It seemed like everyone in the courtroom today almost gasped when 21-year-old Dorian Lucas read his letter. The judge later said it vividly showed he had no remorse for his deadly crimes and sentenced Lucas to 25 years in prison. Earlier this month, Lucas pleaded guilty to four charges stemming from three separate crimes. In October 2010, he was running from police when he hit Natasha Lawson. She died 6 weeks after the accident. Police were still investigating the fatal crash in April 2011 when Lucas shot and killed his friend Jamal Moore inside a West Grand View apartment. This video contains the interview of a man who shot and killed another gang member. Dorian L. Lucas had a long history of violence in his juvenile record. This pattern continued into adulthood as he became more entrenched with the Dayton View Hustlers, a local gang. Lucas had avoided arrest for various charges, including vehicular homicide. But his criminal run ended when he was brought in for the shooting of Jamal Moore. Lucas and Moore had been arguing, and as the fight became more [music] heated, guns were pulled. Lucas shot Moore seven times, and several of the shots were in Moore's back [music] as he tried to flee. Moore lived for 9 minutes after the shooting as he attempted to crawl from the apartment. Um, this is just that you saw me write the information, wrote the date, time, and then all the information um that I just asked you, I'm going to interview you in regards to the crime of murder. Before we ask you any questions, I want to make sure you understand your rights. Can you read right number one out loud to me? The detective doesn't waste any time dancing around the issue. Lucas knows why he has been brought in, so she is going to start with the direct approach rather than leading up to the accusation gradually. I think you know what this is about. Okay. So, let's kind of get through the form and we'll start talking. Okay. I I don't know nothing about no murderment. Okay. Well, um I know you've already went through your rights with Detective Doy, but I want to make sure you understand them before I talk to you. So, we'll get through this and we'll start talking. Okay. So, read your um read number one out loud to me. You have the right to remain silent. You do not have to make any statements or answer any questions. Okay. Do you understand that? Okay. Okay. I want you to put your initials next to the number one. And that means you understand what you just read and go ahead with number two. Any anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. Okay. You understand that? Okay. I need a yes or no. You understand that? Okay. Yes, ma'am. Okay. Go ahead with three. Hold on. Hold on. Anything you say can be used. So, you do not have to make All right. Uh, you have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before you ask before we ask you any questions and to have a lawyer with you during question. You understand that? Okay. Yes, ma'am. Okay. If you do not have the money to hire a lawyer, a lawyer appointed by the court or a law lawyer from the public defenders office will be provided provided to you before and during questionings without any cost to you. You understand that? Okay. Okay. If you if if you decide to answer questions no now without a lawyer present you will still have the right to stop answering at any time. You also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer. You understand that? Okay. Yes ma'am. Okay. Now this little paragraph is called your waiver of rights. Can you read that for us? The above statement of rights has been read to me. I understand what my rights are. I'm willing to make a statement and answer questions. I do not want a lawyer at this time. I understand and know what I'm doing. No promise promises promises or threats have been made to me and no pressures or concerns of any kind has been used against me. Okay. This word is coercion. Do you know what coercion means? Yeah. The dude was trying to explain naming the gun or threaten to say something. Right. I'm not threatening you or um making you try to say something. So when it says no promises or threats have been made to me and no pressure or coercion or trickiness of any kind has been used against me. I understand that. Okay. Okay. How many years of school have you completed? 10. Did you stop in the 11th grade or did you stop in the 10th grade? Wow. Life skills. Um they really don't have grades, do they? Grades. Okay. So let's go ahead and put 10 here since you've completed 10 years. And go ahead and sign. And that just means you understand everything you read. Okay. Okay. Jordan, you got really nervous when I came in here and detective daughter said it was from Dayton. Okay. And who I want to talk to you is about Molly Jamal Moore. Okay. I know you guys were like friends forever. Did you guys grow up together? Okay. I've talked to a lot of people who you talked to and I think there's some things that you need to tell me what happened that day. Lucas is given the news that the detective has already talked to other people. He has no way of knowing what was said and whether or not he will be able to get away with lying cuz I think somebody else was involved with this shooting with him. Like Jason Shern specifically. Okay. It was serious. They really thought I did that. No, I know you did it, Dorian. I know because you told a lot of people and all these people have come forward. I've got the gun. It matches. This is something you just you need to talk about and get off your chest and be truthful with. Okay. I ain't I ain't kill him. I didn't kill him. You need to tell me what happened in that apartment. That apartment was our spot. I ain't I swear to God I ain't kill him, miss. I No. Okay. I know it was called the spot. That's That's where we was trapping at. Um, it was it been going it been me and Molly we we did grow up together. We everybody in the house did. Me and him we used to have little arguments and disagreements and we used to be getting into it because he used to aim his gun at me. He used to always aim it at me and threaten me. And he did that a couple weeks before he was killed, didn't he? He was doing that even he was doing that almost every day. even though I was stupid and still coming around cuz you don't do that to people you love or anything. That's right. So I was never