Pedal. >> Hey, adrenaline junkies. Welcome to Police Chase. Today, we're kicking off a brand new series. When people messed with the wrong cops, where every dumb move instantly triggers justice mode. All right, let's dive in. On September 20th, 2022, at around 9:30 p.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, police encountered 34year-old John Terry Chapman Jr. at a Quick Trip parking lot. What seemed routine was about to change in seconds. >> Yes, but you need to get out. You both need to get out. >> She's going to step back. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Just be mindful if he doesn't do what you're saying. >> Okay. >> Say what? >> He's getting ready to hit you with the pepper balls. A lot of them. >> According to authorities, Chapman had a 32 caliber revolver and ammunition despite prior felony [music] convictions. The encounter suddenly escalated when shots were exchanged, forcing officers to react immediately. Me. Get out. We appreciate. >> Under intense pressure, officers returned fire and brought the immediate threat under control. It was a powerful reminder of how one decision can change everything in an instant. >> Drop the weapon, Sergeant. Sergeant, can [screaming] you COME TO ME? MIKE, CAN YOU COME TO ME? >> Chapman was later federally indicted on multiple firearm related and obstruction charges. What began in a quiet parking lot ultimately became a serious federal case, a lasting reminder that a few reckless seconds can bring years of consequences. Turn over to my right to his right. Mike might be there. On July 11th, 2018, at around 7:24 a.m. in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, officers responded to a serious shooting report. Two suspects later identified as Fidel Miranda, 23, and Renee Nunez, 30, reportedly fled in a Ford Expedition. >> I'll have you from where I could come to you. Be advised, shots fired. Shots fired. >> What's the location? >> Cell phone. Mojave passing Bonanza. Collect. Shots fired. Still shot fire. Shots fired. >> Get in. hit. >> Around 9:30 a.m., officers spotted the SUV, but the driver accelerated away. A long pursuit followed, during which police said the suspects fired 34 rounds, striking several patrol vehicles. Going westb south from a hot mess away from I'm going to switch over to tech so we can >> Watch out. Shots fired. Shots fired. Shots fired again. Not me. Are you in California? Officers William Yumana and Paul Solomon returned fire as the pursuit continued with danger unfolding at high speed. Every second demanded courage, focus, and split-second decisions. We got here. The pursuit ended near Ogden Avenue and 18th Street, where both suspects were stopped. Nunez was taken into custody and received medical treatment. What began as an emergency call became [music] a powerful reminder that one reckless decision can place countless lives at risk. >> Hey, the other one's up there. >> Get out here. Okay. >> On October 19th, 2018 in Athens, Georgia, USA, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Sartine Drive. After taking Jawsi Mandel Collins into custody, his 10-year-old son became extremely distressed as he watched his father being escorted away. >> What we're going to do here is uh >> I'm not going to I'm not the Calm down, man. Okay, calm down. >> Stop it. Stop. >> The boy tried to block the officers and then rushed toward one of them. The officer caught him, but their momentum carried them against the patrol car before the child was briefly restrained on the ground. >> BACK UP NOW. EVERYBODY BACK UP. BACK UP. >> Back up. Back up. Back up. Back up. >> Stop. Stop. >> Back off. Stop. >> Stop resisting. Stop resisting. >> Back up. Help me here. >> Despite the tense moment, the officer calmly told the boy that he was not under arrest and would be released once he settled down. The boy soon regained control and no handcuffs were used. >> Okay. You good? >> Calm down. >> You got him. Hey, we going to stand and >> Okay. >> You good, man? >> Come on. >> You good? >> Yes. >> Okay. We're going to stand up. We're going to have a conversation. Okay. I don't need you running around like that. I don't need you. >> Okay. >> You don't call me. >> He attacks my officer. Okay. Back up. >> EVERYBODY BACK AWAY FROM MY VEHICLE. BACK UP. >> Officers then comforted the child, explained what was happening, and allowed him to speak with his father. The incident was later reviewed internally, leaving a thoughtful reminder that sometimes patience and compassion can be just as important as control. >> You going to say bye? [music] Hold on. We're going to roll down the window. >> Daddy, can I have your phone? Because I want to call you to bail you out. I know you On July 17th, 2026 in Corona, California, USA, police received emergency calls about a violent incident near East Parkridge Avenue. Witnesses reported an injured woman and a man carrying a large knife. An officer soon located 25-year-old Isaiah Masiel. >> Something's going on. Just take a seat for