good morning valua Sheriff Mike Chitwood here at Atlantic high school today was the first day that a high school in Valia county is using metal detectors powered by artificial intelligence and I have to tell you for the first day went pretty well there's 1,200 students here the goal is to get all 1200 through in a matter of minutes uh think airport security and then the most important thing is this you know my staff has toured Parkland I personally have had interactions with parkland's families and you'll learn about the failures and things that could have done better this is just another step in a multi-layered approach to keep our students our teachers our school staff safe that's what this is all about you cannot put a price on our children's lives and that's what the goal is here if if you can stop that weapon before it gets on campus you stop the shooting if that weapon gets on campus you have failed