taking him serious. Then um Sharon Sharon and Rocky Rob. Sharon and Rocky Rob. Rocky Rob. He the dude he he got killed in Hamilton. He got killed in Hamilton. Like Rocky Rob. Yeah. He his real name Robert something. He grown. He grown. He just died in Hamilton. He got shot up. Okay. And um mommy, we all used to not work for him, but we used to trap for him. Like he was like the plug. Tell me what trap is. I don't know what that means. Hustling, trying to get some money. Okay. Were you selling drugs for sure? Um I was not selling drugs for sure. I was not selling drugs for nobody. I was selling for yourself when I was selling. Okay. Okay. And I stopped selling cuz I I I caught a charge that I ain't I a was not even selling at the time. Even though I was selling, they caught me, but I ain't have nothing. But they were saying they found drugs on me. So I stopped selling to beat my charge, but I was going to court and they told me it was not me. So I left. Um but Sharon and Rocky Rob, they used to I don't know if they used to joke with Molly, but they used to always say, "We got money [clears throat] on your head. We going to get you merked. We going to get you merked. Then they used to try to tell me about it like cuz we used to be arguing and they be saying it to me like, "Bro, when you going to take him serious? You know he killed Alonzo. When you going to take him serious?" No. Are you talking about Molly taking him serious? No. No. They telling me. Yeah. Taking Molly serious. Know he killed Alonzo and he shot the dude BG. That's um Trell or Trevor. He just he he killed the boy on Popeye's and on the news it said he beat it for self-defense but he killed dude he was trying to rob dude and he killed him but they I guess he told the story that dude tried to rob him but no Molly popped him so they telling me like he already killed Lonzo he killed um he popped BG just a couple weeks ago what you going to do you going to take him serious and I kept saying like bro he ain't serious he had to bang got me I don't keep no strap he been got So, um, we was arguing. Then one day, um, I think Easter, we get to arguing. We get to arguing and he aimed his gun at me. Then Ron and Jimmy and know they bought guns. Lo, he bought a gun and Sharon, he had two guns. He had a 38 and a 45. Miley had a 45. Was it was a tech and a Mac 90. It was couple guns, but I'm the only one that had no gun. That's why I was getting the story in. Lucas's words pour out like a waterfall. He can't seem to tell his story fast enough. The detective takes as many notes as possible so she can check for discrepancies more thoroughly when he's done. Right now on my Patreon page, you can watch the interrogation of a suspect who killed a man and then tried to run over a police officer while trying to escape. Watch him burst into tears during his interrogation, thinking it may help him get away with it. Watch this video and many more right now at patreon.com/strangerstories plus. I never said that part to nobody cuz I felt like a [ __ ] a little bit. But um I remember the last time I seen Miley when we got into it, he aimed his gun at me and I left. I left. Then Thursday, Thursday night, he called me. He called me and he he was telling me he gonna merk me on on his daddy. He tal he talked to Sharon well we call Sharon Nater saying um he talked to Nater and they got something in store for me. They got something planned for me and everything and um Nater and them I know everything about Sharon that's we call me Nater cuz mama all don't know me all that and I'm the one that usually put up everything. So, um, I put up the straps. I put up the straps. It was It was a It was a 9 45 I think another 45 and 32 or something. I put him up in the spot cuz I I was going to school, but I'm waiting on Sharon that morning. Friday morning. I'm waiting on Shern. I put the straps up. Put the straps up in the apartment. Yes, ma'am. Okay. I put the straps up cuz you can lift the carpet up with the straps up. Then Molly, he supposed to he got his own cars on Rams but he was with Sharon when Sharon pull up. So I get in the car. Molly threatened me again, but he waited till I gave Sharon my money. Gave Sharon some money. He up strapped on me and start talking [ __ ] Then he touched my hips and was telling me he was going to kill me. Then you feel me? Sharon, he start laughing about it. Then he told Sharon, feel me? If anything get said or anything when when [ __ ] do happen, he was going to get him too. Then he was telling me like, "Yeah, we about to pull up. If you still here, I'mma kill you. I'mma kill you." So like, and he fooling. He fooling. Mhm. I go to school. Went to school then. Um, and this is Friday morning, right? This Friday like 11 or 12. Okay. I go to school. Then my [ __ ] Kenny, he called me like, "Yeah, I'm going to come pick you up from school." Then I'm like, "All right, I'm about to leave." He like, "Where you about to go?" I'm like, "Shit, I'm about to go out of town." But everybody knew I was going out of town. This been my biggest thing I was telling everybody about. I'm about to go to Georgia to go to school. I was They was telling me I couldn't leave cuz I was going to court. But after I start going to court and they was telling me it was not me cuz I was signing myself in. There's a place downtown. You got to go in the big building, go upstairs and get in the drug program. And they was telling me go to school, go to the job center, get food stamps, all that. So, you know, I did all that. They they didn't say nothing. So, you feel me? It's the weekend. I'm already planning to leave. That's why I never take nobody serious. I'm just thinking they getting mad at me cuz I'm getting at getting out. I'm telling her I want parts. I'm cool. But I changed my life around. So that's when Kenny dropped me off at our apartment on Maine. I get dropped off. Then I go to Georgia. Then I don't even think Saturday morning. I was getting phone calls. Molly dead. Molly dead. Is you all right? Cuz you be in the spot with him. I'm like, yeah, I'm cool. Molly dead. Like how how he just died? He just was talking [ __ ] You feel me? They like, "Damn, Molly dead. They somebody ran in there and killed them." I'm like, "What? Hell no." So, I'm like, "Bo, I'm about to come back for the funeral." But not even an hour or two. All the calls. It's