What's going on? >> Uh, so, basically, she has a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. And we have a picture of his truck out here at 6:00 a.m. And then I come here to drive my car. We're going to get to Walmart, and my tires are slashed. So. >> You don't have him on camera coming up to the car. >> No, I just took a photo of his car. >> I secured his truck being out here. >> He lives here. >> No, I know. The problem is if somebody else I have to prove that it was him in it. I know, you know, two and two together and whatnot. >> Yeah. >> Um, unless we can cuz the defense would be that, well, Betty's driving it or whatever. I mean, >> last night. >> I'm just saying from a like >> reasonable doubt is what cases are made off. Probable cause for charges and arrests, but reasonable doubt to actually get a conviction. And so, I'll take a I'm going to take a report for criminal damaging at your car. Okay. Um, it's as far as violating the protection order it's going to be cancel. It's going to be tough to prove. I mean, it's definitely covered if we could say that he was out here, then um But, he hasn't tried to contact you on the phone or anything. >> Most of them are blocked. >> Okay. Um, >> He does have no reason to be over in this area either. >> No, definitely. I completely agree. Um, but again, proving that that was him in the truck. I mean, everything points to flat tires, picture of his truck, but without actually having like a picture of him, it could have been anybody. And so, that's a We have to have at least like a 50% likelihood that it was him. And so, we're just not quite there with yet, but um, and as far as like I can talk to his uh probation officer about or is he on probation or is it just a protection order? Okay. I can see about like cell phone data data and putting him here at the time of of that picture. Maybe like join an old circle and see if he was here last night. Yeah. Um but even then it's kind of tough cuz the defense could be that his cell phone was with somebody else or whatever and they're getting more and more protective over search warrants and cell phones and whatnot. So, um but yeah, let me snap some pictures of this. >> [clears throat] >> So basically if he comes around me and I don't like have proof of it like there's So like I just don't understand what's the point of a protection order is if it's like not really protecting. >> So, if yeah, you have video of him getting out of his car or if he starts approach you, my best recommendation is to film what you can with your phone and then get away. Call as soon as possible whatever, but again, just his truck is not going to be enough for charges right now. But [snorts] proving that is kind of a challenge. So I with the camera I did it it only snaps with movement or what? >> Like it was supposed to be a video but I guess it just wasn't working. >> Okay. Yeah, there's a way you can adjust it like cuz if we could have picked up like oh, he wears these Nikes that have this pink logo then we could be like oh yeah and I go over and I see those bingo. I can say that was him on the video whatnot. So, but all we have right now is this truck. Her mom what's up? She on the phone? Yeah. Here you go. This is Officer Lotterman. >> Hi. >> Yeah. >> Um I actually just got off the phone with Cameron. >> Okay. >> Um I kind of stretched the truth a little bit. I told him that we do have video coverage of him actually slashing the tires. He did admit to me that yes, he did it. >> Okay. >> Um I He is in like a store right now. >> Okay. >> He is headed back towards Delaware. >> All right. >> I told him that I would give his number to you. >> Uh-huh. >> And that if you were able to, you would be calling him. And I'm like, you need to admit to what you did. >> Yeah. >> phone. And you need to tell them that your intentions were to rectify the situation because I'm like, I'm not trying to be rude, but you need to man up. You did something wrong, you need to be honest about it, and you need to not run. I'm like, cuz if you run, it's going to be worse. So, he would like to try to see if they can rectify the situation. He's already saying he would like to pay for the tires, whatever he needs to do for the least amount of trouble that he's going to get into. And I'm like, you're not just going to get off scot-free. >> Okay. >> He did violate it and stuff. >> Yeah. No, I I appreciate you doing that. Um So, just between >> get a recording of it because now on Apple phones when you hit record, it tells you have a person that you're recording them. >> Yep. Yep. Yep. So, just between all of us, so if we can put him in the driveway, I can arrest him for violating the protection order. As far as like recouping the tires, um there's a way we can play it. If you just tell him to come to the police department to write out a statement. So, he comes in >> be able to tell him to do that and and he'll probably do it because I told him that he needs to head towards Delaware and needs to go into the police station. And >> Okay. >> told him that I would have you call him. So, I mean, at first he was denying it to me and I'm like, Cameron, we have you on videotape actually physically doing that. >> Yep. Yep. >> he got quiet. And then when I had him admit it, I'm like, you you're not getting away with it." I'm like, "We have it." I'm like, "Even though I don't think she was actually able to get that far on tape." >> No. No. And uh I mean, I'm I can say the same thing. It's okay to do that and whatnot. Say we have video and we don't, but um again, as long as everybody here is in the understanding that if we spook him, then it's probably not going to work out. But