[screaming] Handcuff him right now. >> Hey adrenaline junkies. Welcome to Police Chase. Today we're kicking off a brand new series when people messed with the wrong cops where every dumb move instantly triggers justice mode. All right, let's dive in. >> [screaming] >> On Saturday at around 700 p.m. in Lach, Texas, USA, officers responded to a neighborhood water fight known online as the Purge. Police had received at least 58 calls about blocked streets soaked passers by and property concerns. What began as summer fun was quickly becoming a public safety problem. >> We got to get out of the street. Yes. I don't care that y'all are having fun, all right? But this is the 10th time. This is the 10th time that we've been out here today, okay? I can't keep coming out here. >> I know that. I know it's fun, okay? Y'all are having fun. All right, just clear out of the middle of the street. Let traffic get by. >> Body cam footage shows an officer calmly telling the crowd, "Just stay out of the street, okay?" Many initially cooperated, but moments later, the street filled again. Sometimes a simple warning can be the last quiet moment before everything changes. >> Get out of the street. All right. [screaming] >> Suddenly, water was sprayed toward the officers and containers were thrown. One officer reportedly lost her footing while her body cam fell and her soaked radio stopped working. Despite the confusion, officers remained composed and used commands, patrol lights, and sirens to regain control without using force. >> No, I'm good. >> Tried to tell them nicely to get out of the street, so now people are going to go to jail. >> The crowd was eventually dispersed and the officer temporarily left duty to dry her equipment and change uniforms. Police later reviewed the incident for possible charges while noting that most participants had cooperated. A little fun can disappear quickly when respect for public safety is forgotten. >> Did my radio pipe up or something? >> No. >> Oh, okay. Well, I think it's dead. So, >> handcuff him right now. On Thursday at around 11:30 a.m. in Titusville, Florida, USA, officers spotted 32-year-old Benjamin Hovan, a man wanted in connection with a serious home invasion and abduction case in Castlebury. He was standing beside a Mercedes at a gas station when an officer decided to check the vehicle. >> Arms behind your back now. Hands on your back. >> Back on 1794. The license plate revealed that the Mercedes had been reported stolen. As officers approached, Hovind suddenly ran, but Officer Austin Quinn was right behind him. After a brief pursuit, Quinn used a taser, allowing officers to safely take Hovind into custody. >> Handcuff him right now. Get you over here. I think over there. >> Get down. AREN'T BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. >> Investigators said Hovind was wanted over an earlier incident in which two women [music] were allegedly threatened and forced to leave an apartment with him. At a grocery store, one of them found an opportunity to quietly ask an employee to call 911. One small decision at the right moment helped authorities piece the case together. Hovind was arrested while authorities continued investigating the allegations connected to Castleberry and another case in Tallahassee. A quick vehicle check and a fast police response brought a dangerous search to an end and showed how one alert moment can change everything. >> You know who you look like. What's your name? What is your name? >> Huh? >> Dan 3137. On Sunday at around 1:30 p.m. on Beersford Road in East Cleveland, Ohio, USA, officers responded to reports of a man attacking a woman in the street and reportedly firing a gun into the air. The officers could even hear the shots from their station, signaling that every second mattered. >> HEY, [ __ ] OUT. 37 shots fired. Shots fired. Body cam footage shows officers arriving and finding the woman on the ground. But almost immediately, the suspect suddenly rushed toward them. In just seconds, a rescue call had turned into a dangerous confrontation. An officer responded to the immediate threat, but the suspect continued resisting until officers were finally able to restrain and handcuff him. Two officers were injured during the struggle, yet they stayed focused until the situation was under control. >> Back up. Back up. 3137 headquarters. Come on. Come on, buddy. >> The two officers received medical treatment and were later released. While the woman was taken for urgent care, state investigators and East Cleveland police continued reviewing the incident. What happened on this quiet street is a reminder of how quickly an ordinary afternoon can change and why calm, decisive action can matter when seconds count. You >> [ __ ] ass. Put it down so we can talk. On Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at around 11:45 p.m. at 8,820 Westimer Road