Put her down. >> Hey adrenaline junkies, welcome to Police Chase. Today we're kicking off a brand new series, when people messed with the wrong cops, where every dumb move instantly triggers justice mode. All right, let's dive in. >> Get on the ground. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> HEY, WE GOT SHOTS FIRED, SHOTS FIRED. >> WE GOT HIM. >> ON JANUARY 22ND, 2023, at approximately 5:14 p.m. in Altadena, California, USA, deputies from the Altadena Sheriff's Station responded to a gas station near Fair Oaks Avenue and Woodbury Road after receiving reports of a man chasing people and threatening them with a sharp object. The man was later identified as 47-year-old Charles Towns. When deputies arrived, Towns was walking south across Woodbury Avenue. Officers followed him and repeatedly ordered him to stop and put down the object, but he continued toward the 2100 [music] block of El Sereno Avenue. Then, in a moment that changed everything, deputies witnessed him attacking an elderly woman. >> Towns then moved toward another person while still holding the sharp object. Faced with an immediate threat, deputies responded with their firearms. Towns fell near a driveway, but got back up and continued moving toward the deputies before eventually going down again. Officers immediately provided first aid while waiting for paramedics. >> [laughter] >> The incident left two civilians injured during the confrontation. The sharp object was later recovered and identified as a pair of scissors. For the deputies on scene, it was a moment that demanded difficult decisions within seconds. And for everyone nearby, it was a sobering reminder that an ordinary evening can change without warning. >> [laughter] >> Put it down now. Put the knife down. >> On September 5th, 2022 at approximately 7:30 a.m. in Thornton, Colorado, USA, officers were dispatched to the 8,500 block of I-25 after several 911 calls reported a man walking in traffic and causing vehicles to swerve. One caller said she had nearly hit him with her car. The man was later identified as 29-year-old Daryl Ray Lopez. >> Come here. Dude, come here. Come here. Put the knife down. >> When officers arrived, they located [music] Lopez and attempted to speak with him on the busy interstate. At first, it appeared to be a situation that could be resolved through communication, but within moments everything changed when Lopez [music] produced a knife and moved quickly toward an officer. >> What's going on, bro? >> [music] >> Put it down! Put it down! Now! PUT THE KNIFE DOWN! >> FACED WITH AN IMMEDIATE THREAT, the Thornton officer responded with his firearm. The confrontation unfolded in only a few seconds, leaving virtually no time for hesitation. It was one of those moments when an officer had to make a difficult decision while traffic continued moving around them. >> Yes, I did. Show me your hands! Do it now! >> No officers or other civilians were injured. Beyond the footage and the flashing lights, this incident leaves a sobering thought. On a busy highway, one unexpected [music] decision can place many lives at risk within seconds. >> Guys, you guys have anything with the water or anything? >> [music] >> Get on the ground! >> GET ON THE GROUND! >> SHOTS FIRED! SHOTS FIRED! >> ON DECEMBER 8TH, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA, an off-duty police officer was approached by a citizen who reported that a man had pointed a firearm at him. The citizen identified the man as Reginald Davis, and the officer immediately called for additional units. >> Hey! Put your hands up and turn around. Put your hands up and turn around. All right. I don't I'm going to get up on these guys. Hey. >> Responding officers located Davis in a parking lot near the 1800 block of NW 3rd Street and saw that he was carrying a firearm. They ordered him to put it down, but Davis refused. Instead, he reportedly shouted at officers and said he would not go back to prison. With emotions rising, officers tried to slow the situation DOWN THROUGH COMMUNICATION. >> HEY, CALM DOWN, MAN. We're not here to hurt you, okay? >> When negotiations failed, officers first turned to a less lethal option using a bean bag round in an attempt to gain control. But immediately afterward, Davis raised the firearm toward the officers. In that critical moment, officers responded with their firearms, bringing the confrontation to an end. >> We're not here to hurt you, okay? >> Davis was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was later released. He was subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on multiple firearm-related charges, including pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. No officers were injured. Sometimes the most important part of a tense encounter is not how quickly it escalates, but whether everyone recognizes the moment when there is still a chance to step back. >> HE'S POINTING AT HIM. >> ON MARCH 29TH, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m. in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, police