where are you actually coming from tonight coming from yeah what do you mean where are you coming from where were you at before this uh i was down at the um uh at the end airport far away at an airport how long were you there for a couple minutes okay keep your hand out of your pocket for me there i don't know what you have on you so hey everybody it's james freeman this video was recorded thursday february 11 2021 in santa fe new mexico while i was headed to get some dinner this vehicle was pulled over directly behind me so of course i took out the cameras to record oh [ __ ] just recording you guys are good do your thing yeah i see it looks like he's about to run no no she's not i think she just got confused oh okay were you already just chilling here they pulled in right behind me so i just pulled out the camera all right brother yeah how are you doing tonight good man another night give me a favorite brother just in case because you never know how it goes just kind of stay safe by your car i'll take care of me man don't worry just want to make sure yeah guys no matter how many times they say it the police are under zero legal or lawful obligation to keep you safe your own safety and security always has been and always will be your responsibility okay i'll take care of the angles yeah you know i'm guessing i'll probably i'll probably put one of the tripods over there and then i'll probably uh uh shoot from the other side as well and by shoot i mean video yeah we just don't want like anyone walking behind us and stuff but do your thing man yeah thank you bro yeah some yeah sometimes i got to get behind you to get the shot you know i mean he also has no legal or lawful right or duty to tell me where i can or can't record from at first i kind of just try to casually blow him off but when he keeps at it i decide it's time to dish out some of his own medicine i get that he's being cool calm and collected while giving me arbitrary orders that i don't have to follow some people may even mistaken this for being nice or polite but i think that there's nothing polite about giving random people arbitrary orders yeah hey man um where where are you actually coming from tonight coming from yeah what do you mean where are you coming from where were you at before this uh i was down at the um uh at the end airport and airport how long were you there for a couple minutes okay keep your hand out of your pocket for me there i don't know what you have on you so um so how long were you out there for five minutes about five minutes how many other cops are out there with you just by yourself okay what were you doing over there just patrolling me patrolling yeah okay [Music] all right um do you got any idea on you uh what are you talking about you got id on you i got my badge right here yeah do you have id on you though yeah any identify can i see it no okay what is that is there a reason you're uncooperative or yeah you can record do your thing hey just look look look look man oh yeah i get what you're doing it's cool bro hey i'll tell you what if if you if you'd be cool with me i'll be cool with you okay do you have issues with authority or something or okay help me out bro yeah yeah help me out i'll help you out show me your id bro when he came back to re-engage me i tried to blow him off a few times the reason is because i've seen these tactics used before where he'll come back try to buddy up with me and then once again give me more arbitrary orders to avoid this i really tried to just not engage in conversation with him and blow him off he continued to persist and eventually i engaged in conversation with him i don't mind chatting with him at all i just didn't want to get back into a situation where he feels comfortable giving me arbitrary directives again no no he's no he's all right hold on second act they're in my ear right now you from santa fe hold on just a second they're talking to me on my radio hold on one second yeah i miss that can you repeat yeah 10-4 all right what's up man brother oh i don't know man yeah where's santa fe where's not too much action it's not just a traffic stop man yeah so you got is that two cell phones there yes there's a reason you don't want to id or officer echoes what is it equals echoes eccles okay badge number two zero seven okay you don't have id on you though yeah here's my idea right here that's that's your id badge number two zero seven all right policy i'm pretty giving you my last name in my bedroom cool yeah yeah no i just you know just for my safety i just wanted a photo id just for my safety i can't carry this unless i get certified that's my id man cool that's all right i mean i get it some people don't want to be cooperative it's no big deal i deal with it all the time man stuff or what what stuff like recording recording like a traffic stop like you go around and record and put the stuff oh i don't know man yeah yeah toy you're right brother i get it got a big storm coming in this weekend it's supposed to get like 10 degrees i heard what's that under 10. get under 10 degrees like negative 10 or under 10. not in it not below zero okay all right still going to be cold man and we have a lot of homeless out here so we're just trying to make sure that they get to a shelter or something because yeah we don't want people freezing today you guys got uh laws