Hi, I'm Taylor Fluty. I'm a forensic science specialist here and I'm also part of the Major Case Response Team. With that, I get this beautiful take home van, and we're actually going to get a tour of it today. Come on! So let's start up front here. We have our laptop holder, our radio, our typical radio, and then we also have lights. But we do not have sirens in these vans. As for over here I have my cooler. I work day shift, it's very hot here in Florida, so I've got to have that. And then we also have our road vests. So whenever we go to a traffic accident or anything that is close to the road, we will put this on just for safety. And then we also have a bulletproof vest. Now let's get to the fun stuff. As for in here, we have almost everything you could possibly need for a crime scene. So obviously we're going to have our camera. This is used almost on every single crime scene. And then in here we have multiple drawers of many things. Everything is labeled, of course. Up here we just have typical gloves, other gloves, if we're going to be doing any type of digging. We have some chemical books and then just extra scales if we need for certain scenes. This is our fingerprinting drawer, If we need to fingerprint anybody and get elimination prints. We have multiple pieces of tape and powder in this drawer. And here is for more DNA collection. So we're going to have some of our GSR kits for gunshot residue collection. Or we're going to be having some like fingernails clippings and scrapings and/or other swabs. Down here we have some tape that we'll use for like documenting blood evidence. We also have regular crime scene tape. If we're going to package anything while we're on scene, it's going to be our evidence tape. And then we also have just like multiple different cans of hairspray. If we need to ever cast a shoe print in sugar sand, we will spray the top of it with hairspray just to solidify it just a little more. Let's go inside. All right. As for in here, we have our DNA kit if we need to collect any possible DNA from a scene. And we also have our phenolphthalein kit. So if we're going to be looking for any possible blood, we can use this as well. We also have our fingerprinting kit, if we need to do any fingerprint processing on scene. So we have multiple pieces of tape and lots of powder in here. We also have lots of bags for evidence collection. Can never have too many bags. We also have a very large ladder. I've only used it a few times, but in the few times I have used it, it is to photograph very high bullet holes on a building, so it definitely comes in handy. Definitely have a rain jacket. It rains often in Florida so we just have extra clothes essentially in our vans. We have a very messy job, so sometimes we just need a quick, quick wardrobe change. As for over here, we have our photo markers, which I'm sure everyone has seen these, if you watch the crime documentaries. There you go. We have our trajectory rods if we need to do any shooting reconstruction. As for in here we have knife tubes. So if we have a very large knife or any sharp object that can actually go in here and we will prevent from hurting ourselves. As for in here, more bags. Can't have enough bags. Down here we have our arson boots. So this is going to be again for any fire scene or a swampy scene somewhere where maybe you just don't want to be knee deep in mud or the ocean, because I have also done that before. More photo markers. We have a vacuum kit down here if we need to do any trace collections on a scene, where we literally will be putting together a vacuum and vacuuming possible hairs and fibers off the floor. Toolbox. As for over here we have multiple swabs, boxes of swabs, and here we have plenty of PPE. So our blue booties, also seen on TV I'm sure. We have multiple different masks that we can wear. This is a full face mask just for a scene that maybe doesn't smell so great or there are certain chemicals out there that we probably shouldn't just be breathing in. In here we just have a miscellaneous amount of other tools and equipment that we may use. We have a tow line, we have crime scene banner, which is that typical yellow tape you'll see up at a crime scene. As for down here, more bags. And then in here we have multiple different measuring devices that we can use just depending on the scene. This one can go very long. So again scene dependent, but we're always ready for whatever. Down here we have more gunshot residue collection kits. And your tape. Over here we're going to have a Mikrosil kit. So this is going to be used for casting possible tool marks if we need to do that at all. Here we have some slide boxes. These are going to be used for any like small projectiles or like casings we may find on a scene or anything that's just super small that you need to package in. Something that also may be like broken glass, that you just don't want it to break again if you package it a different way. Smaller knife tubes. And that pretty much wraps it up for my crime scene van. Hope you liked it.
