Ashley MacArthur once helped solve crimes for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office in Florida now she's accused of killing a former police officer they discovered $34,000 of wri's money was placed into MacArthur's bank account she's now been charged with [Music] murder this video contains the interview of a woman whose girlfriend disappeared and was later found dead Taylor white a former police officer turned private investigator was anxiously anticipating being able to receive money that she had given to a friend to hold for her the sum was $34,000 which she needed to help pay for the legal cost of gaining custody of her son who was staying with her ex-husband Ashley MacArthur a former crime scene Tech that had worked with Wright kept putting off going to the bank to retrieve the money Cassandra Waller wri's girlfriend knew how much that money meant to write when she heard that Wright and MacArthur had decided to go horseback riding rather than go to the bank Waller was troubled when Wright did not return that night but instead sent an odd text message that sounded unlike her Waller became alarmed checking their home she saw that none of wri's personal effects were missing police were initially hesitant to begin an investigation believing it to be a case of an adult deciding that they no longer wanted contact with a partner As Time passed with no word from Wright and family members growing more concerned they realized that something was truly wrong MacArthur quickly became the number one suspect her story just didn't add up and she had made several large purchases with no way to account for the money when the police investigated a farm owned by MacArthur's family they found what they had feared the body of Wright was buried under concrete and potting soil her body wrapped in a hammock she had been shot in the head all [Music] right is that her that's her phone I I don't know that's what I was hoping that's what I was hoping to get from you um did she have an iPhone 6 oh I I have a Droid so I don't I mean a Android so I don't know the difference between all the iPhones but that looks like the phone did she have a case on it or she did she had a um a black and red zoomi case it said zoomi on it zuu m i okay um did you ever know the passcode on it she had fingerprint she had my fingerprint on it too okay um cuz this this phone was found over the weekend and it's not powering on I've had it hooked up on the charger for about two hours and it's not coming on do you know she had any broken phones or she had a broken phone but that's um that was at my house and I gave that to detective gigliotti and um they weren't able to get that on either um her phone was working I don't know where you found that phone I don't know if like it was in water mud dirt what um that looks like her phone what who had the phone account a girl name uh without a distinctive case cell phones are almost impossible to identify many people might not even know the color of a family member or friend's case oh my God what's her name can I look at my phone I have the yeah sorry I didn't mean to get emotional it's okay you weren't expecting that so Kathleen aeto it's it's uh that one right there do you have her phone number can I have it I might or I can um message her real quick yeah if you would M yeah okay she may have given it to me somewhere in here how did you find out about her um in it was like late May or early June um Taylor went it was a Memorial Day Weekend Taylor went to Destin and she was on a boat and her phone fell on the water and so after that weekend she had to go get a new phone and I went with her to Best Buy to go get it and it was so hard for her to get a phone CU she was on somebody else's account but she wasn't like an authorized user to go in and get a phone right and so that's how um I knew that she was on somebody else's account when I was able to log into her Facebook account whenever I had her laptops um I just started reaching out to people and that's how I found out about this girl um um so it looks like there's not a lot more messages here between the two of us now where does she live I think she lives in Orlando okay I want to say that there were text messages between her and I too but you got to forgive me like it's not all numbers I stored and so I got to look and find it anything you need I will give you anything that you it just may take me like a couple minutes to find it or something yeah no that's fine so that's the person who the phone was through yes okay [Music] um and what I'm thinking is maybe we can try to find out from Kathleen what the serial number is because a lot of the times if you look on your I don't know your phone company will have your phone information saved I wonder if the B box that was in my house with her old phone that got water damaged I wonder if that box has it on it I want like you know what I'm saying like if I go and I get a new phone yeah um I may not have my old box but I have my new box and I'll take that phone out and I'll put my old phone in that box that new box okay well and Jeff has it now so yeah this came from Jeff because he was going through all the stuff oh over the weekend Oh and that's why that's the broken phone then well I don't know I don't probably probably but it would be nice to at least match the stuff and just make sure we know for sure that it's not the right one but it's not turning on so I'm sure something happened to it that's the broken phone okay telling you yeah it probably is and I don't blame them for like I'm not upset for get you know like for giving you that at all it just doesn't look good on my behalf but why you say that cuz it's in my house no no it's that isn't entirely true as the passcode for her phone if someday we ever remember it she um oh it was your fingerprint she did her fingerprint and then like at the end of July she put my fingerprint on it too there were a little bit of trust issues there between her and I because I found out about another girl um and so whenever I told her like I didn't want her in my life anymore like I don't want I don't deal with infidelity and that kind of stuff that I deserve better um her and I we had a conversation and some things lined up with the girl that she was previously with and what Taylor said so I decided to give her that second chance and in Taylor trying to be forthcoming and transparent with everything she like she wasn't doing the whole turning her phone where I couldn't see her text messages she was letting me see she was typing she even put my fingerprint on her phone I didn't go through her phone cuz if I had to do that I shouldn't be with you but she was trying to show me listen like you can trust me so my fingerprint would open up the phone okay unless she changed it um but okay but I don't know of a pen or anything like that okay um sorry how long did you know Taylor since uh like the first week of April this year and how' y'all meet online tnder um that one act of infidelity aside Wright and Waller were in a fairly serious relationship that might have led to a long-term commitment y'all moved in shortly before she went missing right she moved in with me um I own my own house and um the place that she was renting up near the university on Wyatt Street I guess their lease was running out and I told T like she can move in with me um so it was I mean she was always at my house anyway um so she started moving her stuff in let's see she went missing on the 8th she started moving her stuff in the week before um because it was like my birthday weekend so now I've heard conflicting stories here and I read through your timeline so it seems to me there was some issue where you suspected some drug use is that fair to say yeah Taylor told me what kind of drugs did she use Taylor told me that she used cocaine okay three she said three times that's what she told me somebody named Chris agent who used to be Taylor's really good friend who lives in Fort Walton reached out to me at the same time that I found out about