against urban camping out here or no or well there is a city ordinance but it's just as far as camping on like city property but other than that no our city is really trying to take care of the homeless population and stuff like that it's tough man that's a tough situation it is some people want to be homeless others are like yep that's a lot a lot better than what denver does then huh well i don't know do they not allow like public campaigns no no no no anywhere yeah dell i was up there two years ago and they were going through right before a winter storm would come yeah and they'd send units out to confiscate sleeping bags and tents as evidence of violating the urban camping law and they lost more people uh it was about i'm thinking it was a year two years ago but they they lost more people than ever that that winter i'm sure it's probably like a city ordinance or something yeah i hope they did something that's just cold-hearted though you know that man no literally just uh we talked to a couple homeless guys earlier and he told them hey man we're saying they get to a shelter because it's supposed to get really freaking cold yeah a lot of the guys out there didn't want to go to shelters because they got to give up their stuff you can't bring anything in and yeah you they're homeless yeah but they acquire some things and yeah you know you don't want to let go of everything you've got i get it it's a tough situation i feel for people i really do it's just so hard now with the drug problem man i think some of the fundamental problems in this country is due to the drug war i think the country's taking steps now which is good you know what i mean but i mean especially like we carry narcan and stuff so if we would have those we'll give them that and you save a lot of lives if they really do um but i mean it's it's hard people people literally give up everything for that stuff yeah and shit's awful you need education over prison though man yeah largest prison population in the world in the history of the world and over 70 of them for not not even violent crimes but using drugs not that it's good stuff you know but i'm kind of curious to see what happens i think it wasn't oregon or they passed like the it's not a criminal to possess like like heroin and stuff like that i'm kind of curious to see what happens i guess we won't know them after until after a couple years my prediction is at first there's going to be a societal downfall from it but it then denver like with them legalizing marijuana i heard like the crime spiked up yeah it is but yeah yeah i think stuff like that will cause immediate societal downfall and after that people will have to learn look government can't take care of you for everything you've got to learn to take care of yourself make your own choices and it's a problem that those laws ever existed and recovery from how long you've been in santa fe man but like i know there's some families here man like you grow up your own people are doing it yeah parents are doing it your grandparents are doing it it's just like a way of life it's crazy it's crazy i hope it gets figured out it's it's off of one of these you know these guests men are these kids 20 years old yeah it's going to be a long recovery road man what's done right usually doesn't come easy new mexico police have been uh the best by the way out of the entire nation i've been to a lot of states yeah a lot of cities well you know the way i would raise man is you gotta give respect to get respect you know the worst criminal cops in the nation are probably in arizona really oh it's horrible it's horrible man new mexico i mean i'm seeing proactive approaches at uh making positive change in new mexico and again you know good things don't come quick they don't come easy but i'm i'm seeing effort towards changing new mexico and arizona they're buckling down harder and harder on being tyrants i've done this job for eight years and this time yeah i wish i could say it's you know how many years eight years now right on it's not an easy job i mean we we deal with people on their worst days every day yeah i've been doing this for three four years it's not an easy job i had stuff yeah you had the [ __ ] beat out of you before on the job no no yeah i mean i've been in my scuffle yeah yeah the problem with me is in my position in my job when i'm getting the [ __ ] beat out of me i'm not allowed to defend myself you know what i mean that's tough man with the media or yeah yeah yeah when pigs are beating or sorry when cops are beating the [ __ ] when they're beating the [ __ ] out of you i mean anybody else who starts swinging at me i can defend myself when a cop starts throwing punches all i can do is go limp what i can say brother is i i don't know this situation man but i mean you know there's bad apples in every location definitely yes i think that's the difference between new mexico and arizona right now too is that new mexico has been willing to get rid of the bad ones and arizona has been harboring them and in encouraging bad behavior and that's the difference that's it right there there's bad people in every profession there's bad people everywhere you go and there's good people if you see something wrong yeah all right i think she got her right man cool all right y'all have a good night sorry too many hands all right [Music] you
