Gman accused of shooting and killing a US postal worker during a road rage incident back in February pleaded guilty today to murder Downey frell fired four times at that postal truck in a fit of road rage Tony Mosby somehow made a hand gesture of some sort and it angered Donnie frell there was a reward for any information regarding this case up to $50,000 we now know two individuals in that car with the suspect they cooperated with authorities it is unclear if they are eligible or will receive any of that money this video contains the interrogation of a man who shot a postal worker during a road rage incident in February 2018 Donnie Fel and his cousin went out with their girlfriends for the evening while the cousin was visiting in town the group spent several hours hanging out and enjoying themselves and frell who wasn't driving that night had a few drinks too many on the way home a USPS vehicle passed them on the freeway and something about it set off frell's temper he pulled his gun and shot at the van causing it to Caren into the retaining wall killing the driver Tony Mosby when the police tracked FAL Down 2 days later there was a standoff outside his home before the police managed to bring him in for questioning I'm put today's date is the 21st 18 time is 11 oh D you know I've been um I've been working a case and um this case that I've been working your your name came up uh a few times in my case all right uh in this case uh I I know you were there okay I know I know you were there and I know really what happened but I want to help me understand okay what happened and like I told you before everybody make mistakes you made plenty mistakes I made plenty of mistakes all right but at the same time uh you know sometimes our mistakes are more costly than others all right but at the end of the day as men okay we own up to We own up to what we done right and we move on all right because guess what this this day two going to pass right all right yeah sometimes you got to get over you know hurdles all right but what I need you to help me understand of why and how everything happen Okay so let's get down to um uh and let's go back to start at Saturday okay and Saturday um is Saturday and heavily understand we talking about the 17th okay all right we talking about Saturday the 17th okay so few days after Valentine Day uh let's go from your day starting Saturday morning on up to right now okay so let let's let's talk about that so what what did you do starting off Saturday what happened Saturday I don't know slept most of the day you was at home right in Hutchins okay you so you and Chanel y'all sleeping up in Hutchins right okay s most of the day got up cousin wanted to go out we went out who was your cousin I mean we we talking like I told you before I mean I'm not I don't have anything to hide right now all right I mean but you know I ain't trying even though forel's cousin is completely innocent he is still unwilling to give the detective the information out names you know okay so all right so this okay all right we'll get to that later all right so you and your cousin he you you contact him he contact you who he contact me he did okay he asked me to go out so we went out kicking it m then after that shoting pool whatever where where did y'all and then we talking about Saturday okay and and this and and and help I'm I'm going tell you this some of the questions and some of the things I'm going to ask you you know you hear me asked you a few times but it's it's not that I I think you lying or anything like that but it's just I'm trying to get a better understanding of what actually occurred you see what I'm saying all so you say Saturday I don't I don't want it to be um where you say Okay Saturday I slept for all day uh then he we you know like said we sh then we now let me I want to know if if if you you um you know slept then you know by what time you woke up what time yall went out where all did y'all go and go Saturday see it's hard to pinpoint okay that's okay okay but I know he slept mhm cuz you know I be working on it week so he s got up 2 something okay and so what time what what time was it you said about 1 something so what time did did your cousin contact you I can't even tell you now we it wasn't one when we woke up we slept till about 5 oh so yall slept all day we slept all day so I said slept all day mhm so it had to been around 6 7 when he contact me and what did he say said do I want to kick it okay you know what I'm saying something like cool I baby she say yeah M so we went and kicked yeah did so where did where first at first first y y'all hooked up with him yeah we hooked over him but before we did that we went to the movies me and my my girl we went to see black panther it was a good movie wasn't it yeah then we hooked up with them M and CH so when y say you say you hooked up with them where where did y'all hook up at at the room where do they have a room at in a hotel you know which one can't remember that and what I'm I'm just and what I'm trying to do I'm trying to understand you know I'm I'm trying to Picture This everything in my head just like you you're telling me okay so that's why I can't remember the name can you could you describe the hotel real has no trouble giving the details of the past two days since this was a crime of impulse there's nothing in this time period to incriminate him she had colorful lights colorful lights where where uh downtown I believe downtown U it's close by here cuz it's close to downtown I guess I don't know but it was had colorful life like red green some stuff like that you know side of the building whatever okay then from there we went to the house went to sleep night so yall yall how long y'all y'all hang out with them not that long prob about so y'all just pretty much chilling okay so now what time y you think you made it to the house prob about 9 10 that night and we talking about on the uhur that's Saturday night so y'all were in the house on Saturday at 9:00 okay y' didn't go nowhere else okay so leave me up until uh Sunday okay now Sunday is the 18th okay so let's let's talk about Sunday what you do Sunday what time what time y'all wake up same same time when we turned to in Saturday kind of you know M no tips or whatever and I'm going tell you man I'm not worried about if y'all you know y drunk y smoke weed or nothing like I'm not I'm saying I'm just tell I'm just want to put that out there I'm not I don't worri about I'm not worried about that I just need to know what happen so that way I can I can have a clear picture and understanding of everything okay so yeah so when we turned then Saturday we little tip so again we slept got up and went back to the hotel