different. Ain't no cause worried about me no more or worried about Molly telling me, "You killed Molly, we going to kill you. Better not come to the funeral. Don't come back to the city." All this. So I always been thinking what what was going on like damn what what happened? I can't go to the funeral cuz everybody already said they going to kill me. I can't go to the funeral. Then I just stayed down there for a couple like a month or two. Then I came back. I ran into I ran into Rocky Rob and and Sharon and I was asking him what's up. But Sharon, he he was not like the same no more. He he even tried to kill me. I had to take off running. Lucas is trying to convince the detective that his life was in danger. This was true at least to some extent just because of the nature of being involved in a gang. It was not even the same cuz he kept on when I seen Sher I'm like damn bro why everybody think that was me who did that to Molly? because Miley got popped 15 times before, but I never I'm not knowing somebody about to kill me or it was planned because I start hearing stories, you feel me? It was planned for for me to die. Then they end up doing Molly. That's that's why I seen Molly. I'm just looking what? No, I ain't I ain't I never knew it was people was actually really thinking it was me cuz I Hey, Doran, let's go back to Friday morning. Kenny picks you up from school, right? From Life Skills. And where do you go? You go to the spot. Nah, I ain't go to the spot. There was no point. Molly told me if I come back, he was going to kill me. I'm calling Sharon. But you thought that Molly, he was just talking because he he'd been threatening you for a couple weeks, hadn't he? A couple couple months. Yeah. Pulling a gun out on you, distorting me, taking getting money. taken your money from you and that's cuz and you were mad. You said you felt like a [ __ ] right? And you knew that's that's after everything, man. Cuz my baby mama house got shut up and everything. So it's like a little anger getting built up cuz I ain't had nothing to do with Molly. Swear to God if anything was happen cuz it was happening that it was straps everywhere. You feel me? All that. And Molly, I was never taking it serious. Only reason I took him serious this morning that I left him, I wanted to go to school cuz he was putting on his dead daddy. He was going to kill me. And usually I still talk [ __ ] to him. Like, bro, you got me [ __ ] up. I ain't hearing you. That [ __ ] dead. Feel me? I'm still staying in the spot, but he put on his dead daddy. So, what do you mean? He I don't understand what you mean. He put on his dead daddy. My daddy, I'mma kill you. Oh. When we come back, he was telling me I can't come to the trap no more. If I can't make no money no more, none of that. Then that's why I never take me serious cuz it seemed like they hating on me. I'm telling them about court and they keep on asking like, "Boy, what happened in court?" Like, "Shit, they said it ain't even me." You feel me? Even Sharon told me I was the police since they told me it was not me. He was telling me that before he caught this little body and But you put the guns in the spot, right? You said a 32, a 45, and a nine. Is that right? It was It was a couple more straps in there. Couple more in there, too. Okay. Cuz I was Thursday, I was the last one in there and that's when I went back to our apartment. Then we all supposed to meet up, but Molly caught me turning [snorts] to me then. And he said he was putting it on his daddy, right? Yes, ma'am. Okay. So, I [clears throat] went to school. I went to school because Sharon and said they going to pull right back up. But that's when he gave me when we pull up when my daddy kill you. So it don't be here. So I went to school to give him time to to to clear it. Kind of chill out a little bit. Okay. Then we went to the apartment. Me and Kenny, we went to our apartment. We went to the apartment. I'm calling Sharon like come. You got to come to me. I'm not coming over there. I'm cool. You got to come to me. He keep saying, "I'mma be there. I'mma be there." And that's one of my little [ __ ] Anisha. She was telling me she was still on her way to come get me cuz I was coming down there to go to school. did not live. Okay. You know what I think happened? I think you went to the spot and then Molly pulled out a gun and he was threatening you and then you shot him in self-defense. That's what I think happened. Rather than accuse Lucas of murder outright, the detective gives him a chance for a partial admission by saying it was self-defense. That would make sense. That makes a lot more sense than what you're trying to tell me. Don't you agree? Because you knew there were guns there and Molly's been picking on you and picking on you and picking on you for the last couple weeks. I think that's what happened. Dorian, Dorian, we've talked earlier about being honest and everything and how it'll make you feel a lot better. And that sounds a lot more logical than what I've just listened to. Okay, look at me. I know you're really scared and this is horrible and you didn't mean for it to happen, but I think that is always the opposite, bro. I never It's like I'm always the bad guy, man. I don't think you were the bad guy in this. Okay. I think I think Molly's the one that that pulled out the gun first. I really do. And things just went crazy, didn't they? [snorts] And I know you you're a caring individual because this is upsetting you. And I know you'll feel better once you get it off your chest, okay? Cuz you told a lot of people what happened. And I know you didn't mean for it to happen, but it did. So, you need to tell me exactly what happened from your side of the story. It's okay. We'll get through this. Okay. This has been [clears throat] a heavy load for you for six, seven months, hasn't it? It's been a heavy heavy load. I wish I could see somebody just is. It's okay. It's been weighing on you for a long time, Dorian. I know you didn't mean for anything to happen. and just [snorts] [snorts] go [snorts] Molly bed. [snorts] Molly, he was acting like Superman or anything. He ain't supposed to treat nobody like that. He was making it hard for you, wasn't he? Molly. It's okay. You just let it out. It's been weighing on you for a long time. [snorts] What the [ __ ] [snorts] What the [ __ ] Molly was