building with our cameras here's the city hall building and this lady over here in her yard starts yelling to us says hey what are you doing and so we turn and look at her and she says I didn't say you could film me and starts losing her mind so she ran inside she was started freaking out we figure she was calling the cops so but I wanted to meet the Chief of Police so hopefully she did call the police I just want to meet the chief I'd like to ask him a couple of questions and then her husband came out and said please don't film my wife and I okay well then tell your wife not to say hey cameraman over here so there's a there was no almost Park Police out here today they were nowhere to be found which was probably a good thing so there's two cars out here we figured that they were probably here so oh there we go yeah we figured she called police oh there we go and we got San Antonio as well good you pretty good you're not gonna taste us in the back are you negative good Oh were whole gun safe with ARS I mean yeah all of them so we're not scared of guns right I am a totally support the right to bear arms but our understanding was that our city ordinance was out of code totally we didn't we didn't update it when the state passed the law for open carry and so after you guys protested on McCulloh it brought that to light to everybody so we forced a city council meeting which then immediately changed and repealed the ordinance to match the state law as did Alan Heights right so then it seems like I guess the only beef is the way that our police mistreated members of the open carry Texas right we see videos and stuff like that so we're kind of just as citizens of the neighborhood we feel like you know there's actually we can't as a personal citizen I can't go fire the fire chief you know and we have a different perspective than y'all because when we live in the neighborhood they take really good care of our kids and everything like right so we have a different I mean like they'll ring my doorbell if my garage is open and they'll on Halloween they watch all our kids and it's like a really friendly small town okay so it we're in a hard position because they love us well it's like they didn't love y'all well you know and so I don't know where their resolution lies there and I went I was out there in the middle of the rally today like hoping you know that something positive would happen nothing happened it was just a display of and it was very peaceful right but the police at Saturday and they didn't come out and I'm sure they plan not to come out yeah it was just but it seems like now all that being said it seems like now this small group is just trying to start true I don't mean to make you mad I'm just saying that we came back to see they were they were nowhere to be seen today yeah we wanted the we wanted to talk to officers almost police officers because we saw San Antonio police out here they were wonderful they were they were helping us to helping direct traffic and helping us out all that they were wonderful we didn't see any almost police and we want people want them to answer to us and and so we came out to we cannot see them and then your neighbor over here got crazy yeah so she what we were filming the police station and she says hey what are you doing it so we turned to her and point the cameras cuz and she says don't film me we're glad she called though because we're glad we're glad she called because we wanted that's we came out here to talk to the police and they didn't want to talk to us and we're not here to hurt anybody we're not and we're not here to hurt that's like northeast never even held a gun before us so it would be very very frightening to them and like they're from California they told I mean they weren't even here okay cool so my point is only that gun scare them they don't they don't but and yet when they and yet what did they do when they were scared people with guns I called people with guns and in the United States we're so blessed to think of the police as being on our side it's unlikely news but how scary is that got to be to you know I mean it only took the police three or four minutes to show up but that three or four minutes if you're genuinely if you're genuinely scared or genuinely in trouble my dad has I mean my husband we're off my whole family is is gun people responsible gun owners know I'm not scared up called the day in advance called the day in advance or we gonna how to do this yeah Chief of Police kept God's and they straight up and then he finally answered yes you're allowed to do that next day he himself tasting my back so it is up to the citizens though you guys can get down to City Hall and you can bring it yeah yeah because you love them you appreciate what they have you appreciate the good the question is do you take the good with the bad or do you just ask for new officers that will only do good I mean I understand like I always understand both sides saying like I want to understand so that I can grow I'm one like I always take the position that I could possibly be wrong do you know right we've all been wrong before at some point like what I think I'm probably an average mom we're kind of like and maybe you guys can address this and then it will help everybody is we're kind of like well y'all don't even live here which I know that sounds accusatory and I don't mean it in any rude way uh-huh but we're kind of like okay it's our little tiny neighborhood we're all like super family-oriented and we all hunt and have guns and are I mean I can't I won't even make personal comment about how much just in this block area how much ammo and you know what I mean wrong kind people so we're kind of confused about why we would be targeted and I know the business right right and a lot of people came out and spent a lot of money out in almost Park today to just like yeah we weren't it wasn't and I think one of the biggest things do we didn't want to cause harm to the city and so when that type of situation happens right we're all kind of armed for bear oh yeah we were looking for PD just now we want to talk to them we want it's your town today it's our town tomorrow and and where most of us are from Texas we're not from far yeah we didn't come from far at all some people did because we're really and this will I guess this will prove your point in a way but we are pretty active on our City Council and everything if we had an issue we would rise up and that's what no way and so we kind of feel like when you're Police Chief Constable you the problem the problem is that it's the problem is what they were doing was unconscious what they were doing was unconstitutional though and weather ordinance are no ordinance they knew it they knew so I went online I saw the videos and we in our household we were particularly interested because we live right here you're like crazy guys with guns no people just like you all with guns right person Facebook page and you know what I mean like reading everything and I looked at your Facebook page really carefully so on the arrest videos you know because I