yeah, there's a Sephora inside of Kohl's. I was watching the cameras. I saw that she had a bag like underneath her jacket, which I thought was strange. I started to watch her on cameras and and I saw that she would select items off the shelves, put them into the bag. The bag was getting bigger and then eventually she exited the store without paying. I confronted her. I said, "Hey, I'm lost with clothes. I'd like you to, you know, give me my stuff back." She pinged ignorance. I don't know what you're talking about, man. Get away from me. I don't have nothing. I said, "Why don't you just give me the stuff back? We'll trespass you. You know, you'll be on your way." She said, "I don't have anything. Get away from me." And then she she ran some poles over this way. She went into Firestone here and her bag was very full at that time. Um, matter of fact, that's that's what I have on video here of here. You can see her bag is so so full. And then when when she came out of the bathroom there, I didn't follow her into the bathroom. I just waited, you know, and then when she came out, her bag was flat like a pancake. And so obviously I knew something's got to be going on. >> So is that stuff you recovered from there? >> Correct. Correct. So she ran a millennium. She was detained or what whatever's going on over there. >> So you you already you already moved the stuff over there, right? >> I Huh. >> You already removed the stuff, right? >> No. No. This bag is just as is as I found it. >> Okay. >> I didn't do nothing with it yet. I just came outside the way we don't disrupt. I didn't want to disrupt their business. >> Okay. Oh, they >> I didn't go through this yet, but I know it. I just took a peek and I've seen a couple things of coals like that, so I know I know it's in there. >> You want um since you have Do you mind pulling them out? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let me just save this real quick. >> Meanwhile, officers approached the woman after she fled to a medical center and she immediately began creating her own version of the situation in an attempt to deflect anything the police brought up. >> Hello, ma'am. He chased me across traffic. >> Okay. It's probably because >> maybe you had stuff that didn't belong to you. >> He's accusing me of that. No, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Okay. >> He said, "So if nothing happened you and I said that's fine. You can trespass me." >> Okay. >> I said, "I've been walking today. >> Did you want to talk with me outside just so we're not in a doctor's office?" >> Yeah. >> I called my husband because he would not stop following me. Like he he like chased me all the way across the street. I had to like >> run through oncoming traffic to try to get away from >> Understood. Yeah. So, we're we'll make it right whatever is going on. >> Um, first and foremost, so I like to u stay safe and so he the guy who is following you, he called us. Um, and then I guess did you also call us as well? >> Yeah, I don't know if I didn't get routed to the right place or what. It >> it did come through. >> I hung up when I got in here. The lady let me in here and she said she would call the police >> and I said okay and they said I could sit down. >> Yeah. So it did come through. >> Hello. >> All right. Um so first and foremost I just want to make sure everyone's safe. Um >> yeah, can you escort me away from here so he can't follow me anymore? >> So he is not here. So he was here and he's over at Firestone now. If you were this woman, then getting rid of the stolen merchandise beforehand was probably exactly what made you feel so confident claiming innocence. So, complying with the officer's request was easy. >> Is Is it okay if I search it and make sure? >> Yeah. >> In your jacket. >> 218. Thank you. >> All right. I'm right outside the front door. if you want to see. >> But other than this, how's your day? How's your day going? Other than this craziness, >> this is my first errand to start running. It's a nice day. >> Oh boy. >> I'm out walking to my errands. I went into Kohl's to look for something. And I am walking out. I'm like almost out of the parking lot. This guy's running after me. Like I don't know who he is. He's like in plain clothes. >> Is it okay if I take your ID out? >> I was going to tell you. Absolutely. Yeah. It's it's out. And >> okay. >> Um Oh, well, no, cuz you don't need that. >> Okay. Well, as soon as uh it's determined whether a crime was or was not committed, um I I will >> I didn't commit a crime. >> Well, we're going to find out. >> I don't have anything on me. I don't I did not commit a crime. >> Okay. So, I'm just saying that because that guy's accusing you of it. >> Yeah, I know. But I don't have anything on me. I I did not I did not steal anything from you. >> So So we're going to check the cameras at Kohl's and if it's determined that you did, then I will get your ID. That's how that works. Okay. >> Okay. So I can leave in the meantime. >> Nope. You're detained. Not allowed to leave. If you try to leave, you'd be arrested. >> How can you detain me when I haven't committed a crime? >> Because someone >> I'm accusing him of a crime and you're not detaining him. >> The woman clearly knew what she was doing. placing herself and the store employee in the same victim position to create confusion and make the situation harder for officers. Of course, things did not go the way she wanted. >> Someone in plain clothes chasing me. I didn't. No crime is committed. You have no proof. You have no right to detain. >> Yes, I do. >> You do. So, you're not leaving. And if you leave, you're going to go to jail right now. So, you're staying right here. >> That's That's not true. >> That's how it works. >> I already explained that to you, right? >> I know my rights and I have not done anything wrong. You cannot detain me. >> Someone to accuse you of a crime. >> I'm accusing him of a crime and you're not detaining him. >> So he is whole security. >> It doesn't matter who he is. You cannot harass people. You cannot put your hands on people. You cannot chase people. I'm a female. >> We are not holding court in the streets right here. Okay. This is how it's going to work. You're going to stay here >> until we figure out what's going on. >> You know that that's illegal. >> So, okay. I'm not gonna argue with you. >> It's illegal. >> I have not done anything wrong. >> Put your Put this down. You're not putting this back on and you're not leaving. >> Yes, I am. Like, how am I stuck? >> How did you >> You're trying to leave and that's not happening. >> Until we figure out what's going on. >> To leave. >> Let go. Let go of the jacket. Stop it. Let go of the jacket. >> Let go of the jacket. >> There's nothing in it. >> You have no right to leave right now. And you're not leaving. So, you're being detained until we figure out what's going on. >> Oh my god. Oh my