We're still don't know what's going on. No one will tell us anything. >> That's right. I have a registration. I have a right to carry everything. >> What is going on everybody? This is the body cam footage from the 2023 arrest of WWE star Sonya DeVille. She was arrested for a gun charge in Atlantic City. Authorities charged Daria Berenato, aka Sonya DeVille, for unlawful possession of a weapon. She left the firearm in the car with the valet. You can't get dumber than that. >> [music] >> We still don't know what's going on. No one will tell us any details. No one will tell us any details. >> Oh, so >> That's right. I I have a registration. I have a right to carry everything. >> Which which state? >> Florida. >> It doesn't It doesn't apply to every state. >> It's not reciprocal to the state of New Jersey. >> No. >> I just drove that truck up from Florida like 2 weeks ago. I live in Florida. Yeah, I have everything with me. >> Can you show us? >> Is the valet allowed to search my car? To go through my personal belongings? >> Well, >> I mean, that's a whole separate issue, but like >> Yeah, I don't I don't know why >> Yeah, that's it. No, I have all the information for it. I was talking Okay. Okay. I need to like take out all my stuff. >> Hey man, you just drive here all the way from Florida? >> to get my flight last minute from Florida back to Kansas and I had to get home for my kids. So she's late getting them all driving back. So the only reason my car is up here. >> So yeah, guys, she lives in Florida and she's in New Jersey. Obviously, the gun laws are different in New Jersey. It's your responsibility to know what the gun laws are for whatever state you're traveling into. Now, that being said, if you're going to take a firearm that you legally own in Florida and it may not be legal for you to carry in New Jersey, the last thing you should do is leave the gun in the car when you valet your car. That's just stupid. You shouldn't do it in Florida, let alone in New Jersey. You shouldn't be leaving your gun with the valet. That is just irresponsible, in my opinion at least. >> You guys were just about to leave, right? You ordered the car and then >> They lost our valet ticket so they looked through my car to find my registration or insurance card. Just giving you if you wanted to ask me where was my car, but they wouldn't give me my car. Prove it was my car. And I'm like, just look at my registration. They're like, we already did. I'm like, you went through my car? They're like, yeah, we found something and the cops are on their way. And I'm like, what? What the [ __ ] is going on? >> I guess they don't let they don't When When did When did you guys check in? I believe it was yesterday. So whoever was working probably didn't recognize you in the car and they had to make sure at least first that they're giving the car back to the person. >> it was really weird because they actually went to the hotel another hotel this morning in the car, came back when we were just checking out. We just had a running real quick. We asked them, "Can we just leave the car in the front for 5 minutes? We're going to run in." So, they said, "Yeah." We ran in, ran back out, and they were like, "Oh, sorry, we had to move your car. We had to go park downstairs." But, we didn't have a ticket or anything for it. So, when we came They were like, "Just go downstairs and talk to the parking people." So, we came down here, and they had a whole like lost car situation, and that's why they went through the car. >> Are you not You're not law enforcement at all? >> No. [music] What Okay, what actually happened was I wrestle for WWE. >> Okay. >> 3 years ago, a fan broke into my house and tried to kill me. >> Do you have a cell? >> All over the news and everything. I bought a Rottweiler, entirely trained, and I bought myself a gun. Never used the gun whatever. Learned how to shoot it, got my license. Wasn't Wasn't supposed to have my Ranger over here. Drove it because your kids had school the next day. She had to drive them with her flight at 10:00, but forgot the Didn't even think about the gun being in the car and not being able to come here. >> Yeah. >> Just drove my car here with my gun, and didn't think twice about it, to be honest. >> Yeah. Like New Jersey, we don't reciprocate permits to carry from other >> Only >> And other from other states. Like we don't Like a lot of cuz we're it's a like more of like a liberal democratic state. >> I'm born and raised here. >> Yeah. >> My hometown is 2 minutes away. >> Yeah. I just Not even like down south? >> Or you have to have a permit to carry in every single different state. >> Oh, really? >> As far as I know. >> With permits to carry, every state has different regulations. You have to terminate in every state. >> Some states you don't need a permit at all. Some states you do. So, the states that you need a permit, you would have to get it for the state. >> I know my My right to carry I got the registration through the sheriff of West Palm Beach County in Florida. >> Your right to carry ends at the Florida line now. >> He said, cuz I travel for work every week. He said I can pack it in my suitcase [music] in a lock box with everything separated, and take it with me on the road. And he gave me a list of like 17 states or something. >> When you have it in that box like that, >> Each state has different requirements. The box has the gun going to be completely locked up in the box. >> So you can't carry it. >> Yeah, ammo ammo or gun reaching distance of the driver or passenger of the vehicle. >> No, okay. >> So you As long as you have the legal right to do it. >> Right. >> This is how you carry it across state. >> Okay. >> Some states allow you to just have it right in the waistband and