the other girl like all this stuff just completely hit me from the side at the end of July and was like yeah you know Taylor does drugs and um so I called Taylor out on that too and I told her that that was something else I didn't want in my life and um it was so that all happened on like a Sunday evening and then no Monday happened on a Monday night and then when I told her to get out my house I don't know where she went and stayed that night um and then she blew up my phone that night and the next day and said just please let me explain let me explain and I didn't respond to her and she said you know if you meet me at Ash's house at I like 5 or 5:30 she goes I'll explain everything to you at Ash at first I thought that was a little weird like why does Ash need to be there but at the same time in my mind I was thinking damn right like somebody else who's your friend is going to know what what stupid stuff you do and if she's a good friend then somebody else knows and will help hold you accountable for not cheating or not doing drugs so I went over to Ashley's house Taylor was already there Ashley wasn't there I said this was the end of July and um gig leot and I he named it honesty night cuz that's when she came clean with everything and I learned about the girl Ginger and buuy and at the same time that's when um I said okay let's talk about the drugs and Taylor paused and then she said I've I've done cocaine three times and I said [ __ ] like that was like the first word out of my mouth like [ __ ] nobody does something like that three times I mean not like I know but I mean just three times really right and she goes I swear to God she goes I don't have an addiction I don't have a problem with it um you can test me anytime any whenever you want I'll even buy all the kits randomly you could test me every day you could test me once a week you could test me 6 months from now you can test me whenever you want she goes I swear to God it's not a problem I just did it just because like I was just out with people and having fun and other acquaintances of right say that she had a long history of Youth so she was most likely lying to Waller in an effort to maintain the relationship so that was it I told her I said I don't I don't tolerate drugs I don't um and uh that was that so like the night that Taylor went missing I had told Ash that I was running to the store to go and get granola bars I didn't go get granola bars I went to CVS to go get a drug test kit cuz at that point in time I'm reliving everything that happened about a month before is she out cheating on me is there somebody else like is she it's okay we know it's not true now I mean we know that that's not true and you don't have to feel bad for thinking that I mean what else were you supposed to think so I went to CVS to go buy a drug kit cuz if she came home I wanted to test her but I didn't want Ashley to know because I didn't know if Ashley was doing drugs with her anything like that I just my Flags went up with me with a lot of things and I just does that answer your question or did I even answer the question yeah yeah what so Taylor all I know is Taylor doing drugs three times from what she told me I've never seen her do drugs um there were a couple odd things that I thought like there were two nights in the five months that we were together where she didn't sleep she stayed up all night she didn't eat much but I don't eat much either um and um like when we went to New Orleans the first time it was like the second week of June she was up at night when nose bleeds but she said it was like allergies so I mean I've never seen her do drugs and I don't know the symptoms of drugs I mean like I grew up in an area where drugs was very prevalent but I never did it and it's not something that I cared to know about and whatnot so all I know of Taylor and drugs is Taylor telling me at the end of July on honesty night that she did it three times that it's not a problem that I can test her whenever I want which I never did until I went and got one that night that she went missing and then and the friend telling me which the friend is fickle I mean she's hot and cold all the damn time um when when Taylor did go missing um I did go through like the some of the stuff that she had in in my third bedroom and I did find a dollar bill that was rolled up really really tight and um I went and got a toothpick and I scraped the bottom of it it was like white substance my stupid but I like put it to my tongue like to see like not like I would know what the hell it tastes like but um it tasted like like if Ajax or comment had a taste like that's what it tasted like so just in being forthcoming like you I'm telling you everything that would make me think that Taylor did drugs was there any kind of irrational behavior that she would exhibit did she ever sound incoherent or um you know there were some times where I would say that possibly um like the first three or four months but I'm getting to know her and figure her out but after that night at the end of July she was like perfect I mean focused driven organized coherent able to articulate her thoughts um so from that point on like what five weeks four and a half weeks I didn't notice anything um but it wouldn't say she was erratic or take that back when we would go to New Orleans the two times she was pretty spontaneous like she I'm not gonna say wild like flipping up your shirt and stuff like that she would um she was just all about having fun just doing things that I wouldn't do um like like uh the first time that we went there we met two guys randomly who were in town for a petroleum concert conference and um like we made a bet with them whoever could go out on Bourbon Street and the guy had to get some other guy's Blazer put on and the girl had to get a girl's pair of heels put on and whoever won the losing team had to go s karaoke at the cats meow um my team lost I had to sing color me bad that was horrible but she brought out another side of me like that cuz I'm pretty reserved um so but I just thought that that was being in New Orleans and having a drinker or two I didn't chalk that up for anything else but as I look back at things now I do kind of raise an eyebrow to some stuff wer may not have known right as well as she thought she did Wright was good at keeping secrets and the withdrawal of her money from the joint account against court order shows that she wasn't above breaking the rules when it was to her benefit um the day that she went missing I know she was trying to get money back from Ashley do you know how much money Ashley supposedly had in her safe deposit box which we know is not true anymore matter of fact it's the first time I heard it I've been asking detective gigliotti if there was a safety deposit box and he wouldn't tell me so um that's news to me um Thursday night so the night before Taylor went missing she told me that Ashley was holding on the sum of her money Taylor never told me the amount Ashley told me the amount okay what did Ashley tell you Ashley told me two different things the first time Ashley told me it was $30,000 in cash and then a cashier's check for 12,000 and a cashier's check for $18,000 and the second time she told me oh a couple cashier checks and it was 20,000 I think I may have that in text somewhere um for me okay um Wright had withdrawn on $100,000 out of the joint bank account she shared with her ex-husband she split up that amount between several friends for them to hold for her yeah uh Friday night which I think is the night that Ashley swung by my house late like it was like 9915 or something like that um Taylor had told me once that she loaned Ashley $80,000 loaned her and the story the story behind it and I thought the craziest thing uh Taylor said that with when Ashley's house Ashley's Warehouse caught on fire that in order for Ashley to get the insurance check Ashley had to pay off the lean on the warehouse so T and this is Taylor's story okay Taylor said that she loaned Ashley money to help out with that