me. All right. What's your name? >> I'm good, bro. >> Take a seat. No, >> I'm good. >> Take a seat. >> Wait, bro. >> Hey, back up. >> What you going to do? >> Back the up. Back the up. >> Hey, 11-11. Step it up. >> Police said he ignored repeated commands, pushed over the officer's motorcycle, and continued approaching while the officer backed away and called for assistance. >> What you got to do, bro? >> He just pulled the knife out. >> Hey, stop. Come on. >> Stop. Come here. Come here. After retreating nearly 100 ft, the officer saw Masiel turn back toward him with the knife raised. With the distance closing and little room left to react, the situation reached its critical point. The officer responded and Masiel was struck. Officers immediately provided emergency aid. While the injured woman also received medical care, a confrontation lasting only minutes became a sobering reminder of how quickly refusing to step back can lead to irreversible consequences. >> 21. Shots fired. Shots fired. On December 8th, 2022, at around 4:02 p.m. near Fairbanks Ferry Road in Concord Road, Florida, USA, a trooper stopped a gray Nissan at a gas station. But just as the officer approached, the driver suddenly sped away. Another trooper immediately followed. With the road ahead clear, he moved into position and performed a pit maneuver, sending the Nissan into a ditch where it rolled before coming to a stop. hand. STOP. Give me a [ __ ] hand. Officers quickly approached and safely restrained the driver, later identified as Cedric Ricardo Fable. In only seconds, an attempt to escape had turned a simple traffic stop into a far more serious situation. Find me in the car. >> Authorities said Fable had an active felony warrant while a vehicle search also uncovered marijuana and related paraphernalia. After medical evaluation, he was booked on multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding. Sometimes running from one problem only creates several more. Oh, I hit lay down. It's on my back, sir. My back, sir. Turn your legs. Oh, >> stop crying about your back. >> Oh, no. It's on my back, sir. Stop my back. Oh, my back. Just ran my vehicle. >> Hey, PUT IT IN [ __ ] PARK OR I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU. >> PUT IT IN PARKER. I'm going to shoot you. What about the window? >> At a dead end, the Toyota reversed into a marked patrol vehicle. Deputies quickly surrounded the car and after a brief struggle [music] took David Kinsley Jr. into custody. After such a risky pursuit, there was finally nowhere left to run. >> Dude, open the [ __ ] window. >> If we come up there, you're going to get tased and snatch out of the window. You understand me? >> Crawl out of the [ __ ] window. >> Crawl out. >> Crawl out. You guys [ __ ] stomach. >> Get on your stomach. Get on your stomach. Get on your stomach. Get on your [ __ ] >> shouldn't have [ __ ] drove at me, you stupid [ __ ] >> One time. >> You stupid [ __ ] >> You know, you could have [ __ ] killed me. >> That was [ __ ] stupid. >> Take that. That's unfortunate, pal. >> Straighten your leg out. >> I can't straighten your leg out. You broke it, man. I can't move it. I can't move it. Literally, I can't move this leg. >> Hug to your side. >> A vehicle search reportedly uncovered suspected methampetamine and drug paraphernalia. Kinsley later faced multiple charges including fleeing, assault-related offenses against officers, and drug possession. One decision to keep running had turned a traffic stop into a long list of consequences. >> Come on. You're >> almost there. Then you can sit down. >> Almost there. Come on. Couple more steps. >> There you go. Ah, >> listen. >> Spin around. >> I can't. >> There you can. >> There you go. >> Scoot you back. Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated away. What began as a traffic stop quickly became a pursuit. Troopers followed as the driver continued at speed, turning an already concerning situation into a growing risk for everyone on the road. I'm ready. Turning north on Chestnut Avenue. With every passing moment, officers had to balance stopping the vehicle with keeping the public safe. One decision not to pull over had changed the entire night in seconds. Another 203. Another 23rd Street. >> Yeah, I'm looking right. >> Hands. Hands. Got his hands up. You got a hand? >> Yeah. >> My [ __ ] ass. Put your [ __ ] hands on your back. Hands behind your back. >> The incident became another reminder of how quickly a suspected impaired driving stop can escalate when a driver chooses to flee. Sometimes avoiding one consequence only creates a much bigger one. >> Quit my car. On June 18th, 2026, near 22nd Avenue North and 34th Street North in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, an FHP trooper spotted a Kia SUV traveling about 58 mph in a 40m paper zone. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver kept going. 