go. Other states are like No, no, no, it has to be stored You got to you got to watch out for >> That's great. >> [music] >> That's my biggest assumption. Take her in for some minutes and the week's not going to get the gun. So what is How is it What is the status of the weapon? >> Um >> Is it loaded? >> As far as like like >> in a locked box? Is it in a case? >> I think it's just I think it's just out. I'm I'm actually going to take a look at it. >> Take a look at that first. >> Yeah. >> [music] >> It's right here. >> Where is it? >> Hey, we got four lanes now. >> Oh, where is it, bro? >> I'm sorry. Um it's in the glove compartment. >> Oh, it's concealed in a It is uh it's Yeah, it's loaded. center thing Uh you found it? >> Uh no, actually. >> Got it. >> It's uh I'm the shift manager. One of my drivers they >> Uh which driver? Oh, yeah. Sure. >> Yeah, I got >> You got a nice picture of that. Um Hey, what's up, sergeant? Oh, um I already talked to uh Moya. But uh it was just uh Brigada. She violated her car. Uh she lost her ticket. So they're were just trying to verify her information and uh in her glove box uh it was a handgun. She's a She's She has She's licensed out of Florida. Yeah, um stuff like that, but I'm thinking just taking her in on a summons. I'm uh valet. Uh you said what reason, right? They um they Yeah, so since she lost her um her ticket, they needed to check like her like an insurance and all that other stuff like to to to double-check that it's her or some [ __ ] like that. Uh she had the license on I believe. She like they they never told her like what happened. Like they just told her, "Oh, you can't get your car." And they never told her they went through her car either. That's Yeah. >> Well, that was the driver. I'm sorry. >> All right. >> What's up, bro? >> Um Matthew. >> Matthew. >> I'm going to start from the beginning. >> So, from the beginning um I actually parked that car as well. I came upstairs and um one of my co-workers who was working upstairs handed me a fresh ticket. So, a ticket that had not had the lower part, which is the guest's copy receipt to that. It was brand new and a key and he said, "Hey, can you park this car?" So, I did, brought it down, I banked the keys and I locked it up because I knew it would become a lost ticket. The guest would be expected to fill out a form. That's just the protocol on that. Then I'm just going back to doing the carpet cars and then my one manager was like, "Hey, he had the lost ticket." He's like, "Can you run this, please?" And I realized like, "Okay, it's that one." So, go back and I I go to open the glove where I get inside, you know, open it up with the key, put the key in the cup holder just cuz I knew I had to do that with delivery and then I went to into the glove box to to get like any documents or anything and I pulled out the manual for the car, so the leather bound dealer's manual or whatever, and on top of that was a little air freshener. I put that on the seat and then I like went to go like see if there was another card that was like the registration and then I saw the little handgun in a holster. >> So I just stopped. Luckily I had another coworker who's actually the overnight supervisor here who's parking right next to me. I said, "Hey man, there's there's gun in here." He's like, "All right." And he called my management and stuff and we started that process. >> All right, cool. So So we knew it was like a lost ticket from the beginning or not a lost ticket but >> Well, like >> the the ticket situation was [ __ ] up from the beginning. >> And we knew that. >> Yeah. So cool. So when you got in the car, you knew it was [ __ ] up so you was grabbing the uh >> the key. I pulled the keys and bagged it just because I know when you do [clears throat] have one of those if if a guest goes inside and like just misses us, the protocol is, "Hey, make a new ticket for the car so it can go into the system and then bag it so that when the guest comes back, the cashier already knows to start doing that for them." >> Yeah. Um So uh um So boom. So So when you All right. You got the keys, you're bringing it back, and you go in the glove box because you know she needs that information. >> Yeah, I like to match it ahead of time that way by the time I get to the guest so I just have to check the ID. >> All right, cool. Cool. Cool. >> And usually you know that stuff is in the glove box. >> Okay. >> Yeah. ruin anybody's day over something like this but it's >> Yeah. All right, cool. >> I've been here a long time. I know how it works. >> Yeah. So all right. So you were going in there cuz you knew she wasn't going to have the thing. So you you was just trying to verify before you got there. So if no gun was in there, you were able to verify you would just give her the the keys no problem. >> Yeah, as soon as I see that I have a matching name and address to the paperwork that I checked from the that's in the vehicle then yeah, that they're they're good to go. >> All right, cool. All right. All right. >> Appreciate it, man. >> All right, yep. >> All right, So pretty much what happens is we we go pick up the gun. Um our our department picks up the gun. We take you in for Yes, lock up to the police station. But you get released on a summons. So you'll be out like in [ __ ] 2 hours. But we have to charge you. Possession of a weapon. In New Jersey, nobody can have a weapon unless you're law enforcement like he explained. >> So you have to lock me up? >> Mhm. I have to give you a summons. You don't have a criminal history, right? Yeah, so you get a summons. You'll be out like in 2 hours. >> Will I get a felony on my record? >> No. No. No, you would talk to the judge. Whatever the judge decides cuz you are licensed for it. So [snorts] >> Anything