watched that your people posted them and just to share with you like a perspective not to judge you or whatever but it was like it seemed to me because the police were receiving calls left and right like that of citizens that were freaked out and so the police have to come like they did you know they have to come but they don't have to violate your rights gauged and realized we weren't breaking the law they needed to leave which they did and then they need to go educate and that they're supposed to sharpen okay and this and I don't know maybe it's not really a question of legality but more of like morality yeah maybe or more like faithfulness to the people that you serve or whatever cuz we are a tight-knit community so they're going to side with us rather than y'all because we live here but they have decided with the law and the Constitution and the nez and that was that's really the core issue and I only watch the video wasn't there in real life but they were displaying their arms whatever totally legal etc but it was in a slight nning a slightly threatening manner because that's not normal for argument it needs to be normal and that's what we're trying to push because a lot of a lot of constitutionally protected activities are so abnormal now we're losing our rights we are losing them like if some freak show but if somebody has a large firearm and they're approaching a school let me ask you this let me ask you this but they probably concealed it because they want to get to the school without getting stopped right if they're going to do damage they're gonna hide whatever they're carrying until they get to where they're going you don't need a carry permit for for a rifle but you do for a sidearm you you're cops but the cops can't but they can't ask you for it well that's just because you're carrying it no no that's like I'm all for people carrying being able to carry guns but I'm just saying like when the police approached him it was with slight suspicion that there was going to be violence so my question is would it would and this is a question would it have gone better if your guys just would have said yesterday sir here's my life no no we don't do that that's giving up rights that's giving up rights we do this see they do this with police departments all over the country and almost PARCC is the only one that is screwed up cut cities all over the country are having people open carry especially in Texas and almost PARCC is the only ones who repeatedly screwed up and then even when they knew they had broken the law and screwed up did it again and again and again you protect yourself that's why you're armed the police can't protect you you can't take away people's rights in order for to try to create safety it's an illusion then they'll never be safe then mine or yours I'm not that is true I have young children too so I'm it's not a threat you know I have young children too and if we're not willing to protect them they'll never be safe to think that the police can protect them is just plain wrong we've been told we are told that the founding of our country that anybody who will sacrifice Liberty for safety will have neither if we are gonna it's not about my you got to remember your neighbors Liberty it's not just about what I want it's about allowing my neighbors the same Liberty that I expect and I have boy girl twins that turned 21 last August we've got to get people really you have to peaceably you have a safe community though because you said so many people here are armed they say what makes your community here safe is not almost Park Police it's almost Park citizens unlike your neighbor over there who's completely unarmed but but who are they gonna call eventually when they need help they're gonna call the police or they're gonna have to call one of you exactly I were them I would get your cell phone number because you're right here actually that's how I do in my neighborhood we have neighborhood watch and a lot of us don't trust the police and so we don't call the police we call our neighbor don't my neighbor that I said anything happens call me because let me tell you let me tell you something that happen so you're passionate about this and it's on your heart to make sure that everybody knows and that you educate people so the police actually make situations more dangerous sometimes for example my house where I live used to get hit all the time robbed and vandalized we used to call the local police all the time to come out and really just take a report one time they came out and they thought that the purse that was on the property was still there but I was standing out on the driveway they pulled up and all the guns were drawn on me and I was brought down to my knees now here's the thing your neighbors know who you are and know who belong when I call the police I don't know who's gonna show up and they don't know who doesn't doesn't belong and so it made an even more dangerous situation for me and my family by calling the police than not they were smart I was hoping more almost Park citizens would be in the March I was hoping we would have a big turnout from the city so hey how y'all doing no that's your right to do that it doesn't matter you're on your own property - you're on your property no like I said if somebody wanted to hurt somebody you know somebody's not gonna walk up to a school walk a mile with an ar-15 strapped and it's draws attention if they're gonna do harm they're gonna conceal it they're gonna hide it they're gonna get to where they're doing it they're gonna do what they're not main gun owners the problem they would be known yeah thank you for talking with us hey can we yet can I ask you a quick question we're putting the camera that way how do you feel about the almost Park Police Department and the events that have taken place as a resident well first of all I love you almost mark place for me truly I do yeah that's what she was saying they serve our community perfectly I think this whole situation is very complicated and and I don't I get very nervous yeah me too and so I just think and my daughter plays lacrosse too but yeah start to like kind of like a little bit and I don't really see a need for a lot of the stuff that's going on but at some point of view I'm a huge gun owner remove huge support of the Second Amendment but I don't need to put in anyone's face yeah I think I think a lot of these guys who are doing it though they do it for the same reason you go to the gym and work out you don't need to lift these weights right it's like you're not accomplishing anything you push the weight up it comes back down you're exercising though right and you're getting stronger and then when you need that muscle it's there and so I totally get what you're saying cuz I I don't open carry I conceal carry because you're the biggest target if you're open carrying and somebody walks into a bank to rob it who's the first person they're gonna take out the guy who openly has a firearm to defend himself yeah all right yeah yeah but that's just me just my nonsensical how do you hey we appreciate you all
