Some moments in law enforcement are so intense they feel like scenes straight out of a movie. Today, we're diving into the craziest moments when cops faced off with criminals in real life encounters that will leave you speechless. Shoot him. >> Get out of your back now. >> Three. Oh, put it down. Put it down. >> Put it down. New Brunswick, New Jersey. In the early hours of August 8th, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., New Brunswick Police Department officers were called to an apartment complex on Neielson Street after a 911 caller reported that a female resident, later identified as 68-year-old Deborah Terrell, was causing a disturbance. Officers attempted to speak with Terrell, but she refused to engage with them or open her apartment door. At 7:32 a.m., police were dispatched to the same location following another 911 call reporting that Terrell had been going in and out of her apartment and allegedly threatening neighbors with a knife. Responding officers requested emergency medical services to remain on standby for a possible evaluation while they proceeded to the scene. Upon arriving at 7:38 a.m. officers spoke with witnesses who confirmed that Terrell had been seen holding a large knife. Police then went upstairs to her apartment. At approximately 7:41 a.m., they knocked on her door, which Terrell opened while holding a knife. After being told to drop it, she closed the door, locked it, and moved the knife back and forth under the door. Officers attempted to talk to her, during which she claimed another man was inside. When asked to have him speak with police, she refused and went silent. Officers continued knocking and trying to reestablish contact as Terrell shouted inside and again slid the knife under the door several times. At one point, she opened the door, pointed the knife toward officers, then closed it again. Police regrouped, assigning officers to lethal and less lethal roles. [Applause] [Music] Hello. Is anybody else in there with you? >> You man with you. Come out. Can we talk to you? Can we talk to you? >> All right. Come through the door, too. [Music] Open the door. >> Come on. Come on. You want to come talk to us? Hey, Dra. How you doing? Deborah. Hey Deborah. How you doing? This brother police report. Hey Deborah. Der [Applause] All right. Where are you? Hey Deborah. Hey Deborah. You mind if we come in? Hey, Deborah. [Applause] Come on. What's going on? Come on. >> Yeah. Come on. Come on. >> Never. Come on. Talk to us. >> Nobody want to hurt you. Why are you trying to hurt us? >> Let us know you. Hey. Hey, come on out. >> Hey, Dra. Dra. trying to talk. [Music] [Applause] How about this side? Get out. Get out. [Applause] Okay. Okay. Shortly after, Terrell stepped into the hallway with the knife, telling officers, "Come on." Police deployed pepper spray and a taser. Terrell retreated momentarily, but then advanced toward officers with the knife in hand. One officer discharged his firearm twice, striking her. Officers provided first aid until Terrell was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A 12-in knife was recovered from the scene. Authorities did not release the officer's names, citing threats made against them. >> Brooklyn, NY. On the evening of August 12th, 2025, around 7:30 p.m., a confrontation broke out between 22-year-old Eddie Nessen Baoui and another man outside 533 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn. During the altercation, both men pulled out firearms and began shooting at each other. While the gunfire was ongoing, police officer Lopez and police officer Ortiz Banila, who were patrolling the area in a marked NYPD vehicle, responded to the scene. As they approached, Bodui continued firing at the other man before attempting to run away. In response, officer Lopez discharged his weapon 16 times while officer Ortiz Banila fired three shots, hitting Bodi. He was taken into custody and transported by ambulance to NYC Health Plus Hospital/Kings County where he received medical treatment. The second shooter fled but was later arrested. Bodi now faces federal charges for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Get shot fired. 533 Ocean shot fired. 