On March 22nd, 2025, officers were dispatched to a restaurant after receiving a serious report that a woman wanted for money laundering and the theft of several million dollars from a law firm had finally been located. What officers didn't know was that the person who made the call that day was her own boss. After months of searching for the employee who had allegedly stolen millions from his company, he unexpectedly spotted her dining at an upscale restaurant and immediately contacted police. In this body cam footage, you'll see exactly how officers tracked down, confronted, and exposed one of Florida's most prolific fraudsters. >> I'm a bartender here. I'm going to verify definitely in Palm Beach, but something out of Broward. I just got to >> I don't have an outstanding ticket in Broward. I I just since I lost my job with him, I haven't been able to pay it. And >> Gotcha. >> It's a long story. I didn't have We lost our apartment. I've been living in a hotel for the past 6 months. So, I didn't have the money to do anything. >> Okay. >> Nothing illegal on you at all? >> Oh, absolutely not. >> No guns? >> No. >> No drugs? >> No. >> None of that stuff? Okay. >> So, after >> S. I'mma take this of your stuff real quick. >> Could I just hit my Oh, wait a minute. I do. >> I'm going to let you do all that stuff soon as we I got to release him. >> Can I just hit this real quick cuz I need it for my nerves. >> Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Okay. >> I mean, you can't go to the jail with that. Oh, okay. It's going to go in that going in the traffic. >> Uh, he place his cuffs on me in the front. Okay, we're just It is what it is. I got a bunch of cuffs. >> Oh, I understand. >> All right. Do you have anything else in your pockets besides that bait? >> I have a a hotel key in my back pocket. >> Okay, that's fine. We're just We're more concerned about weapons. >> Yeah, I >> I do not like weapons. Got enough seat. >> All right. So again, I'm giving any issues. I'm going to make you comfortable as possible. Right now, my thing is I I can't keep him tied up. We're going to head to my office. >> I'm going to let you freely do whatever you want to do to an extent >> and then uh we're going to head to the jail after that. >> Okay. >> I I've just got to complete your paperwork. That's all. >> Is there any chance that I would be able to get out and take care of things? As long as I look at I got to look at your information. All I know right now is you have a warrant. You confirm your identity to me. I already knew who you were. I saw the picture of you. I knew it's you. >> Right >> now I got to look at everything in the detail and see and let you know your bond information. Let you know what's going to happen, etc., etc. >> I appreciate it. >> Okay. So, just give give me give me time. >> You got it. Thank you. >> I'm really sorry. There's this happened and there's something this guy was burglarizing cars over here. So, he's on the stretch of a fire rescue. We're going to make sure fire rescue is okay and then we're going to go. Okay. Sorry about the delay. >> Is there any way we could loosen this a little bit? I tried to pull back and >> even while while I have you here, I'll just take it off. >> Okay. >> I'll put it back on. >> Okay. Oh, thank you. I can breathe. >> Um, issue 41725. Money laundering. >> Huh? >> Grand Theft over 100K. I don't know about the money launder, but okay. >> So you So you have no bond. You got to see a judge. The judge is going to give you a bond in the morning. 07:00 in the morning. >> How does bonds work? I'm all new to this. >> So if it was if it was uh bondable, then the bond would be here. The numbers will be here. >> Mhm. >> Um but when it's no bond, that means the judge want to see you. >> Okay. before. So you can he's going to give you stipulations. >> All right. >> But there is a chance that I can get out tomorrow. >> Tomorrow morning. Yeah. After he give you your bond and your stipulations. Yes. >> Okay. You wouldn't be able to answer anything until I see the judge because you wouldn't know because >> Yeah. Okay. I got [laughter] it. >> How you doing? >> I'm not quite sure. Well, I kind of know. >> You kind of know? Yeah. >> You got a good idea? >> Yeah. Her bond was set at $150,000 as prosecutors charged her with multiple counts of grand theft, alleging that she had stolen more than $3.5 million over an extended period. After months of investigation and court proceedings, the case finally came to an end on February 13th, 2026 when she entered a guilty plea. The plea agreement resulted in a 6-year prison sentence with 53 days already credited for time served. You feel as if that was appropriate >> to chase a student down to get into class >> and then what happened from there? >> I put him in the classroom. >> It looks as if you drugged him and then also looks like there was a kick involved. >> A kick? >> Yes. >> So, >> this is crazy. >> You know exactly the answer. Are you going to let me talk or you going to keep talking over me? >> A dispute between this teacher and her fifth grade students took a terrifying turn. What began as a casual day at school quickly turned serious when she deliberately dragged and kicked one of her own students. >> Excuse me. >> How you doing? >> I'm good. How are you? >> Good. Let's go inside and talk for a minute. >> Is