this is State Property you have to have permission to record on state property if you want to record from the sidewalk you can do that with with no problems but once you come on property you have to interactions with government for our own safety and uh Brian has been wonderful but that other the other guy in there has been just antagonistic he's trying to cause problems he's trying to create a a story that we're working on doing records so I already turned mine in um and he's he's got a few to but that's all we were doing and it's just um we've learned from what do you call them again first first amendment Auditors okay so I don't know I think they kind of just ORD for no reason is that right I wouldn't say it's necessarily for no reason but they do generally want to see which publicly available sites follow what rules and if there are anyone that they feel is breaking their legal rights of the site though a lot of times they maybe have certain misunderstandings about when something isn't is a private property okay however if that's not what you're here to do then not really a concern that's mine yeah no we were here to do records requests but while doing our business we are we we are documenting for our own safety um you know in case something happens and and sure enough one of your security guards has really tried to create something out of this that just isn't you know he's he's called us in for I I don't even know what um trying to say that we were going into secured areas that we weren't and so do you have a point of contact with cfd that you're going with or you just coming in to do this as a walk uh just doing an open records request that's all yeah I can pass along your your concerns to Mr monis and he can speak with his officers when he returns okay and of course our records for this incident will be sent to the office okay if you want to escalate this higher you can call the office because as of right now I can't give you any feedback on what's going you know what was the call that you guys got just people recording okay so there wasn't anything any reports of people going into restricted areas no there was that used to went upstairs right but I I like know this building uh pretty well right um if there's no locked door and things like that right or I don't know there door where you guys probably wed if you went upstairs we did and and so they've got two signs when you go in there when you walk into the left Hall and the right hall there's restricted sign the reason the re and you know too the reason we went upstairs is because all it is is that one open Lobby and we have to keep our cameras on when we're doing business with the government but we don't you know we don't want to record anybody who's coming it's only the government that we so the reason we went upstairs is because it was secluded there's no customers coming in and out and it just gave us that tiny little Nook at the top of the stairs where we could set our clipboard down write our request and not be you know dis because the security guard was trying to be disruptive too and so we knew we needed they don't know how to deescalate deescalate or deal with situations with deal with humans at all humans or just individuals recording right because some people think it's scary or like oh you're you're recording me or VI like I got here body camera on oh the request yeah so I think I think we're s and honestly I was done about 10 minutes ago but I talked to Brian and said I don't want to flee the scene of a records request you know so I said he told me State Police were coming same time you're not doing anything wrong I know that we just want to know but I didn't well and I didn't want to just like take off and be like Oh I'm running from the scene of a records request get back your records right so I told them so I've been done for 10 minutes but I told them I'll just wait then since you got the police coming so I can let them know that the one security guard is disorderly you know yeah you're more happy to record out here anything um we don't need the security guard arrested today either but if you could just give them a warning about disorderly talk to him just to let him know that people recording are uh not just him her as well all of them because they don't know a lot of the State statues and um with individuals recording and who spoke to uh who spoke to the disorderly security guard guy right here bro okay just cuz only okay only reason I'm asking is cuz I I want the body cam of your interaction with him Mones monad I spoke with the Inside Man um pretty much told them your business and they told me what you guys are doing um I know you guys walked up the stairs there's nothing blocking you guys off it's public at that point they did tell me that it was for staff only but I told him I don't see anything right now that says staff only or gain blocking access to the public to understand he didn't go into any lock doors or key card access so really I mean I don't know Brian was great he I mean he was incredible he was he was a really good dude the the tall guy from the moment we got here was trying to escalate he was raising his voice he was trying to he was trying to create a problem where there wasn't one and we had to ask him multiple times to please uh stop being disorderly okay yeah I'll I'll pass on that that so we kind of kept it secure while while the security guard tried to rile people up I'll talk to to promise you guys so I wanted to go back in and make sure that the taller security guard understood what his job was and wasn't and understood that we can indeed record on State Property without permission but the place had gotten a lot busier since the time we first got here and when the police got here there were a lot of kids in there but like we said earlier we knew that these people would intentionally try to cause this scene in front of the children so I chose to leave on this day and come back on the following day before kids got out of school so that it would be just me and Brian and we could make sure he understood what his job is and isn't do you think when I come back tomorrow they will have learned anything
