On July 2nd, 2019, an officer was conducting foot patrol on a bridge when he encountered a man fishing. How you doing? Good. Sheriff's office. How you doing, man? How's the fishing tonight? Okay. >> So, I mean, give or take might be like half or sorry, quarter of of an inch off or something like that, but My measurement, I mean, I thought they were legal. Uh, Were there any that were undersized? >> None of these are legal legal. They're all undersized. Okay. That is not at the appropriate measuring device. Okay. Got you. Okay. All right. Um, the that mangrove right there, do you do you do you know what fish that was? This one here? Uh, what, the fish? Uh, no, was not aware. Okay. Do you know what this is? Uh, that right there is a stone crab claw. Okay. Do you have a license to harvest stone crab? Was not aware that you needed a license for harvesting. >> So, stone crab, lobster, yeah, you do need to have a a license to harvest. Okay. Got you. And I believe it might be out of season as well, okay? So, we're going to check up on that now. So, you don't have you don't have a lobster permit, you have undersized lobster, you have undersized mangrove snapper, you have stone crab as well. Okay, you don't have a permit to to harvest it, okay? We're out of season right now. Season doesn't start right now until the big season doesn't start until August 5th. Okay, August 6th. Uh So, and we're about to hit our mini season. It's going to be in near the end of July. Okay. >> mini season? Yes. Okay. Were you aware we had a mini season? I was not aware of that either, no.