making her life hard for you, wasn't he? I thought Molly was going to kill me. I know you did. I know you did. I had to protect myself. I'm sorry. But you knew there was a gun inside the apartment, didn't you? There was guns everywhere. Okay. [snorts] It was not like I planned it or nothing. I know you didn't. I know you didn't plan it. It just happened. Did Molly pull a gun out on you? Was it a 32 or do you know? He had his four five. He had his 45. And you got a 45. Sh had a 45. He had a 45. Okay. Woke or Jimmy had a 32 and the other nine. And it was it was a couple guns in there Thursday. What the [ __ ] Well, tell me about Friday afternoon. When you got there, was Molly starting to ride you again, threatening you again? Tell me what happened when you walked in the door. Lucas struggles to tell his story, but the detective is patient and carefully coaxes him to continue. I ain't going to never get out. No, I I think there's two sides to every story, Dorian. I really do. But they ain't going to never look at it like that, man. They going to just look like it. No, that's why we're here for. That's why we're here. I want to know. I want to know what you happened. You are This is hurting you. This is weighing on your heart, isn't it? It's been weighing on your heart for 8 months. [snorts] Cuz Molly was your friend. But I think you said it. You're not supposed to treat people like that. like he was treating you. I couldn't even go to the police. Nothing. I wish you would have called me cuz you know I was talking to your sister. Who? Your sister. Who's that? Tasha. [snorts] Did she try to have you come in and talk to me? But everybody's making like me like God just a monster and I'm [laughter] not. You're not a monster, Dorian. You're not a monster at all. Monsters don't get upset like you are. I ain't either. Nobody like that either. [snorts] They ain't going to show me no mercy. But Molly, he caused that bill. I swear to God, I ain't I was I didn't do nothing. I just did it to be love. My mom used to kick me out when I was younger. All I had was D [ __ ] and then I show me the most love. I was in out the system, right? [snorts] So I couldn't go to the police. They would not believe me or take me serious or nothing. Then they got killed regardless. I know you had a rough life growing up. Tasha told me that. Had a rough life. [snorts] But you need to you need to tell us what happened so I can tell your side of the story cuz I don't think you're a monster. Detective daughter I know doesn't think you're a monster, but you need to tell us what happened. Everything I told you was true besides leaving school. Well, let's go back. Kenny picks you up from school, right? And you drive over to the spot. Yeah. You ain't go to the spot yet. Okay. Where'd you go before the spot? Went to the apartment on Main Street. Okay. Then after that, we went to Maya Westwood made a couple friends. Okay. The whole time Colin Shern he he answering, but he was trying to get dude to kill me. like he he was in for for one of us to go, right? Where he can be. You were Molly, right? He kind of wanted you guys to fight it out between yourselves, right? Cuz remember the dude rock I was telling you about. Molly stole some Spanx from him. That's uh ounces of heron. He stole some of them and him and Sharon had money on his head but they also had it on my head too cuz I I mostly be with Molly. See Sharon I think he he he got all that set up cuz when we come back Shar he he he was not trying to come but I he was there though. I know he was there, but he wasn't inside the apartment, but you know, he was around. Ah, he was there. He was in the apartment. Okay. Who else was in the apartment? [snorts] Lok San Antonio. Jamie. Jimmy. Okay. Jimmy Johnson. Kenny. Kenny Adams. Molly. Okay. Sean was not his he was in front of the apartment. He came in after everything. I think I I don't know. Okay. When you go to the apartment, do you go in through like that courtyard area or do you go to the side and come up the back? I came through the front. I came through the front. Okay. That's That's it. don't got no handles on the door again, right? I come through the front. Okay. So, where the two couches are, it's not Jesus. Okay. So, you come in through that door because the back door is the one with the kitchen, right? Okay. So, what happens when you come in? You and Kenny come in through the front door. It's a strap on the couch, a strap on the table, and there was a strap by me. Well, where where I sat at, and there was one in the back room. Okay. Okay. Where did you sit at when you came in? I sat on the red couch. On the red couch. Green couch. There's no evidence to say whether or not Moore pulled a weapon first, but as long as it remains a possibility, Lucas feels as if he might be looking at lesser charges. Green couch. Okay. I sit down. Molly capping up. He's capping up drugs. He was at the table and like the where the table was. Okay. Where was Kenny at? Sitting on the other couch. Okay. Molly, I don't think he noticed me at first cuz I was behind candy. So when I sat down, I don't think he noticed me. Then he did notice me. He had to talk [ __ ] saying, "What was he saying to you? What you doing here? Do you already know what it is? I already told I already told you. When I see you, you think [ __ ] playing hit me." I just looked. He punched you. Did he come over and punch you while you were sitting down? Yeah, he was standing over top of me. Okay. He punched me. Then he keep talking. He keep talking to me while I'm still sitting down. So now I'm getting a little mad and upset. So when I tried to get up and push him, that's when it was two. It was two. It was two nines, a silver one, and a black one sitting on the couch. He he picked him up, turned around, aimed them at me. So I'm just looking at him. had one in both both hands. Mhm. Okay. Aimed them at me. Then I'm just still sitting there. Well, I'm standing up now. Then we just talking, but I'm not saying nothing. So that's how I usually do when he aim guns at me. I'm not saying nothing. So I I sit back on the couch. Now I got the the 45. Where'd you get the four five from? It was on the couch. Okay. Was it like underneath the cushions or just laying? Okay. So, I pick it up. They like, "Uh, look, go look." That mean go check the go check the things. But I don't