cost and then she said that Ashley had paid her back that night on Friday night when Ashley came over I said Ash can I ask you something and and um I said taleb says she loaned you $80,000 and I explained to you her what I just said to you like you had to pay off your your lean or something like that and Ashley goes no absolutely not she's loaned me $6,000 before um to help out with her mom or something like that um but and she didn't she didn't say if she had paid it back or not so that's all I have from Taylor I don't have how much money was put in said un said safety deposits all right um yeah and gig leotti may be withholding information just because I gigot that gigliotti didn't know that piece of information cuz like things have been coming back to me and things that may not have seemed relevant to me at the time whenever he was asking me questions or if he didn't ask me a question pertaining to that or I didn't think it was important like um so I I don't even think gigliotti knows of that okay yeah that's the first that I've heard of that so and we know that you're going to go back now and think of all these little things that maybe didn't seem relevant or important then and now you're going to see oh that's strange now that you know yeah like the night before Taylor went Miss when her and I went out to eat dinner at Twin Peaks that's whenever Taylor was telling me all about um Ashley having that was the first time I heard of it I didn't know like I found out through the freaking media that that that check was put into Ashley's account in the middle of our I didn't even know like I'm it's just hard reading certain things um anyway um if it makes you feel better Taylor didn't know either so she didn't know yes I read the um I saw the search ones and I saw the check signature that's not Taylor's signature it's not Taylor I have an entire letter that Taylor wrote me that's in all capitals she writes in all capitals and and that that thing said Southern it was like capital letters and lower like I could I looked at it and immediately could tell that was hers right anyway it's irrelevant to me um but the night before when Taylor and I were out at Twin Peaks eating dinner um and she's telling me about all this stuff which do you know about like the things that Taylor said that made her feel like Ashley didn't have her money uh yeah something about she called and they don't even have well that's one of them deposit off she said that she'd been trying to ask Ashley for like a week prior to take her and she kept making excuses and then on Wednesday when she finally got her she went in the wrong direction and Taylor's terrible at directions MTH kept putting right off about returning the money most likely buying time so she could solidify her plans on how to dispose of right and then when they got to the bank the bank was closed and then that day that she called she called the bank and they said that they hadn't had it and then she asked Ashley and Ashley said her friend runs the bank and held on to the box right like by the time we got to about 3: and 4 that's when I started feeling sick in my stomach but I was trying to calm Taylor down anyway Ashley showed up to dinner that night she showed up she didn't eat anything she didn't drink anything she was only there for like 20 minutes and then she walked out with us but as we're walking out she's like yeah we got Alabama season football tickets and like we all should go to a game and I'm sitting I hate Alabama football so I was like oh well I'll just wear whatever team that they're playing you know that weekend so I can piss everybody off around me um but it just it makes me sick to my stomach to know like this person well why did she show up at dinner that's a great question I want to the bathroom twice and I don't know what kind of conversation was had while I went to the bathroom but while I was there um in a in Ashley's presence they mainly talked about Zach like anytime that it was the three of us together it always seemed like the conversation between the two of them was always about Zach like Zach's lazy Zach doesn't want to take cases Zach where is he oh he's up at the hunting camp and blah blah blah Zach is MacArthur's husband who worked as a private investigator he had no knowledge of his wife's plan to commit murder so that's mainly what they talked about Taylor kept trying to help Zach by giving him cases and he never wanted to take the cases and uh I mean the rest is just assumptions on my behalf um I only met Zach once for like 15 or 20 minutes and that was like back in I don't know June well how did Ashley and Taylor end up becoming friends like that so here I mean all Taylor told me was that Taylor used to date a girl who works here named Jess wood and Jess and Zach I think Taylor told me were friends and that's how Taylor met Zach and then um Zach being married to Ash that's how Taylor met Ash and they ended up having a better friendship than her and Zach does that make sense yeah I yeah no I got I got it okay I mean were they friends where they would talk and text every day or I never really saw them talk and text I never saw them interact um it was just that one time like in June we went Taylor and I we went over to Zach and Ashley's house I don't even remember what it was for we only there for like 15 or 20 minutes and Zach and Taylor were talking about Greg Grover versus Greg sver and how they like their reports typed up and commas and punctuation and you know certain things like that didn't care too much for the guy um at the time but other than that I never saw the two of them never heard the two of them interact at all I know and I don't know if you know about this but when Taylor and I went to um New Orleans in the middle of August and this is this is according to Ashley um it was there was supposed to be four of us and then it ended up just being Taylor and I going on Friday night cuz one of the girls um mother passed away and so she she decided she wasn't going to go and then Ashley said that she was just going to wait till Saturday and convince the girl to come just for the night to go and get her mind off of things so Taylor and I went on Friday night Ash and the other girl named Audrey was supposed to show up Saturday uh morning like 10 11 they never did and um Ash didn't end up getting into New Orleans until like 11: 11:30 at night but they ended up going straight to the hospital cuz Audrey had like a gall stone or some something like that blocking she end up having surgery in New Orleans um but Ashley said the reason why it took her so long to get there was because Zach stoed her and followed her there and pulled her off the road and they fought for hours not like physically fought but arguing and Taylor and I we kept blowing up Ashley's phone like we even went out to dinner we ordered Ashley something Ashley never showed up she kept saying I can't get zct to leave me alone MacArthur's husband said that she had begun to act secretive and hostile but he did not understand what he had done to make her upset he didn't realize it was from the stress of planning a murder so h did you ever end up meeting that Audrey girl mhm have you ever seen her since then um since the new Orland trip MH um yes she came to my surprise birthday brunch that Taylor put together I didn't know she was coming Audrey's not my friend Ashley's not my friend right these are people that I know because of Taylor um I was actually first off I didn't know Taylor put together a birthday brunch for me but I was a little surprised that Ashley and Audrey were there because quite honestly like I don't know Audrey I only met Audrey basically once in the hospital twice take that back honesty night um Audrey and Ash were running errands and when Ash pulled up Audrey was with her and Audrey came in the house and grabbed her keys and left so like I didn't meet her really um and then the New Orleans incident whenever she got there late at night and Taylor and I went to the hospital because she had been admitted do you