Officers searched the area and eventually tracked down their mother, Emily Sabagal. >> Sunrise police, Emily, are you in here? Sunrise police, Emily, are you in here? >> When the police confronted her, she had some serious explaining to do. >> Take your hands out your pockets for me. You have two kids? Do you know where you left them at? Where did you leave them at? Where were you Where were you going? Huh? So, you were just going to leave the Uber and walk home? I understand that, but your number one priority should be your kids. Okay. Talk to us. So, explain to me. So, your kids were at karate here. From here, you guys got in the Uber. Do you remember What color was the car or what Do you remember the body style of the car? White car? Okay. So, you guys leave here in the Uber. Where was the destination from here? Did you at at any point tell the Uber driver to go somewhere else, a different route? Okay. That's not answering my question. At any point did you tell the Uber driver to detour your route out away from your house, somewhere else? >> I don't mean to like be an [ __ ] or be like mean but like yeah, my phone was dead. >> Yeah. But what does that have to do with the Uber getting you to your home if you already had your address? >> Cuz I don't have my actual phone. I don't have my car. I don't have like I'm not in control of my situation. I'm with my kids. >> You deserted your kids for 2 hours. That's what's going on. That Uber driver's been sitting with your kids waiting for you to come back for the past 2 hours. >> You know what that sounds like? Honestly, like what probably happened cuz I don't have my phone. I just fixed my phone. >> Why did you get out of the Uber? No no response no answer for that? But you're not answering my question. Why did you get out of the Uber? >> I get it 100%. Listen, like it's like from morning to night time like I have to make sure it happen for all of that. Cuz right now I don't have a car, okay? And it it sucks. It's not an excuse but that's me being [ __ ] real with you to be honest with you. And it sucks. It sounds [ __ ] stupid that I shouldn't have a car. >> So you're saying the reason you left them in the Uber is cuz you don't have a car? >> It's not that I don't have a car. It's just my phone died. >> Okay. >> There was multiple stops. They were here at the the karate place. Like I just signed them up for karate. >> Okay. Okay. >> And like we were going to go home and like it just I don't know how to even reach the Uber guy or whatever because my phone was like dead. I don't have the charger. Like you guys can do whatever you want. >> I understand and I get that but I'm I'm having a hard time understanding why you got out of the Uber in the first place. And you're not answering that question for me. I'm Listen, I'm not being an [ __ ] These are just These are legit These are legit answers that we need. >> are legit like questionnaires that you should be asking Melissa. And unfortunately, yes, my kids stayed in the car with the Uber person. >> Were the multiple stops for you or was he the Uber was >> Multiple stops as in like personal Like innocent personal stops, bro. >> You mean like stops at like stop signs and uh red lights or like he was destination stops where he was picking somebody up or something up? >> I'm trying to be an [ __ ] but bro, I wouldn't be in multiple stops at an Uber. >> I'm just I'm still trying to get to the answer of why you got out of the Uber. >> I get it. I get it. 100%. >> And which way is home? It's that way, isn't it? >> Commercial and University. >> How did you guys end up all the way over there at 108th and 50th? That's the complete opposite way of where your home is. So, if he had no other destinations, what brought you guys over there? >> I'm not feeling like Listen, I have not done anything wrong. I have no idea what is going on. I'm sorry. I get where you're I get your job. I get your whole persona. I get it. I feel you. 100%. I'm just a mom. I just want to see my I want to go home, to be honest with you. And yes, I felt very vulnerable not knowing where my kids where my kids were at cuz my phone was dead. I couldn't reach the the guy that was giving me a ride. And it is what it is. That's the truth. That is the honest truth. Like that is like as real as I could [ __ ] get, to be honest with you. I don't mean to curse, but it is what it is, bro. I have learned to be honest with my [ __ ] And you know what? Yes, it sucks and I know where my kids were at. My kids are everything to me, my life. I signed them up for karate. I don't have a [ __ ] car. I [ __ ] got picked up from my job. [ __ ] drive here, there, drop them off. [ __ ] sucks. >> All right, the law requires that you be advised of these rights prior to answering any questions or making a statement. You have the right to remain silent. I don't want any more. I even said, "If you come back in here, I will call the cops and have you trespassed because you're not listening." At one point, the kids are running around. Enough is enough. You got to go. >> So, she She So, she she came here earlier with kids? With With two little ones? What time was that when she Just It doesn't have to be exact but >> I don't know. Earlier. >> Yeah. Does she go outside and or does she go to her next place? >> I She doesn't have a car. >> Okay. >> After her arrest, Sabagala was taken to the station, where officers completed the booking process and paperwork. The body camera footage continues through the process before finally cutting off as she's placed back into a police vehicle and taken into custody. But, the story didn't end there. Sabagala was later released on bond and faced two child neglect charges, while the children's father said he planned to seek full custody. But, what do you think? Was the arrest justified and what should happen next? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one.
