I can't let my constitutional rights be violated, so I am on the record. My status is a Moorish American national. I am not a black person. I am not a United States citizen, so that's [clears throat] why I claim my nationality as a Moorish >> You don't have to be United States citizen to be charged with a crime in the United States. And if I were you, I wouldn't go around here in open court livestream declaring that I'm not a United States citizen facing criminal action with the current federal administration. That's That was not in your best interest. I wouldn't do that. >> So I can't claim my national status as a right? >> Yeah, I Okay, that's fine. But you're making a declaration that you're not a citizen. Uh and we have an administration that is making efforts to make sure people who are not citizens who are facing criminal actions are deported. >> You're going to judge. >> The people are arresting, correct? >> Yes, Your Honor. >> Okay. So, um at this point uh Mr. Skates, you have a couple of options. Obviously, you have the right to remain silent and you don't have to do anything to prove that you're in to prove your innocence. It's their job to prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But you do have the right, if you would like, to waive your silence and take the stand and testify. Is that something you wanted to do? Okay, I just wanted to make sure because understanding if you testify, they have the right now to cross-examine or question you. You understand that? So, you do want to remain silent, correct? Okay. So, what we'll do now is we'll um get ready for the composite um instructions and then you'll be able to do your closing arguments. Uh closing arguments. >> Thank you, Your Honor. >> [snorts] >> So, earlier today I told you the theme um what my theory of the case was in terms of the alleged crimes, furnishing false information, and hinder, oppose, or obstructing official business. Um that's what it looks like. To obstruct official business is what we saw. Everyone here knows and can defend for themselves or um has seen other people be pulled over. You know what a traffic stop is like, what you're supposed to bring. It's very um it's a very standard thing that these officers do at traffic stops. As Officer McMullen was initiating traffic stop, investigating the um plate violation that he witnessed, he asked for the multiple items that one would naturally want. Um some of those items some of those items were provided, some weren't. And then, while he's trying to investigate, he's being obstructed by the defendant's constant barrage of theories. Um backup arrives, and the obstruction continues. We're trying to identify who we have now because we're in the middle of an investigation. We can't do that. Um instead, what occurs is a false name is given. The officers check that name. Um first, the paperwork, then the name that's actually uttered. Um nothing comes back in the system. Uh eventually, they for safety's sake detain the defendant and try to establish who they have because they don't know why someone is giving a name that doesn't match their self. It's a safety. After they finally were able to identify him, um he's still obstruct- he's still obstructive. It can be so difficult when you're first in your earlier stages reading about 15 gallons of urine to you to I really get an idea of what it looks like to see a cop in the light, that's where Now, you have to hold me to my burden proving beyond a reasonable doubt that those transcripts committed. I believe that I have met that burden and I ask you to find these defendants guilty on both counts. Thank you for your time. >> Would you like to make a closing statement? >> [snorts] >> All right. So, like I said before, I do like to set it off. Um, I bring back the statement of being criminal, being charged criminal crime of a crime. Um, I understand correctly the crime consists of the bodily injury if somebody gets injured. Has anybody injured at all? Um, other than that, some fines maybe. I feel that I don't But to the whole thing about the furnishing falsified documentation, you can argue about that all day, but it's it's there. It's there. It's their rule basically. Um, I could always take it back to the the universal indigenous indigenous people. You made it for a long time. About allowed to nationality which is what I am I'm more presenting those documentations, having the uh certified documents in hand showing them the laws won't help none, but it might What I mean I could say is uh I stand by what I done and I don't see anything wrong that I did. >> Okay. Any re-argument or you're all set? >> I'll make brief your honor. >> [clears throat] >> As you heard three now four times, I'm going to say it again from everyone. Um The court has instructed you all what the law is in this matter. The law is what the court has stated. You'll have it in front of you in a short while. Um There is no requirement in any of the elements provided in these counts for there to be a bodily injury. And so again, I ask you to take what you've heard today, what you've seen, and look at those elements and find the defendant guilty on both counts. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Okay. One of you all gets to go home because you were the alternate. In case someone didn't make it through the day. Juror number five. Thank you for your service. You may be excused. All the remaining of you will be excused to deliberate. You can take your notes with you. Again, remember to select a foreperson. Um if you would like to review any of the exhibits that was admitted, your foreperson can notify by knocking on the door and passing a note. You're not allowed to speak directly to the court officer or to the judge or to the lawyers. And then try your best to work out your differences if they arise [snorts] and to come to a unanimous agreement if possible. All rise. I'm going to swear you in David. Okay. My understanding is that you have a verdict. Okay. [clears throat] Are you the foreperson? >> Yes. >> Okay. If you could read your verdict, please. >> We the jury >> Uh it's up to you. >> Um on count one, not guilty. On count two, guilty. >> Did you want the jury polled? >> Yes, sir, please. >> Okay, uh juror number one, is that your true and accurate verdict? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Juror number two, is that your true and accurate verdict? >> Yes. >> Number three, is that your true verdict? Number four, is that your true verdict? >> Yes. >> Juror number five, is that your true verdict? >> That's juror number five. Number five. Juror number Juror number six, is that your true verdict? >> Yes. >> And juror number seven, is that your true verdict? >> Yes. >> Okay, I want to thank each of you for appearing today and for being attentive uh and diligent in your work to uh make sure that the justice department does what they're supposed to do. Um the system does not work without willing participants like yourself. So, uh thank you again. If you would like to stay behind and talk to the attorneys, uh sometimes they like they ask questions, but it's completely up to you if you'd like to stay. Otherwise, you are free to go and thank you again for your service. Okay. Uh so, that was uh not guilty on count one, guilty on count two, furnishing false furnishing. It is my understanding, sir, is that you're only being held on this, correct? >> Yes, we're also >> Okay, it looks like you've been in custody on this since February. So, with a 500% bond, you're all credited your time, sir. You're all set. Thank you. >> But more, I hope you all much more than this. I did it my Anybody out there from Walla Walla, Washington? My Anybody out there got a birthday tonight? Well, there were times I've had a few when I've been more than I could chew, but through it all and there was I ate it up and spat it out. I don't remember how the rest of it goes. >> [laughter] >> If you enjoyed today's episode, [music] make sure you hit the thumbs up button. Subscribe if you haven't already and ring that bell. >> [music] >> And leave a comment in the comment section. Tell me what you think about today's verdict. And a huge thank you to all of our Facts [music] or Frauds channel members. Your support helps keep this channel going and it's noticed [music] and I appreciate you all. So, Mr. Skates Bay told the jury his nationality was the law [music] and not their law. The problem is that jurors don't decide nationality [music] claims. They decide facts. And real indigenous nations don't need [music] rewritten history to prove that they exist. And simply declaring yourself Moorish does not place you outside the law. Nor does it make you indigenous. In the end, the jury listened to the evidence, watched the body cams, heard the arguments, [music] and reached a verdict. Reality does not change because someone says it should. Until next time, I'll see [music] you soon.