in Houston, Texas, USA. Officers responded to a report of a person down inside a parking garage. When they arrived, they found one man motionless on the ground and another man identified as James Wilson standing nearby with a firearm. >> 91 frame 52, one male at gunpoint. There's going to be one complainant on the ground now responding. >> Yeah, I'm going to be to your right. I'm going to be to your right. Officers repeatedly ordered Wilson to put the weapon down. At first, he kept it pointed toward the ground while speaking to them. The officers held their positions, giving him multiple opportunities to comply. But in a situation this tense, how quickly can everything change? >> Nobody else needs to get hurt. Hey, put the gun down. Come on, put the gun and talk to me. >> I'm going to air pistol. You drop it. Drop the gun, sir. >> Brother, drop the gun and talk to me, please. Come on. Look, no one's trying to hurt you. We're just trying to make sure you're good. So, please drop the gun and come talk to me. Put it down so we can talk. Please >> drop the gun, sir. >> Put it down so we can talk. >> Moments later, Wilson raised the firearm toward the officers. Faced with an immediate threat, the officers responded within seconds to stop the danger. The confrontation ended there with no officers or bystanders physically harmed. Sanchez, you white. >> Emergency responders arrived shortly afterward while authorities secured the scene and began reviewing what had happened. It was another reminder that ignoring repeated police commands while holding a weapon can turn a tense encounter into an irreversible outcome in only seconds. >> I think we're middle on top of a pool. You got to jump the fence. She's going to come on from the back. >> On January 16th, 2025 at around 12:45 p.m. in Kier County, Florida, USA, the sheriff's office aviation unit joined a pursuit involving a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged assault on a law enforcement officer. As helicopters searched from above, authorities learned the suspect had switched vehicles and was now fleeing in a Mazda CX-5. East of 75 light traffic 424 75 and 107 southbound air's with it. We'll call it for you guys like we are going 75 southbound 75 from Pine Ridge. We may be coming. >> Romeo 120. Romeo 130 at everybody's overpass with six. >> Aviation officers located the vehicle near Pine Ridge and Airport Road, guiding ground units back into the pursuit. The Mazda then raced south on I75 reportedly exceeding 100 mph. With traffic around them and police closing in, every second carried more risk. >> 110 mph. >> I'm sorry. You didn't say you were calling. That's not prior two. >> He's moving over the number three line. Just weaving in and out of traffic. 100 milesPH medium traffic off the departure now >> going into the number two lane >> behind me with all those factors. If I can get in Romeo runway coming here with me. So, they may just take from the call here. >> All right, just getting up the exit for call here. He's in the middle lane. >> Uh, slowing down to 60 mph. It might be turning into a foot male here. >> Please make sure D3 also knows right to boost. Officers performed a pit maneuver, but the chase was not over. The suspect reversed into a police vehicle before leaving the Mazda and running toward Beck Boulevard. As he tried to climb a fence, officers quickly closed the distance. After such a long pursuit, there was suddenly nowhere left to run. >> All right, they're going in for the pit now. >> Good pit. FHP's on top of them as well. 51. You can contact them also. >> All right, they're going out for a hot stop. >> CFR. >> All right, he's trying to ramp police vehicles. Watch your crossfire, everybody. Watch your crossfire. running eastbound southbound towards the fence line off of Bank toll booth. He's going to jump the fence. He's going to be coming on back. >> I'll get one more departure out of here. >> All right, he's on top of the patrol car for that unit. On top of your patrol car. >> The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. From coordination between two aviation units to the officers on the ground, the operation ended with the situation under control. Trying to escape may buy a few more minutes, but it can also turn one bad decision into a much bigger consequence. >> We're just south of the toll boo. We're in the parking lot of the toll booster. >> He can get out. He can get out. On March 26th, 2017, at around 400 p.m. in Edund, Oklahoma, USA, officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at a Walmart near Santa Fe and Danforth. When police tried to stop the suspect vehicle, the driver sped away, turning a routine call into a high-speed pursuit. Okay, 200's primary. Uh he hit my car. We're southbound for 200 score for TBI. Speeds in XS is 70. Traffic shielding southbound from >> Okay. Uh 200 TV, but he is