know what kind of car Audrey drives mhm a yellow Nissan Pathfinder at least that's what I've seen her in okay I think it's a wait it might be an extera okay it's yellow I know that gotcha now are Audrey and Ashley really good friends do you have any clue um I think they are and the reason want to say that is cuz um um Audrey said or not Audrey Ash said that Audrey had like a really rough upbringing she doesn't have close family Audrey would do a little bit of work for ash so she just kind of looks out for her okay um keep in mind like I've only been around Ash like prior to Taylor missing I had only been around Ash one two three four four times and then after she went missing there was the night she came over the Taylor went missing which I'm pretty I'm pretty sure I'm about 90% sure so there's a little bit of uncertainty there um and then the Monday when she brought me the gun and then the Friday whenever I took the gun back to her so what we're talking like seven times okay now that gun I definitely want to know about that gun what kind of gun was it do you know it was a revolver it looked really really old Wright was shot but not by that particular gun it was Heavy had a long barrel um had a wooden handle did I say it had a hammer already you may have okay Had A Hammer um it had something written in really nice calligraphy on the barrel um I'm not real familiar with guns but I could have sworn she told me that night that it was a 38 cuz she asked me she's like have you ever shot a gun before and I said yeah but it's been like 15 20 years um actually would have been Al about 15 years I was in Idaho whenever I shot a gun um but she said well this this should this shouldn't have too much kick because like I said I want to say she said it was a 38 but she said it was Savanah she said it belonged to her daughter and it came in like a really nice thick leather uh case um other than that that's so she brought it to you you kept it for a few days until you got your gun mhm she brought it to me Monday night which is September 11th and the crazy thing looking I look back at this and recognized this last week she um the time frame between when I asked and when she brought it was ours um at 5:54 actually at 5:52 I said have an extra gun I can sleep with LOL and she brought it to me around 8:45 so why did it take her almost 3 hours to bring me that gun I mean not like I really I wasn't like antsy waiting for it but I mean I was tired and didn't want to stay up and stuff but um I had my roommate and his boyfriend there whenever she came into my kitchen and she gave it to me um and then I showed it to them cuz again I'm embarrassed to say some of these things but I'm going to say it anyway um I I thought it was kind of cool thought it looked like old like something out of a western movie so I was like oh guys look like this is kind of cool um and my roommate was like I don't want to touch that and then his boyfriend was like oh let me see you know cuz he thought it was kind of cool too um and then you gave it back to her that Friday Friday yeah I went and I bought a gun on Tuesday mhm and I had to wait three days and then um on Friday at um at 4:48 I said I have my gun where can I bring yours I said I'm leaving town in 15 cuz I was going to go home to Freeport to see my family CU I was just having a hard time okay and so I went to her house and gave her her gun back all right so that day let's let's go back to the day that you last Saw Taylor which would have been the eth was a Friday she was going to try and get her money back right mhm okay and they had plans to go I guess to the bank did you know what b um I just know so Taylor was so bad at directions she would reference areas um based on like cases that she worked and um I'm just kind of piecing together uh information that Taylor gave me when Taylor told me the night before that Ash was taking her to the bank and she could tell she was going the wrong way a Taylor said that she was um um heading towards a case that she worked over near Champions o on softly Field Road like that bellw area and knowing that it was all Wells Fargo stuff like I want to say it was like Wells Fargo but I'm not 100% sure Waller did not have all the details about right's finances but it was enough to raise some red flags that made her think there was the potential for something to go wrong there was no documentation to prove that she had not given the money to MacArthur as a gift and it would be difficult to prove especially since Wright was not supposed to have taken that money in the first place all right so that's really all I know I I keep in mind like I was only with Taylor like for 5 months and even though she moved into my house like the week prior I mean I didn't dive too much into that kind of like it's kind of like your business um not going to tell you what to do with your money or whatnot um I my my previous relationship ended cuz I tried to say too much what to do so I tried to back off of that with this relationship right um but Ashley came and picked her up yeah and she was in what kind of car black four-door Jeep okay yep and you were standing outside so you saw her actually pull up yeah Taylor and I we were literally walking out to my car and we stopped in the carport and we talked about having wings for dinner that night that I was going to go sort out t-shirts for this water safety event that I had the next week and then after that I was going to go to the grocery store and um then I was going to come home and I was going to paint my master bedroom and we hugged and we kissed and as I started walking out to my car Ashley pulled up and she pulled up at the end of the street and I was like hey Ash and she goes hey Cass and I was like I'll have a good one like see you later and she goes all right literally got my car and I left so I left the house before they did okay but Taylor was all ready to go and everything so I don't foresee um her having to do anything dabble anything but I don't know now whenever Taylor and I know you said that you didn't see her leave but whenever you saw her outside did she have any bags with her or anything okay right left her car behind and all of her personal belongings which is contrary to the initial Assumption of the police that she intended to leave Waller of her own accord do you know if Taylor had a gun with her when she left the house yes no I don't because I left the house first but before you left did she have her [Music] gun how do I answer that I don't like Taylor would keep a gun in her backpack but then she' also keep guns in her car so I don't know if she had one in her backpack at that time it was in the back bedroom and and if you don't know that's fine I was just asking if you knew if she had a gun that's can you clarify like are you talking about like on her yeah on her or in a bag or a purse I don't know I guarantee you she had one somewhere on my property okay I mean the even though she went missing you know you could walk up to her car and you could put your hands over the window and you could see a gun sitting on each side of the the seat so I mean I only knew her me personally only having two guns everybody else says that she has like a plethora of guns I've only ever seen two do you know anything about those guns do you know what they are I can show you a picture okay because whenever I went through her house I mean her house her car Ashley was there with me um I told Ashley to take the weapons cuz I didn't want them in my house don't know anything to do with them the detective is trying to determine if any of Wright's guns would match the murder weapon but none of them did and so I asked Ashley to take a picture because I'm overly precautious in things so there's the that one that's just a picture of the guns and the knives and I was like can you take it out so you could take a picture of the serial number cuz I don't want to be accused of anything so she did that's as will you send those to me yes ma'am so now you were there when that happened so you actually