and say, "Hey, we're going to arrest you, whatever." >> Right now, it's not going to work. Yeah, he >> Yep. Yep. >> I know that you [clears throat] know this because um he showed me a picture. He just purchased a firearm the other day. >> How do you know that? >> He told me that he did. >> He's been rubbing it in my face that he was going to shoot and kill me. >> He has a firearm. >> So, [laughter] the firearm. >> Okay. Um Well, I'll have to get with probation on that cuz that's in violation of the uh protection order, so um >> Exactly. So, I don't know if he purchased it at a store, if he purchased it off of a friend. I'm not quite sure. >> Okay. Okay. All right. >> And so, I am very, very concerned about his This was all in the conversation I just had with him on the phone. >> He said he wanted to shoot himself. >> That he's That he's getting to the point that he's just going to kill himself. Yes. >> Okay. All right. >> I'm like wanting to try to tiptoe around this because he's a good kid. He is a good kid. He just He's troubled and he's >> Yep. Uh what's his phone number? >> Um I think Mario probably ought to give it to you better cuz I'll have to get it like okay. >> Yep. That's fine. >> calling for that thing, but um if you Yeah. >> All right. Well, again, like I said, if anybody else talks to him, let's just say, come to the police department to write a statement and I'll address the tires and then arrest him for violating the protection order. Um but again, we don't want to release any more information than we have to, so >> Right. Right. >> And again, once he's in custody, we can address the handgun thing as well, so um Okay. >> Um I'm going to reinforce this with my daughter, but if you wouldn't mind doing that all, she needs to not be in contact with his grandmother. >> Yep. >> Not that that she's a good woman, it's just she just needs to see out of the situation. >> Okay, understood. All right, well, I'll talk with her and get his number and go from there. >> Okay, you did promise me he would answer the phone for you. >> All right, sounds good. Thank you. >> All right, thank you. >> All right, this is an emotional time, so like taunting or whatever is not going to help cuz like it sounds like if you say, "Hey, guess what? You're going to get arrested, bro." Guess what? He's never going to come in and I we're not kicking down doors to uh at his grandma's house or wherever. And so, um yeah, let's just let him come in write out a statement for this and then I can arrest him for the protection order, okay? Sounds something >> about my tires, though? >> In the meantime, um I would just replace them and then keep your receipts. So, >> So, should I make an insurance claim or should I just have like a buddy that works at a shop try to replace them? >> Um I don't know that insurance would cover it, >> but they said that they would it'd be a $500 deductible. >> Okay, okay. It'd probably be cheaper just to buy them. >> Yeah. >> But, um keep your receipts because you're the victim of criminal damaging and so, he's going to have to pay um I can't think of what it's called, but restitution. >> Yeah. >> So, you just keep your receipts. It has to work its way through the court system. So, again, you're not going to wait until the case goes through court to get paid back. Now, if he wanted to pay in the meantime, okay, but again, now I'm involved, it has to go through the whole process. >> Already. >> I mean, he could he could pay you. Again, it's probably not going to work out well with everything cuz you guys are in a relationship now or what? >> Mhm, yeah. >> Okay. Yeah, so it's you contacting him is probably not going to work out well and it's you're probably just better off waiting for the court. So, okay? But again, sitting and waiting isn't going to work. Just keep your receipts and go [clears throat] that route, but so once he gets arrested has he been arrested on this before? The protection order? >> No. >> [snorts] >> He's been in the system before, but I don't think he's been on it. >> So once he gets arrested I'll notify you and when he's released from jail, they'll notify you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um we'll just see what happens in the next couple hours or whatnot, but uh if he shows up at the house, lock the doors, call and I'll be here. Okay? >> Mhm. Okay. >> Yep. Oh, walking off with this. Let me give you this card. >> Okay. Yeah, it sucks though. I'm not going to lie. We were going to We were getting ready to go to Walmart and I was like putting it in reverse and it just like sitting there like barely creeping and I'm like, "What the hell?" >> Um so yeah, that's the case number. Assuming everything works out >> Okay. >> uh it's going to be assigned, assuming I charge him with criminal damaging, it's going to be assigned a court case number then a victim's advocate of the prosecutor is going to reach out and say, "Hey, we got a court date for this day. We need you to be there, whatever, as the victim, whatnot." But um or he could just flee right away. I don't know. But again, assuming I have to get a confession from him you know, for that which will then also lead to the protection order thing. So, if I can put him in the driveway, he violated the protection order, whether he realizes it or not. And again, like if we're taunting him and he realizes it and backs out, then the two cases >> I I blocked his number uh whenever she got the restraining order. So, cuz That's fine. Was that the picture or And then you got my email on that card. If you could just email me that picture. Even though it's not rock solid, it helps contribute to the whole case, okay? Thank you.