was kicking there then last the night we went shop po m kicking it for kicked it for a while that night so on the 18th we talking about now we talking about Sunday yeah okay so Sunday y'all kicked it for a while so what time y you think y'all hooked up probably about seven seven where where where did y'all hook up at where what location got the hotel huh we met we met them at a little restaurant they was at and then we followed them back to the hotel okay okay so y'all met him at the restaurant you know what kind of what's the name of Thea Burger Joint Burger Joint okay have you ever eaten there okay so y'all y'all met at the Burger Joint and then from there and you said that was about 7:00 and then y'all went back to the hotel so what what did y'all do uh after y'all went uh to the hotel how long did y'all stay at the hotel first of all probably about an hour about about an hour so now we're at 8:00 right all right so y'all at the uh at the hotel so about 8:00 so what what did y'all do at after went to sho I'm talking about so anything between there far as like um did yall go anywhere else from the Hotel before y went to sh no but before after we left the burger joint on the way back to the hotel we stopped at the gas station then we went to the room and from the room we went in sh okay what where what gas station did y yall stop at I think it was 7 where where about downtown somewhere close to the hotel wherever the hotel is okay okay so when you when yall stopped at the hotel at the 7eleven who did you go inside the store or did they go inside yeah we all went inside you and who else my cousin okay all right in his his female okay so did did uh what y so y'all okay y'all met them up there so were y'all in two cars or we went to the gas station yeah okay y'all was in two cars the gas station okay so everybody got out their cars and they went up in there right uh so after the gas St Y at 71 what did y'all do he went to the room yeah went back to the room all right and that's the the the hotel with the the the C for lights okay so when yall at the hotel all right uh what happened just s listening to music chopping it up okay how long did y'all stay there like I say probably about an hour hour and a half it could have been too so about eight8 something okay I don't think it was that early to be a little later sobody about about n about 9 10 maybe okay so when y'all were at the room where did y'all go from there to the uh shoe pool to S Bar you know you remember the name of it let me see no I would have on GPS okay yeah so is was it a place that you guys have been before no so we had GPS just looking for something to go do sh we was going to go Bing but it was too late for all that so we just up a little pool wall so y'all went to the pool y'all pretty much had a good time I know I'm pretty sure y'all drinking and stuff like that having a good time right uh probably smoking where yall smok smoke oh you don't smoke okay was anybody else smoking no nobody smoking but everybody just drinking what you had to drink a beer some beer that's all I drink is beer what kind but I well at that at the bar they didn't have but ice so I drun blood light okay so okay so you at the bar you chilling you having a good time with you with your lady with your cousin who and who who and his lady so it's the four of y'all so y'all pretty much y just having a chill night you know enjoying enjoy each other's company and and just pretty much chilling right so uh when you guys um you know you guys get there how long did y'all stay we stayed for all cuz we was real we was real tipsy cuz I I know everything is foggy me you know it's like I know I can remember leaving but yeah so what what time did y'all actually get there I want to say around it had to been 10 10 something going on 11 okay and y'all stay uh did y'all stay the whole time till the close or did y'all how long did y'all stay we left about like a little bit before two okay a little bit before two all right so on the way uh from the the PO hul where did y'all go back to the hotel okay so okay in between uh from the hotel okay I mean from from the pool hall to the hotel before y get to the hotel um and and this is where me and you you know this this this is uh what I was telling you about earlier how I mean you got your whole life ahead of you and we need to be honest with each other the interrogation has reached the critical point where the detective finds out whether forel is going to be truthful or not forel decide to take his chances back over behind her okay all right so when you guys are uh in the car y'all coming home all right um y'all did y'all take any back streets or y'all driving on the highway we was on the street for a minute I know that I remember I was on the window asked I'm like what are you doing like where you going I remember ask I'm like where are you going I don't know so she GPS cuz she was lost and then we did get on the freeway okay which freeway did y'all get on I mean talk I'm talking to you I'm I'm being straight okay so yall on the freeway okay all right how many vehicles on on the road with you on the freeway mhm I don't know three okay well describe can you describe you remember the vehicles that um you know no cuz I really wasn't paying attention like okay like I said I was intoxicated so I wasn't really focused on nothing that wasn't going on inside the vehicle okay so I know you said want to focus on another one that was inside the vehicle but you you focus on something outside the vehicle okay that's what I just said yeah you focus you focus on stuff outside the vehicle I wasn't you but you want you said you wanted to focus on anything inside the vehicle no I said I said I don't know you asked me how many cars and should describe I said I don't know cuz I wasn't focused on nothing outside okay okay so when y'all on the highway y'all headed back uh to uh the hotel all right all right what what happened we heading back to the hot M did you get into it with anybody you didn't okay umate I'm going to be straight forward with you man and like I like I have been the whole time uh I know there was more to this case I'm working a case where uh and I'm a homicide detective okay right you seem like a straightforward man yeah and that's what I'm saying I need you to be straightforward with me uh because I know um I had lied to you from the day one when I came in I had been mean to you any been straight respectful to you right and and that's why how I plan to continue this conversation I'm always going to be respectful respectful to you but at the same time I got to get down to the bottom of this case okay all right and like I told you before been doing a lot of homework