[Music] Sandra knows probably better than most people that family is sometimes the people you choose and she chooses to treat the people she works with and the people here at the Sheriff's Office like family she greets people with a big smile and a big hug and you know she cares about you so Sandra we're works in the crimes against children unit I am the Corporal in the crimes against children unit I have been working with her for about 6 years now um she is a plethora of knowledge within the criminal justice system so anytime we have a victim and their family needing some assistance with the court process she's one of my go-to uh persons for that and then she does a tremendous amount of volunteer work with different projects through the Sheriff's Office she is the Cornerstone a ride and run uh she's extremely passionate about helping families not only putting the event together day of but she is absolutely instrumental in putting together uh the list of families that need assistance and taking that all the way through the event to the shopping to the delivery uh she is just the master of all that endless amounts of work and extra effort that make all of those events go seamlessly Sandra is one of the funniest person person since I have come across she's down to earth she's so easy to talk to which I would say correlates to her success as a victim Advocate because the families and the victims are able to connect with her just as I have been able to connect with her and members of the unit have been able to connect with her her real job here at the sheriff's office as a victim Advocate is just uh it's got to be one of the hardest jobs in the agency she's so empathetic and compassionate she just does such a an amazing job in her role um when I heard Sandra was nomin ated for this award I thought it's about time she has always been a team player in all the community events that the Sheriff's Office puts on I was excited uh because there's really nobody more deserving there are so many roles in the sheriff's office that are kind of under the radar certainly her day job as a victim Advocate is one of those because she she and Bobby both just do quiet super important work when I found out she won the award I was so excited for her uh she she deserves it the hours that she puts into her role and her task and she always goes above and beyond like it's so amazing to see that she's being recognized for her hard work she always asks how you're doing she remembers your family the names of your kids and she asks about them there isn't anybody you would rather have in your corner than Sandra she is a force and she will go to battle for you