god. I know my rights. You guys are going to be in so much trouble. >> Okay. Well, you're being detained. >> Can you please let go? >> How far am I going to get with cuffs on? >> I know. >> Calm down. >> Let go of me. >> Calm down. >> You're the one who got uncom. Is your body camera on? I was trying to put my jacket on. >> She showed absolutely no signs of taking responsibility. And once things stopped going her way, she quickly shifted to portraying herself as someone in need of medical attention. I know you don't want to because you're you would like to deny me life saving my medical device. >> Okay. >> You could be reasonable and you could be holding it in your hand right now. >> No, you could be reasonable, too. Not do certain things, but >> I didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> Is that fine? I don't need any medical attention. >> We're going to use ours and check. >> I don't need any medical I don't want medical attention. >> We're going to check it. >> So, look, >> I don't want medical attention. I I want you to explain to him how the CGM works. >> They're not here to do that. I don't Are you okay? >> Uh, no. They're not allowed. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Well, let it play out. Okay. Get your test and just relax. I'm going to be around the corner. All right. >> Can you take my stuff? >> Not yet, but he can. >> Not yet. >> Why? >> It's all right. Just let it. They're going to do what they do. >> This is her husband. He's cool. >> I appreciate you coming. This is tight. >> So this guy, the guy with the green shirt, he was following you. >> Creepy guy. >> Yeah. So he was following you. Um when did you notice him starting following you? >> Oh my goodness. I get so many >> never stops, dude. In the end, the woman was ultimately charged with retail theft, resisting detention, and tampering with evidence. Trying to escape the consequences only made the situation worse because every reckless decision after the theft became even more evidence against her. Starting with the woman making choices that only pushed her into a worse and worse situation, >> man. You know, I got babies. I got to get back to I didn't know nothing. On the 3rd of June 2024, police received a report from Walmart about a group of professional shoplifterss operating inside the store. At that moment, officers and loss prevention employees stopped them. But of course, the suspects had already prepared a way to cover themselves. >> No, I need to see receipt. I got an online receipt. That's not online receipt. That's not online receipt. That's online receipt. That's not online. That's what gave me. That's supposed to have a serial number on there. Where's the serial number? >> That's what they said. That's what my mom received. >> That's not That's not an online receipt. >> So, we do two things. We going to pay for it or we going to take this or you guys going to come with us. That's not an online receipt. Our receipts don't look like that. >> That's That's what she said to me. >> That's not an online receipt. I'm telling you. So, unless you want to get in trouble, that's not an online receipt. That's what you >> I don't care what they sent you, but it's not your >> You walked out with it. You have an ID. >> Do you have an ID? >> I don't have no ID, >> bro. >> How did Did you guys drive here? >> No, I just got My aunt dropped me off. She said she going to pick me up a TV. She sent me this receipt online. >> First off, you got an online TV. You pick it up from over there. >> I pick it up from there. >> You No, you don't. You don't pick it up from back there online. Online. >> I showed the customer. No. Listen to me. All online orders are picked up in on in online. >> A fake online receipt had been prepared so they could walk out with whatever they wanted. The man clearly showed his frustration after realizing the plan had been exposed, but the woman was the one who suddenly did something unexpected. I don't think I get ready. I got a female running from the Walmart. >> She's right here running through the parking lot. Get your ass down. Get down right now. >> I didn't do nothing. >> Yeah. Get out. >> Have nothing to do with it then. >> Get down. >> Don't Don't rush me up. I'll get down. I will get down. >> Put your hand on your back. I will get down. Do it now. >> I will get down my phone. my phone, man. I didn't Well, I don't buy no numbers in MY PHONE. NO, THEM FOLKS. I DIDN'T HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. >> Unlike what she claimed, her decision to run away and even ditch her jacket to change her appearance made her look pretty experienced at this. Even worse, she was already trying to shift the blame onto her accomplice. >> I just wanted to start with them and they told me to own the car. >> Stand up. >> I doing all that running >> because I have kids. Well, that's your fault. >> I didn't know they had none OF THAT GOING ON. >> I'M GOING TO RUN HER real quick. >> Please. Please. >> Hey, you want to go? >> Yeah, that's fine. >> I'm mad. >> Well, now you definitely going to jail. >> No, please. I DIDN'T KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THAT. >> You want to check her real quick? >> No, please. >> Please. I didn't >> chill out. Bro, I didn't know nothing about this. >> Cuz you was running. >> No, I just Bro, I knew you said I was going to get LOCKED UP. >> YOU SAID that I pushed it out. He homie told me to hold the car. I got scared. Please understand. >> Please understand. >> You got anything? >> I got scared, baby. I got scared. >> I got scared. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Sit down. >> No, please. Come on. Come on. Sit up. It's all right. Just sit up. >> Just sit up. >> Come on. Sit up. >> Don't make it hard. Don't make it harder on yourself. Please. Just sit down. >> Oh my god. >> Come on. We'll call you. Have a seat. Have a sit now. >> There you go. Relax. >> Relaxing. Put your legs in. >> No. Can we not close the door? >> Yeah. We got to close. >> Stay right there. Yeah. Hey, how brought to uh Walmart? >> Cuz I didn't know none of this was going on. They sent me. They said, "No, I did not promise." >> Meanwhile, one officer stayed inside the loss prevention office to review everything. And all the evidence pointed to the group working together the entire time. >> I stopped him cuz I saw him coming. When I was bringing that other TV back in, I saw him coming with another TV cuz he was with him. And I said, "Let me see your receipt." He showed me the same picture the other guy tried to see. >> Oh, they're trying to see him. We got >> All right. We got her dumb ass jumped over the the wood line behind the Oliver. I'm like, you ain't got nowhere to go. I'm like, you hear the sirens? You might run for me, but the radio. You ain't going to run the radio. >> I'm cuz >> How much was that TV? >> Well, it's two of them. So, they 420 a