received a call about a dispute near the 4700 block of Glendale Road NW. Moments later, another report indicated that a man was firing a gun outside. The man was later identified as 32-year-old Francisco Macias. >> I can't [ __ ] see him. I can't see him. >> Okay, right there, right there. Front of car. >> Front of car. >> HE'S POINTED AT HIM. >> HOLD ON. HOLD ON. HOLD ON. >> HE'S FIRING. He's firing. >> According to police, Macias had reportedly been involved in a confrontation with family members inside a home shortly before officers arrived. When officers reached the scene, they found him in a front yard with two other people and ordered him to put down the firearm. Instead, Macias moved behind a vehicle and officers saw him point the weapon toward one of his companions. >> Point at him. >> Officers responded with multiple rounds, but no one was struck. The group then moved toward the backyard where one of the companions managed to take the firearm away and throw it out of reach. But just when it seemed the situation might be settling down, Macias reportedly grabbed another person and used him as a shield while officers approached. >> It's off. It's off. >> Hold on, guys. Hold on. >> Help >> first used a less-lethal sponge round followed by a Taser to bring Macias under control. He sustained an injury to his foot and was taken into custody for medical treatment. Macias was later released and the charges were ultimately dropped at the request of [music] the reported victims. Looking back, the incident is a reminder that when emotions run high and a firearm is involved, even a few seconds can completely change the direction of a situation. >> No, Macias. >> On July 8th, 2025 at approximately 1:28 p.m. in Lee County, Florida, USA, Trooper Jonathan Hernandez was monitoring traffic on I-75 when he spotted a silver Chevy Silverado traveling at high speed and weaving between lanes. The speed limit was 70 mph while the vehicle was measured at 98 mph. Hernandez activated his emergency lights expecting the driver to pull over. Instead, the Silverado continued accelerating, changing lanes unpredictably, and nearly colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer. Hernandez activated his siren and notified dispatch that he was pursuing [music] a reckless driver. >> [music] >> The pursuit quickly reached more than 100 miles per hour. Trooper Benson Prosper joined the chase and attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, but the driver avoided the maneuver and struck Prosper's patrol vehicle. Even after another collision disabled the patrol car and damaged the Silverado's front tire, the driver kept going. Near exit 157, Trooper Riley joined the pursuit and managed to push the vehicle into a grassy area, but would the driver finally stop? >> The answer was almost no. The driver tried to accelerate again, but the vehicle could no longer move. Officers gave clear commands, approached the vehicle, and took the driver into custody. He was identified as Kevin Donald Reardon, too. During the vehicle search, officers reported finding multiple bottles of alcohol, marijuana cigarettes, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medication. Reardon was taken to the hospital, where his reported blood alcohol level was 0.152. After receiving medical clearance, he was transported to the Charlotte County Jail. What began as a speeding violation had turned into a dangerous pursuit and a powerful reminder that one reckless decision behind the wheel can create consequences far beyond the road. On February 6th, 2024, at approximately 11:34 a.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, Trooper Weatherly attempted to stop a green 2003 Suzuki motorcycle on Highway 165 after clocking it at 85 mph in a 55 mph zone. But, instead of pulling over, the rider suddenly accelerated toward Interstate 440. >> Weatherly immediately notified dispatch and followed the motorcycle. The pursuit moved from Highway 165 onto I-440, then I-30, before continuing through several exits and connecting roads. At one point, the trooper reached speeds of more than 140 mph just to keep the motorcycle in sight. With every turn, the distance between a routine traffic stop and a serious situation seemed to grow. Eventually, the motorcycle reached Jones Street and approached East 35th Street. The rider failed to negotiate a curve, lost control, and the motorcycle went down near the roadside. Jonathan Moore was thrown from the bike and landed in a difficult area near the roadway. Responding officers quickly reached him, pulled him from the roadside, and began assessing his condition while waiting for medical personnel. Moore was transported to Baptist Health Little Rock for treatment. A records check showed that his license was suspended. His registration had expired in July 2022, and he did not have insurance. The motorcycle was later taken away by a towing company. What began with a speeding violation had turned into a high-risk pursuit, reminding us that on the road, one decision to keep going can change the entire course of an ordinary day. On December 7th, 2025 at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, an officer patrolling near Roosevelt Road and University Street spotted a gray 2010 Jeep Patriot displaying fictitious tags. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle expecting a routine traffic check. Instead, the driver immediately accelerated west on 36th Street. >> [music] >> The Jeep quickly reached around 90 mph in a 35 mph zone. The pursuit continued through city streets until officers carried out a tactical vehicle intervention at 36th Street and Romine Road. The vehicle stopped, but the occupants were not ready to give up. The driver, Octavius Shavers, and passengers, Damien Townsend and Jonathan Acker, jumped out and ran in different directions. >> [music] >> Officers immediately pursued all three on foot. As Shavers continued running, an officer deployed a Taser, successfully bringing him under control. For a moment, the frantic chase through the streets finally began to slow down, but officers still had two more people to locate. >> Don't [ __ ] move, okay? >> What do you want with my [ __ ] ID, you? >> What you [ __ ] ran from me. >> Bro, you said he put the gun on me, bro. I said, "Go." What was you supposed to do? He cocked that [ __ ] >> Townsend and Acker were later taken into custody, and all three were transported to Baptist Health for medical clearance. The two passengers reported no injuries, while Shavers sustained minor facial injuries and received treatment before being transferred to the Pulaski County Jail. What began with a questionable license plate had turned into a high-speed pursuit and a foot chase. Sometimes, a decision that takes only a second can create consequences that last far longer. On November 30th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA, Trooper Victor Garcia spotted a small black passenger car traveling north on South Caraway Road with expired dealership tags. He activated his emergency lights expecting the driver to pull over. Instead, the vehicle accelerated and continued north turning a routine traffic stop into a pursuit. The driver, later identified as Shemiah Johnson, continued through Race Street and onto Fairpark Boulevard. Garcia attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, but the first attempt was unsuccessful. He tried again and this time the maneuver caused the vehicle to spin approximately 360° before coming to a stop, but the situation was far from over. Stop. Stop. Johnson immediately got out and ran through a Lowe's parking lot. Garcia repeatedly ordered her to stop, but she kept going until reaching the garden center. Then, in an unexpected turn, Johnson climbed onto a stack of mulch pallets and refused to come down for several minutes. When she finally descended, she tried to run again. Garcia caught up, took hold of her arm, and struggled to place her in handcuffs. Is your ID in here by chance? >> Sir? >> Is your ID or anything like that? >> Um >> After continued resistance, Garcia guided Johnson to the ground and was eventually able to secure her in handcuffs without further incident. What started with expired dealership tags had become a pursuit involving a vehicle, a parking lot, and a foot chase. It is a simple reminder that when an officer signals you to stop, choosing to cooperate can prevent a routine encounter from becoming something much more complicated. On Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at approximately 2:05 p.m. in Lancaster, California, USA, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an armed man threatening people with multiple knives on Sierra Highway. What seemed like [music] a routine emergency call quickly turned into a tense body cam recorded incident. As deputies arrived, 23-year-old Robert Castro suddenly rushed toward an officer with a knife. Despite repeated commands to stop, he continued advancing, leaving officers only moments [music] to react. Sometimes, a single decision can change everything. >> Don't move. Don't move. >> The confrontation escalated rapidly, and deputies used their firearms to stop the immediate threat. During the incident, one deputy suffered a stab wound, highlighting the risks officers face [music] while protecting the public. >> Don't move. Don't move. Stop resisting. Stop resisting. You okay? >> After the scene was secured, deputies immediately provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The injured deputy was hospitalized [music] and investigators recovered several knives at the scene. Thankfully, no other officers or civilians were hurt. The incident is a powerful reminder that refusing lawful commands can lead to lasting consequences. >> Just as you were on the path. >> Get on the [ __ ] ground. >> On Sunday, July 26th, 2026, at approximately 6:15 a.m. in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, officers