there a five on this door for us to go in? >> Over here. Well, we can What about this one over here? >> Uh, it might I know that somebody's going to the office. >> Let me go back here. >> Come here. You have any idea why I'm why I'm talking to you? I ask you to stand by for a minute. Nope. >> Okay. Uh I'm getting some information that there was an incident that took place today. >> Okay. >> Uh in the hallway. I'm gathering more information on that. But until um I do that, which I'm getting now, I need you to sit tight and you're not going to be free to leave right now >> for >> But that's what the incident that took place in the hallway with one of the students. >> Correct. But what am I being detained for? I just told you because of the incident that took place in the hallway with one of the students. >> I understand that. I understand that. >> So that's why you're being detained. That's why you're not free to go cuz I'm looking into this matter. >> Okay. But for what though? What is I'm trying to understand what's being investigated? >> The incident of what took place. >> The incident of what took place? I understand that. But what is being investigated with the incident? >> The handling of it. >> Okay. Do you feel as if that was appropriate >> to chase a student down to get into class? >> And then what happened from there? >> I put him in the classroom. He laid out on the floor, but I did put him I put him in. >> Did you drag him? >> I had a hand on him. Absolutely. And he he was resisting. Yes. >> Did you >> I didn't drag him. You could also show me >> and that's what I need to look further into. But I'm going to tell you, put on memory. It looks as if you drug them. And then it also looks like there was a kick involved. >> A kick? >> Yes. >> So >> this is crazy. >> So for right now I'm I'm going to sit in here. >> And can I ask who asked for it to be investigated? >> It's involved with a kid. >> Well, no, I understand that, but I'm just asking. >> District administration. >> Okay. >> Okay. This is coming from the top. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Am I allowed to have my mother? >> How old are you? >> I'm 26. >> Okay. >> She's in the building. >> Half her what? Huh? have her what? Like with you? >> Yes. >> No, she can obviously be in the building. But why? Reason why I is if you were telling me you were 17, then obviously it goes a different route. But if you're 18 and above, obviously you're considered adult. So no, she can be wherever she is. But can she be in here with us present? No. And we're not going to stay in here right now. I just obviously don't want to discuss this in front of everybody. >> I would rather be it be discussed in front of everybody else. So I have somebody letting me somebody else witness to the conversation. Well, well, there's a big witness right here that that's being recorded. >> Okay. >> Um, and there will be another officer here momentarily, but unfortunately >> All right. >> Okay. >> You have a driver license. Say ID with him. >> That's the end of the classroom. >> All right. Just for a second. >> I need the phone up for right now. You you are >> I can't be on the phone because I'm being detained. >> What's up? Are you on? >> Yeah. >> Huh? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. Yeah, definitely. I need to sit tight in here with >> her. I'm going to be right next door in this office. But >> um speed change. She's not free to go, but I obviously don't have her in handcuffs right now. Okay. Cool. Uh, >> she can't be on the phone. Can't make contact with anybody. >> You still need to >> No, when she gets here, you'll be good. >> All right, cool. >> Um, did he give you >> He said he didn't know anything that was going on. >> Okay. >> Just that we were switching. He had to go out and kill him. Oh, I'm on. >> Okay. >> You You're on, right? >> Huh? >> You're on, right? >> I am. I know. Yeah. >> All right. This is what's getting ready to happen, young lady. We're making sure the office is clear. Uh you're getting ready taken into custody. Uh you're going to be charged with at least one count of battery and probably child endangerment. Um I will go over more with what exactly the charges will be when I get to the station. This officer is going to uh put you in handcuffs, come obviously pat you down. Uh she's going to transport you through the intake process when we get to the safe. When you walk into the station, I'm going to finish talking to building administration and district administration and I'll be also the parent of the child and I'll be in to talk to you when I get done with that. You have any questions for me? >> Nope. >> Okay. Go ahead and put your hands right here. >> Just so you know, uh Dr. Kinder just fell out the office so no one is going to see you unless >> I don't really care to be honest. >> Okay. I just wanted you to be away. >> Hold on. >> You said you have ID but it's where. >> It's in my mother's classroom. So when you go in there, tell her you arrested me, too. >> I just got to check and make sure you don't have any weapons or any objects that we can't have >> uh in the car. Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to uh hold on to your cellular phone. Okay. But you'll get it back, of course. Okay, we'll get you locked off. Are you >> I'm parked like right in front of the door. >> Uh, having your ID will help expedite this process. Are you good if I get it from your mom? >> Not unless you want to tell her that you arrested me. >> You're an adult, too. >> I don't care if I'm an adult or not. >> Sit overnight then. I'm trying to help you out, young lady. But but but hold on, hold on. I've been nothing but cool with you. You had barely explained it. >> I I did explain to you talking about an incident in the hallway tooth. I asked [clears throat] for more details and you're like an incident in the hallway. An incident in the hallway. An incident in the hallway. I'm asking for more details. You keep saying an inc. >> Are you going to let me talk or you going to keep talking over me? >> I wasn't done talking. You were trying to cut me off, but I'm done. Don't worry about it. I'm done. >> I explained it was an incident with you dragging a kid. I stated that twice. You know exactly the answer. >> After I asked for clarification. >> Okay. And after and when I knew that. Okay. But when I knew that, I explained that to you. >> But I had to ask more. >> Okay. It doesn't matter how many times did you get the information? Did you receive the information you were looking for? I told you I was I was I was >> I was investigated an incident that I was informed of. I told you I needed to get more details. When you answer further, I told you that. So I'm going to ask you this part one more time. Having your ID will help expedite this. Do you want me to get it from your mom or would you like to sit in jail longer? >> Actually, it's in my car now that I'm thinking about it. It's not even in there. So, >> okay. >> You might want to purse in the car. So, my car. >> Does your mom have access to that? >> If she has my keys. >> Does she have your keys? >> She might. Yeah. >> Okay. >> I don't know because I let my sisters drive my car. So, I don't know if she has my keys or if my sisters took my car. >> Okay. All right. You you mind live? >> Yeah. Yeah, I was going to do that anyway. >> Oh, good. >> Yeah, just come walk. I'll walk with you, though. >> After arresting the teacher, the officer meets with the students mother, Haron, who goes on to explain her son's side of the events in terrifying detail, describing exactly what happened to him. Details that will forever shock this elementary school community. Okay, ma'am. >> Sorry about all that. Just trying to get everything squared away and hang out for Did you speak with your son? >> Yes. >> Is she okay? >> Yeah. He was saying that his arm was hurting. Um I had to um go to work, so he going to be off the bus after I'm already gone. So my daughter was there. So he was telling her what happened. When I called, she put him on the phone to tell me. >> And what did he tell you? >> Um he said that she threw him against the wall. She dragged him in class and then she kicked him in in the class. He said he don't know if she was kicking his leg um so she can shut the door. I don't know if he was not letting her shut the door or what. I don't know. So, how much if it happened in the hallway, the pulling in the other stuff, they got cameras, they should be able to see that. Um, but in the class, he said that she kicked him. >> Did he say how many times? >> No, I didn't ask none of that. She said she was kicking me. Um, so I'm trying to figure out today what happened, you know. >> Um, I was able to view the video. Um, >> is it what he say? >> Yes. Yes. >> Wow. >> Yeah. Very, very. >> She must have been upset. I don't know if upset, maybe potentially frustrated. I mean, obviously, I don't know. I didn't see much of the preceding. >> Uh I what I saw for they were standing in the hallway. Um your son, it was another kid and then I believe it was three adults. Um they were walking down, they they stopped to have a little bit of a conversation. Then for whatever reason, your son starts to run as she said. She starts running behind him. She catches up to him, >> grabs him by like the the collar of the shirt. >> Um I the way it appears obviously I'm not there. I can't hear. And you you see it, but the way it appears the momentum for catching up to him and grabbing by the shirt, I think is what actually made him fall to the ground. It's not as if she like picks them up and throws them down or, you know, does one of those motions. I think it was she was running, grabbed him, and then the mo the momentum of her trying to bring him back. I think I think he hit the ground based on that. >> But unfortunately, after he does hit the ground, she doesn't stop with him and just hold him or come right. She continues down the hallway. >> Drag him. >> Yes. By the shirt in the arm area. As of this moment, the student's mother has filed a lawsuit against the school district [music] after viewing the horrifying video footage involving her son and the teacher. Following the incident, the fourth grade teacher was charged with [music] battery and child endangerment, and she could face up to one year in prison if [music] convicted. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty. On May 14th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a bank after receiving a report that an individual was attempting to cash a stolen check using another person's identity. The suspect had allegedly tried to cash the same check the day before, but when they returned, a banker noticed something was wrong and quickly called police before the transaction could go through. Hey, do me a favor, sir. You don't under arrest. You're just being detained right now. Till we figure out what's going on here. Okay. >> All right, man. >> I just got my right. >> Say what? >> My phone is right there. >> That's all right. Nothing will happen to it. We're going to go ahead and have a seat over here. You carrying knives or weapons or anything? I don't know. Just going to pat you down real quick here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Like I said, I don't know what's going on here. explaining anything in a moment. Just spread your legs here for me. Yes, sir. It's >> your wallet. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Your ID is going to be in there. >> Yeah. They got it right there. >> Oh, they got it. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> Keys? >> Yes, sir. >> Lighter. >> Yes. >> Just do me a favor. Have a seat right here, sir. >> All right. >> What's your name, man? >> Deon DNA. >> Devin what? >> Donut. D V I N D U N L E. >> All right, listen to me while I got to read you here. Okay, man. Like I said, you're under arrest at this time. Just being sane. >> I'm sorry. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be against you in the court of law. Do you understand? >> You have the right to the presence of an attorney prior to you or while you're being questioned. You understand? >> Yes. >> You cannot afford to hire a lawyer won't be appointed at county expense to represent you before any question you so wish. You understand? >> All right. You decide any time to exercise these rights and not answer any of my questions or make any statements. You understand? >> Yes. >> All right. Do you understand each of these rights that I've just explained to you? Yeah. >> All right. Having these right in mind. You will want to answer our questions. >> Sorry. >> No. All right. >> You read him already? >> Yep. >> You got his name. >> Want to answer the question? >> Oh, no. You don't want to You want to say anything? Okay. Okay. At least get your name. You got it. You got his name already. >> No, I figured his ID or something like that. He's got his wallet. All right. >> This is his phone right here. >> Okay. Did he give you any ID right there? Okay. >> And that's the check right here. Oh, yeah. If I could just get that. Never mind. >> Did he happen to give you anything else or that was it? >> That was it. Okay. >> Hey, boss. >> You need help like doing statements and stuff before? >> Yeah, probably will. I got to call my girl so she can pick up my car. >> You said what? >> I call my girl pick up my car. >> Yeah. Once we get over to the station, I'll let you make a call. >> Yeah. >> My car. >> Huh? >> Right there. >> Which one is it? >> Right. The uh stereo. Which one? >> Stereo. >> The gray one. >> Yeah. >> All right. Uh yeah. Once we get there, I'll let >> Well, you get the keys from me. >> Where the keys at? In your pockets. Well, I'm about to take out everything from your pockets. All right. Turn the AC on for you. >> How you doing? Uh is this uh Miss O'Brien again? >> Yes, it is. >> Okay. How you doing? It's officer Stewart. So, um the the check that this uh male was trying to to cash. Do you know where exactly where you got from? >> I have no idea. >> Oh, you got no idea. >> It's a check. take the Riverside person or a business >> check business check. >> Yeah, I can send you a copy. >> Yeah. So, it's from you and it's Yes. being paid to the order of this this mail. Do Do you know what Deon left? name on there too on the chat. >> Yeah. A >> what's her husband's name? >> Yes. Your husband also? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Oh god. And you never been in >> I'm sorry. called I think it was him that he called us trying to get information and everything is like why were you asking me all this information >> and then we got the business >> who's at the check cashing store called her? >> Yeah. Who was that that called you last week? It it was him you're saying or >> I think >> Oh, so you think that he was trying to call you last week to get your information? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Did he say how he got the information? No, he's not he's not saying anything. Let us know. >> Yeah, of course. I'm going to be giving you a call back >> uh with any more information or if you need anything else from me. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. I appreciate it. >> All right. No problem. >> Thank you. >> Um I can get a statement from the teller. >> Okay. >> Do you want me to call Troy? Want to buy him or you want to call? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. See what >> I think it's a straight, you know, it's uttering forge instrument. You can charge identity theft uh attempted grand theft and if they're willing to be a victim and charge them with bank fraud as well. >> Okay. >> So, let me call uh Troy, but if you want to go ahead and transport him, I think you're good. It's just we got to figure out how to do a statement from her. >> That may be something that they may do later on. >> So, um let me call Brett and I'll I'll call you. who handled the transaction with the uh gentleman. I do. >> Okay. I'm going to need to get a statement from you. Okay. >> And then I don't know if you want to call up your boss, but you guys are technically a victim of the crime of bank fraud because he tried to, you know, dupe you guys. I don't know if you want to call your boss to find out cuz I got to get a statement from you. Just going over the details of him presenting the uh check and everything like that. And then if you want to call your boss and ask them are if you guys are willing to press charge in regards to the uh charge for bank fraud. >> Yeah, you wouldn't mind. And then is there some way I can get get a statement from her? >> Um can I come around the back? >> Step back. >> Sorry. >> Either or. Whatever you guys want to do, we can do it right here. It's going to be a tape statement. So, um, just go ahead and walk me through the gentleman that came into the store today whose name is, >> hold on a second. Yeah, Devin. Um, just walk me through when he entered and just, you know, eventually led to me showing up here. >> Okay. So, he came in actually yesterday to cash it. And >> the same check. >> Yeah, the same check. He said he came in because he sold his car. It was a 2012 BMW, I think 328. >> Mhm. And and when I asked him did he have any like paperwork from selling the car, he said no. >> And then he stated that he provided the 786 telephone number saying that that's who he sold the car to. >> Mhm. >> And then when we tried looking up the number, it came back to someone else that wasn't that who he sold the car to. >> Okay. And then from that, we got a hold of the maker and the maker said that she received a call last week with the same person trying to cash the same check and that it's fraudulent. >> She got a phone call from another place, >> Lisa. Yes. So the stamp that was on the back of the check, I asked him, I say, "Hey, where did you take it to?" Because he had to have a cancellation endorsement stamp >> and it wasn't a cancellation stamp. So I told him that he would have to go back and come back. >> So there was a stamp on the back of the check. >> So that would indicate that he attempted to or tried to Right. And he stated that they said that because he didn't have an account with them that they wouldn't be able to cash it. >> Gotcha. Okay. So then uh you said you called the maker on the check, Lisa. >> Yes. >> Okay. And you spoke to her just directly and everything like that. >> Correct. Trying to just verify the check. >> And what did she tell you? The same thing. >> She said the same thing that um this is fraudulent because she received a call from a bank last week. She didn't give a date, but last week that the same check with the same amount. >> Okay. All right. Um he presented ID to you. Yes, he did. >> Okay. You looked at ID, verified it and everything like that. Correct. >> Um, no money was exchanged at Okay. >> Not at all. >> Um, did she Lisa tell you that she was calling the police? >> Yes. >> Okay. Were you going to be calling the police eventually or what's your policy? I don't know what policy is in regards to situations like this. >> Well, now that part my manager, I have to follow up with her as far as that. Her? Yes. Ana. >> Okay. All right. Um, what was I going to say? Um, was there like a transaction slip created for this transaction already? you guys. I don't know if you guys do like >> Yeah, we have paperwork. >> Okay. Um I'll talk to her in regards to seeing if I can get a copy of that and then also talk to her in regards to getting the um who need to contact get the video. I did ask her about previously about the bank fraud. I'm guessing checking doesn't want to press charge in regards to that. Is that correct? Or you need to verify with her? >> Yeah, I have to verify with her. >> Okay. Um, >> the man was charged with identity theft and attempted grand theft. On June 1st, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence following reports that a woman had violated a protection order by stalking her neighbors, trespassing on their property, and recording without permission. >> So, what's going on? >> So, we got a recorder >> [snorts] >> and stay tight in there. No videoing or surveillance looked at it. >> Yeah, I was thumbming through it on my way over here. >> So, she comes down. She's got this path there behind her. See? >> Yeah. She said she was trying to walk down. I don't know. Is that lake access or something? >> I bet it gets so brushy she can't go to the water. >> Okay. >> But yeah, so um I notic my dogs are barking. I go down to pick him up and she's standing there videoing me and she just went to court and got in trouble for this like a week ago. >> Last week she was just found guilty by a jury here in >> Lakewood Court. >> Okay. >> She just doesn't stop. >> So yeah. So today So she said just from the half second that I was standing over there, she said she was using the trail. The dogs You got a couple dogs or something? >> Yeah, she had her dogs with her too. She br she brought dogs down because she knows it makes ours react at the fence. >> Oh, what fence is what's the fence in discretion? >> Come on down. >> It's >> I've never been here, so that's why I'm like >> um so she she said she was walking. She said >> she thought you were filming her or something and then she put her phone I don't know if she thought that it was maybe like I'm trying to protect my image or something. So she said [laughter] she said she held it up because she