know what type of gun. Go check what thing? The window. Look out the window. Oh, Steve bags out there. Okay. And I don't know what kind of gun that was cuz I only pulled the trigger two or three times and it was no more bullets. But everybody said it was a lot of shots but I only pulled that gun two or three times. Okay. Where were you when you first shot Molly? Were you in that back room or you Yeah, that's I'm telling you. Okay. So I go back there, but I'm holding that gun now cuz I don't know what he on. So I go look it is a remember I said it was it was another 45 but I guess it was not one in the neck or something cuz he shot me but I never [music] was bleeding or nothing but I I turn around looking he in there in the room and he picked it up and he was talking more [ __ ] and he aimed it at me clicked it probably clicked it twice he clicked it and that made me get the click in the gun I had like oh fail I'm still clicking it. But Molly fell, so I'm just still clicking it. Or I just know it scared me cuz he he aiming me like this. So I get to doing it. Then I just look at everybody like, "Oh [ __ ] the [ __ ] what what just happened?" Mhm. And they all I just everybody just was quiet just then I leave. I leave and I left the strap. I ain't get in the car. I walked up the street. Okay. Stop right there. [clears throat] I I ain't getting in the car. We've got the gun in the car. But I ain't leave. I ain't get in no car. I I walked up the street. Did Kenny come pick you up? Nah, he he we got there. That's the only last time I seen Kenny do it. Okay, baby. Okay, you're doing really good. Let's not try to save Kenny because I've already talked to Kenny. Okay, we got the guns from the car. So, don't start saving people now. Just go on with the truth. I know you and Kenny left in the car. Okay? Right. Okay. Don't try to save him cuz I've already talked to him. As soon as the detective knows Lucas is starting to lie, she jumps in to get him back on track. It's okay. He already talked to Kenny, but I don't know cuz everybody was in the house when I was at school and it seemed like it was set up for me to get killed when I when even when I walked in there. I'm just waiting to get my money from Sharon. Okay. Well, let let's go. You leave the apartment. Does anybody go with you? And I want to ask you this question. I already know the answer. Does anybody get in the car with you and Kenny? No. Okay. And you drive for a little bit, but then you stop cuz you know you're hot, right? And I It [ __ ] me up. I ain't going to lie. I know it did. Okay. I'm going to ask you another question that I know the answer to. Okay. Can you call somebody to come pick you up? Right. Calls a cousin. Molly is Molly bought it to herself, man. I ain't trying to sound like a dog or nothing to say that about Molly, but it is going to happen. Not not like Barbie, but somebody he was don't treat nobody like that. Okay. I ain't I thought I was dead. You thought you were dead. Okay, let me ask you some questions. Okay, I'm dead. Okay. This stuff that came out the house cuz I was hearing about that cuz that's why I ran them. I was I was not going to leave until when they said they ain't buy nothing in the house cuz I ain't take nothing from Molly. I love Molly. I love all that daughter. So I ain't take nothing. Molly has a lot of money on the jewelry. All I ain't take none of that. Just leave it for his mama to bury him. Right. I don't think you took anything out either. I think somebody else did that to cover it up. Okay. And we can't mark on this, but I'm going to show you. This is the apartment. Okay. These are the two c This would be the front door that you came in, right? And these would be the couches. And then this is the dining area. This would be the table. Is this right? Okay. And then back here is the bedroom. This is a reclining chair. And were these like two little other chairs or like little love seats or something? Is this all right? Yes, ma'am. Okay. So, when you came in, which What are these? These are just numbers of stuff that was there. little pieces of evidence. Which couch were you on? Were you on this one or this one? You were on this one. Were you here closer to this end or closer to this end? Right here. So, you were kind of in the middle then. And then Molly, you said, was at the dining room table cuz he was doing whatever he was doing with his hair on or crack or coke, whatever was over there. Is that right? Okay. So Molly walks over here and while you're sitting down he punches you cuz he walk over. He walk he walked over like he came over and he was standing on top of me like this but he when he arguing with me he like didn't I tell you don't come back I'm still still throwing him off like that [ __ ] dead you feel me? I went to school he still he's still mad. What is he mad over? Why is he at me? Okay. Then that's when he's cuz I'm standing like this. So he's standing like this. So you were standing by the time he punches you? No, I'm still You're still sitt I'm standing this way. Lucas moves around the room to reenact what happened, which also helps him burn off some of his nervous energy. You feel me? Cuz when you come in there, you It's the couch. You come like this. So he's saying my couch right here, but I'm putting the couch like it's right here. Okay. So I'm sitting like this looking at me. He's standing over me. That's when he hit me. Then he still talking [ __ ] talking killing [music] [ __ ] Then I finally end up getting up. Then that's when I was still facing him like this, but he picked up the two straps that was on that couch, the red couch. Mhm. That's that couch. Okay. That's that. Okay. And I'm just looking at him. Then I ain't I'm not saying nothing cuz I know he about to do it cuz he kill Alonzo. And I'm just looking at him. Then that's when local like, "But y'all need to chill out. Y'all need to chill out." Whatever it is, it ain't it ain't all that. It ain't that. And who tells you to go out and look out the window? Lo. Okay. And Marley. And Lok is Antonio Taylor. He's an older guy, right? Is [clears throat] that his real name or do you know his real name? I know him by Lo. You're known by Lo. Tone. Anton. Okay. So they tell you. And do you go to this bedroom here to look out the window or this one? First, you go to this one first. No, cuz there's a window you