actively trying to hit 200. The vehicle raced south on Kelly Avenue at more than 100 mph, passing stop signs and red lights before entering Oklahoma City. With every intersection, the danger grew. Was getting away really worth putting so many people at risk? Southbound from Britain left traffic. Okay, there's gas station work. Uh channel line is called you may bring up their live beam. See if that'll help. >> Okay, we're going westbound on Wilshire from Kelly. >> On Wilshire Boulevard, the vehicle crested a hill, suddenly break, and lost control. It spun across the roadway and collided headon with another vehicle, leaving four people injured. In seconds, the attempt to escape had become something far more serious. >> [screaming] >> GET ME. YOU UNDERSTAND ME? >> He should get out. HE SHOULD GET OUT. >> OVER THERE. >> [screaming] >> DEREK LAMONT Benjamin and Shawn Deontra Bruner were taken into custody. Authorities said the charges included fleeing police, theft, and obstruction, and one of the men later received a 10-year sentence. A few minutes of reckless escape can leave consequences that last for years. >> STUPID. >> YEAH, you all over that [ __ ] YOU HIT OVER WHAT? YOU HIT ME. You hit these PEOPLE RIGHT HERE AT ME. >> On November 10th, 2023 in Homestead, Florida, USA, multiple agencies joined a pursuit involving a stolen U-Haul cargo van linked to several alleged retail thefts and an earlier confrontation with a police officer. What began as a search quickly became a dangerous chase through busy traffic. The van sped away at high speed, weaving between vehicles as Florida Highway Patrol, Homestead Police, and Miami Dade Police worked together to bring the pursuit under control. With every risky maneuver, the consequences were getting harder to avoid Despite the attempt to escape, officers eventually stopped the van and took four suspects into custody. After a tense pursuit involving several agencies, the chase was finally over. Pit >> right shoulder. They're still going. >> Got a four. LP traffic 1436 46 traffic go authorities identified the suspects as ML Tarashi Wilson Sheneka Ortha Gordon Norbert Alfonso Ba and Germal Calvin Stenited to various allegations related to retail theft, fleeing police, resisting officers, and other serious offenses. Running may create distance for a moment, but every reckless choice can add another consequence waiting at the end of the road. Highway 167 in Arkansas, USA. Trooper Holmes stopped a black Dodge Challenger traveling at 115 mph in a 60 millm paper zone. During the stop, the driver was told he was under arrest but refused to cooperate and suddenly sped away. How's it going, man? You know how fast you were going. You were Go ahead and step out of the vehicle for me. Interesting. What? The sudden acceleration briefly dragged the trooper along the roadway, leaving him injured. He quickly recovered, returned to his patrol car, and began the pursuit. The Challenger reached around 120 mph and even entered lanes meant for traffic traveling in the opposite direction. At that point, one reckless decision was putting everyone nearby at risk. Now we're at a home. Trooper Holmes eventually performed a tactical vehicle intervention, sending the Challenger off the roadway and into a chainlink fence. The passenger stayed behind and was detained, but the driver ran from the scene. Officers, drones, and a K-9 unit then began searching the area. >> Show me your hands. Show me your hands. At around 2:07 a.m., more than 3 hours after the traffic stop, the driver was spotted about 2.1 mi away near the US 82 bypass and was finally taken into custody. Trooper Holmes received medical evaluation and was cleared to return to work. The driver gained only a few hours, but turned one traffic stop into a far more serious situation. Sometimes the road you choose to escape on only leads you back to accountability. On March 1st, 2025, at about 9:33 a.m. in St. John's County, Florida, USA, troopers spotted a blue 2019 Hyundai Sonata traveling north on Interstate 95 with a license plate reported stolen. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver suddenly sped away. Whatever. The Sonata reportedly reached 137 mph, racing along the shoulder, weaving through traffic, and narrowly passing other vehicles. Even after colliding with another car, the driver continued. What began as a traffic stop had now become a dangerous highway pursuit. Anything else? I signal forward. >> With assistance from the St. John's County Sheriff's Office, troopers stayed with the vehicle until an opportunity appeared. A carefully timed pit maneuver finally brought the Sonata to a stop, ending the high-speed escape. tax again. head. >> Officers quickly moved in and took the driver into custody before securing the scene. The dash cam captured the entire sequence. A powerful reminder that one decision to flee can turn an