on my record? Will this ever show anywhere? >> If this if you're found guilty, then yeah, it will show, but you probably won't. >> They're saying they're going to lock me up for 2 hours. >> Maybe longer, maybe shorter. Are you want to You want to take our car? >> I got to call him to do that. >> Uh >> I just talked to him. I don't know. You told me I don't know how to search. >> Yeah. Uh so our officer he's going to come and grab the gun. And then once he grab that, then you can uh come down here. So I just give the keys to her. What we're doing. It's like somebody All right. Status. All right. >> We uh have this sign where it says we will check the information before we let you go. >> Um could you make me a copy of this or >> Absolutely. Yes. >> All right. >> Do you want to >> Okay. Talk to the prosecutor. Mhm. Give it to Give it to her first and then take uh take her in for a summons. >> And then the office >> I didn't I didn't let you know. >> She's like a WWE wrestler. She looks like she's on the moon. And he said like 16. >> Yeah, I'll let Frank know. So So they found it? >> Yeah, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Frank had had dealt with like Ray Rice and nobody was aware. >> Yeah. Yeah, I'll let him know. >> Yeah, she should be fine now. >> All right. All [music] right. We'll get the girl. >> Yeah, we can leave her now. >> Yeah, yeah, I'll walk up there. I don't I mean if you got to do it I'll come for up there. Is that [music] what you mean? >> Yeah. >> Instead of walking her all the way >> Yeah, I don't know. Do it like kind of discreetly. >> Yeah, I don't even want to Yeah. >> All right. Um yeah, we'll go upstairs. All right, cool. >> You guys have the address? >> I I wouldn't I would just let her take it to the car because they might have to put all that in evidence and who knows if we'll get it back. >> You don't have a ton. >> Yeah. >> Why are you going through my personal phone? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Which parking lot is this one? >> Uh this is the first one up there. This All right, so how do you do it? You just go This ID. All right. And what? >> And he said you don't have to put them on. >> Who said that? >> Down there. >> I told her, but if you're not from >> Really? >> Oh, all right, all right, cool. No, it's all good. >> It's up to you if you want >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good one? Yeah. Yeah. No. Oh, you secure? >> So this is the part where they take her to the lockup. Obviously she eventually got released and I think this just this case just kind of got settled and thrown out. >> And then just uh put her back over here. Just stand right there. Um we're going to be in and out. Um Yeah. We we We we going to help We going to help you as much as we can. Yeah. >> Wait, am I sending her for >> No. No. No. No. No, that's just for the people. Yeah. Yeah. That that's Yeah. >> How is that even a thing? Like what? Even if you I got you. It's just one of those things. >> Yeah. Yeah, we'll we'll figure it out. We'll get it figured out. Oh, Brigada. Yeah. Who did you say? >> You want to come? >> No. No. I was hoping one was down here. >> No, I asked him to come. He's here. >> Okay. My bad when you Um who's working today? Lena? Okay. Okay. >> [laughter] >> Probably 604 could you drop her female sooner? I'll figure it out. Yeah. I'm sorry. 30. Uh is this a good address for you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Well, are you guys going to get paperwork and get some there? >> Oh yeah, probably. >> So it's my Florida house. I'm not there that much. >> Okay. All right. Okay. I'll I'll take that one. Hey, what's up? Yeah. No. So >> What else to go in there? >> Only you can only have one layer of clothes on. So it's just just a just just a shirt. Any Yeah, just a shirt. Um one layer of pants, of course. The shoes, laces have to come out. >> The laces? >> The laces. Some people give the whole shoe. Yeah. >> Does this have to fit in the bag? >> Uh yes. I can give you a whole another bag too, if you need it. Uh you know what? If I'll I'll just throw that in the locker at the end. Can you just want to sit that to the side somewhere? I'll uh Uh >> Okay, so I can do it for me with my whole shoe with the laces? >> Or or the laces, yeah. Yo, uh Um Leah's here. Leah. Okay. 29, right? >> Uh 29. Uh 291. Wait, what? 29? >> Oh, I'm sorry about that. Yeah, 29. Okay. >> Hi, how you doing? Hi. >> Oh, congratulations to you. >> Thank you. Um take your watch off for me. Um put your phone in the bag for me, please. Any other jewelry you have on you? And then your hair tie when you get a chance as well. >> My hair tie? >> Yeah, please. And one layer clothing, so your shirt. >> Oh, what's up? That's your reflection. Oh, hey. >> Who that? Who that? Who that? Who that? >> It's your favorite person. >> What's up? >> [laughter] >> I don't know if she knows she's famous. >> I know. She's famous. Do you have more pants underneath here? >> No, no. >> What pants? Just turn your face up for me, please. No. Okay. Can I follow the foot? >> Thank you. >> And then just butterfly your pockets. Okay. And do you have any tattoos on you? >> And that's where the video ends. Guys, let me know in the comments below, what do you think of that law where if you own a gun in one state, >> [music] >> doesn't matter for the people of New Jersey. They They consider you They don't consider that legal in their state. What do you guys think of that? You guys agree with that or >> [music] >> you guys find that against the Second Amendment? Me personally, I don't own a gun. I don't really care. I don't give a [ __ ] about New Jersey. I'll probably never go there. Anyway, thank you guys for watching. Uh I'll see you guys in the next video. Peace.