can look down. Okay. Then this room, it looks down that way. Okay. But when I get in here, so you go to this room first and then you come to this one. Then that's when Molly walk in with me. Well, he behind me while I'm at the window. Okay. So, you're here. I mean, kind of showing me. You would be right around here. Yeah. Cuz it's it's a window. Window. And it's a window. Okay. And I'm like I'm like came in right here. Well, this when I noticed Molly was in the room when I was right here. Okay. And that's when he uped that ratchet and he kept talking and talking talking. So he had a gun and then you picked up the 45 from out here on the I'm sorry, out here on the couch. Right. Okay. And you said that Molly shot at you first, but it didn't go off. It just clicked. Yeah, it had to. Okay. Eyes [clears throat] not pop. I I ain't get hit. That's how that's why I guess I blacked out. But I don't know cuz I know when and they clicked it. I start clicking. I thought I'm wet. I'm thinking it's over. Okay. So, as soon as he starts clicking it, then you start shooting it. And you said and this probably was a setup cuz it probably it was it was a 45 in here, man. And and it was a 45 right here. Mhm. Cuz his gun didn't click. And I'm the one that this like my couch when we sleep there. I'm sleeping on that couch and everything. Mhm. They probably had the wrong gun switched up cuz his gun didn't click. Like it didn't pop me, man. Did it go off? I don't I don't know. I just You don't know. You know, you didn't get shot, right? That's what I know. And the gun was aimed at me. Okay. But and then you shot, you said two or three times. Okay. Where was Molly at when you shot him? I in the room. Yeah, he was in the room. Okay. Where in the room? When you first come in cuz this is the doorway. When you come in, this window right here. I'm at this window. Like you said, this is the couch right here. This is a reclining chair right here. Yeah. Okay. Was he sitting in the chair? No. Was he close to the chair or was he more over here? Think because I I just want to make sure cuz this chair was turned over so I know at some point he probably sat down. Was it maybe after he was stunned from getting shot? I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I thought I was dead. I know. I'm sure that was You were scared. I I don't I don't I don't I just remember when he came in the room, he was still talking and aiming the gun like this. Just still talking. Then he get clicking it. So I start clicking it cuz I'm thinking I'm wet and I know it just clicked. I don't know that it bow. I just I I know. And but you didn't hear a a gunshot. Did you? No. You just heard the gun. I think I heard I just know you know I know he actually pulled that trigger when he aimed at me. Unlike many other gang members, Lucas does not seem to have the hardened shell that is used to cover up any type of fear. Most brag about threats and acts of violence against him and boast how they took care of the problem. This is not the first death Lucas has been involved in. But he doesn't have the stomach to stay in the business or the guts necessary to make the decision to get out. That's what made me just black out or fall. I think I fell and everything. Okay. How many times you think you pulled a trigger? And be honest because I know how many times you was shot. Like two or three times. Two or three times. I think it was more than that. But it could have been more cuz it's like he when he was shoot clicking it on me, I start clicking. Okay. Now, who left [clears throat] the room first? You were Molly. I left the whole house. Okay. Well, now there were some bullet casings out here from your gun. So, when you were leaving, did you like turn back and shoot into the room? Cuz that would kind of make sense if you were scared he was coming after you. Could you have turned around and shot him? Because the same bullet casings from the gun were out here in this little I don't want to say it's a hallway, but it's you know that little area before you go into all the bedrooms. Do you remember doing that? I just I probably I probably was still shooting when I ran out the room. Okay, but [clears throat] Okay, now this is a big question I'm going to ask you. Okay, this is the kitchen. Okay, did you did you do any shooting in this kitchen? No. Okay. Okay, I know that's a truthful answer. We didn't find any bullet casings there. Molly was shot in the ass three times. Okay. So, that means he he either was running from you and you shot at him or that's probably when I said when I when I fell in the room Mhm. when I thought I was shot and I just went down shooting and he probably moved or anything cuz I ain't getting pop. I would cuz you weren't injured at all, right? Yeah. That's how I know I ain't get popped. I saw and I was not bleeding. Mhm. Okay. What if I told you that Molly was shot about seven times? Do you think you could have done that all in that room? Honestly, you just shot and shot and shot and shot, right? Probably till the gun went empty, didn't you? I thought I was dead. Okay. Did Molly ever sit in this chair at all? Do you remember him falling over the chair? No. Okay. [clears throat] But you pretty you do you think would it be a fair statement to say you shot until the gun went empty? No. Yeah, that's not fair. It wouldn't be a fair statement. No, ma'am. Okay. It was like like you know how you got couple seconds before you die but I never trying to kill him like like what's up I'm at you for being at me and no it's just like it's just like if they when they kicked in our well if they didn't kick it in the house this morning they would kicked it in and we just let off one shot they would just got the shooting. It's just like anybody. Mhm. No, I I was not trying to kill Molly as I probably still in denial cuz it happened. But no, like I'm in denial. No, I I couldn't. That's No, Molly was trying to get me. Okay. And every time you you go to a window, I I picked up the strap cuz I was scared. And I went to look out the windows and I knew something fishy was going to happen cuz it ain't no reason they just call me like Dorian. He called me Delorean. Dorian, you said Delorean though. But locally like Dorian go check the go check it. And that's when he said it too. Like yeah Delorean take your [ __ ] ass go check the windows. And then