1780 Grand Police identified the driver as 26-year-old Nikoli Kerrion. Instead of pulling over, Carrion accelerated away, turning a speeding stop into a pursuit. into the pond. >> The trooper continued following as the situation grew more serious. What could have been a routine roadside stop had changed completely because of one decision. >> Give me a perimeter in KI. working on it now. >> 48. >> The incident serves as a simple but powerful reminder. Trying to escape a traffic stop can create far greater consequences than the reason for the stop itself. I don't trust my driver. I don't trust everybody else. Can't lay down. Can't lay down. >> Huh? >> Can't lay down. >> No. Wait a minute. We'll get you in there. Okay. >> I need you to leave the game. >> I'm really trying not to hurt you. >> He's not dropping the goddamn gun. >> Take the window. >> TAKE THE WINDOW OUT. ON July 4th, 2020, at around 100 p.m. in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, officers responded to a 911 call about a man allegedly threatening someone involved in an earlier knife related incident. Officers were directed to a nearby home where weapons might be present. The scene looked calm, but that calm wouldn't last. >> You all right, man? >> I'm all right. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. My uh my cousin's inside waiting on your first shut the car off and come over here. Man, >> you got no weapons on you. >> At about 1:25 p.m., officers found 28-year-old James Garcia sitting in a vehicle. They repeatedly asked him to step out, but he refused and gave conflicting information about his identity. For nearly 10 minutes, officers remained patient as tension quietly built. >> He's got a gun. Hey, get that [ __ ] Get your hand off the gun. Get your hand off the [ __ ] gun. >> I can't see his [ __ ] hands. He's got a gun. Hey, put that [ __ ] Get your hand off the gun. Get your hand off the [ __ ] gun. Get your [ __ ] hand off the gun. >> Then came the warning. He's got a gun. Officers immediately ordered Garcia to put it down, but the situation continued to escalate. With only seconds to assess the danger, two officers eventually used their service weapons. >> [music] >> A calm conversation had suddenly become a critical encounter. >> He's not dropping the goddamn gun. >> Take the window. Take the window out. >> He's not dropping the goddamn gun. >> Take the window. Take the window out. >> Officers quickly secured the firearm and provided medical assistance. Investigators later identified Garcia through fingerprints [music] and reported that he had outstanding warrants and was prohibited from possessing a firearm while on probation. In just 13 minutes, one tense encounter became a lasting reminder. Choices made in seconds can carry consequences far beyond the moment. >> Where's the gun? Good. Right here. >> Gun is secure. >> Get on THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. >> TASER. TASER. TASER. >> In February in Wickliff, Ohio, USA, an officer attempted to stop a driver who authorities later said had multiple outstanding warrants and a suspended license. The driver pulled into an apartment complex, got out, and walked toward a unit despite repeated commands to stop and show his hands. What seemed like a simple traffic stop was quickly becoming something more complicated. >> Radio, he's >> send me another car. >> Stop. >> What are you doing? >> Stop. >> Excuse me, ma'am. Excuse me, ma'am. Please do not touch me. I'm not doing anything. >> You are being recorded. I did not do anything. Ma'am, can you please let my arm go? After more than two dozen commands, the officer tried to physically stop him, but he repeatedly pulled away. Then another man emerged from the apartment, adding even more uncertainty to an already tense scene. How long could officers keep trying to resolve this without the situation escalating? >> What are you doing? >> You're out of traffic. Stop. >> What are you doing? Somebody stop. You need to stop. >> Can you please leave me alone? >> I did not do anything. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> WHOA. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> DAMN. YOU ARE BEING REPORTED. >> THAT'S FINE. GET ON THE GROUND. >> You're not listening. Get on the ground. >> I didn't do anything. >> GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. [screaming] GET IN THE HOUSE. >> GET IN THE HOUSE. >> I can't go ON MY MOM. >> GET ON THE GROUND. [screaming] >> GET ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. Get on the ground right now. >> GET IN THE HOUSE. >> ON THE GROUND. On the ground. >> Get on THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. >> TASER. TASER. TASER. >> Why would you tase my brother? GET A DOUCHY. >> One's been tased. >> [ __ ] taser, [ __ ] Do [ __ ] >> A second officer arrived and ordered the man to get on the ground, warning that a taser could be used. When the commands were not followed, officers deployed the touser once and brought the situation under control. Sometimes a few seconds of resistance are enough to turn tension into consequences. >> Turn around. Standing right here. >> Let's grab this guy. >> Oh my god. >> On your face. On your face. >> Hands behind your back. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> I didn't do anything. >> The man was taken for medical evaluation and later returned to police [music] custody. The following day, he pleaded guilty to obstructing official business and resisting arrest and received 30 days in the Lake County jail. The second man was released without charges after calming down. A tense encounter ended with one simple lesson. Cooperation [music] can prevent a difficult situation from becoming far worse. >> You got room in your walk right over here, sir. while you pull me off. >> We're going to do all that here in a little bit. >> At around 7:30 p.m. in Delta, Florida, USA. Deputies were monitoring a silver Honda Accord connected to several recent shooting investigations. Inside were 30-year-old Rayon Ratigan and 19-year-old Jaquan Tyson, both wanted on outstanding warrants. When officers moved in, the Honda suddenly sped away. >> All right, he's going to be uh Saxon turning on Saxon towards I4. >> Not any more than two units behind that car. >> Be ready to come back. With the Air1 helicopter tracking from above, the Honda raced onto Interstate 4 at speeds reportedly exceeding 100 mph. Deputies kept their distance while the aircraft maintained visual contact. At those speeds, every passing second carried another risk. The pursuit reached its turning point near State Road 46 and I4 in Seol County where the Honda collided with an unmarked detective vehicle. The chase was over. Despite the intensity of the pursuit, both men were taken into custody without further escalation. Get on the ground. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. STAY ON THE GROUND. This way. This way. This way. >> Hey, CHECK ON DONNIE. CHECK ON. Both suspects were medically evaluated before being taken to jail. Ratigan faced additional charges related to fleeing law enforcement and driving with a suspended license, while Tyson was taken in on his existing warrant. Detective Don Maxwell sustained minor injuries and was later released from the hospital. What began as surveillance ended in a high-speed pursuit, but coordinated police work brought it to a controlled conclusion. >> All right, we'll get you in a moment. >> You wouldn't drive like an idiot. You wouldn't crash into Can I get her out of here? >> Yeah. Yeah. Get her through. >> God damn. >> In Deltona, Florida, USA. According to investigators, evidence and video indicated that Howal raised a Kel-Tech KSG shotgun toward deputies. In an instant, the officers were facing a situation where hesitation could carry serious consequences. Police said how discharged the shotgun once and four deputies responded with their service weapons during an exchange lasting about 10 seconds. When the scene finally went quiet, officers moved in and secured the area. 10 seconds may sound brief, but in a moment like this, it can feel much longer. >> Cease fire. Cease fire. Shots fired. truck on the passenger door. >> Investigators recovered the shotgun from Howal's truck and reported that it had been loaded with 13 rounds with one discharge. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement opened an investigation into the encounter. While authorities emphasized that the initial information was preliminary, the footage leaves a sobering reminder. When a weapon enters an already tense encounter, the margin for a safe [music] decision can shrink to seconds. >> All right, stand by. I got a shield. Let's wait. Let's get a team together when we get more units here. Keep cover on him. >> 5 July 30th, 2026 at 7:43 a.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, Arkansas State Police joined a pursuit involving a stolen U-Haul trailer traveling on Interstate 30. What started as a traffic stop had suddenly become a chaotic scene involving multiple vehicles and motorists. >> Oh, HE'S GOING. HE'S GOING. HE'S GOING. HE'S GOING to have two. >> No. Come over here. >> The driver was identified as Marqual Tavon Montgomery and was found to have no valid Florida driver license. On December 27th, 2022, on Interstate 10 in Madison County, Florida, USA, troopers joined the pursuit of a white Ford F-150 reported stolen. The driver, later identified as McKenna Crystal Thomas, was reportedly traveling at over 100 mph while multiple marked patrol vehicles followed with lights and sirens activated. What began miles away was now becoming a serious highway risk. Thomas continued at high speed, making evasive moves and even passing traffic along the shoulder. Then traffic conditions forced her to slow to about 54 mph. For the troopers behind her, this was the opportunity they had been waiting for. Thank you. >> A trooper performed a pit maneuver, bringing the F-150 to a stop. Officers immediately approached and took Thomas into custody. After a pursuit exceeding 100 mph, the tense chase had finally ended without further escalation.
