While searching for a suspect wanted on aggravated battery and robbery charges in the [music] East Washington area, officers encountered two men who matched the general description. What seemed like a routine stop quickly took an unexpected turn when officers realized one of them was hiding more than just his name. >> Can I go get my clothes? Can I get my phone? >> Hang on. We'll get it to you. I want you to stay over there. >> I appreciate it, man. I just got this god damn job, man. What I'm worried about >> What makes you think that's going to make it better, man? You could have been over there and out and hell, you probably could have had an NTA tonight and have been been released on a ticket tonight if you if you wouldn't have lied to us. Okay? Cuz that's how it works, bud. Okay? It would have been at most and at best probably a state NTA. >> I'm going to I don't even do anything, man. No, I have to bring it. I have to bring it today. Sir, I'm not lying to you. I have to bring it today at the orientation at 10:00 in the morning. I don't have it only because my shoes have been stolen and my clothes and everything. >> but she's got it squared away with this, man. If you don't lie about something, you're good. We'll get to it. You're comfortable with him having your stuff, yeah? I want you to say that because I'm not going to just take your stuff. You're okay? Say it, yes or no. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. >> Can I I need a phone, cuz >> Do you want Do you want your phone or not? You can take the phone with you. >> Unless you get your phone on the outside of the of the jail. >> All right. >> What's up? All right, let's go to the car. You got the phone? >> Damn, man. Please, man. >> What's up? >> I'm trying. I'm really trying my best, man. >> You got to be honest with us. >> Hard it is. You know how hard it is? >> You want to unlock it? >> Yeah. >> I'm feeling to stop, man. Dog, I could have stayed, cuz I could have just stayed in here, man. >> Stay over in there. >> I could have just stayed inside of the shelter. >> Fix it. >> Instead of this, man. Look at this [ __ ] man. I could have just stayed in here, man. >> Take a seat. >> Lorenzo, sit down. [clears throat] >> I'm going to deck you real quick. >> Good. [ __ ] man. [ __ ] man. >> Good job. Brian, you cut off on the MTA anyway. You get your jail. You got everything you need? >> Yes. >> I didn't hear what it what was this for. >> Obstructing justice cuz he lied about his name because he has a warrant. [laughter] So, the warrant's getting confirmed. It should be confirmed by the time you get over there. Um so, just make sure that we mark ourselves 95 for it. Um and then we're just taking him over for the warrant. But, then we have to draw the case file because he lied about who he was for the obstructing justice. All you have to do is start You know what? Just give it to me. I can do it cuz he lied to me. I gave you the FI card. >> Oh, you want that? >> I need this cuz I know who he is. I just need his name cuz this is what he lied. So, I'll take the case. You just transport. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Yep. No, they're not laughing at you, little guy. I promise you that. M-K 786 >> How can I help you? >> CBD one male warrant >> Is it a Jefferson County warrant? >> Yeah. >> Someone is >> What's up? Say it again. What one of So, they just brought They just brought somebody in there? I I understand that. I would open the door, but like I said, I can't once we're in here. Okay? So, once they're they're doing a female in there right now, once she's out of that room, they're going to come and get you out, okay? No, I can Like you see that sign on the door right there, the red one that says notice? Right Well, I'm just letting you like right under that red sign on the door, that little white sign under it that says leave the people in the cars until a correction officer comes and gets them. So, we can't We can't let you out. We can't open the door. I just You just got to hold on, okay? Nope. Sorry, man. Yeah, like I said, it doesn't show me on my computer, but these guys should be able to explain it to you cuz they'll get more information. Okay? So, the one they were explaining to you was a state NTA. So, it counts as an arrest, but it's technically just a We just give you a ticket with a court date. But, if you miss the court date, then you know, a warrant is placed out on you. So, like we do We can do that in some some instances, but in this one, Jefferson said no, so Well, it was because of the fact that you lied about your name and about because of the warrant, we weren't We can't do the NTA. But, Jefferson also doesn't want you released on an NTA. They want They're going to I They're probably going to come and pick you up. >> All right.