ordinary traffic stop into minutes of danger for everyone sharing the road. >> Going to put seat belts on you. Okay. >> Yes, sir. In March 2025 in Kier County, Florida, USA, a trooper stopped a gray Toyota Yurus on Interstate 75 for reckless driving. During the stop, officers noticed the smell of cannabis and a trained K9 was brought in to assist with the investigation. As officers investigated, the driver and his juvenile passenger suddenly jumped back into the car. A taser was deployed, but the Yara sped away, reportedly exceeding 120 mph and weaving through traffic. For public safety, officers temporarily ended the pursuit. Yo yo yo yo yo. Heat. Heat. positive ID. Do you know the making model vehicle 28? >> The escape did not last long. Officers later spotted the vehicle again on Bonita Grande Drive and used a pit maneuver to bring it to a stop. Within moments, the high-speed chase was finally over. Both occupants were taken into custody. Officers reported finding 38 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 27 g of marijuana, and 110 g of THC wax along with additional evidence inside the vehicle. What began as a traffic stop had grown into something far more serious. A reminder of how one reckless decision can quickly multiply the consequence. [snorts] GET OUT one more minute. On March 10th, 2026, at around 10:00, cops on March 10th, 2026, at around 10:00. At first, it appeared to be a routine traffic stop, but within moments, the situation took a very different turn. Now, York approaching Hill. The traffic lights on red stand lights red lights. Now, Bedford Road. Instead of stopping, Noan accelerated away, leading officers through Chine Walk and Bedford Road before reaching the A45. During the pursuit, he reportedly ran several red lights and reached around 70 mph in 40 mph zones. Once on the dual carriageway, his speed climbed above 100 mph. >> Speed 110. Medium risk at this moment. Traffic remains light. No pedestrians. >> Understood. Thank you. was undertaken a slower moving vehicle. However, it's got a box. >> Then near the Wilby way roundabout. The traffic ahead came to a standstill. With fewer options to escape, Nan attempted to push through the congestion and collided with several vehicles. Officers continued to close in and eventually the suspect vehicle became boxed in. At that point, the chase was over. GET OUT THE CAR NOW. GET OUT. GET OUT. GET OUT. >> Get out of the car now. [screaming] Get out. >> Officers arrested Nanz, who was later charged with dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license. driving without insurance and failing to stop for police. He pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court and was sentenced to 13 months in prison. What began with a simple insurance issue quickly became a high-risisk pursuit, showing how one decision to keep driving can create consequences far greater than the problem that started it. >> Take it off. Bring it down. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. On May 29th, 2026, at around late evening in Rushify, Durham, England, UK, officers from the Durham Roads and armed policing unit were alerted to a suspected stolen Audi S5 approaching the area. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the 17-year-old driver refused to pull over and accelerated away >> towards Chilton. Speed 70, medium risk, come through. Going to hand over to triple 3 double crew in the high performance motor. >> Yeah, speed one chil roundabout stand for directions at the green light. It is not one, not one, not two, not two. Take the third. The pursuit quickly intensified. The Audi reportedly reached speeds of more than 140 mph while the driver was also seen taking some roundabouts on the wrong side of the road. With traffic and other road users nearby, officers had to remain focused and coordinate their response carefully. >> Ryson, we're not going to make things. Try and quartering towards Metal Bridge. >> Yes. Yes. Try and quarter metal bridge. Yeah. We're into Ferry Hill. We are 100 in the 40s. behind us now. >> Take it off. Bring it down. Keep up. Keep up. Keep going. >> Yeah, he's managed to break through. We've got smoke from the uh front left side of his wheel. Speed still at 90. Then came the turning point. Through clear communication between officers, a stinger device was deployed, reducing the vehicle's ability to continue. Just moments later, police vehicles boxed the Audi in and brought it to a controlled stop. The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody. We're now in front of him. We're in front of him. We get the weave on. We're getting tightened up. Keep on the bra. During the subsequent search, officers reportedly found multiple sets of vehicle keys, including keys associated with Ford, Mercedes, BMW, and Audi vehicles, with some appearing to have house keys attached. The teenager later