Cottonwood Police Department in Cottonwood Arizona looks like we've got a tank back there [Music] [Music] this department had really good reviews on google hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. sport solutions not addictions I'm good just checking things out thank you what's this what are these donations go to actually just rehab rehabilitation was it is this just a rehabilitation thing rehab rather than prison transition folks that are homeless transition into housing and try to keep the community that has compassion to want to help them from maybe feeding into their addiction and really trying to find resources to transition them down out of the homeless community if that's what they want okay so that's a non property miss other ones are citizens on patrol and that's part of a nonprofit that we have as well so we're always hurting financially for money to support for their uniforms and everything they do for us so we put out these and we get quite a bit of community support actually in terms of that alright does the police department get any federal funding we do okay numbers okay all right I noticed the military equipment out there in the best it's through a military program dermal I'm not sure which stands for you have talked somebody else that's more familiar with it okay but that that's donated we don't get we don't pay for that right you guys own it then do you know or is it kind of a I've seen some of them where the federal government lets police departments use them but they don't technically to hold on to it to use but we can't just turn around and sell it to try to make money type thing okay utilize it but once we're done with it it's got to go through the proper channels in terms of being returned or auctioned or whatever the case may be okay so the federal government still owns it this is essentially yeah they may have the last say so we're not gonna you're not gonna find our you know them rap out there on any kind of buy sell trade okay okay cuz I was gonna try and buy it I so I shouldn't make you an offer even you know I was gonna take a camping take a camping and actually shoot at it that'd be fun it was involved in a barricade situation where we did utilize it to go up and remove officers and civilians that were trapped in someone's shooting from a house and they were trapped in a section outside the house so we utilize the MRAP went up there the suspect shot at shot addict so it's got a couple dings on it you know you know what kind of firearm ii used to shoot it okay they probably bounced right off there yeah yeah so but if it's been utilized for what we intended it to for saving lives so it's we have at least one incident where where it was used for that that's good i think a lot of times people get the misconception that it's um militant well you know and i can see that i understand that but it's really on something like that we wouldn't have had the equipment without that to go in and remove the officers and the civilians that were from this gunfire going on and so it served a purpose of saving lives was it a hostage situation or something okay okay okay okay yeah I saw you but he was shooting out at the police and then it was a it was we assisted the FI County Sheriff's Office so more details on that if I want to contact them but it again served its purpose we be able to go in extract the victims and save lives so it's a it's a useful tool that's just not used often are you locally here or no I'm traveling through yeah probably be here for a week or two just check it out it's it's nice it's a beautiful area it's well it's nice compared to other places that's why we're here yeah we were in Flagstaff a few days ago stuck in the snow and it was okay it was a little bit of snow but we had a big RV yeah at least it's an RV so you can stage there oh yeah but yeah this is a great area there's it's a great community you know we have about 12,000 population for the city limits but we serve a population on any given day at forty five sixty thousand a lot of tourism then yes okay that's what we're here for okay we got a couple areas that we have a couple areas around here that serve the Brewers and stuff they have you know if you like that kind of stuff or if you just like window shopping whatever you like you probably find something to do here to enjoy yeah we I mean we came for Sedona but we didn't yeah but we we ended up coming down here this the RV parks in Sedona are kind of stuck up you know I didn't even get the price as soon as I talked to the later on the phone I said no thanks yeah they're known for their tourism and you know the price a little higher over there compared to here and so you know one of the things is a conduit we've really started kind of known for being the heart of the wine country in Arizona and so we're at a great location to for folks who hit Sedona want to come through hit Cottonwood then Jerome or vice versa and and we have reasonable rigs here that are yeah we're liking it we're liking it better here than Sedona yeah I mean we've got everything around us but we're staying here yeah yeah yeah it it is right yep yep we will stay here and we will visit there the folks yeah they really are nice around here you know it's just a great community I think hopefully as you're out and about if you see you know long for some stuff and you see then it's a you know it's true what I'm saying about them it's a great name to see thank you yeah thanks for chatting with me okay I know a lot of you guys watch these videos just waiting for that idiot police officer to act up make himself look stupid in front of the camera well Cottonwood Police Department pleasantly disappointed we did experience exactly what this officer at the department told us we would pleasant people great businesses and later on a great interaction with a police officer out on the street so the next time you go to visit Sedona Arizona make sure and hit up Cottonwood just 15 or 20 minutes away make sure and tell them that James Freeman sent you and don't worry no matter where you go there's always gonna be a tyrant just up the road