saw her take the pictures of the guns and everything mhm okay and those would have been on you said either side of her center console M okay you can see them sticking out and while I'm thinking about it did Taylor have a Sam's account that you knew of um mhm she did you know if she owed a bunch of money on it if she owed a bunch of money um I took a picture of one of the accounts I have this right here that said that um you can see down towards the end it says that she made a $112,000 payment to Sam's Club and then she made a $3,000 payment something else uh some other credit card but um and this picture was that paperwork that she had there at the house no that was on her laptop I was able to log into her Navy Federal account can you so when she went missing um I was just trying to log into anything to see if like she was you know using her cards I was just trying to find her okay yeah I don't know if I have that or not will you just send it to me cuz there's a lot of stuff that this has and I don't know if I have it or not um and then I have this picture too um this one yeah will you send me that also I'm sure somewhere we have all of that I just want to make sure so Ashley took those guns presumably to her house and you never seen them again never saw them again okay did she say what she did with them she said she put them in her gun safe okay see this is all Taylor's writing that's I mean all capital letters that's how she wrote do you still have that letter yes okay just hang on to it in case we might need it sure um do you know if there was ever an incident where Taylor tasted a beer and it tasted funny did she ever tell you anything about that okay um do you know if she was ever alone with Ashley before this before she went missing where maybe they were out drinking or at a restaurant or something and maybe she were to be here I'm trying to understand your question like you talk about that day or anytime before anytime before say leading up in I don't know maybe two weeks prior to her disappearance did Taylor ever say anything about a drink tasting funny nothing's coming to my mind and do you know if Taylor and Ash went to a bar together that day anytime within say two or 3 weeks leading up to her disappearing such information can be difficult to recall because it is the type of thing that seems completely unimportant at the time one may not be able to remember at all and sometimes a person believes something happened just because it was suggested you said two to three weeks yeah maybe just roughly well New Orleans so if she that's one week it's two weeks three I mean we would have been in New Orleans but we didn't go to we didn't go any any bars with Ash my birthday weekend uh there was a bunch of osas um but just you're you're referring just to um Ash and Taylor Maybe Just Ash and Taylor you know maybe a small group where you guys would have been together and she might have been drinking a a beer Ash told me that that day she was drinking that Taylor was drinking that day um which is odd cuz Taylor wouldn't like she wouldn't start so damn early she wouldn't and what would she drink what would she drink normally Taylor likes um like mixed drinks like uh Margaritas or Red Bull vodka um if she drinks beer she's going to drink Shock Top um sometimes when she's out she'll order Stella um but that's primarily what she sticks to but anything like I bought and put in the fridge she would have like if I had Red's Apple she would drink that or um but she did have her go- which were the ones that I already mentioned to you okay would she get anything say like a Bud Light or Bud wise or something you could buy at a gas station would Taylor get that yeah would she if it was all it was available I don't know I mean she'd have to be pretty desperate because Taylor's drink a choice like on a day like that she went missing would be power a zero hands down every time like that's like when Ash told me that she was drinking that day it just that didn't add it I mean there's so many things like everybody gave up on Taylor and said oh maybe Taylor's just off doing this and like there was so many things that told me she did it yeah um she wouldn't have been drinking early in the day I mean not unless it was like coed or somebody was like let's have a beer or something like that but Taylor wouldn't have I mean keep in mind I'm only going off of like the five months that I've been around Taylor but she wasn't that person who would wake up and start in the morning or even before noon and start drinking she just W mhm and then and then even when even when she would drink like Taylor was always the one taking care of other people she never got slaugh well I know that day you last heard from her say around 11:20 and she said that she would tell you what had gone on when she got home so explain later yeah Waller didn't get the text until later that night and it immediately made her nervous since it was not phrased as Wright would typically speak did you ever find out any details about what happened okay so in your conversations with all of her friends nobody had heard from her and heard anything okay um I know that Ash kept conversing with you after you felt like something was wrong um well like the I mean I knew something was wrong but there was part of me me that thought okay like for like the first two days maybe 3 days I felt like maybe she did you know go on her own I was so messed up I was like an emotional roller coaster I got angry with her mhm you'll see all that with the text oh yeah I saw and it's totally understandable you know what were you supposed to think um now I know that there was a text supposedly that Taylor sent to her son Drake do you still have that screenshot send it to you yeah yeah Jeff sent it to me yeah he said he was going to send it to me but just in case he lost it or something I want to have it I have like the call log that night between them and then I have the text so you want both yeah just send them both um there's a screenshot also that supposedly Taylor sent to Ashley do you remember seeing that one I have I haven't got rid of anything okay now you know how Taylor would respond in a text message the one that you saw that screenshot that she sent Ash did that sound like something that Taylor would say what was different about it can you maybe she said she need to get her life organized and back on track Taylor didn't feel like her life was unorganized she didn't have to get anything back on track the only thing that she had to do was give her money to the ex that the judge ordered her to do and she was coming to her senses on that because I kept pushing her and telling her just give him the damn money like a judge told you to do that you know like it sucks nobody wants to come up off of 30,000 cash but you have the money we're financially fine you know so give them the money and I think that's why she was going to get it cuz she was at that final deadline dat which is why she lied about the continuance which I found about after she went missing Wright's main concern was getting custody of her son which was her main reason for withdrawing the money from the joint account she needed it for legal fees and that desperation fueled her insistence that MacArthur Returns the money um but um the whole need to get my life organized and and furthermore like going to have a drink by herself she knew I was off Friday Saturday Sunday Monday she would it like Ashley lives like two miles down the road for me it just none of it added up none of it made sense but like as for looking for grammatical errors and things like that I didn't notice anything too much yeah I was thinking maybe I don't know just the way she wrote it everybody's got their Style and then and then the one the Ashley sent the I need a few days the move has me stressed Taylor wasn't stressed out about the move she was excited okay so here comes the screenshot of what um uh Ash sent me okay and then did you need the last text that Taylor supposedly sent me did you say you needed