pleaded guilty to offenses including dangerous driving and burglary and was remanded in custody awaiting sentencing. A pursuit that reached extraordinary speeds was brought to an end through coordination rather than continued escalation. A reminder that when every second matters, clear communication can make all the difference. >> Uh and then that'll be that one. Oh no, there's another Audi >> and another Audi key. All look like there's house keys attached. On July 8th, 2025, at approximately 1:28 p.m. in Lee County, Florida, USA, Trooper Jonathan Hernandez was monitoring traffic on I75 when he spotted a silver Chevy Silverado traveling at high speed and weaving between lanes. The speed limit was 70 mph while the vehicle was measured at 98 mph. [music] >> Hernandez activated his emergency lights, expecting the driver to pull over. Instead, the Silverado continued accelerating, changing lanes unpredictably, and nearly colliding with a pickup truck towing a trailer. Hernandez activated his siren and notified dispatch that [music] he was pursuing a reckless driver. is coming in the very strong. [music] The pursuit quickly reached more than 100 mph. Trooper Benson Prosper joined the chase and attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, but the driver avoided the maneuver and struck Prosper's patrol vehicle. Even after another collision disabled the patrol car and damaged the Silverado's front tire, the driver kept going. Near exit 157, Trooper Riley joined the pursuit and managed to push the vehicle into a grassy area. But would the driver finally stop? And the brain special. longitude. Down here down there, down there down there down there down. fire. >> The answer was almost no. The driver tried to accelerate again, but the vehicle could no longer move. Officers gave clear commands, approached the vehicle, and took the driver into custody. He was identified as Kevin Donald Rearden, too. During the vehicle search, officers reported finding multiple bottles of alcohol, marijuana, cigarettes, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medication. Rearen was taken to the hospital where his reported blood alcohol level was 0.152. After receiving medical clearance, he was transported to the Charlotte County Jail. What began as a speeding violation had turned into a dangerous pursuit and a powerful reminder that one reckless decision behind the wheel can create consequences far beyond the road. family. FBI FBI told my family. >> I didn't mean to. >> I'm thankful. >> I'm satisfied. On February 6th, 2024, at approximately 11:34 a.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, Trooper Weatherly attempted to stop a green 2003 Suzuki motorcycle on Highway 165 after clocking it at 85 mph in a 55 mph zone. But instead of pulling over, the rider suddenly accelerated toward Interstate 440. Weatherly immediately notified dispatch [music] and followed the motorcycle. The pursuit moved from Highway 165 onto I40, then I30 before continuing through several exits and connecting roads. At one point, the trooper reached speeds of more than 140 mph just to keep the motorcycle in sight. With every turn, the distance between a routine traffic stop and a serious situation seemed to grow. Eventually, the motorcycle reached Jones Street and approached East 35th Street. The rider failed to negotiate a curb, lost control, and the motorcycle went down near the roadside. Jonathan Moore was thrown from the bike and landed in a difficult area near the roadway. Responding officers quickly reached [music] him, pulled him from the roadside, and began assessing his condition while waiting for medical personnel. Take the airport. >> Moore was transported to Baptist Health Little Rock for treatment. A records check showed that his license was suspended, his registration had expired in July 2022, [music] and he did not have insurance. The motorcycle was later taken away by a towing company. What began with a speeding violation had turned into a high-risisk pursuit, reminding us that on the road, one decision to keep going can change the entire course of an ordinary day. On December 7th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, an officer patrolling near Roosevelt Road and University Street, spotted a gray 2010 Jeep Patriot displaying fictitious tags. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, expecting a routine traffic check. Instead, the driver immediately accelerated west on 36th Street. Nora, show me 1037. United. >> Connection established. >> The Jeep quickly reached around 90 mph in a 35 mph zone. The pursuit continued through city streets until officers carried out a tactical vehicle intervention at 36th Street and Romine Road. The vehicle stopped, but the occupants were not ready to give up. The driver, Octavius Shavers, and passengers Damen Townsen and Jonathan Aker jumped out and ran in different directions. Traffic moderate. Traffic moderate. on 36. I'm turning lower street lower street. Officers immediately pursued all three on foot. As Shavers continued running, an officer deployed a taser, successfully bringing him under control. For a moment, the frantic chase through the streets finally began to slow down, but officers still had two more people to locate. >> Don't [ __ ] move. Okay. >> My [ __ ] idea. >> What? You [ __ ] ran from me. He said he put the gun on me, bro. I said go. >> What was he supposed to do? He caught that [ __ ] >> Townsend and Aker were later taken into custody and all three were transported to Baptist Health for medical clearance. The two passengers reported no injuries while Shavers sustained minor facial injuries and received treatment before being transferred to the Palaski County Jail. What began with a questionable license plate had turned into a high-speed pursuit and a foot chase. Sometimes a decision that takes only a second can create consequences that last far longer. On November 30th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA, trooper Victor Garcia spotted a small black passenger car traveling north on South Carowway Road with expired dealership tags. He activated his emergency lights, expecting the driver to pull over. Instead, the vehicle accelerated and continued north, turning a routine traffic stop into a pursuit. The driver, later identified as Shamaya Johnson, continued through Race Street and onto Fair Park Boulevard. Garcia attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, but the first attempt was unsuccessful. He tried again, and this time the maneuver caused the vehicle to spin approximately 360° before coming to a stop, but the situation was far from over. Johnson immediately got out and ran through a Lowe's parking lot. Garcia repeatedly ordered her to stop, but she kept going until reaching the garden center. Then, in an unexpected turn, Johnson climbed onto a stack of mulch pallets and refused to come down for several minutes. When she finally descended, she tried to run again. Garcia caught up, took hold of her arm, and struggled to place her in handcuffs. >> Is your ID in here by chance, >> sir? >> Is your ID or anything like >> After continued resistance, Garcia guided Johnson to the ground and was eventually able to secure her in handcuffs without further incident. What started with expired dealership tags had become a pursuit involving a vehicle, a parking lot, and a foot chase. It is a simple reminder that when an officer signals you to stop, choosing to cooperate can prevent a routine encounter from becoming something much more complicated. On July 14th, 2025, at around midday in Sebastian, Florida, USA, deputies were alerted that Sebastian police had attempted to stop a silver Lexus SUV, but the driver refused to pull over. The driver was identified as Steven Sultic, who authorities said had an active felony warrant. >> Hey, he's trying to back out. He's attempting the fleet right now. >> 11:04. That's 104 is at the Waso cause. >> Deputies later located the Lexus near Wabaso Causeway. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle again, Sultic immediately accelerated away, maneuvering around two patrol cars before speeding across the causeway. Officers followed as the Lexus continued westbound and then northbound. 1104, I do have an opportunity to pit once we get off the bridge. >> Conditions 114, I copy. So far, road conditions, light traffic. The pursuit continued at speeds of approximately 70 mph. Officers attempted a controlled intervention, but the Lexus kept moving. Pit not successful. He's [screaming] attempting to flee again. Started his vehicle. Logic. Copy. Coming up to the vehicle. Coming up to the 9,000 block. Vehicles maintain it. Lane speeds approximately 70 miles an hour. >> Eventually, police managed to bring the vehicle to a stop and initiated a high-risk traffic stop, ordering Salty Sick to step out with his hands visible. For a moment, officers also had to account for a dog inside the vehicle. KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. >> HANDS UP. HANDS UP. >> KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. >> HEY, slow down. Slow down. >> After several tense moments, Salty Sik eventually followed the officer's instructions and was taken into custody. He was later checked for minor cuts while officers discussed the next steps for transporting him. What began with an attempt to avoid a traffic stop [music] had turned into a much more serious encounter. Reminding us that choosing to flee rarely makes the original problem disappear. It often makes the consequences much heavier. Listen to these a little please. HEY. >> On August 3rd, 2026 at around 10:39 a.m. in Arkansas, USA, officer V. Orton was dispatched to 10:11 W Main Street following a report of a disturbance involving