[Music] I work in the latent print unit and as part of my responsibilities, I perform the comparative analysis of unknown shoe and tire impressions collected from crime scenes and items of evidence to known shoes and tires. Our crime scene unit collects this types of evidence from a variety of crime scenes all the way from burglaries up to homicides. We then are attempting to tie a subject through their shoe and or tire uh on their vehicles or on their persons to those impressions collected at crime scenes. Shoe and tire impressions are one of the most prevalent types of evidence that we encounter at different types of crime scenes. So, being able to tie a known shoe or tire to that crime scene impression can help provide closure to a victim by helping solve their crime. [Music]
