depy gesso is assigned to Central Division she is responsible for the income the booking of individuals when they come into the area into the jail she also oversees something called direct supervision where it could be a capacity of 80 inmates to one Deputy so she works uh in both capacities she's also a field trainer in the area so she's able to train and guide our new recruits so um very diverse very different things that she is responsible for she is such a hard worker she's always up um she's super high energy she's always got her meal prep don't get in the way of meal time or gym time yeah she's big in the fitness does all those competitions for the bodybuilding stuff and all that I give her tips um but she works hard she's always smiling always high energy she's a pleasure to work with de Gusto was working overtime she was driving over the Courtney Campbell Causeway early in the morning about 5 um 5:30 a.m. so I get a call from her she goes I'm going to be late uh and I she says there's a there's an accident over here I'm helping out with this acent I said okay no problem and that was all she said well then she came in she walks in there she goes where am I sign and went right to her post now I have no idea what happened at the accident I don't know what she did until later on is when I find out a car ran over her foot she had an injured foot and she stopped this drunk driver from driving off cuz she reached in and pulled those keys out and if she didn't do that who knows what could have happened you know somebody could have lost their lives other people could have been seriously hurt but the kind of person she is she still came to work for me she still came in went to work and never said a word she never complains she she's just boy she's one in a million I'm very happy that Jey Gusto is receiving the recognition for doing something well above and beyond the details of her daily Duty especially when it has to do with interactions from the citizens and for the safety of the public I'm very happy that she is receiving that recognition for that because it's well deserved I wouldn't necessarily say surprise I I could see her getting some kind of award just because of who she is her personality I think maybe I was surprised at first but after knowing Deputy Augusto that seems exactly the way that she would respond to something like that talking with her kind of at length about where she needed to be in that time and place she was exactly where she needed to be and I think it's really likely that she prevented a tragedy [Music]