piece. >> Oh, perfect. They basically working together. >> So, but he took off though. >> Yeah, he took off. He He went He pretty much went on foot and went down that way. >> Which one? >> The The one >> He was on foot. >> Hold on. You said which one with the red shorts? Where he go? >> Downstairs. I don't know where he >> got the black. The one him that I stopped. >> Yeah. >> He went out and walked down this way. >> Okay. Sorry. I'll take her. I mean, I can only charge her for one TV, though, cuz she only came out with one. That's fine. Yeah. >> How much is the the single TV? Uh was it 428 on the receipt? Back at the scene, as the suspect was escorted back by officers, what would you do if you were in her position? Accept the consequences of your actions or react like she did by trying to make herself look pitiful. >> Okay. >> Is that too? >> You know, I got babies. I got to get back to I didn't know. I'm unaware. I need to get >> I need something to drink my so I can swallow. >> Let me see if I can find some. I don't have anything on me. >> Thank you. >> Let me see if that is. >> Oh my god. Let me see. >> Oh my. >> Look at Make sure you're coming. Okay. Stay right there. I'm the only one to hang up. >> Only one to call right now. >> Huh? >> Sa. Please don't. >> Just calm down. I know you're upset. I understand that. But just give a second. Okay. Sit back. Why are you so Why is your Why are you so wet? You fall in the water. >> Just sit back. >> I don't know. >> Just sit back. She acted sorry afterward, but if she had not run, things could have ended differently. And she should have known that because this was not her first time. >> So these are two misdemeanors. >> Uh, yep. >> Yes. Two misdemeanors. You say you've been arrested in the past? >> Yes. >> For what? >> Um, >> same thing. Obstruction. >> Obstruction. Like that's running. >> Yeah. When you resist arrest pretty much. >> Yeah. I um then I got um domestic violence. >> I know it's been a similar situation like this when I was in like a um she's a 16 year old like 14 year old and she was around my age when I was 19. >> Mhm. >> And she went to Walmart and she start u stealing in there and I didn't know anything about it and I went out and I walked out with her just by me walking out. They put me in headc. >> Are you on probation? >> Because she was underage. Are you on probation? >> No. >> I just I don't understand why you ran. I mean, you you make >> I went in there to give me some drugs. >> Okay. But you make you make it worse by running. >> Huh? >> All you had to do was be honest. >> Yeah. Yes. And I was honest. >> Okay. But then you ran. So >> I ran. >> That that makes you look like you weren't being honest. >> In the end, she was charged with petty theft, shoplifting, and obstruction of justice. She should be held accountable for her actions and understand that running only made the situation worse and strengthened the case against her. Next, another chaotic moment, but this time not involving a thief. >> I got to go to work and y'all pulling me out for SOME [ __ ] CUZ IT'S A GAME. IT'S ALL FUN TO Y'ALL. >> STOP. KNOCK IT OFF. >> Arrest me then. >> Come over here. >> You >> come over here. If you're NOT GOING TO ARREST ME, THEN GET OUT the >> On the 23rd of March, 2026, police stopped a vehicle after its license plate showed a suspended driver's license status in the system. But the moment officers approached the car, the woman immediately showed an aggressive attitude, causing the situation to quickly become tense. >> Hi, ma'am. How are you? I'm Sergeant McGowan from Harrison. >> I do have to let you know I have a camera on. It's our policy. Okay. Do you have your driver's license, registration, insurance with you? >> Can I tell people? >> Are you the registered owner of the car? >> I am. Your driver's license is suspended. >> Yeah. You saw my car at the time. >> What's that? >> That's for license. >> Well, it's suspended in the system. That's why I'm stopping you. >> Well, that's uh And I don't understand how you guys run a tag. I >> We can run any tag that goes past in the whole state of New Jersey. Oh, you drove past me, right? I ran pretty much every tag that drives past me as long as I can see it. >> I can't find my registration. >> Looks like you have a lot of tickets in there. So, >> yeah. For the same stupid stuff y'all pulling me over for. >> Well, if you know your driver's license is suspended, why are you still driving? >> I'm not suspended. >> Your driver's license is suspended. >> I'm not suspended. >> You are? >> I don't know why it's not I can't find my registration. I had it up there. That's where I put it when the last police officer pulled me over. I put it back up there. I don't have my registration. >> Do you have your insurance? Where are you able to pull your insurance on your phone? My insurance is on my phone. >> Okay. >> I don't have my registration. Y'all stole that. So I can go to court and sell you sh Y'all always coming up with something. I can't wait to get out this state. Stupid [ __ ] up there. That's what you stole. >> I didn't steal anything, ma'am. This is the first time that I'm meeting you. >> Speaking to you, sir. >> You said that's what you stole. >> I'm speaking to you, sir. >> You are speaking to me. >> I am not. Now I am raising my puppy. >> The woman seemed extremely annoyed about dealing with the police again. Even while denying the issue with her documents, officers contacted her insurance company, and her reaction afterward only made things worse. Your insurance company, I just called them Progressive. They're saying that the policy that you gave me is canceled. So, do you have any other insurance proof? >> I don't. >> Okay. So, you don't have insurance ON YOUR CAR? >> NO. >> OKAY. DO YOU have somebody that you can call that can come out here and give you a ride cuz your car is going to be impounded? >> My policy is not expired. They're not saying that it's expired. They're saying that it's inactive, which is probably for non-payment. >> No, it's not. >> Okay. Well, do you have any other proof of insurance? >> That is insurance. >> I paid a portion of it. I still paid for if I I still paid for something. I'm still entitled to money on if I get an accident or not. I'm That's still money is paid for. >> That's not what they're saying. >> I don't give a what they SAY THAT WAS PAID FOR. >> I'm asking you a question. Do you have any other proof of insurance? >> I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE. THAT'S IT. WHAT DOES IT SAY ON THERE? I'm paid up until a certain date. >> No, that's not what it says. That's not what it says. >> Okay. Step out of the car. >> What did you say? >> Step out of the car. >> Did you specify? >> I haven't raised my voice to you one time. >> I don't give a what you did. >> So, this is your problem. It's not mine. >> And I'm trying. >> I got to go to work and y'all