responded to a priority one domestic disturbance at the Carmen Apartments on Renee Circle. Multiple 911 callers reported that a man [music] armed with several knives had forced his way into an apartment, leaving the victims terrified. >> Oh, hell no, bro. LIKE YOU BETTER YOU'RE ON THE GROUND. YOU'RE ON THE GROUND. >> OFFICERS LEARNED THE SUSPECT WAS 21-year-old Andrew Ponts, who had reportedly chased his former [music] girlfriend and her current boyfriend through the apartment and parking lot. Both victims were injured before [music] the first officer arrived. When the officer spotted Ponts holding knives in both hands, he repeatedly ordered [music] him to drop them. Instead, Ponts kept moving closer. >> Get on the [ __ ] ground. >> Shots fired. Shots fired. Suspect is down. >> Get on your stomach. Get on your stomach now. >> With the distance closing fast and the danger increasing by the second, the officer discharged his firearm to stop the immediate threat. Ponts fell to the ground and the knives slipped from his hands. In moments like these, every decision is measured in seconds with public safety remaining the top priority. >> Where did want to do? >> He has like three knives on him, okay? >> Officers immediately provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The suspect was taken to [music] a hospital while investigators recovered the three knives he was carrying along with five more [music] found around the apartment and parking lot. No officers were injured and the incident remains a powerful reminder of the risks law [music] enforcement officers face while protecting their community. On August 5th, 2023 at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Roosevelt Island, New York, USA NYPD officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a 21-year-old man allegedly threatening a family member with a knife inside an apartment building. What started as a welfare response quickly turned into a fast-moving body cam incident. As officers prepared to take the elevator, the suspect suddenly emerged from another elevator and rushed toward them swinging the knife. One officer backed away while others immediately reacted. A taser was deployed but the threat continued leaving officers only seconds to make a critical decision. As the confrontation intensified, officers discharged their firearms to stop the immediate threat. Within moments, the scene was brought under control, preventing the danger from spreading to nearby residents. Sometimes a single moment can test both courage and judgment. >> POLICE. >> HELLO! >> OFFICERS IMMEDIATELY RENDERED MEDICAL AID until paramedics arrived, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, no officers or civilians were injured during the incident. [music] The case serves as a reminder that unpredictable situations can escalate in seconds, making calm judgment and lawful cooperation more important than ever. >> Four boy shots fired. Four boy shots fired. 10-13, shots fired. >> FOUR BOY SHOTS FIRED! >> SHOTS FIRED! >> HOLD ON. HOLD ON. COME ON! WOO! WOO! >> On August 6th, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m. in Los Angeles, California, USA, LAPD Olympic Division officers were patrolling along Pico Boulevard when they spotted a man later identified as 29-year-old Jose Delgado Pinto standing in the roadway, allegedly pointing a handgun toward their patrol vehicle. In an instant, a routine patrol became a life-threatening encounter. According to investigators, the suspect fired toward the officers before running east along Pico Boulevard and discarding the handgun. Additional patrol units quickly moved in and located him a short distance away. Even without the weapon in hand, he continued acting aggressively, refusing to de-escalate the situation. >> Hey, stop right there! Stop right there! Come here. Come here, bro. Get down! What you want to do? What you want to do? >> Get down! >> Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on! WOO! LET'S GO. STOP. GET ON THE GROUND. >> AS THE STANDOFF INTENSIFIED, officers deployed a taser to safely bring the suspect under control. He was taken into custody while emergency medical personnel evaluated and treated him before transporting him to a nearby hospital. Calm teamwork and quick decisions helped prevent the situation from becoming even more dangerous. >> I can't breathe. >> Our son is in the car. >> I can't breathe. >> No. >> You shouldn't talk. >> Oh! Oh! >> Have a nice day. >> Stop. >> Oh, [ __ ] Yeah. >> Investigators later confirmed the patrol vehicle had been struck by gunfire, and the recovered firearm was identified as a ghost gun. Fortunately, [music] no officers or bystanders were injured. The suspect was later booked on an attempted murder charge. A reminder that choosing violence can bring lasting legal consequences. >> Play for life. >> Royal 16. Who's the suspect in custody? Do we still need backup or not? Any additional units on the way? >> Hey, this verify this call. >> About him? >> Get on the ground. >> Ready for >> Oh! >> Hold fire. >> On August 30th, 2025 at approximately 7:31 p.m. in Aurora, Colorado, USA, an Aurora police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation along East 6th Avenue. Within moments, the situation changed dramatically when the driver collided with an eastbound vehicle, crossed the median, and struck a second vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. What began as a simple enforcement stop had suddenly become a chaotic crash scene involving multiple motorists. >> Stay in the car. Don't move. Don't move. Motor 45, I've got a crash. 