Hi. >> Hi. I'm sorry. I'm a participant in reactive abuse to being abused for months on end. >> Okay. So, what's going on? >> He won't. He's been jobless for 3 years. Like, oh, I have Oh, but now today I have a an interview. Like, I've been paying every single bill for over 3 years. We had to move from New Jersey to Illinois just to afford. so we wouldn't become houseless. He does everything in his power to mess with me in every possible way. And this morning, I hadn't slept all weekend because of him. He keeps messing with me. And he woke me up and I told him I need to be woken up and he kept pressing me and making me wake up. And I snapped and I yelled and I was screaming and yelling and freaking out because I'm It's been I I haven't recorded. I don't know what I want to show you. I don't know why he called the police when this could have been a one-on-one altercation and why he's doing this. Like, he hurts me, too. Like, I have photos and videos of bruises where I had to hide bruises from my co-workers. It's like if we're talking about tip for tier and now I have to get in trouble because >> Juven by chance I'm like >> what's your >> I'm very sorry now. >> I I can see it. All right. >> So I'm just like I'm providing everything. Like he's a full-blown alcoholic. I buy his alcohol. I pay for his run. I pay for anything you could ever think of, my dad. And I'm sure he's telling some sort of a sob story like >> I'm being financially and emotionally abused on such a level. >> Okay, >> I'm going to go talk to my partner and hang out with by the partner right here. >> I really think I had so many meetings. Meaning all my meetings on Friday, April, very similar things. He does this every day. >> Did you guys move to Illinois for work? >> I moved because I work out here and go. >> Sorry. Allergies. >> It's okay. I couldn't afford to pay for full rent in New Jersey anymore. >> That expensive out there. >> I don't think anybody should be expected to pay for their partner's rent when you agree to go have an >> I don't disagree. >> Like it's okay to help. I'm doing everything >> now. You two aren't married, right? You just dating. >> No, don't worry. He proposed to me seven years ago in >> Oh, so you guys have been together a long time. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Now, was anyone originally from the area or did you just move here because of work? Because of work. Okay. >> Works that I'm not going to miss. >> Gotcha. >> They have their >> Yeah. You don't have to tell them anything right now. Just tell them that you're running a little late, you know. Um I don't know what's going to happen. Okay. So, >> expect me to get taken away. >> In in a nutshell here, >> this might end in documentation or this might end in someone coming with us. We don't know. I We have to talk to everybody. We have to try to cuz I'm and I I'm sorry. I don't if you already know this, I apologize for like preaching the choir, but when folks are involved in something, right? I've never had that. >> We We see things through our own lens and through our own perspective. And so you might be telling me your truth, he might be telling me his truth, but sometimes like what happened is somewhere in the middle. So that's what we try to figure out before we make any kind of rash decisions on if someone's going to jail or not, you know? So just I can't promise anything, but just give us some time to try to figure some stuff out. Okay? >> I can tell you I'm not a bad person. I've been doing my best to provide everything for us and give him so much leeway. >> What was uh what did he do before he stopped working? >> Looking at other girls like >> What was he doing for work before he stopped working? >> He's the assistant manager at a liquor store. >> Oh, okay. >> And then I got a decent job, so he just figured he didn't have to work me. >> Oh. And now you're stuck with paying all the bills and all that stuff and >> and no help. >> I'm guessing cuz all all you guys >> I'm sure he's playing victim. He does that really really well. It's >> all your guys' family, I'm guessing, is on the East Coast. >> Yeah. I wish my mom and dad were here right now to test the type of person he is cuz he's lived with them and we got kicked out of their house. He's such a bad person. >> I'm completely arranged for my family. He's a good person and I care about him so much and he just keeps taking >> it's like the story of the giving tree and I'm like this stump but instead of just sitting on it he's like stomping on it and making fun of it for not being a tree anymore and I don't know what to do. I'm in the middle of the country. Well, I mean, I'm not a marriage counselor or a relationship counselor, but it sounds like this relationship isn't working. >> No. >> Um, >> I'm not. And I would never There are so many times where I could have called you guys, but I didn't. >> I believe you. I believe you >> because I would never want to hurt him. That's the difference. He wants to hurt me. >> Now, it's very confusing. >> I'm not I'm not saying you guys should break up or anything like that. got I no marriage counselor. >> If you guys were to break up, would you stay out here in the Midwest or would you go back to the East Coast? >> I have no idea. >> You don't know yet. >> Okay. >> So, what's going on? What happened? >> So, my partner here, Officer Sebaceous, he's the one who actually has to do the documentation. So, that's