pulling me over FOR SOME [ __ ] CUZ IT'S A GAME. IT'S NOT FUN FOR Y'ALL. STOP. >> You >> if you keep it up, you're going to be considered a disorderly person. >> You and your rules. >> Okay. So, do you have somebody that YOU CAN CALL? >> I DON'T. I DON'T. >> OKAY. WELL, WHERE do you work? >> I don't know where the I am. Is it some I'm sick of this with y'all toy cops. >> Do you think she intentionally acted aggressive toward the officers just to avoid taking responsibility for her traffic violations? It became even more obvious when she was willing to abandon her own car and walk away, forcing police to immediately take action. >> Here's your driver's >> Don't grab stuff out of my hand like that. I didn't give you your tickets yet. >> You can't. You ain't going to do about it, you piece of [ __ ] >> Come over here now. Don't walk away from the stop. You're not released yet. You're going to get yourself arrested. Knock it off. >> Arrest me then. >> Come over here. >> You >> come over here. >> If you're not going to arrest me, then get out the out of my face. >> Don't walk away from my traffic stop. It's not done. You said he was going. >> Drop it. >> Stay up against the car and stop moving. >> Stop resisting. >> Stop resisting me. Get in the car. Let me get my foot. >> Get in the car. >> Let me get my foot in first, YOU KNOW. JUST THROW ME IN THERE. >> Piece of [ __ ] >> Cuz you're under arrest. >> What for? You said you was taking my car. That's the end of it. >> No, it's not. I didn't finish my traffic stop and you walked away and I told you to stop. >> No, you were. You said you're going to Got the car. I can pound the car. >> Okay. >> I'm not going to wait for the truck to come. I'm leaving. >> I didn't tell you to wait for the truck to come. >> Exactly. So, I'M GOOD TO GO. >> NO, I didn't give you your tickets. >> You don't have You're going to give them to me at THE JAIL. >> YOU'RE NOT GOING to jail. >> You weren't to me now. >> The woman still refused to take responsibility for her actions, showing no remorse at all, even while being escorted away in handcuffs. >> Please don't put it on me. >> No, you're getting a seatelt. It's the law. >> No, don't put it on me. >> You're getting a seat belt. That's the law. >> No, don't put it on me. Please don't put it on me. >> Scooch over this way. You're just making this harder on yourself. Scooch over this way. I don't care which one you can get it in. Step out. Go around the back of the car for the door on the other side. Easy one for you. >> The woman was charged with driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice. Actions have consequences, and refusing to stay calm or take responsibility can quickly turn a simple traffic stop into multiple criminal charges. Next, this woman showed absolutely no remorse for what she had done. >> And that's it. >> Oh, two credit cards. It was two two cars and $50. >> Oh, my keys. My >> Get inside the car. Nothing. Ma'am, >> get inside the car. >> Get inside the car. >> On the 14th of June, 2024, police received an emergency call from a woman who had discovered that her card and personal belongings had been stolen. To understand the situation more clearly, we will now hear the account from the victim. >> Good. Good. Um, so tell me what happened. Okay. So, we were at Paxton and I had put like my keys somewhere like right on top of like something I was looking for and then when I went to go get them, they were gone. Your keys? >> Yeah, like my my Well, it's >> so it had like money in it, all my cards, like uh my work key. >> Okay. >> And um >> inside Paxton, right? >> Yeah, this was inside Paxton. >> And then um yeah, like they were stolen. And then I the only reason I noticed is cuz like I got a notification from my bank that somebody had bought something from Foot Locker. >> Okay. >> So I ran to Foot Locker. When I walked and took into Foot Locker, they were there. >> Okay. >> But I didn't recognize them. >> The victim's card was later used at a nearby Foot Locker, which helped police quickly locate the suspect. However, all parties claimed they were innocent, raising suspicion. Can I go make my >> ma'am? Right here investigation. >> 10 or what? >> You got to be the police. Where's the baby in the stroller? >> Can you get the baby in the stroller? >> You need one. >> Now you bring the chain, right? >> So, where we going with my wallet? >> Right there. It's right there. the male subject outside of >> I'm sweating like >> I'm opening for my baby. >> Okay. Listen, >> ma'am. Ma'am, we ask you to stay over here. Now, I'm going to put you in the car, right? >> Here you go. Right here. I'm not moving around here. It's open later. If you acted like her as a thief, your behavior would show a complete lack of concern for your wrongdoing, which would only raise more suspicion about what you might do next. At that point, police would step in, just as they did with the suspect here. >> Don't play games with me right now. >> Your daughter is going to go with him. >> You're going to get inside. Look at me. Look at me. Hello. Is that her father? >> You're going to get in the police car without causing a problem. Okay. >> Get in the police car now. >> So, I'm getting arrested. Get in the police car now. Walk over here. >> He said I'm getting arrested. >> Listen to me. >> Your baby's right here. Come on. Sit inside of the police car. Okay. Sit inside the police car. Nobody's leaving until we say it's time to go. >> Did you double lock her? >> Yeah. >> All right. Sit inside the car. >> Stop talking. Stop. >> My baby. >> We are in control of this. Okay. Nobody's going to do nothing until we say so. Get inside the car. Sit inside the car correctly. >> So, I'm not >> Watch your legs. >> Let me get the You have them the receipt. >> Ma'am, what's your name? >> Shukanda. >> Chanda. >> Shuk. >> Okay. >> Right after that, police directly questioned her about the missing keys. Let's see how honest she really was. >> Why is this in your in your purse? >> Okay. Um, I'm going to be honest. I was like walking out of the store after I was looking for like a shirt to get >> what store >> packs on. >> Okay. >> And I seen the keys on the floor. >> Mhm. >> And instead of me being honest, I took the keys. >> Okay. >> And I'm not like that, honestly. >> Okay. >> And I know that I did a bad decision, >> but what happened after you took the keys? >> Um, I went and made a purchase. >> Where at? >> Okay. And then what? >> That was it. That was it? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Well, thank you for being honest with me. Okay. Let me uh let me talk to my officers over here and just sit tight. This is not yours? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Why is it in your wallet? >> I did. Like I said, instead of being honest, I went inside someone's things that didn't belong to me and I took it out. >> Okay. Although she claimed to be honest, she still hid some details until police pressed further. Officers then explained the situation to the man with her, who would also face consequences. >> Huh? >> Is he good to go or? >> Yeah, he's good to go. I just needed to find this. This belongs to the victim. >> And that's it. >> Oh, two credit cards. >> It was two two cars and $50. >> OH, >> WHAT'S YOUR NAME, SIR? >> My name Let me see your trespass from your ID. Don't give him nothing. >> Ma'am, get inside the car. >> Get inside the car. >> I AM SORRY. YOU AIN'T GIVING ME A CHANCE TO GET IN THE CAR. INSIDE THE CAR. >> LET ME GET IN THE CAR. >> Get inside the car. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> GET INSIDE THE CAR. >> WHY YOU PUSHING ME, BRO? >> Get inside the car. >> Get inside the car. >> Get you back. Next, this man ended up sending himself to jail over just $3.75. >> I said $375. Everything's recorded, sir. On the 4th of January 2024, officers were dispatched to an airport after receiving a report about a theft that had just occurred. The suspect was believed to be a man who had stolen a cup from a restaurant inside the terminal. Here's what happened next. >> Did you get a cup from Burger 21? >> Yes, she did. >> All right, guy. Listen, there's cameras all over the place. I'm going to ask you one more time. Did you take a cup from Burger 21? You came there. You asked for water. >> No, >> I thought you just got water. >> I'm sorry. >> I got water and they wouldn't have >> Okay. All right. Gentleman's wearing blue Adidas sweatpants, some Timberlins, and a black jacket. Has a brown curly afro. Manager of Burger 21 is identifying him as the person that took the cup. Just want to trust but verify. The man never admitted to what he had done. And because the cup itself was not expensive, both the officers and the employees tried to handle the situation calmly and give him an easy way out. >> 2004. >> She said it's $3.75 for the cup. She gave you a water cup. That's >> I just got a water. >> I understand that, man. But you took it. >> I don't even have $3 in. >> She'll get She'll get you. >> Jet Blue Flight 1365 to Cancun, Mexico. She'll get You'll get it's $3.75. You've got a 10. She'll bring you back your change. >> No. the >> Okay, listen, man. Bring it down. >> I'm not going to trust you with my [ __ ] bro. Calm the down. >> Clearly, if you were in this man's position, you should have followed what the officer suggested because in most situations, you could have been arrested immediately without being given another chance. But this man did the exact opposite, and his next move ended up costing him that opportunity. I said 375. >> You said $3. >> I said 375. Everything's recorded, sir. >> Stay up. Give me >> control 126. Show me in custody one. Stay there. >> Over just $3.75. He ended up putting himself in this situation. And it even seemed like he felt no guilt at all. What state? You live in New York still or no? I live here. >> You live here? You don't have an ID here at all? No driver's license, no learners permit or nothing? >> I'm sorry. >> You do have a suspended license in Florida. >> Control 136. He's >> got a >> He doesn't have one. >> It's on the um he has a birth to the airside or something. >> Birth certificate. That's all he had. His license is suspended. That's why he doesn't have an ID. >> The man was ultimately charged with public disturbance and resisting arrest. The moment you turn a small mistake into an argument with police, the consequences can become far worse than the original problem. Next, let's move into this dramatic scam bust operation. >> Yeah, I'm an actual cop. I'm I'm not a fake US marshal like you say you are. >> On the 23rd of May, 2025, deputies received a report about a terrifying scam after a victim claimed they had gotten an anonymous phone call from someone pretending to be a federal officer demanding payment for a fake fine. Police quickly responded and secretly moved into position at the money drop location, but within moments, everything escalated into a dramatic takedown. Caravan is still at the top of the driveway. Looks like a gap white hoodie. They're making the exchange right now. Stand by. >> Hey, we're halfway down. What do you want me to do? >> Units, go, go, go. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. GET ON THE GROUND. YOUR BACK. >> That caravan, that caravan, it's backing up. Do noting move. >> All right, trans back. Yep. Stay right there. Is he the guy that picked up the money last time? >> Okay. >> This man was the victim who originally reported the scam call, confirming that the officers had targeted the right suspect. Soon after the arrest, the suspect also began revealing his side of the story and explaining how he became involved in the operation. >> What's your name? >> Mahendra. >> Mahendra. Mahendra. Okay. You ever heard Miranda rights before? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. All right. So, I'm going to read videos. >> On videos. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand those rights? >> Yes, sir. >> With that in mind, do you mind talking to me? >> Yeah, I don't mind. >> Okay. So, what happened? >> Basically, one of the guy reached me out. He asked me like, "I have to go like I have to go at this location, pick up a package and just bring it back to the airport." >> Okay. >> And they will pay me like, thousand bucks. >> Where'd you fly out from? >> From Dallas. Okay. Where's this guy from? >> And I came from really from Pennsylvania to Dallas and then Dallas to here like connecting flights. >> Okay. So, you flew all the way to Dallas to pick up money? I I'm not sure what is what was in there. >> Really? Like I just got told like right this is where I have to pick up a package. Go to >> So you're tell you're telling me that when I dump your phone there's not going to be text messages and stuff on there talking about how you're going to get money from this guy. >> Yes. >> I just got the location. >> You just thought it was totally legit that you just come to some guy's house. >> I'm not sure. like they were like they were paying me 1 th000 bucks and I was just going through some stuff like I just had a baby and we are not meeting up the bills and everything and it was going to help me out a little bit. So that's why >> the man tried blaming his financial struggles for everything. But when detectives asked about the mastermind he suddenly claimed he knew almost nothing making the whole story seem suspicious. >> So do you know this guy at all? >> Never mind. How >> how did he contact you? It's like there are a few friends that that's where he came from. Why? >> So he's a friend of a friend. >> Yeah. Like two, three friends and then >> that guy knows him. >> So just all of a sudden he's like, "Hey, I know you're in Pennsylvania. I want you to fly to New Mexico to go pick up a package for me and I'll give you $1,000 for