6 just east of the 225. >> After the collisions, the officer approached the vehicle and repeatedly instructed the driver to follow commands. The man stepped out, but refused to comply, leading to a physical struggle. >> Get on the ground. GET AWAY GET AWAY FROM THAT [ __ ] GUN. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. >> GET THAT [ __ ] >> GET ON THE GROUND NOW. >> GET THAT [ __ ] >> During the confrontation, the officer noticed a firearm lying on the ground nearby. Although the man was not holding the weapon, he continued advancing toward the officer in an aggressive stance while ignoring repeated verbal commands. >> Get that [ __ ] >> Get on the ground. >> Get that [ __ ] >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> OH, YEAH. SO ARE YOU READY for this? You ready for this? >> Get on the ground. >> As the distance between the two rapidly closed, the officer backed away while continuing to issue commands in an effort to create space and de-escalate the encounter. Faced with what he believed was an immediate threat, the officer discharged his service weapon to stop the advance. Additional officers quickly arrived and began providing first aid until emergency medical personnel reached the scene. >> You ready for this? You ready for this, huh? You ready for this, huh? >> Get on the ground. >> for this? >> [screaming] >> Shots fired. 145 shots fired. >> The man was later pronounced unresponsive at the scene. While the involved officer was placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with department policy as investigators continued reviewing the case. Looking back, the incident highlights how rapidly events can unfold following a traffic violation and how officers are sometimes required to make difficult decisions in uncertain and rapidly evolving circumstances. >> Shut it all down. Disable Westbound Highway. What? How are you? >> Oh, Jesus Christ. Oh, YEAH. BACK UP. NO. >> ON SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2024, at approximately 10:17 a.m. in Reston, Virginia, USA, Fairfax County Police Officer First Class Peter Liu responded to a residence on Sunrise Valley Drive to conduct a welfare check. The request had come from a mental health professional who reported that 33-year-old Sydney Wilson was experiencing an agitated state. What started as an effort to ensure someone's well-being would soon unfold in an unexpected and deeply troubling way. Officer Liu knocked on the door and Wilson briefly opened it before closing it again. Determined to communicate and de-escalate the situation, the officer remained outside and continued speaking calmly. Nearly 2 minutes later, Wilson reopened the door, but this time she was holding a knife and immediately moved toward the officer, swinging the weapon and striking him in the head. >> How are you? >> Oh, Jesus Christ. OH, YEAH. BACK UP. NO. OH, YEAH. >> BACK UP. BACK UP. >> OH, YEAH. OH, YEAH. >> HEY, MAN. I got to ask you to do it. Please back up. >> Oh, yeah. >> Back up. Back up. BACK UP. BACK UP. >> DESPITE BEING INJURED, Officer Liu managed to step backward while repeatedly issuing verbal commands in an attempt to stop the advance. However, Wilson continued moving toward him with the knife, leaving little time to react. Faced with an immediate threat at close range, the officer discharged his service weapon to stop the attack. Responding officers quickly arrived and rendered aid until rescue personnel took over. >> 531 bubble >> Got >> Single one Shots fired. >> Wilson was transported to a nearby hospital where medical staff later determined she was unable to recover from her injury. Officer Liu was also taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Looking back, the incident serves as a difficult reminder that welfare checks often involve individuals experiencing serious emotional or mental health struggles, and even well-intentioned encounters can change dramatically in a matter of seconds. >> Are you okay? >> I'm just light-headed. >> Are you okay? >> Are you okay? >> Okay. Do you have any other injuries? >> I don't know. >> 10-50, 10-50. >> On September 15th, 2024, in St. Charles, Missouri, USA, Officer Brown noticed a Ford Escape traveling without a front license plate and with an illegally tinted windshield. He attempted a traffic stop expecting what could have been a simple citation, but the driver had other plans. Within