that one uh no I think we have we have all that because you gave your phone yeah to them four and a half days try working for four and a half days without a phone yeah that was the one you wanted right the one that yes okay that one now how did Taylor communicate with her son she would talk on the phone they wouldn't text really much Drake's got his own phone number is that right yes I really didn't know much about that okay but they would talk they would talk almost around the same time frame every night um like it was usually between 600 and 7:00 600 and 7:30 they would talk for anywhere from 15 20 minutes all the way up to 40 45 minutes they were talking like every night for that that month since honesty night like Taylor when I like she had a wakeup call when I was done with her and wanted nothing to do with that that that stuff um I mean I think that she realized like I don't know what she realized but um she just she just became the person that that I really I mean I cared about her already but she became an even better person so uh that texting back and forth between Drake thing that would be a question more for Jeff Cuz I don't honestly know okay and I know more of them talking on the phone do you know if Drake was ever down here and he might have stayed with Ash at some time what there's only one time that I know of Taylor had to work a case I had something going on with work either I was it was either just work or I had a meeting or something and Drake couldn't be with me and so she had Ash watch him and Ash said that she had to have Audrey or somebody I don't know if she said Audrey she said she had to have somebody come with her because Ash for her job I guess has to go into bars and stuff and she couldn't be taking Drake in so she had to have somebody else ride with her just to stay in the car with Drake okay but only one time that Ash watched Drake that I know of that I know of okay it would have been more of a surprise if Drake had been left with MacArthur more often since she and Wright had a more casual relationship ship um I'm trying to think of anything I have a lot of Facebook Messenger um messages between Ash and I I probably should screenshot those and give you those cuz Ash is like leading me on I wish Taylor wouldn't do this wish she just come back she needs help like maybe she is in rehab and blah blah blah um another thing that I told the detective um I had a button- down shirt did he tell you about this mm I don't know what all you guys have taken but I reached out to Ash this was maybe maybe two weeks ago um I like wash them my own clothes and ironing them Taylor is all about like she'll do laundry but if it needs to be pressed she takes it to a dry cleaner Taylor was doing laundry one day and she came across like I think it was just one but it may have been two of my button downs and um she was like I'm going to take it to the dry cleaner for you well Taylor never took it to the dry cleaner she end up giving it to Ash to take to the dry cleaner and um so I this was like three and a half weeks or so ago I went to go grab a pair of pants that I normally wear my that certain button down with it's a it's a white button down with blue pen Stripes like really close together and um I didn't have the shirt and I was like oh crap you know like it got taken to the dry cleaner and I remember Ash saying when when Taylor told me that Ash took it and Ash was there at that time we're talking like a month and a half two months ago actually no take that back not a month and a half two months ago like month and a half two months before Taylor went missing is what I'm trying to say um she's like yeah I took it to that dry cleaner you know across from Barnes on 9th Avenue and I like I never knew there was a dry cleaner down there she goes yeah she goes you know if you're not for if you don't know it's there you go right on basted so I went to that dyed cleaner to go and see if my shirt was there it had never been brought in there they said that Taylor wasn't on record there and they said that the last time that Ash had brought in any clothes was back in February so I reached out to Ash and I was like Hey swung by to go get my shirt and they said that they didn't have it there that nothing had been brought in there for brought there for a while and she goes oh she goes I have to reach out to my aunt I had my aunt take it yeah so here I am should this why you do your own laundry you CL crap I gave it to Taylor right I didn't give it to Taylor Taylor was doing laundry Taylor was going to take it to the dry cleaner Taylor didn't take it to the dry cleaner she gave it to Ash to take the dry cleaner Ash said that she took it to the dry cleaner she told me which one she took it to but whenever I went to go get it it was never there when I contacted Ash back Ash said that she had her aunt take it she needs to reach out to her aunt and find out where it was Ash never replied back to me never told me where my shirt was but I'm freaking out now where's my damn I don't care about the shirt but um in this situation I don't want my you know out where people people's bodies and well let me ask you this are you missing a jacket that has a lobster on it and something that says M uhuh did you know Taylor to have anything like that okay um I haven't come across it but at least now I know but I mean we would have just oh man that comes up in my head like I've been calling giggly I'm like oh my God this could be nothing but I'm just letting you know cuz I'm paranoid I just I have nothing to do with this but none of Waller's clothing was found with Wright's body heaven for bid something is in the wrong spot that come like the phone I mean yeah now what did she use as a tablet deal yeah well she really like didn't use a tablet she had an iPad but it was for Drake and it was in one of those really um uh um like if you drop it like a protective case it was in something like that but she didn't use it that much I matter of fact I had never seen her use it I saw Drake playing with it all the time all summer she always used her two laptops okay and the iPad is was that something that you had put in the store storage warehouse whenever you clean all of her stuff out I I think it was either one of two places it either was in one of the bags that did get put in the warehouse or it was in Taylor's car okay I can't tell you where every oddend thing was I typed up a pretty detailed inventory yeah I've seen that but I mean I didn't open up boxes and go through and be like Oh blah blah blah blah blah blah it would have taken way too long she had just stuff and the two laptops remember what brand they were one was a dell and I want to say the other one was a Samsung yeah I think that's pretty much everything that I was going to ask you about and obviously if I've got more questions I'll just call you now detective gigliotti um told me that another phone was found before this one cuz he called me and he asked me about a phone it was um Friday after her body was found he asked me if I could describe her phone back then there may have been hang [Music] on hello yeah um I'm in an interview can I call you back okay all right there may have been a phone that he found somewhere along the way um like I said since they're working part of the case and we're working part of the case it's just been kind of hard trying to figure out what everybody has and where it came from so I personally haven't gone through and reviewed everything yet because I've been busy talking to people and doing other stuff um you know Ash said that she left with two back packs which we know she didn't leave with you know one of those backpacks was in my third bedroom and the other bag was in her car right and she told you different descriptions I have it right here I highlighted it even in red the day that she told me she had her Brown backpacks and then when she turned around and she changed it and said it was a brown one and a gray One MH so I don't know listen I work like 3 minutes away I will come anytime you