Hi there. How we doing? Good. How are you? I'm pretty good, man. I'm Sergeant Wells with the little police department. The reason I pulled you over is I've been following you for a bit and you got a couple lane violations. You crossed over the center line when you were coming to southbound and then you went into a neighborhood that you don't belong to. You come back out. I followed you back out and you got a couple more lane violations. How much have you had to drink tonight? >> One or two. >> One or two. All right. Do you have your registration insurance information? Yes. Where you coming from? >> Coming from Favville and my brother's apartment instead of view. >> What city? >> No. What? What city is his apartment in? >> Fville. >> Oh, you're coming from Favville. Headed to Favville. Okay. Sounds good. No, >> I'm coming from Fville. Headed to >> headed to L. Oh, he lives here in L somewhere. >> No, my brother's apartment. Okay. >> What are you doing? Uh, coming to L. >> Coming to visit. Okay. 10815 94. Vehicle's registered to you. >> My dad. >> Okay. >> Yeah, it is. Yeah, I believe. So, >> no, I think you're still good for 4 days on this one. 2023. >> Yeah. Yeah. This one expires March 16th of 23. You still get 4 days on this one. >> All right, man. Your registration insurance information back. Looks good to go. All righty, man. So, with the uh admission to drinking, I can smell the odor of intoxicants coming out of your vehicle like feel on you. Make sure you're okay to drive. Want to participate in that? Yes. Okay. All right. Would you step out of the car? Mind if I pat you down for weapons? That's fine. Okay. Will you turn around, face away from me? Just make sure you ain't got no pocket knives or handguns on you. >> Do you have any pocket knives? >> No, sir. >> Awesome. All right, come right back here for me. So, we're not in the light. I'll actually have you come right over here. Stand right there for me. Face this direction. The first one is going to be an eye test for now. Heel to heel, toe to toe, arms down to your side. I want you to follow my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Don't move your head. You understand? All righty. Just keep your head straight with mine, just your eye movement. Okay, there you go. There you go. All right, man. The next one is going to be a walk and turn test. For now, what I'm going to have you do is imagine a straight line coming out of your left foot straight out in front of you. What I want you to do for now, take your right foot, place it in front of your left foot on that line with your arms down to your side. And you can do this now. >> Right in front of your left. Right in front of the left. >> Right in front of your left. Just like that. Now, once you get into this position, I don't want you to move until I tell you to. Do you understand? Yes, sir. >> All righty. So, this is going to be a nine-step walk and turn test. When I tell you to, you're going to take nine steps down that line. Once you get to your ninth step, you'll plant your lead foot. You'll take a small series of steps around your lead foot. Then, you'll take nine hit toe steps back. And I'm going to demonstrate this for you. So, from that starting position, it'll be like so. One, two, three, and then so on until you get to nine. Assuming this is my ninth step, you'll plant your lead foot, take a small series of steps to turn back around, and then take nine more heel to toe steps down that line. One, two, three, and so on until you get to nine. Do you understand? Yes, >> sir. >> During this test, I want you to keep your arms down to your side, count your steps out loud, keep your eyes on your feet, and once you start, don't stop until you're finished. Do you understand? >> Do you need me to reexlain any part of it? >> All right. Whenever you're ready out loud. >> Yes. Count out loud, please. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Count back. Nine >> just as I explained it. All righty, man. The next one is going to be the one leg stand test. So, I'm going to demonstrate with my right foot, but you can use either one. If you got a bad leg, just pick the one that's good. Okay. So, when I tell you to, what you're going to do, put your arms down to your side, raise your foot approximately 6 inches off the ground. You're going to keep it parallel to the ground. Once you get here, you're going to count out loud. 1,00 1 1,002 1,003 and so on until I tell you to stop. Do you understand? All righty. Same as the second test. What I want you to do, keep your arms down to your side, keep your eye on the foot that's raised, and again, count out loud. Okay? You understand that test? >> Can you already explain it for me? >> Yes, sir. So, like I said, pick either foot. You'll raise it approximately 6 in off the ground. You'll keep it parallel to the ground. Once you get here, count out loud. 100 1,002 100 3 and so on until I tell you to stop. >> Okay. >> All righty. You got it. >> All righty. So, you can begin. >> Make sure you get it 6 inches in parallel. >> There you go. >> 200023 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 >> 6 in. There you go. 15 2016. >> All right, man. You can relax. All right, the next test. >> You're going to put your arms straight out to your side. This is going to require you to look up and back. Okay, so close your eyes. You're going to be touching your nose and counting. Okay, so >> up and back. >> Yep. Arms straight out. Up and close your eyes. Hands on your back. Good. Under arrest for DWI. You have anything in the car you want? >> Phone wallet. >> Where is it at? >> You mind if she gets it for you? >> So that's why you want your wallet. >> Do you have your your phone on? No, you don't have a phone on you. You have a phone in the car. >> All right, man. What's going to happen from here? You're going to be placed under arrest for DWI. We'll take you back to the police department, give you the opportunity to take the BAC certified state breath test, and then we'll go from there. Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to go back to the back right side. All right. You just got a can of dip in your pocket, correct? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Have a seat for me. >> I'll take my wallet, my phone. >> Yeah, she's getting it. >> She got it. >> Yeah. And >> I think I have my keys in my left pocket, maybe. >> Yeah, she No, she's got it. She's got him here. >> Yeah, she's got him here. >> Will I be able to make a phone call when I get to the station? >> Uh, if you end up going to the Benton County Jail, yes, you'll be able to make phone. >> Okay. You guys have >> Yes, sir. >> I don't I don't uh know my brother's phone number. How will I get that? >> I've got your phone >> so I can get his phone number. >> Oh, yeah. Like if if you end up going to the jail, you just tell the jailer, "Hey, man, I need to get a phone number out of my phone." And he'll let you do it. No problem. >> All right, we'll get you inside. Get you the hangups. I got to let you fall over here. All right, we'll go right up to the door.
