Hey, you almost didn't see me standing there, did you? For a motorcyclist on the road, that's a big problem. Drivers miss motorcycles every day, even when they're looking. Motorcyclists blend right into the environment the way that cars don't, all right? As a rider though, you've got more control over things than you think. Wear bright colors or wear something that you can be seen in. During the day, wear something bright. At night time, consider wearing something reflective. It helps tremendously. Also, in group rides, stagger your formation. Don't ride side by side, very dangerous, all right? And also, when approaching an intersection, or if you happen to see a vehicle getting ready to pull out onto the roadway, wave your motorcycle a little bit. What that does is it breaks up the camouflage behind you and allows you to be seen. The best thing you can do though is get more training. I don't care if you've been riding 20 years, more training is going to help, all right? Ride Smart Florida is a great resource to go to. They list all the trainings throughout the state of Florida, that's fantastic. Also, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, that's where you got your motorcycle endorsement from. They are fantastic. They have a lot of great advanced rider courses that you can take. And also, the Tampa Police Department. They offer a civilian motorcycle class and it's absolutely free. You can't go wrong with that, okay? So, if you're a motorcycle rider, be visible, be trained, and be seen.