need okay I will answer any texts or phone calls like Detective kept saying I'm sorry for bothering you don't ever apologize like I want to help you guys out as much as possible Waller was cooperative with the police giving them access to everything they needed as well as racking her mind for anything that may have helped lead them to right once the suspicion was turned toward MacArthur everything they found backed up Waller's belief that something had gone wrong yeah no I mean things are going to come up cuz we're going to find out stuff and you know we just whenever we find stuff out out we'll check on you and see what you know about it you know it's just kind of one of those things where can I ask you a question you may not be able to answer it or not but when you send me those text picture those pictures mhm why does one of them look like a bomb I don't know what a bomb looks like but I'm guessing if yeah it looks a little odd um from the way that it was described to me it's something that you step on and it will take the picture it's why up so that you can put it down in your floor board or something and you can step on it huh to take a picture like so it's not a bomb it's not a bomb okay sorry that messed me up mentally in my head when I saw that what the hell no it's not a bomb okay you know why everything was put at Ashley's Warehouse right yeah you were trying to sell your house and you needed to get everything and well I was also frustrated too but and Taylor didn't have like a lot of things in my third bedroom but she did have you know like there were boxes stacked up I mean it took me maybe an hour if even that to put things in that truck cuz almost everything was still in that truck um but initially Jeff and I were going to get a storage unit and then Jeff said that he didn't want to put his hands on it unless a judge ordered him to which I get and then I started working with Nancy which is Taylor's foster mom and Nancy not really in a financial position to be able to do that and I was communicating this to Ash and um I can't remember if I asked to put it at Ash's or if Ash said well you could just put it at my place um and then I told her that I would pay her 50 bucks a month and she's like oh you don't have to pay me anything um and that's why I went I put it there figured if Taylor came back and they were such good friends like they can deal with it so I wasn't I mean I feel regretful that I did that but I was planning on selling my house um I still am but everything is just kind of taking a curve so I'm probably not going to put it on Mark until late January now now I understand James helped you move all of this stuff and was there anything odd about him that you noticed when he was helping no I mean yeah it just seems like an odd quirky kind of guy but he was really kind to me I mean he kept saying like he tried to tell me sometimes about some of his stories and stuff and how he's been through a whole heck of a lot and I text Ash and I said you know he's a kind guy like he helped me out and um I was going to buy him dinner for helping me unload the truck and he just said that he just wanted some money so he could put gas in his car and I thought that that was like first I thought it was weird that the guy lives in that place that broke my heart um so I went and I gave him money for gas and food and I took come to the gas station so you could actually get gas but I don't try and judge people like um he has a story clearly but I didn't think anything too weird with the exception of he's there working he Rough Around the Edges to put it nicely um but he was kind to me okay do you know if Taylor had ever met him mhm because he he Taylor had a big old safe uh redhe head I think it's called or red something safe um at the place that she was living out on Wyatt Street and that sucker's heavy so he came and helped her move that into the truck um and then he drove Taylor was in her car he drove the box truck to my house and so it was him in the Box Truck Taylor Taylor was either in her car or she was in Ash's Jeep and they all pulled up and James basically parked the box truck at the house my house and then he got in the car and left with Ash um so as far as I'm concerned he just helped her with moving stuffff I don't know if they've interacted before then okay so all right um I think that's all I've got going ask you I ask giggly do I have any reason to be afraid of Zach MacArthur right now cuz I am afraid I'm sleeping with a gun by my bed at night and I don't like living like this Zach MacArthur was not involved although as with little information as Waller had it was reasonable to fear that he might be dangerous I like gigliotti kept telling me you don't have to worry about Ash like what does she have to gain and although it made sense it doesn't make sense if that makes any sense and like I'm I just I'm afraid I don't have an alarm on my house I don't think that you have to worry about him we've spoken to Zach and yeah I I don't want to put you in a position I just I I think you're going to be okay I don't think you need to worry about him obviously you know my advice to anybody is always going to be never let your guard down but as far as him being a problem for you there would be no reason for anybody to want to try to hurt you it's not like you are a witness to I didn't see anything happen but I mean I feel like I know so I I I just I don't know I've never been put in any situation remotely like this before I mean I don't know Ashley's family and what they think of me and my involvement in this or what I know and don't know I think that they don't even you're not even on their radar you're just not okay you know I mean I have a roommate too he's afraid he's like do I need to like go stay somewhere else I mean okay no I don't think you're in any kind of danger um you know I think you're going be all right so next Thursday my understanding is when a hearing is for Ashley how do I find out if that's open and if I can go to that is there somebody I should call and ask I don't know anything about a hearing she might be having a bond hearing does that sound right I don't know could it could be that she's having a bond hearing I don't know any of this I'm in education I'm not in law so I haven't heard but I haven't keeping track of it and they don't usually ask us to go to the hearings um it's all on the clerk of court website have you seen that website you can you can Google a scambia county clerk of court and you go to the online records and you'll just pull her up by name and you'll be able to see when her next court date is does it say whether or not the public can come to it how do I get that information generally speaking all of the court dates are open to the public should I not go it's up to you I mean nothing really nothing is really going to happen that's interesting until the actual trial whenever that is you know all of these little things are just formal proceedings where you know they might try to modify a bond or something um you know they'll have little things here and there but it's it's not anything that you would need to be at or that you're going to find out any kind of information um will there be a point where like like how do I ask this um like Ashley has an attorney MH do I have to answer their questions like if they call me yes eventually what'll happen is they'll have what's called a deposition and you would if the attorney subpoenas you then you would have to show up for the deposition and you would have to answer the questions and usually what'll happen happen is the defense attorney will ask you all the questions and you'll answer them truthfully to the best of your knowledge and if the state attorney wants to ask you questions they'll ask you questions also um but yeah you would have okay so don't answer any questions over the phone or anything like that what you're saying okay you it would be something where you would have to go down to a court reporter's office and answer questions but it would be a formal