it." >> So basically what happened, I used to live in Virginia >> and I just moved down to Pennsylvania some time ago and we had a business in like Virginia. I never did this. That's my first time. I moved to Pennsylvania and it's a lot expensive and as of I'm working I'm not reaching the mids. So I was talking to my friend like all right this is the case I might do something like start working on the side to make extra money or my wife I'll take care of the baby and my wife can work. So that's I like we were just talking casually. >> Mhm. >> And one day he just suddenly called me and he was like I have something like that. if you want to do it, it's all good. I was like, okay, I just have to pick up pack and then I'm good. Like, is there any drugs or anything like that? But he was like, no, there's nothing drugs. I was like, okay. So, he told me like 2 days ago and like you have to fly there. I was like, okay. He was paying for all the tickets and everything and I flew here and happened. >> Okay. >> I didn't know anything about it. >> Is this the first time you've been here? >> Yes. >> Is this not the second time? >> No. Were you here last Sunday? I think it was you. >> No, it wasn't me. Then it was. >> Because of the victim's statement, the suspect's story quickly started falling apart, raising suspicions that he might have been the mastermind all along. And deputies immediately began confronting him about it. >> I think you're lying to us. >> Yeah. I mean, I'm I'm going to get all I have like you're trying to you're trying to steal my >> because you're facing >> You're going to stand right here. I'm going to make a phone call. Okay. >> Sure. >> Like I would not lie. Like I have 71. Okay. You're trying to cover your ass. That's what exactly you're trying to do. Because have you ever been to jail in the United States? >> No. No. >> I've never got convicted. >> Yeah. Well, the fear of you're very close to going there, my friend. >> Well, >> so I would I would understand why you would be untruthful with me and us right now. >> What? >> I do this for a living. >> I I totally understand, sir. I respect you. But at the same time, like I have nothing to hide that's going to save me. I'm just being honest to you. If I did something wrong, yeah, I have to face the consequences. But at the same time, I didn't know what was going on and all that. I was just picking up a package for somebody. >> If I knew, I would have never did this cuz I would rather work 80 hours a week than doing something like that. >> No, >> but >> I don't believe one thing you just told me. >> I used to work 120 hours a week, sir. But right now, the things are not that great. And I got offer for $1,000. I was like, "Okay, just package. I'll do it." >> Looks like you're doing all right with those brand new pair of Nikes. Brand new shirt, brand new pants. >> Yeah. >> If you still didn't understand what deputies meant, they had already noticed details like the suspect's clothes and jewelry, which completely contradicted the financial struggles he claimed earlier. Meanwhile, his phone kept receiving non-stop calls from someone else, revealing this scam operation was tied to an entire family network. This is Detective Jacobs with the Rioba County Sheriff's Office. We got your boy, and we're coming for you. Okay. Just put you on notice. You feel good about Do you feel good about yourself scamming old men out of their money? >> Was sure you >> Yeah, I'm an actual cop. I'm I'm not a fake US marshal like you say you are. >> I'm going to I'm going to find out who you are and I'm I'm going to put a warrant out for your arrest and I'm going to come personally put handcuffs on you. Oh, I will. >> Who do you think you are, sir? >> I'm the guy that's going to put a federal warrant out for your arrest eventually through the FBI. >> Oh, please. I would add that up. >> What do you got to say? >> Doesn't mean that I'm stupid if you're stupid. >> How about you send me a picture of you, then I'll send you a picture of me. >> Why don't you send me a picture of your wife? >> No, I'm good. >> I'll send a picture of me. No, just send you a >> If you're as big and bad as you think you are, just send you send a picture. >> Is he drunk? What? >> Sounds like >> I said if you think you're as big and bad as you are, just go ahead and send you a send this phone a picture. >> You're really far away. Can't hear you. Okay, have a good day. >> Mahendra was ultimately charged with fraud and conspiracy after deputies uncovered his involvement in a large scam operation targeting victims across multiple states. The lesson here is that quick money from suspicious jobs can destroy your future, especially when every small detail can expose the truth. What do you think about cases like this? Next, these suspects even begin instructing each other on how to shoplift. >> Are you 21? clean up. >> On the 18th of April 2024, police were dispatched to a Walmart after receiving reports of an ongoing theft. The suspects were identified as three individuals. Christopher, 45 years old, Caitlyn, 20 years old, and Sophia, 19 years old, who were pushing a shopping cart out of the store. At that moment, officers quickly stopped them before they could leave. This was what happened next. Okay. Yeah. 151. You said around too. And if you go in there right now, she got it up on her shoulder. All right. >> Okay. Well, we're going to figure out who's got what here in a sec. Who's got IDs? Pull it out. You ready, man? >> You got one? >> That's fine. We're in the AP office and just whenever you get here, we'll make sure. >> They were not surprised by the officer's request as they clearly knew what they were facing. At that moment, each item was checked to prove their act of theft. Who had this one right here? >> Shop looking bags where you just keep nothing in there but the stolen merchandise. Advanced retail theft techniques. Possession. >> Okay. No, no, no. >> Um, you want to give me that? That's going to be there 14 and I'll go absolutely get >> um Yeah, you search them. You can get out of here. >> Yeah. All right. Have a sit down. So, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to be searching both of the females. Do you have anything on you that's going to help me safely or hurt me? Is there anything that I should be aware of if you were to go to jail that they find that you will get additional charges? anything that you hid on you person while you were in Walmart. Immediately after that, a body search was conducted to ensure they carried nothing dangerous and had no stolen items hidden on them. >> Are you 21? Technically, you're not supposed to have that. >> It's even worse. do. >> Thankfully, it's only like a $15. This is where your Where's the car? You're good. Thus, unauthorized items were still found despite the officer's warnings. Additionally, the presence of an older man accompanying two young