an 18-wheeler and another vehicle. The truck driver told officers that a woman, later identified as Aliyia Burton, had tried to make him stop before pulling alongside his truck and confronting him. >> 323 28. >> Good. >> Boy, King George 33 Charles on a Is this her? HEY, PULL pull up here. Pull up here. Pull up here. Officers attempted to calm the situation and keep traffic moving. Officer Dunlap instructed Burton to move her vehicle ahead, but according to the report, she became increasingly agitated. Officers then asked her to step out of the vehicle. What had started as a roadside dispute was quickly becoming much harder to control. Come over here. Come over here. Get off the phone. >> WHAT? >> Get off the phone. Get off the phone or I'm going to put you in handcuffs. >> What am I doing? >> Get off the phone. ARE YOU ARE YOU ON the phone still? >> NO, I'M NOT ON THE PHONE. >> CAN I TALK TO YOU, PLEASE? CUZ I CAN'T TALK TO YOU. DON'T TOUCH ME. >> STOP. [screaming] >> I DON'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING. >> SERIOUS. >> STOP. STOP. [screaming] I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. >> YOU HIT ME TWICE. As officers attempted to place Burton in handcuffs, the situation escalated. According to the report, Burton struck Officer Dunlap on the side of the head. Officers continued trying to gain control, and even after she was restrained, she reportedly managed to free one hand before officers secured her again. In moments [music] like this, officers have to stay focused while trying to bring the situation under control as safely as possible. >> I'm trying to 349 1. is going INTO THE FREAKING GROUND. >> OW. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> I CAN'T SEE. >> GET UP or I'm going to put you IN THE CAR. >> CAN YOU HOLD ON? I CAN'T. WHY ARE Y'ALL BEING SO AGGRESSIVE? >> GET IN THE CAR. >> CAN I TALK TO Y'ALL? >> GET IN THE CAR. GET IN THE CAR. >> I'M JUST TRYING TO TALK TO YOU. >> ARE YOU [ __ ] kidding me right now? >> CAN I JUST TALK TO YOU? I WAS TRYING TO TALK TO HIM. HE GOT MAD AT ME. I'M JUST TRYING TO BE YOUR BACK. >> OKAY. After Burton was secured in the patrol vehicle, officers conducted an inventory search of her vehicle. During that process, officer Dunlap reportedly found a bag containing a green leafy substance. Burton was then taken into custody while officers continued documenting the incident. What began as a roadside disagreement had turned into an arrest, reminding us how quickly emotions can change the direction of an ordinary encounter, and why staying calm can sometimes prevent a situation from going MUCH FURTHER. [screaming] ON December 7th, 2024 in Orange County, Florida, USA, Florida Highway Patrol and local police were responding to a street takeover near Emerald Dunes Drive and Lee Vista Boulevard. As officers blocked the exits, a white Honda Accord suddenly drove onto the sidewalk, attempting to get around the patrol vehicles. way up. I want you to make the way out. A trooper followed with lights and siren activated, but the driver refused to stop and continued on to Lee Vista Boulevard. The first PT maneuver spun the Honda around, yet the driver kept going. At this point, one risky decision had turned into an increasingly dangerous pursuit. The trooper performed a second pit maneuver, causing the Honda to overturn and finally bringing the pursuit to an end. Officers quickly approached and detained the driver, later identified as Elias Borgos. [clears throat] Bergos and his female passenger were checked by emergency personnel with no serious injuries reported. Bergos was taken into custody for fleeing to elude and was also cited for his involvement in the street takeover. A shortcut to escape police had only created a much longer road of consequences. On April 8th, 2025, at about 3:20 p.m. in Orlando, Florida, USA, an FHP trooper clocked a tan Chevrolet Malibu at 91 mph in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 4. When the trooper activated his lights and siren, the driver accelerated instead of stopping. >> We got a vehicle not stopping from eastbound out of Tennessee. Bravo Bravo Mike 31 traffic. You're in the express lane. We're in We're in the express lane right now. The Malibu reportedly exceeded 100 mph, weaving through traffic and colliding with three civilian vehicles before continuing. A pit attempt briefly spun the car around, but the driver managed to keep going. What began as speeding was quickly becoming something far more serious. >> Traffic's miles heavy conditions are dry. division. All units you location still heading westbound. Red light coming up east. I got the radio southbound. >> We're going over four on Anderson. respond to the inter. >> The pursuit finally ended at a parking lot on East South Street. The driver identified as Tristan Steven Dixon ran from the vehicle but was quickly apprehended.