why he's got to ask you again. So, we apologize for making >> from New Jersey. Um, we got engaged. I do notice I am not wearing a ring because no one over fixed it over 70 years ago or 3 years ago he left his job as an assistant manager in the liquor store. You're supposed to get a job within 6 months. He has no idea. I'm constantly emotionally abused. I'm being financially abused obviously. He's a fullblown alcohol. like wake up 700 a.m. That's what I hear. >> I pay for all of the everything. He messed with my sleep all weekend. He was missing me all last week. I had work that I like got done that I had to redo cuz I was so upset when I was doing it. I got completely torn around. Like I've been doing nothing but try to provide for him and he's been nothing but making it absolutely impossible. Like I had to be online two extra days last weekend because I messed up so bad cuz I was all twisted up cuz he trying to think of it like when we went white water rafting in Virginia with his group of friends all of them turned around and ignored him when he would speak. He's that kind of a person. >> So what happened today though that caused us to get called out here? He woke me up to get up at like before 56 that he had me all upset last night. Apologize like >> he didn't even sleep in our room. He slept on the sofa and he comes and you have to get up right now cuz I need to take a shower. Meanwhile, right now literally I'm missing a a meeting for work. Like no, I had a meeting. >> What I'm saying though, so what happened today? He's he's got all sorts of scratches and bruises all over. >> He's had a lot of those from drinking and falling all over our part, >> but there's like fresh scratches on his neck. And so what happened next? There was obviously something physical that happened. >> I got very upset and I grabbed him and asked him to please tell me sorry. And he wouldn't say sorry. So does that mean I have to go with you? >> Yeah. So the problem in the state of Illinois, any physical encounter that results in injuries, there's no choice. He doesn't want you arrested, but there's absolutely no choice now because the severity of the injuries. >> So, you are under arrest. So, go ahead. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Yeah. >> Can you please give me my phone and my key so we can police on my team? Then I'm not going to >> Why don't Why don't we take your phone with you? You can have your phone. Um, do you want it? Whose car is it? Is it yours or both of yours together? >> My car. >> Okay. Do you want >> have a license? Okay. So, >> so how about this? How about we don't give him the key so he doesn't get in trouble with your car. Okay. >> I just need someone to fill my job. >> Well, and you can >> we'll let you call too if you want to call. That's fine. As soon as we get back to the police department, >> do you have anything? >> Call five. Can you mark the time? One female in custody. >> We have a female officer working. So, when we get you the police department, she needs to do an actual search. You don't have anything on you you're not supposed to have? No. >> No weapons. >> Where are we? >> Just walk right over here to to my car. >> Can someone I need >> Yeah, it'll take a few minutes to get >> It'll take a few minutes to get to the station. I don't have the port keys. Sorry. >> She wants to call him. You want to put it on? You can do that. >> I can't call my coworker and tell them you're right. >> No, you don't have to tell them anything. And we don't tell them anything. You could tell them whatever you want. Tell them you're sick. >> Tell them, you know, tell them that you had some stomach pain, something. I mean, >> oh my god. >> Do you want to do that now or do you want to wait till we get to the station so you have some time to process everything? >> Can you please car now? >> All right. Can you I don't know if you're going to be able to get your >> Okay. So, uh, phone. >> Can you just tell my >> Sure. What's the Who? >> Can you start dialing at the top? Emily. >> Emily. E. Um, >> Emily Dash. >> Okay. I'm I'm not I'm not here. I'm going to turn my radio down and then you just I have to put on speaker. >> So embarrassed. >> It's okay. I'm done. >> Hey. >> Hey. Um, so I had something come up and I'm not going to be online for at least half of today. Do you think you could possibly pass the message along? I'm going to um update my head out of office as soon as I can. >> Yeah. Are you okay? >> Yeah, everything's okay. I'll talk to you later, though. >> Okay. >> Okay. Bye. Thanks, Emily. >> Uh-huh. >> So, when we get back to the station, we'll let you do what you need to do online to like call in sick and all that stuff. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. But yeah, like I said, you don't have to tell them nothing. I'm not going to tell them nothing. Um, unless you say something. It's not like your job's going to find out about this because we don't go put this in the Tribune or anything like that. So, just >> Why does he get so emotionally abused? >> No. And I hear you. And so what we're going to do too is when we get to the station, we're going to get you we're going to give you some resources. I I'll move this. I'm just putting your temporary. I just want to get >> I wanted to call you guys so many times. I love him too much. I would never hurt them like this. Well, >> I'm going to put this in the front seat here. Okay.
