police must search one who is the search warrant uh what's the apartment number here man five nine zero five nine zero so technically um we're both 590 um E Street but he's second floor left on third floor left so it's considered the third floor yeah yes officer you started on the ground floor you opened the door you walked up one flight of stairs that puts you on the second floor then you walked up another flight of stairs that puts you on the third floor but don't worry I'm not judging because I understand that for police officers counting to numbers as high as two and even three can be very difficult sometimes when you're dealing with numbers as big as these it's easier to just bust down every door in the area until you find the one that you're looking for [Applause] April 6 2023 New Haven Connecticut police approached the home of a man who's suspected of trading child pornography on Facebook the man they're looking for lives on the second floor of this apartment complex uh officers walk right past the second floor and proceed to the third floor where an innocent woman is sleeping inside of her apartment with her two kids police must search one who is the search warrant let me see your hands door that way please for the search warrant stand by is there anybody else inside this room with you no no no no why hold on no hold on one second one second yeah just one second okay we'll explain everything here okay okay hold on one second one where's Tim your your your your goal Tim the name pronounces so he's not downstairs no I do not no worries all right why standby okay all right there's currently a search warrant being executed oh [ __ ] sorry stay right there you're good okay all right hold on 26 in the back total all right [Applause] just take a deep breath okay there take a deep breath we'll explain everything that's cool okay I know I know can you pull one of those shares over for me okay yeah yeah hold on we're gonna pull a chair over here I might be sitting on this one okay dick somebody okay um okay hold on one second is there a light for this room in here it's never something fair for the time being to stay off your phone and then we'll explain everything to you okay because or another stuff to make sure everything was you know status quo and then we'll say what's going on okay so we have a search warrant we'll spend the details to you and then we'll go from there okay okay good morning you wanna come stand with your mom sure uh downstairs police then go downstairs to the correct apartment and execute their searches they had a search warrant only not an arrest warrant said the suspect stayed there in the home in four or five days later police got a call out to the apartment where the suspect had committed suicide it was considered the third floor yeah but you you would think it's the second floor because that's the first part right oh Pediatrics on the dental so the way I always thought it was sick or yeah as I said a lot of people get confused a lot of people so the Pediatric is secondly the first floor yes the Dentistry that's weird and this is and it's considered the third floor okay you see where it gets complicated yes all right so that's when we so whenever we execute a search warrant you think of that as the ground floor right then this second level is the first thing you know we were under an impression that the establishment wasn't yeah it wasn't involved was it what wasn't connected just Standalone so we were on impression this was the second floor because the business is a residential rank of it but yeah so this is technical so this is your your 590 East this third floor left yeah okay and second floor is the one right like on my rent on my on my yeah okay so that's probably how again again not okay for us to be banging your door at five o'clock in the morning so I I'm Gonna Leave You my information um if you need anything you call me we're gonna get this fixed for you and again I'm sorry uh it's probably terrifying for you so it was I'm not gonna lie no I'm freaking out that's probably the fastest my heart was ever going because I didn't know what the hell was happening so I felt like I was in a movie I was just like because I've been watching Euphoria so I was like uh you get it Arrested I'll be fine no so if you do like that don't worry well no sit down there down the road these things can pop up you know what I mean like you know when it's almost like when you get injured right when it happens you have adrenaline once the adrenaline wears off you could you know be experiencing some PTSD some people do if you do oh um this is my name again I'm Lieutenant Marshall or the Special Victims Unit this is my personal number this is my work number any issues at all arise you give me a call again apologize tremendously for waking you both up this way any issues I'll give you a call we're going to call your landlord I don't know what transpired we need a case number the search warrant execution gave me a call if you're experiencing anything we work very closely with meal child study due to the nature of the crimes we deal with so really if you do experience anything at all it can pop up a day a week a month later give us a call and want you guys to help me the police department and the mayor did extend their apologies to the victim and they did repair her door which to be honest is a lot more than most police departments do after they bust into the wrong house but it doesn't change the fact that it did happen and it shouldn't have and it happens all the time as a matter of fact this wrong house raid happened just five or six hours after New Mexico police in Farmington showed up at the wrong house and murdered the homeowner wrong house raids are becoming almost a daily occurrence with police across the United States and if it were any business in the private sector and we were having a daily problem we would immediately fix it so why don't police fix it well because they have qualified immunity which essentially means that they are not responsible or accountable for their own actions why would they change now even though most departments don't seem to be doing anything about the fact that they consistently raid wrong houses YouTube channel Shepard thinks seems to have uncovered a recording of a police training in an unknown Police Department where they are taking this seriously some departments are mandating retraining for law enforcement officers because they've been reading the wrong house numbers raiding the wrong houses and shooting people we have obtained an undercover recording of our recent police training session the video did not come through but the sound is pretty clear I hope you all had a good lunch break I know the first part of the day was a real Challenge and we didn't get many right let's say if we can do better this afternoon here are community's best cops and we're really need to work on getting those right all right class what number am I holding up right now um four nope that was a good guess Sarge but uh not quite it's 18 right no officer sorry not right well I know that one that's a nine no that's not it Lieutenant this is a number five a number five all right let's try this one what number am I holding up now one no it isn't a one um four wrong again come on guys remember what we call the one that looks like two zeros stacked on top of each other oh yeah I'm an idiot I have it now three no sorry that's not it either this is a number eight well it looks like we need to work on our single digit number recognition skills a little bit more it is good to see that some departments are taking this seriously and working on training officers to stop raiding the wrong houses and shooting the innocent homeowners