seconds, the vehicle accelerated away, setting the stage for a dangerous pursuit. >> 21-22 Mobile Ford wagon 690 Frank 409 Failure to yield Your direction? Two freedoms. It's like a darker green color. >> Clear with the charges. >> Heavy traffic in this Ford Escape. We're coming 94. We're on 94 towards Southern Beach. >> Northbound 94 towards Southern Your Speech. >> The pursuit moved through local streets and onto the highway with speeds reaching nearly 80 mph. Despite emergency lights and sirens, the driver refused to stop and continued weaving through traffic. >> 21 9 mph towards the center. >> 10-50 10-50. >> The chase finally came to an end near a roundabout by the convention center where the SUV crashed before the driver jumped out and attempted to escape on foot. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS! SHOW ME YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW! SHOW ME [screaming] SHOW ME YOUR HANDS! SHOW ME YOUR HANDS! >> What is race? >> Brown jacket black backpack. Brown >> Officers quickly caught up with the suspect and a struggle followed as they worked to safely place him into custody. During the encounter, officers discovered a loaded handgun concealed in the suspect's waistband. A passenger who had remained inside the vehicle was also detained as officers secured the scene and ensured there were no additional threats. >> GET ON YOUR STOMACH. NOW! GET ON YOUR STOMACH! >> HELP >> ME OUT. Help me your Look at me. Look at me. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. >> Wait a minute. Let me get my [ __ ] >> Stop, dude. >> Let me I'm not Come on. I'M NOT RESISTING. >> ON YOUR STOMACH. >> I'M NOT RESISTING. I'm not resisting. >> Go. On your stomach. >> RESISTING. >> PUT YOUR ARM BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> I'm not resisting, yeah. >> Put your arm behind your back. >> Gun. Gun. >> Gun? >> Gun. Gun. >> The suspect was ultimately taken into custody without further incident, bringing the pursuit to a close. Looking back, the case serves as another reminder that even minor traffic violations can escalate unexpectedly when someone chooses to flee instead of cooperate. In many cases, a brief stop and a simple conversation could prevent a chain of events that places officers, drivers, and innocent bystanders at unnecessary risk. >> Put your feet up. >> Can I get my shoes? >> No, put your feet up. >> We'll bring your shoes, man. >> No, put your feet up. >> Hey, you want to get in the ambulance? >> No. >> Can you fix my radio? >> You don't need anything. >> On March 20th, 2026 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA, officers attempted to stop a blue Mercedes SUV for a traffic violation. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped away, prompting a BOLO alert that soon involved both Miami Beach Police and the Florida Highway Patrol. What began as a traffic stop quickly turned into a high-speed pursuit. >> That's my place. 39 389 is coming from 17 is coming from 17 and a blue Mercedes SUV 2849 in the area downtown Miami as well as the corners as well. >> Hours later, officers spotted the SUV again on Ocean Drive. The driver swerved into a bike lane before merging onto Interstate 95, weaving through traffic in an effort to escape. Troopers stayed calm, coordinated their movements, and patiently waited for the safest opportunity to end the pursuit. The pursuit finally came to an end, and the driver, identified as Tarsus Palacio, was taken into custody without further incident. During the conversation that followed, he told officers he had fled because of previous legal troubles and feared returning to the justice system. Sometimes, fear can lead to choices that only make the situation worse. Troopers informed Palacio that he was facing a felony charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding. Fortunately, the pursuit ended without injuries to officers or bystanders. The incident is a reminder that a brief attempt [music] to escape can easily result in far more serious legal consequences than the original traffic stop. On August 6th in Forsyth County, Georgia, USA, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle during a routine traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated away, setting off a high-speed pursuit captured on dash cam. In just seconds, an ordinary stop turned into a test of skill and patience. The suspect continued speeding along the roadway while deputies maintained a safe distance, carefully monitoring every movement. Rather than rushing in, they coordinated their actions and waited for the right opportunity to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion. >> Let Dawson know I have him stopped. We're southbound at 413. Punt Road, 413. >> Hey, dispatch, I'm 10-3. >> He's right there. Taking off on me. Going southbound. >> [music] >> He's taking off going southbound. >> 20 George, 20-50. You got charges on >> Native American. >> When the conditions were right, deputies executed a