that's when you went here and then you went here and then Molly came in here. But I don't think he know I had that gun. I put I took it off the couch. What kind of Do you know what kind of gun he had when he came in the bedroom? He had that four. He had his 45 aimed at me. He had a 45. Okay. Okay. I know it ain't going to help me in court or nothing. I'm sorry. It ain't. He was trying to kill me. I I wanted to come to the police, but I can't. These are people that's helped like taking care of me, making sure I'm cool. Mhm. I don't really got nobody or nothing. Lucas leans hard into the claim that he was in fear of his life. But that is going to be hard to convince a jury given the number of times Moore was shot. Molly, he about to he that happened. It's not I'm not trying to say it to be a dog or nothing, but He was going to kill me. Okay. And he And that's him. Was anybody else when when you ran out of the room? And I think you were still shooting inside the room. Was Kenny and Lok and Jimmy out here still or do you remember? You don't know. Okay. I just know how to get up out of here. Okay. Which door did you leave? The back door. Okay. And Kenny, obviously, because it was Kenny's car that you were in or his girlfriend's car or his car, right? Okay. Was Marcus there earlier? Maris. Yeah, Maris. And I know the answer, so be truthful. To be honest, I don't know. Maris, last time I seen him was that morning at his house. Then I went to the spot. Then I went to school. I don't even think he know I went to school. Okay. But I I can't answer that. I I don't know. Did Kenny drive? He he picked me up and No. When you left here, did Kenny drive or did you drive? I was driving. You were driving. Okay. Tell me where you put the guns. And I know where they were cuz we have them. Where in the car did you put them? I think Kenny put them in the glove department. Okay. And how many were there? Do you remember if I said there were three, would that be probably about right? Cuz one for sure was four, five, and then there were a couple other, right? Two knives. Okay. Okay. And then you guys dumped the car and then Kenny called his cousin. Is that about right? Then Raven dropped you off on this case. Can I talk in court, too? Cuz I ain't trying to go to jail from her. It was not murder. I thought I was dead, man. I swear to God. I know I lied at first coming into it cuz I'm still scared. I know you're scared. It be in my dreams. It's been bothering you. You told a ton of people cuz they always kept on saying like we did it for a hit cuz Sharon set it up. Sharon had everything to do with it. Sharon was the mastermind. They kept on saying it like we got I got paid for that when Sharon got paid for it. I ain't had nothing. I was not involved in none of that. Sharon knew everything. He was he was not even trying to stop Molly. He was going to let Molly kill me. Sharon was That was the plan. It was no way if Molly caught me, threaten me. And you calling me telling me you need me in the morning, meet you at the spot. Then when I get there, I come out to the car. Both of y'all in the car and Miley on it aiming the gun and everything and he tried to play it out. Yell at Sharon. That's why I went to school. I was scared. I ain't turn to the law cuz these people that take care of me. This very family, right? It's [snorts] good. But even though you had problems in the morning, you went to school, then you came back after a while cuz you thought maybe Molly was cooled off. Y don't y'all don't settle no cases this easy, do y'all? We What? Y'all settle cases this easy. Well, you know, sometimes things just kind of happen. I know your sister, she called me cuz she was scared for you. She said she was going to try to tell you to come in and talk to me. Lucas's family was concerned that he would be killed in retaliation. Depending on where he is placed while in jail, it might make little difference to his safety. And you talked to a couple people on the phone. Kenny's scared for you. Do you think there's anything else that I need to know? Can you tell me what you think will happen? I don't know. I'm going to talk to the prosecutors and um see what they're the ones that decide. I just get the information. I mean, you know, you're going to go to jail today. You know that. Um, but I tell you one good thing, Dorian, is um, judges like it when people tell the truth or as close to the truth as they're going to. And um, and I think you're remorseful. I think this has been bothering you for since it happened. And um, I think that's always taken into consideration. It ain't it ain't going to matter. Yes, it will. Yes, it will. Don't worry. And if there's anything else that you need to get off your chest, now's the time to do it. Yeah. Okay. We don't want to find something out, you know, down the road and then all this comes back all again. Okay. So, if there's other stuff that happened, you need to tell this detective. Other stuff like what? I mean, anything else. Have you been involved in anything else or you know something else that you need to tell me? No. Okay. We're going to leave you with your thoughts for a few minutes and you think about if there's something else you want to tell me or I need to know. Okay. We'll be back in just a few minutes. Can I ask you a question about Jason Sean? Yes. Remember when you first started you was saying something about him? Yes. Can you tell me why why he was brought up? Well, I think um I mean everybody knows that Jason was you know the guy who had all the drugs in the view and people were working for Jason. Is that true? And um I think we fought we felt that you and Molly were working somehow with Shern and I don't know how it works. I never worked drugs when I was on the street or anything. Don't know if like he was giving you drugs to sell and then you would give him part of the money or I don't know how all that works but that's kind of what I was thinking was happening. Is that kind of about Sharon would give you the drugs and you would sell and give him a cut back. Is that right? Okay. That's why I brought his name up. Can you please help me on this? Cuz I I really thought I was dead. Mhm. I know. I could have just kept lying. But it seemed like you had my back. And my sister when you bought her name up, she kept saying ask for you when if I ever did get caught for