setting you would receive a subpoena for it it would have a date and a time for where to show up and she won't be there it would just be you the attorney the court reporter and the state attorney okay um I feel like I'm not privy to certain information because I'm not the ex-husband and I'm not the father is that how this will always be because that it is what it is but it breaks my heart cuz they all gave up on her most people knew Wright dismissed her disappearance believing that she had gone away somewhere to use drugs they said don't contact me they said that she's probably out doing this stuff all on her own and it just bothers me that they're getting all this information and like for example I didn't even know until late Thursday night that the dental records proved that it was her like they KN they like Joan the aunt told me that she knew that on Wednesday actually I found out on Friday night I don't even know who Joan is Joan huskins the aunt who lives in Connecticut so it just it's hard I get it I'm just a girlfriend but just it hurts are you still in touch with Jeff yeah but he's not real quick I feel like Jeff says things and then he turns around he does something a little bit different um I mean I'm hoping that because he got to interact and meet me over the last two days that he thinks otherwise he didn't know me from the next and he can see that I'm I am a genuine kind person that's honest hopefully he gathered that um but I know he's busy with his work and everything and I don't want to always blow up his phone and say do you have any information do you have any information but he did tell me the other day whenever I told him that I'm not getting information that you guys are not you but him are getting he's like we'll make sure that you get information it just just bothers me um he and a lot of it's because you've got the two agencies PPD was working it now that it's our homicide they're not going to release information because they don't want to release information that we might be trying to keep quiet so that's why you might not be getting stuff from them and as far as me but it's being told to like Jeff and Randy and and Joan has this information like if it's being told to them how come I'm not being told yeah and I get I get the frustration but try to keep you up we'll try to keep you up to date I mean I'll answer whatever questions that I can but there's stuff that even I won't answer to them I get it giggly ATI gave me 101 detective even though Waller is not a suspect she will not have access to everything the police know part of that is to ensure that information doesn't leak and also to ensure Waller's safety oh yeah we got to keep stuff close because if it comes out somebody else that's involved if it comes out I need to know for sure that facts that I've kept quiet M if they know a fact about a case and this is just generally speaking that way I can figure out if they're telling me the truth or not right no I get it I I guess I was just referring more to you know like as the only thing I'm really frustated about was I didn't know that the dental records confirmed it was her and I had to find that out and I thought that somebody would have at least told me that yeah and and honestly I didn't find out about that until probably Thursday um but I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping in touch with her family either because I been oh you're busy with other stuff no I get it and in fact maybe you know this but I know that she has her biological family and then an adopted mom Nancy not legally adopted okay they're not legally adopted mm- it's her foster mom she took over whenever she was 13 we understanding is her father h a shotgun under her head and she went through the courts and Nancy never legally adopted her okay but Taylor I mean even the summer like the beginning of August when we went to um Tallahassee Taylor never really spoke good about her biological mom and dad she really despised them and um Nancy though which is her that foster mom who lives in Tallahasse she um I've never seen a full grown girl go and jump on her mom's lap and like curl up in a ball rest her head on her chest and like she stayed like that for an hour Nancy just rubbed her back and they just talked never saw that and there's a lot of other things that aren't right like with what's going on with I guess our ashes between the biological father and the fost and I'm staying out of it but it's just heartbreaking to see yeah it's it sounds like a real a real mess and I didn't even know about Nancy until mid last week and I make my decisions based on my interactions with people not what people say about other people and Nancy is a very kind person very kind and Taylor ad da so anyway maybe maybe they'll come to some sort of a resolution nope doubt that but appreciate the kind words hope has there been any discussion about the arrangements are you privy to any of that Randy which is her dad wants it to be Randy Jeff and Drake oh and ry's uh new wife uh Donna Donna yes thank you uh to be the only ones to go spread Taylor's ashes they don't even want me there like I'm the one who picked up the phone and called them was like she's missing and I was told they want nothing to do with it I mean there was even a nasty email when Nancy tried to reach out to them they were like leave us alone and again like this was hard like I didn't quit on her and all these other people did and no I can't be a part of that Taylor would roll over in her grave if she knew three of the four people going to spread her ashes were people that she didn't like Jeff Donna and Randy so Joan her aunt up in Connecticut yesterday they did a a little um they're Jewish so they did like a little nonreligious kind of ceremony up there at Jones house and uh not this Saturday but next Saturday I'm putting together a celebration of life which I think is like the big the more formal one that everybody's going to come to people are coming from all over the country um now that I've sat down a date we're just going to have drinks and food and music and wer is trying to come to terms with Wright's death a difficult process made even more difficult while she still has to wonder what happened do it how Taylor would want it mhm Taylor wasn't religious she uh she wouldn't want any everybody she went when everybody said she'd want a party so that's what we're doing want a party you just have to do what you know she would want that's all you can do you know I think right to stay out of the family drama because that's all it is about it yeah well I will try to keep you in the loop as best I can listen the gun like I don't know how you guys go about all that stuff but if you think you have that weapon and like you have a picture of it I guarantee you I can identify that gun okay like some other Sergeant here um Barnes I think he asked me if it was like a a dark black was it black or was it silver and I can't 100% remember but I'm telling you if there was a picture there like I would be able to point it out okay talking to a girl who had nothing but a baseball bat up until several weeks ago yeah well you had it for a couple days you looked at it it's not like I pulled it out and played with it I put it away in the cabinet during the day and at night I just set it next to my couch that I have my next to my bed mhm um so it's not like I sat there and studied it but there were a lot of distinctive things about it like the writing on it so okay well do you swear everything you told me was the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth yeah you need me to hold up my hand yeah absolutely okay let me go let me go put this away and I'll come back and get you and take you downstairs okay Ashley MacArthur was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder in the death of Taylor Wright the charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison she must serve 25 years before she is eligible for parole MacArthur appealed her sentence stating that there was evidence that should not