controlled PIT maneuver, bringing the fleeing vehicle to a stop. Moments later, all four occupants exited with their hands raised and followed every command without further resistance. Sometimes, staying calm is the key to preventing a dangerous situation from becoming even worse. >> Put your hands up! PUT YOUR HANDS UP! >> THEY'RE REACHING ON >> Put your hands up! >> They're going to get you in trouble. >> [ __ ] Sending some more units. Second compliant right now. >> All four occupants were taken into custody without injuries or further incident. The case serves as another reminder that cooperating during a traffic stop is always the safer choice. While attempting to flee often leads to far more serious legal consequences than expected. >> Walk backwards! BACK TO ME! BACK! >> On October 30th, 2025, at approximately 10:56 p.m. in Oklahoma, USA, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper spotted a pickup truck speeding along Highway 70 without headlights. Weaving through traffic at night, the driver ignored the emergency lights, turning a routine traffic stop into a dangerous pursuit. >> The 20-year-old driver pushed the truck beyond 100 miles per hour, swerving through intersections and forcing other drivers to react. At one point, he even steered toward the patrol vehicle, creating an extremely risky situation. Despite the pressure, the trooper stayed composed, carefully waiting for the right moment to act. When conditions became safe, the trooper executed a precise PIT maneuver, bringing the truck to a controlled [music] stop. The driver was safely taken into custody, and a bottle of whiskey was later found inside the vehicle. Sometimes a few minutes of reckless driving can lead to consequences that last far longer than expected. The young driver was taken into custody and now faces serious legal proceedings. Fortunately, no officers or innocent motorists were injured. The incident is another reminder that cooperating with law enforcement is always the safer path, while a split-second decision to flee can change the course of a person's future. >> Give me your hand. >> Yes, sir. >> Anything everything else so far? >> No, sir. >> On October 6th, 2023 at approximately 8:46 p.m. in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Georgia State Patrol troopers began following a reported stolen 2014 GMC Acadia that had already fled from multiple law enforcement agencies earlier that evening. The SUV was seen driving recklessly near the I-75/I-85 connector, leaving officers concerned that another attempt to stop the vehicle could quickly become dangerous. >> Yep. Going through a parking lot, coming back out onto West End. 795 is going to have primary. 795 is going to have primary. >> As troopers activated their emergency equipment, the driver immediately accelerated away, triggering another pursuit through city streets. The SUV sped through red lights, crossed curbs, cut through yards, and even drove toward oncoming traffic, showing little regard for the safety of others. The chase continued onto Lee Street, where the fleeing vehicle struck a Chrysler 300 and collided with a guardrail. Yet, the driver still refused to stop. >> 10-50 still going. >> Concerned about the growing danger to the public, a trooper executed a precision immobilization technique, commonly known as a PIT maneuver, causing the SUV to spin and crash into a construction fence. Even then, the driver climbed out through the window and ran into a nearby parking lot. With assistance from Atlanta police officers, Trooper Matthews deployed his Taser twice before finally gaining compliance and taking the suspect, identified as Willie Joe Williams, into custody. >> Let go. Let go. >> Investigators later noted several signs consistent with impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the odor of alcohol. An open alcoholic beverage was also found inside the vehicle. Williams was transported to a hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Fulton County Jail while other agencies pursued additional charges connected to earlier incidents. Looking back, the case illustrates how a single decision to flee can place countless drivers, officers, and bystanders in harm's way, turning an already serious situation into an even greater risk for everyone involved. >> Huh? How old are you? >> On December 27th, 2021, near mile marker 158 on Interstate 75 in Bibb County, Georgia, USA, a Georgia State Patrol Trooper observed a Ford Ranger traveling at 90 mph in a posted 70 mile per hour zone. At first, the driver appeared to slow down as if preparing to pull over, giving the impression that the stop might end without incident, but within moments, it became clear that the driver had no intention of stopping. As the trooper activated his emergency lights and siren, the pickup truck continued northbound, weaving through traffic and attempting to exit at Pio Nono Avenue. The maneuver was blocked by a tractor trailer, forcing the driver back onto the interstate.