anything. try to talk to you because you're the best detective. You be all the victim's side even if they in the wrong or wrong. Right. Well, I won't feed you a line of [ __ ] right? I I'll tell you how it is. And um you know, when you when you tell the truth, I mean, as soon as I came in here, babe, you start shaking. You knew why I was here, didn't you? When I seen Miley name, you knew why I was here. And that's what you have to do. You You have to tell the truth. And that's what a judge appreciates is you being truthful. You You won me over when you asked me was it self-defense. I ain't going to lie. That's I would rather tell you the truth instead of the Q line to [ __ ] myself up. Well, the the problem with the self-defense, Dorian, is Molly was shot so many times. The detective is honest about Lucas's prospects. She feels he has been largely honest about what happened, but the number of times Moore was shot, as well as several of them being to the back, are going to damage his case. and he was shot in the butt several times, which means his back was to you at some point. You're allowed to always protect yourself, but once a threat stops, you can't continue. But you ain't know you just was doing it just just to move. All right. And and I understand I understand what you're saying. Um but I I think you shot till the gun was empty since when there wasn't any bullets left. And that's that's the issue that that's the problem. And I know you were scared and I have no doubt that um you know there there were guns in the house and Molly had a gun. Um, but you can't continue continue after the threat's over. And and the the shots in his butt are going to hurt you. To be real honest, they're going to hurt you because that means his back was to you when you shot him. And it might have been when you were leaving the room. I don't know. Yeah. When you were just shooting. So, I'm going to give you a few minutes. We're going to take a little break because I know this has been real hard for you. And I'll come back in just a few minutes. Okay. Okay. Anything else you need to tell me? Think you're good for now? Okay. What's going to happen is um they're going to book you in on that shooting from this morning, which I really don't know anything about. Okay? And then I'm going to talk to the prosecutors later on this week and tell them your side of the story and uh they'll decide what kind of charges in regards to Molly. Before you even talked to me, did you even have you ever heard the story? What can you tell me the first story you heard? Cuz I'm hard to hear, man. I just want to know. I told you the truth. Was any was anybody else trying to let you know how this Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I' I've talked to everybody who I mentioned. I've talked to Kenny, talked to Tone, talked to Jimmy. They say, you know, like I'll say how how he was trying to escort me or anything. That was like, you know, was getting into it. Yeah. They said that you guys were getting into it. That was like, you know, he was the more aggressive. like he was like the one that was bringing it to me. He said they said that they were that you guys had been arguing. They wouldn't give me all the details. Just I mean just like you you're not going to tell me anything about Kenny. You weren't going to tell me anything about Kenny. So Kenny's only telling me the least amount that he can. So, I I I think that you guys were arguing and there and I have um I believe there were guns in that apartment, you know, but like I told you, your problem is that he was shot more than just once or twice. For some reason, Lucas expects the detective to advocate for him. Beyond mentioning that he was cooperative, there is very little that she can do. you shot a lot of times and that's that's that's a big hurt. That's a problem, especially shot in the butt because that means he's turned away from you. So, but I appreciate you telling me what happened. I believe your story. I wish you would have come in, you know, back when it happened. I understand why you didn't. um it would have looked a lot better had you come in right after it happened. Um but judges like it when you tell the truth. They always like it when you tell the truth because it means you're stepping up. You know, you're you're being a man. And um and the fact that you were so emotional, it means you have a heart. You know, you're not some hardcore [ __ ] out there. You understand? So, do you have any other questions for me? Yeah. Is there somebody you'd like me to call for you? Who you want me to call? Shabri. Shabri. What's her phone number go to? What's Shabri's last name? Anderson. Anderson. What do you mean tell her? That I love her. Can't she come see me? Can she? Me ask her to put some money on your books. You can. You still got attachment number. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was going to call Tasha anyway. I will. I will. You know, Tasha only told me some stuff cuz she's worried about you. Okay. I don't want you to think she's trying to, you know, rat you out or anything. She's really worried about you. And since I know her, she felt real comfortable talking to me. And it was just a kinky dink that I ended up having the case. Okay. Okay. Well, I will call Shabri and I'll call Tasha and um like I said, right now you're you're going to be booked on your warrant, you know, from that drug old drug case. You've got a warrant for that and then um I'll talk to the prosecutors later on this week. Okay. Okay. How how could you um what would you recording me? Right. Cuz we didn't even write that. You're being recorded. Yeah. We have to by law record someone when we talk to them. Or I could just tell you I have this amazing memory. I remember everything you told me. You recorded. Okay. You take care of yourself. Okay. Okay. I'll call these women for you. Okay, brothers. Okay, you take care of yourself. Dorian Lucas was found guilty of multiple felony charges, two of them involving the death of others. His first victim, Natasha Hill, was killed when Lucas struck her car as he attempted to evade arrest. The other victim was Jamal Moore, who died from his gunshot wounds. Lucas was sentenced to 25 years in prison. At his sentencing, [music] he showed no remorse and said, "Always better them than me any day." That'll do it for today.
