hello i'm joe mar hooper executive director at safe and sound this year marks the 72nd annual crime prevention awards which honors public safety officials and milwaukee residents that have had a positive impact on their community today i am pleased to present michael ward and fabian garcia with the award for outstanding community liaison officers together michael and fabian have become an integral part of the community that they serve they have gone above and beyond in their roles by assisting residents in their free time delivering meals during the quarantine making regular check-ins with youth centers and leading community cleanups and more within the community in the words of one of the residents they serve the pandemic may have stopped the world but these guys never stop serving the community thank you for all that you do for milwaukee michael and fabian thank you thank you so i just like to thank everyone for this award it's a great honor to be nominated and to be a recipient of the award i'd like to thank captain ryastra sergeant mcbride and lieutenant gladwell for allowing us to do what we do in our community they give us a lot of support and a lot of leeway to be a part of the community and take that time but i also like to thank the community itself they allow us to be a part of their daily lives they allow us to be a part of their families part of the plan that they have for their community and so without them this ward wouldn't even be around so we really appreciate the community the support that they give us and again thank you i also just want to thank everyone to make this possible it is an honor to have received uh this award and again um a thank you to captain restaurant sergeant mcbride lieutenant gladwell for allowing me to come to this position and work with such a great partner ups reward um that we're able to reach out to the community and help the best way we can it's an honor and again thank you to all our community partners and we just have an amazing uh community in district six overall so thank you so much [Music] [Music] you
