Taser, taser, taser. >> On May 21st, 2023, Joliet, Illinois, Officer Ryan Johnson responds to a Walmart parking lot after not one, but two 911 calls about a man throwing things at cars and jumping towards strangers' vehicles' windows. What starts as a simple welfare check turns into a fight, a taser deployment, and an aggravated battery charge against a police officer, all caught on body cam right in the middle of a crowded Walmart parking lot. >> Sir. If I pull up If I pull up, he's right there. >> In the chaos of the scuffle, Rodriguez didn't walk away unscathed. He suffered injuries in the scuffle with Officer Johnson, and paramedics were called to the scene. He'd be transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment before eventually being taken into custody. >> All right. You want to act like a man, you get treated like a man. And then I seen that you were walking. I seen her walking and I [ __ ] but Do you know what she wanted to do me? >> What? She wanted What's going on everybody? So, this one was a wild one. Um I have the police report here pulled up and uh he was charged with aggravated battery of a police office of a peace officer, policing volunteer fireman, security officer, no minor injuries, no dangerous weapons. So, off camera this dude must have hit a security guard too and a fireman. Maybe he was charged with the the fire rescue team like he was uh Yeah, maybe that's probably what he was charged. Uh resisting and obstructing a peace officer, firefighter, or correctional institute employee and resisting and obstructing a peace officer, firefighter, correctional institution employee. So, yeah, he he got some charges. I've also got um Here's our boy. There he is right there. This is a mugshot. Here's an article on the whole thing. I'll read a little bit of it to you. A 30-year-old man from Chicago was arrested in Joliet Walmart parking lot Sunday afternoon after Joliet police say Miguel Rodriguez was jumping on cars and throwing things while under the influence of alcohol. If only we had the footage of that. There was a lot of blurred out security footage that I didn't even bother showing in the asset protection office. Um everything was blurred. You couldn't see anything. I I didn't I didn't want to waste your times with it. Um the Chicagoan is now in Will County Jail where he's charged with aggravated battery of a peacekeeper and all that stuff I read to you. So, yeah. That is our guy. That is Miguel.
