This video contains the interview of a fast moving predator who was apprehended after making contact with a 13 year old decoy. Michael Meyers was a 24 year old man living at home with his parents and younger sister. He hadn’t had a girlfriend in several years, and like many lonely people, he had turned to the internet to fill the void. Many predators are cautious and they will carefully chat with their target for a while as they increasingly pushed the level of appropriate conversation. Meyers, on the other hand, became vulgar within six minutes of their initial contact. He fantasized about having her dressed like Britney Spears in her iconic schoolgirl uniform. And after some initial hesitation when he feared she might be a cop, he agreed to meet. Meyers believed he was going to the home of a girl whose parents were out of town, but in reality, he was walking right onto an episode of to catch a killer. -And you were how old? -25, 24. It’s going to be 25 on June. Okay. Now you started talking to Jess about a week ago. Yeah. Does she also go by like, you know me, whatever, something like that? Is that all? -Oh, her screen name? -Yeah, her screen name. I knew whatever, Sullivan, something like that. Like you know me, whatever, something like that? -Yeah. Right. -Okay. So we’re talking about the same one. Were you carrying on any other chats, Mike, other than with Jess or…? With my high school friend. With who? -My high school friend. -And who is that? Okay. And there’s one in your room. -Correct? -That you said it was a laptop? -Yes. -Okay. So you start talking with Jess. You know, she’s 13. You know, that’s trouble automatically. During Meyer’s initial questioning, it is revealed that he has a 16 year old sister, depending on the charges and his sentencing, Meyers may be unable to live with her again for her safety. Cerna takes a sip of water, replaces the cap, and then without a pause he removes the gun from his pants and raises it to his left temple. There is no hesitation. Well, I think you brought some condoms with you and some other things. Yeah, but I usually always carry some on me just in case. Right. Well, I doubt Michael, that you know, you came here to talk, I’m sure talking may have been an aspect of it, but you know your intentions and you and I know that were to come here and engage in sexual intercourse and other types of sexual activity with a 13 year old. When did this again, when did this start? I don’t think it started when you were, when your girlfriend were having trouble back in January. I think this has probably been a longstanding problem with you. Because this is the first time I’ve ever talked to under age girl. What about any neighborhood kids or anything like that? -Nope. -Have you ever had any no contact with them? Because I want some responses to what your thoughts were. When she tells you that she’s 13, you mentioned that you know, you’re kind of young and basically you’re jail bat, right? So you knew right off front that this was trouble. Correct. And you also stated the first time you had contact with her that you were looking for sex. You weren’t looking for conversation, you were looking for sex first and probably conversation second, right? -Yes, sir. -Okay. I think that’s probably a fair, accurate assessment of what your thoughts were. And you’re concerned about going to jail. You were also asked if she was a virgin. It comes as no surprise to find out that Meyers does not have a current girlfriend. Many predators are unable to maintain healthy relationships and often they are drawn to someone young and inexperienced. So they will be able to be the ones in control. You had a pretty good thought pattern, pretty good game plan lined out, Michael. Right. Did you have that lined out before you began talking with her? Well, from this point, you're going to be charged with these two crimes are lodged with these two crimes that I told you. You’ll be taken to the county jail here in Campbell County and processed. And at some point in time after today, you'll have an arraignment in Campbell District Court and charges will be read to you. Okay? If you cannot afford an attorney, want to be appointed for you. I was explained to you in your rights. Or if you can get an attorney, you know, you need to be making an effort to do that at some point in time. And then after that, then it's in basically... in the court's arena to determine, you know, whether you can make bail or a bond to be said or that sort of thing. Okay. The investigator isn't entirely convinced that this is Meyers's first chat with a minor. He's also skeptical about the condoms that Meyers brought with him. While it might be plausible for him to carry one, having multiple is odd. Another nail in the coffin for Meyers is when he refers to the girl as jail bait in the chat log, that is a loud and clear sign that he knew that what he was doing was wrong and could carry serious consequences. Meyers doesn't seem to notice the investigators implied surprise when Michael says he also chats with women of legal age. Meyers does admit to wanting to play out a fantasy with a decoy. And when confronted about the condoms, faintly concede that he was there for sex. And you're certain Michael, that the initiation of this chat with Jess back on the 11th was the first chat you've engaged with or this type of activity with young girls? Yes. All the other girls I've talked to are over the age of 18. Did you engage in a sexual talk with these other girls over 18 in the same manner that you talked to Jess? Some. -Did you? -Yeah. Just a couple. Now, Kim. I didn't because we planned on meeting and seeing if we could date or whatever which we did. Okay. But you never met Kim? -Yeah, I met Kim. -Okay. You met Kim? I did. So I'm trying to help you here and understand, why all of a sudden on April the 11th you get down and dirty, so to speak, with a 13 year old. And the content from the very beginning is, I want to have sex. Let's have sex. How can we accomplish that? And let me tell you what I'm going to do when we hook up. While it isn’t unheard of for someone to send such pictures with malicious intent, it is hard to believe that this is the case in this situation, especially if Meyers still has the pictures that he claims were sent more than a year ago. He is unable to sit still and constantly jiggles his foot and pops his knuckles. He can’t be sure what they will ask him next. While he waits for the paperwork to be completed. The silence allows Myers to hear a similar interrogation going on next door. For most people, that would force them to reflect on the kind of person they were and the poor choices they had made. But Meyers doesn’t seem that self-aware. [Inaudible] some paper towel or napkins or something. My nose bleeding. We’ll get you something here. Just a minute. We’re about finished. Okay. -I ask you a question? -Sure. What’s going to happen tonight? Well, you’ll be taken to the jail and booked and lodged. And after that Mike, I can’t tell you, I just don’t know whether there be a bond set where you can make a bond or whether you’ll be required to stay in jail until you’re arraigned at what date is to be determined. Meyers ends up looking perplexed and apprehensive as he is left alone. Michael Meyers was charged with possessing material depicting a sexual act by a child. After a further investigation, discovered pictures of minors downloaded to his computer as well as common searches like predators in his search history. Myers admitted to having such pictures and prior to the search, had also admitted this fact to his superior officer who ordered him to have them removed. Meyers asked his father to do so and then tried to claim that this was sent to his computer without his knowledge. This claim was disproven. Michael Meyers was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by five years of probation. He was also added to the sex offender’s registry for 20 years. Hopefully you enjoyed the video.
