Hands up! Don't move! GET ON THE GROUND! LAY DOWN ON THE GROUND NOW! >> WHAT BEGAN AS a reported shoplifting incident in Palm Coast, Florida, quickly turned into a police pursuit. After allegedly fleeing from officers, three suspects found themselves trapped inside a vehicle after it crashed into a retention pond. Multiple body cams captured what happened next. >> Come here. They're heading out to US, or excuse me, 100 now. They have to make a right-hand turn heading towards Belle Terre. >> Deputies have been called to the shopping center after three people were reportedly seen shoplifting from Bath & Body Works and TJ Maxx. When the first officer arrived, two women ran toward a waiting Toyota. As the driver backed out, the vehicle nearly struck the officer before speeding away. >> It's about 500 ft. 35, maybe you turn around and go back towards 100. First character is a Bravo, last is a Sierra. Coming back out on the 100, going to be make going east. Going to be going east on 100. We have 6000 dealership. I got 6000 dealership. >> He's coming up in the right lane right now. Coming up to Dodge now. I'm going to run her stuff really quick. >> After all three suspects were taken into custody, deputies continued investigating the Toyota. According to investigators, they found merchandise allegedly stolen from the Palm Coast stores, along with additional bags and merchandise from other retailers, and a device believed to be used to remove anti-theft tags. The three suspects were ultimately booked on multiple charges. Gerald Jenkins faced charges including assault on a law enforcement officer and possession or use of an anti-shoplifting device, while Amanda Wright and Tierra Gaylord also faced theft, resisting, and anti-shoplifting device charges.