regarding this case because like I say you you're a father you know you soon to be father too um so and you already told me that this young lady that you love her to death you told me that this you said you'll die for this lady you told me that then so I love at death right right right but you but meaning that you know you die would you die for her too I would yeah right that's to me you know that's I love to death I I die I die for mine you know what I mean um as far and also too for the kids you know um you know we we live in a a world is crazy out here sometime all right like I told you everybody make mistakes um I know you you you were drunk but you you seem like a guy I mean you already told me ear that you don't smoke right M all right but you seem like a guy that you you probably drink but you still understand you know you know your action you you ain't going to let yourself get that bad because you you know you you're you're a very intelligent guy you know and I and I can tell that you know but when I know on this highway you know um letma tell you something everywhere you go right out here you can't be missed by nothing right someone can always tell uh where you are is that right what you mean like like say so you know what do you have out here all right you got when you drive down highways you got you drive down the highways you you know you going to the red lights you got all you know I know I driving through red lights I see people you know they they lights get lights and placees get flash all these type of things happen right so you know that for and then two cameras cameras you got what else you got what else do we care carry that's that become so popular back in the day we used to carry Pages now we got cell phone we got all those type of things you know what I mean um so we got a lot of I got I've been working this case and got a lot of information you see what I'm saying and also too you weren't the only one in that car you see what I'm saying right and I'm going tell you um when you put up uh50 ,000 right for a reward okay so that's why me and you that's why I need to talk to you okay and that's why I need you to be real honest with me because I rather for me to tell your story I mean you to tell your own story then me to have to tell your story I know you're not a cold blooded killer all right I know you're not I know you're not a cold blood killer are you a cold blood killer no I'm not K right right but at the same time that night when you were driving down that Highway you were riding in that car uh there was an incident that occurred okay there was an incident occurred okay all right and I know when you were driving on that Highway when when you riding on that Highway in that car in your girl car when she was driving all right I know that uh there was an incident where an individual may have been cutting you guys off a post office vehicle driven by Tony Mosby drove past forel and forel became upset about some perceived slight why and you didn't like it all right and I don't know if he he made a gesture towards you flipped you off or whatever but at that point in time you had a a gun on you did you mean to kill him who said I killed him did you mean to shoot at him who said I shot at him I'm not going to play no games with you you know what I'm saying that's what I'm saying I I do I do I know you fired at that guy you know I know I know you fired at that guy I know you fired at the vehicle that he was in all right and you know that too but I I'm trying to get you to help me understand uh why I don't remember man I was I told you I was faded huh I don't remember so but but even after the fact I mean you you you knew right I've spoken with Chanel right I've spoken with Antoine I've spoken with Jess I spoken with these folks you see what I'm saying so you the only one you the last one left you think we just showed up at your house and pick you out of all these meons of folk you think we did that just just just out of random we say hey we going we going to go we going to mess with Old Dy Jun today you think we did that no D that ain't the way it work you see what I'm saying so that's why I came to you when I tell you straight up when I walking the door I sat on this table and I told you say man look here I'mma come to you I'm going talk to you I'm going to be honest with you I ain't going to feed you no fried ice cream you hear what I'm saying but only thing I ask that you be honest with me okay you a young man man you got your whole life ahead of you all right but I need to know what happened did did he make you that angry or was it just an h i was faded you was faded okay I was real real life how do your the gun how long you on the gun I that long it was not even M was given to me it it was given to you who gave it to you some God really how uh what what kind of gun is it 38 38 what color chrome chrome what color what color handle black black you keep you keep rounds in all the time not all the time just sometime sometime all right but y know you probably keep it for protection and only reason I had it to be honest with you being honest I was working at 7 that's why it was given to me because I was working up there and for the past I mean that's understandable I mean you got you got to protect yourself all time I I don't carry guns I wether farel typically carried the gun for protection or not doesn't matter Mosby was no threat and forell is going to have difficulty gaining any sympathy during his trial I like that so but we talking about this guy um then this man didn't deserve to die you know what I mean this man that that that that you shot didn't kill this man was at work you hear me he's working making his second delivery all right at work for the Postal Service okay and I and and and yeah people make mistakes you think this man was worried about y'all trying to get on trying to act on purpose trying to cut y'all off no right this man only thing he was doing is is getting on the highway you see what I'm saying only thing he was doing is getting on the highway man you know and yeah I mean I know Chanel wasn't she she was under influence she was driving a little erratic you know but then all a sudden you know he pull on to the she p on to the side of then y get in the front and and you and you fire off you know we we talking man you know I'm saying I off and this man you he hits the wall you know I mean at this time I mean man I we get on the scene I mean this this man has lost his life you see what I'm saying this man got a family this man got know sisters and brothers Donnie farel pleaded guilty to one count of murder of an employee of an agency of the United States government and one count of discharging a