5. [Applause] [Music] On March 27th, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded in Ozone Park, Queens, when NYPD officers responded to a 911 call involving 19-year-old Win Rosario, reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis. Bodywn camera footage later revealed that upon entering the residence, officers encountered Rosario holding a pair of scissors. They first deployed a taser, causing him to drop the weapon. But after he picked it up again, a second taser was used before officers fired multiple shots, fatally wounding him within 2 minutes of their arrival. >> Where's your dad? >> He's not home. >> So, who did I speak to on the phone? >> I think it was my mom. >> No, I spoke to a guy. >> He called on himself. >> Yeah. >> I don't think so. I on drugs? >> I don't believe. >> Is he diagnosed or anything? Uh, I'm not sure. >> All right. >> Second floor. >> Hello. What's up, pal? >> Anybody else in the house? >> Yo. Yo. [Music] >> Whoa. I'm not going to, but please, you know, >> don't give me another call. >> Miss, get away. >> Get away. [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Get out of the way. >> Get out of the way. >> Get out of the way. >> My mom. Get her out of the way. >> Get her out of the way now. A no no sel get >> Rosario was rushed to a local hospital but pronounced dead shortly after. The incident sparked outrage among family members in the community with his mother, Notan Eva Costa, alleging officers escalated rather than deescalated the situation and used excessive force in a crisis that required compassion and mental health intervention, not lethal weapons. In May 2024, Attorney General Leticia James released the body cam footage as part of the Office of Special Investigations probe, emphasizing transparency without assigning blame. However, criticism mounted over NYPD's handling of mental health emergencies as data showed rising violence in such encounters. On June 23rd, 2025, Rosario's family filed a federal lawsuit against the city and involved officers accusing them of civil rights violations, mistreatment of family members during the aftermath, and demanding termination, prosecution, and systemic reforms in how law enforcement responds to mental health crisis. Anybody else in the house? Uh uh uh uh uh [Music] >> let go of him and back up. Let go. >> Why not? Tell the [ __ ] out of the way. Get out of the way now. Now. >> Get away from him. >> Miss. I'm not going to, but >> don't miss. Get away. >> Get away. >> Get out of the way. [Applause] >> Get down. Get down. Get >> down now. Get out of the way. >> Get out of the way. >> Get out of the way. >> Get her out of the way. >> I'm so sorry. >> Get her out of the way now. >> No. No. No. No. >> Put it down. >> Put it down. Head shot. >> Hands behind your back now. >> Vancouver, Washington. On May 14th, 2025, Vancouver police officers encountered a man with multiple outstanding warrants in the Meadow Homes neighborhood. When officers approached, the man ran, carrying his dog across several lanes of traffic. The dog became highly aggressive, snarling and lunging at officers as they attempted to detain the man. During the confrontation, the suspect refused to follow commands, pulled out a knife, and appeared to be attempting to stab the dog. Before he could do so, an officer deployed a taser, causing him to drop the weapon. >> There you go. >> There we go. [Applause] >> Shoot my dog. It's not going to cuff. She does today. I do it with you. >> Hey, don't hurt your dog. >> Oh, no. Taser, you go less lethal. Tas you don't put that down. >> Hands behind your back now. >> Code three. Hands behind your back. You're going to get tased again. >> Roll over. Put your hands behind your back. AMR, we got a taser deployment. Hand behind your back now. >> Hand behind your back or you're going to get tased. >> The man was then permitted to safely secure his dog inside a patrol vehicle before being taken into custody. He was booked into jail on charges including the outstanding warrants, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and animal cruelty. Animal control later took possession of the dog. Sacramento, California. In the early morning hours of July 14th, 2025, around 1:30 a.m., Sacramento police officers were dispatched to the 3,100 block of Accidental Drive after receiving a call about a disturbance involving a weapon. The caller, later identified as the suspect, stated he was armed with a sword and intended to kill his friend. By 1:45 a.m., officers located the man outside his home holding the sword. They immediately began attempting to deescalate the situation and called for crisis negotiators to assist. For roughly 30 minutes, negotiators tried to persuade the suspect to drop the weapon. Despite repeated efforts, the suspect eventually stood up, drew the sword from its sheath, and advanced toward officers while swinging it. At that point, officers used less lethal options, but the suspect continued moving toward them. An officer then discharged their firearm, striking the suspect at least once. The man was detained, and officers provided emergency medical aid until the Sacramento Fire Department transported him to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition. He is expected to face charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and resisting arrest.
