hey what's up guys [Music] all right sorry so um I'm out here in Dallas we've got a Dallas police officer here it looks like we've got a traffic stop possibly I sure hope it's not a traffic stop because Dallas police is severely understaffed last week we had calls that were waiting six or seven hours hey good how are you I'm about 10 feet which is what seem acceptable what's that it doesn't matter what you want so I want to talk about how close I'm standing what people think of it and why I'm standing where I'm standing one it's been established that we can record the police so long as we are not interfering with the investigation or obstructing my silent presence here with the camera is not interfering with their investigation or whatever they're doing and my physical presence is not keeping them from moving around and doing whatever they need to do so I don't believe that I'm interfering or obstructing if you consider that live PD is able to go out with these guys and film from even closer than I am right now I think it would make it perfectly clear that the camera being present there does not obstruct or interfere with what's going on so it clearly has nothing to do with how close the cameraman is or isn't to them while they're doing their job so what is the deciding factor on which cameraman can get close enough to see in here and which cameraman cannot get close enough to see in here is it based on whether they think the cameraman has a positive or negative opinion of them are they censoring different media outlets based on what opinion they think the media outlet will have guys the whole point of a video camera is to pick up video and audio of what's going on if I can't be close enough to pick up the actual video an actual audio of what's going on then what's the point of having the camera on in the first place we don't want us the base we can make sure I know hey Carol hey so we got calls waiting about six or seven hours out here in Dallas and you guys are running stupid traffic stop Parker don't ever talk back to me again [Music] funny as soon as they saw me coming up all of a sudden okay we're good to go we're good to go we're gonna yeah yeah let's let's end this let's wrap this up we're good to go we're good to go yeah yeah you guys are good now you're good let me give you a few more stupid instructions though because I can't leave without telling you what to do no dead serious okay guys just jump on the Dallas scanner or go look at the open calls in Dallas which I mean kudos to them for making it open record where we don't have to go and search open record requests to get it a huge shout out to Dallas PD for that at least or the city of Dallas whoever's responsible for for that but yeah you don't even have to go do an open records request you can go to Dallas what is it Dallas open calls or something like that just just Google open calls in Dallas and you'll see the website that'll come up you can you can see all of the calls that are in Dallas that I mean you can also jump on the scanner their their scanner is not encrypted and they've got calls it'll wait six seven eight nine hours and they'll still be going over the radio you know hey can someone get to that major disturbance for seven hours ago hey can someone get to that major disturbance from six hours ago and so you know they've got actual calls people are asking for help and in the meantime they're out here stopping people doing traffic stop