women he did not know also raised suspicion among the police. >> That's uh that's a bird that he's going. He's not. >> All three are going to go. >> What's this guy hanging out with these two young kids? I mean, they're not like kids, but they're like they're basically kids. >> Yeah. >> What's he doing? Hang out with them. >> Teaching them wayward. Actually, I would say uh >> career is teaching him and the other one to do. She's the only one, >> right? Or maybe she's just really bad at it. She's getting want to get caught. I'm sure they've all done it before. the one sitting in on the chair facing the computer monitor. She's so nervous that her karate just like pulsating in her neck. You can see it oppos or or that. >> According to the investigation, a background check revealed that all three had outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court and it seemed the man felt no remorse. >> A bun or something like something like this. >> I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. >> Get a bun or something. >> I mean, it will be, but we don't set it as us. instead of being set by the jail. >> All right, boss. Go ahead and stand side up. You turn your wrist. That does not look comfortable. >> I'm not going to be able to like my purse and my key and everything. >> Just made it. All right. All three were charged with retail theft and additional counts related to outstanding warrants for failure to appear. The lesson here was clear. Small acts of dishonesty could quickly escalate into serious legal consequences, especially when combined with repeated offenses and poor judgment. Even worse, the woman only made things worse for herself. >> Julia, Julia, >> Julia, stop. >> Julia, stop. Relax. >> No, I don't have it. Don't >> get off me. On July 28th, 2024, officers received a report from a Ross store about a woman who refused to leave despite being asked. Upon arrival, employees provided a brief account of the situation. She's been here a few times and we kicked her out, but right now we tried. She's like, "You're being um discriminatory." >> Why is she saying that? She black or something? >> No, she's not. >> Okay. Uh so you've told her to leave? >> Yeah, I have. >> Okay. Uh >> and she's like, "No." And I was like, "Are we waiting for someone?" I was like, >> "How about let's just let's just grab onto her, have her ID, and then we'll trespass her." >> Okay, that's fine. >> Cuz we did see some stuff that was in her purse, but we don't know if it's hers or not. >> Is it from your store, do you think? Or >> we don't I think so, cuz she came in here with an empty bag. >> Okay. >> And now that bag's not empty anymore. >> She also did have a ton of stuff in her car and we broke on top of it. Yeah. >> Do you want her Do you just want her gone? Do like What? out of the store. >> Do you want me to try to trespass her or just be like, "Get out of here." >> Just Yeah. Get out of here. >> Okay. Do So you And I I just want to try I understand. Do you want us to go through like the official trespass process? >> No. >> Oh, cool. All right. We'll scare her a little bit. And just so you know, she gets one opportunity. So, I'm going to say, "Get your stuff and go." If she says no, if she does not start doing immediately, she's going to go to jail. Just so you know. Uh, okay. Cool. Thanks, man. I'll be with you if I need anything from you. You can kind of just point me in her direction. Immediately after the officers approached the female suspect. Despite their presence, she appeared fairly calm yet extremely evasive. >> How's it going? >> Oh, I'm all right. How are you? >> All right. They want you to to get going. >> Okay. That's not mine anyways. >> Sorry. >> So, what's in here? Do you want to show me what you have in there? Just make sure you don't have any rough stuff. >> Oh, I'm okay. I don't have anything though. >> Well, do do you mind showing me? Just Just so I can look. >> I kind of do. >> Okay. >> But I don't have anything. I just have other stuff that I wouldn't really want people to see like you. >> Oh, that's understandable. Sometimes we have some privacy. You here with anybody or just yourself? >> No, just myself. >> Okay. >> Well, Julia, if you don't if nothing's going on, we'll get you out of here and you'll be on your way and you can go on with your life. Okay. Does that sound like a plan? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I really hope I don't have anything. I think I might miss >> control 5241. But moments later, she threw everything into chaos. >> Julia, stop. Julia, stop. Relax. >> No. No. Take a breath. I don't have any. Take a breath. No. No. Don't. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> You're being put into handcuffs right now. >> No. No. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> Hey, let's lower the >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. On >> to the ground. >> No. Don't get off me. Julia, >> get off of me. >> We're going to put your hands behind your back, okay? >> And we're going to put you in handcuffs cuz you're under arrest. Officers successfully placed the woman in handcuffs, but it was far from over. Her mind appeared disoriented, revealing there was still another layer to uncover. >> Two, three, stand. >> Let's go this way. We're just going to walk right out the doors. Is there anything else we need to No, just the other stuff. >> Okay. >> I swallowed something. >> You what? >> I swallowed something. >> Okay. >> You swallowed what? My pills. >> Your pills. What kind of pills are they? So we know what to tell the medics if they got to come take care of you. >> Can you speak up? >> You can't speak up. I don't know what kind of pills you swallowed. Like Advil or you talking drugs? >> Huh? >> Xanax. Oh, >> she says she swallowed some Xanax. So, we'll probably need AMR. >> Just going to go right out this door. >> Say again. >> Shortly after, the woman was placed into the patrol car and during an internal discussion, officers discovered several items they suspected she had concealed during her shopping. >> Can you put your feet in? Scoot your butt up a little. Sit up on the chair. >> You got her. >> Yeah. Oh, hang out here. >> All right. Here. Do you want AC or anything? >> You want AC or heat? >> Which one? >> Yeah, probably. >> So, she has a bunch of rush in here, I think. So, >> it'll at least be resisting an attempted theft at minimum. >> Oh my gosh. >> What' you say? ITA and theft. You know, we said ITA. >> No, at this point resisting. I'm assuming this is raw stuff. So, attempted. >> Oh, gotcha. >> And it was a theft and >> it was a theft and resisting was the warrant. >> And they're at yellow. They probably wouldn't have taken her. I was like, "Relax. They might not even take you." She just >> I'm going to close the door for a second. Okay. Are you doing all right now, ma'am? >> Okay. I saw you shake your head. Uh, what do I need to do? Um, >> uh, can you bring all this stuff in with the Ross tags? See if it's theirs. >> Yep. I'll check you. >> Hey, can we check to see if this stuff belongs to the store? >> Yeah, that does. >> Yeah, >> from this store. I guess it doesn't really matter. >> Yep. Ros, >> given the woman's condition, officers were unable to obtain any further statements from her. But based on everything that had occurred, they proceeded to draw their conclusion. >> Swing your legs out. No. >> Yeah, >> exactly. >> Turn to me >> right here. There you go. >> Hey, Julia, here's a criminal citation. Okay. Uh, this is for your mandatory court appearance August 8th, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. If you do not appear, you will have another warrant for theft and resisting. Okay. Immediately after handcuffing him, they directly confronted him about the incident. >> All right. So, having those rights in mind, you want to tell me why you took that lady's purse? Be straight up, man. >> Don't play with me. >> I'm not playing, sir. >> I asked you a direct question. Answer it. >> I She got all her stuff out. >> Did you take her purse, >> bro? >> You're going to want to stop playing. Take >> it, sir. Sir, >> did you take a purse? Separate your feet. >> Sir, >> what are you trying to say? You're not answering questions. You're just saying, "Sir, she got her stuff back. Sir, she got her stuff back. Sir, she got her stuff back." Unless you want to answer my question. >> I'm just asking. >> You don't get to ask questions right now. >> Get in the back of my car. >> Okay. Get in there. Sir, >> do you feel like answering questions? Are you >> Sir, can you >> you want to answer or not? >> Can you please >> can you please park the car? >> I don't care about your car. >> He completely avoided the officer's questions, deflecting with anything he could to avoid facing the theft accusation directly. Meanwhile, on the other side, the victim gave her account of what had happened. What happened? >> Yeah, I just was loading my car. I'm very mindful of my purse locking and everything. And I put it way up above where I was, started loading, and he just literally came out of nowhere, >> shoved me, grabbed my first thread. >> He pushed you and >> did that cause you any pain? >> Okay. >> No. >> Okay. And emotionally, how did you feel when you were pushed? >> I'll give this to her. >> Just disbelieve. >> She's got my ID. Yeah, I'm the one that got the guy first. >> Anything you need. I'll give verbal mic. >> Okay. Sir, can you please can you can you please listen to me? >> Oh, sorry. If you guys need video, I can grab it for you guys. >> Okay. Uh, do you know where the victim is? Was this >> one of these? No, I'm not too sure where it is. >> Okay. Um, did anybody else witness it? Did you see that? >> No, I just came out. Okay. Are you able to get access to the video right now? >> Yeah, I can go check it. Do you know which what part of the lot it happened at? >> Um, he came running from just the center lot. I when I was coming up here, he came across and he was acting just off like panic kept looking over then I saw him run. So, I started running uh where he he was the first to approach him and got the purse back and then I came up and that's when I figured out okay. >> He doesn't look like you have pink. >> Okay. How did you feel emotionally when you were pushed and your stuff taken, your purse taken? >> Angry >> and then at myself and him and then very frustrated cuz I realized what was in here. >> His actions were seen as having impacted the victim psychologically. Yet, despite her firm account, the man still believed his stubborn denial would succeed. >> Please. >> No. >> Can you please >> do you want to tell me what happened today? >> Officer, please. >> Do you want to tell me what happened? >> I'm I'm literally begging you. She only this is the only car >> I want to know what happened today. I'm not worried about your car right now, >> sir. Please. Why in your stance? >> No. >> You have anything on you that's going to poke me, cut me or hurt me? >> No. Please. >> So, just so you know, you're under arrest. Okay. >> Okay. >> For robbery, too. >> Please, sir. I'm I'm literally asking if you can call. >> We can cross that bridge when we get there. Okay. >> And then how much would you evaluate your purse and all your belongings to cost all together? >> Right at this moment because I just have a lot of people to pay. I have 14,500 in cash. >> Okay. So, >> and then, you know, maybe maybe a couple thousand. >> Okay. All right, I'll be right back. Okay, >> please. I'm I'm I'm literally begging I'm literally begging people. I'm I'm literally begging you. >> Okay, >> please. >> I hear you begging me. >> Please. >> I told you we'll cross original. >> They threw the keys in the car. >> Who threw what keys in what car? >> The the cop threw the keys in the car. >> Okay. >> But but please can can you please call her so she can pick up the car. >> Please back in the crunch area. All right. Go down the seat. Yeah. >> He showed no sign of remorse. And even when he realized his desperate please had failed, he appeared more concerned about his car than his situation. That's >> the only car she has. >> Okay. >> Please let her come and get it. I'm I'm literally begging you. Please. That's the only car we have and she needs to get to work and we we don't even have the money to get out of the thing. Are you calling her? >> I will when I get there. I'm not calling her right now. I have other things I need to take care of first. Can you p Can you call her so that she can get down here? She literally lives like 5 minutes away from here. She got her stuff back. Like they she got everything back. Like there's nothing that that >> only because you had nowhere to go and they surrounded you. >> No, I threw the stuff back. >> Goodness gracious, dude. >> I dropped it before everything was like everybody was coming. >> Well, that was a little too late. So, you're not getting the car back. All right, you can stop asking. >> She got her stuff back. >> So, you think that's okay? Okay. You think that's fine? She got her stuff back, so it should all be okay now. >> I'm I'm I'm already going to jail. Like, >> so now you I should do favors for you because she didn't get hurt >> and she got her stuff back. So, I should do you a favor. Is that what you're saying, >> sir? I'm >> Is that what you're saying? >> I'm literally begging you, please. So, why why can't I just get a a a ticket though? >> Because what you did is a felony crime. You try to take someone's stuff away from them from her person, that's a felony. >> In the end, the man was charged with robbery and assault. Ignoring the severity of your actions and hiding behind denial will only make the consequences worse. Accountability is the only path that can prevent a bad situation from becoming irreversible.