thought you were filming her and then that's why she said it almost came off to me as like a defense thing but she said she wasn't recording anything. She said she did that as for whatever you know people kind of stood out people started recording each other whatever. >> That's what I got from her is quite familiar with her. >> Yeah, I know we come out here. I just I haven't been out here personally. >> I didn't bother filming her down there. I just picked up my dog and said, "You're not filming me again, are you?" Cuz she just got in trouble for it. >> What did What did she say? >> She didn't say a word. >> Okay. >> And that's kind of what she said. She said she wasn't trying. She said that she was I'm not going to say anything. I'm not going to blah blah blah. Which kind of good. I wouldn't >> She got in trouble for that, too. >> Yeah. >> You're not supposed to talk to us. >> So, anyway, >> so this started she's she started this last night, but we gave her grace. We didn't call. She's We have her on camera videoing our yard, videoing my husband sitting in his chair and we're like, "Oh, here we go." She was 40 minutes on this lane last night. We just let it go. This was like 9:00 at night. >> Mhm. >> Well, then now this morning she's just right back at it. So, it's like, "Okay, that's enough." >> Okay. >> She held that. He's got it on his video. She was point out got her phone up and videoing just same thing she just was at court for on the 21st >> and that was this morning or this was last night? >> Yes, both. >> Both. >> Both. >> I got her on I filmed her recording me in our backyard. >> Just like half an hour ago. >> Okay. Is she has she always been like I mean what's her kind of deal? Why' you guys >> This is our second anti-harassment order we've had to get against her at the advice of multiple Lakewood police officers, attorneys, adult protective services. It's really sad situation, but she just doesn't seem to stop or >> does she have a mental thing or >> I'm not a mental health professional, but whatever dispatch I we've heard on this that they think she has, but yet the court and attorneys say she knows full well what she's doing. And so does a handful of your officers have said the same thing. So >> we're just neighbors trying to live our life quietly and she just she just won't let it. >> Yeah. >> And she's not going to until she we figured she would suffer, you know, once >> just uh the wire one. >> Yeah. You want to see where it >> You want to come down? >> Yeah. >> So I heard my dog barking. So I come down here to see what he's barking about. So we got a baby trail running around to tell out of the nest that can't fly yet. M >> making sure it wasn't him. And there she was [snorts] standing down here right about right about here. I go pick my dog up and she's standing like, you know, right there just with her camera out. >> So the dogs were barking right here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, >> do you have like I guess security footage of whatever? >> I got it on my phone. >> Yeah. >> And security camera footage, too. >> This one, the allegation today that she was making that it sounded like today was reactionary. >> Um, >> so I didn't film nothing here, but up there she's doing the same thing. >> Do you have like residential? We got camera here. >> It didn't pick it up apparently. >> But there she is in the purple. I noticed her up there just standing there. So I walk up to see what she's doing in there. There you can see she's got her phone out. And you don't have anything from last night though. >> From last night. >> Just security surveillance stuff. That's what I Yeah, I wanted to see that too. It' make it a little It' make it a little bit more as far as trying to like have a case. [bell and music] I think she was intoxicated last night perhaps Saturday night. Oh, don't pause there. She's got her camera up right now and she's filming the 31st. >> She's leaning over to see where my husband's sitting in a chair over here in the yard. It's worth triggering it. Sorry. >> Yeah, you're good. >> What What's the time on this? Is this the time of here? 8:30. >> Yeah, last night. Yes, she started. She came down at 8:21 and it commen it ended about 9:00 about 40 minutes this went on. >> So, she had her phone out. Can I just receive too? >> Yeah. >> Sa. So, I just want to see her kind of like doing this thing with the phone. [bell] >> This is last night. >> I don't know if you're familiar with this whole mess here, but >> yeah, I tried to serve the order a couple times. >> She just was found guilty last week in a jury trial here in Lakewood Municipal Court for doing for doing the same thing when we were on BART's. We were over at Bart and Barb Dalton's. She came out on her backpack, same thing. And the jury found her guilty. We thought finally she's going to learn a lesson and she'll leave us alone. Nope. >> She said some of our dogs were your dogs were running at her and then you lifted up your phone, started filming her. >> So she picked up her phone and started >> picked up my dog and then she's sitting there like away filming me. So I say, "You're not videoing me again, are you?" Cuz she just got in trouble for this last week. And she walks off fine. And then she's up there by the garbage cans >> and then she stops. She stops and comes back here and starts videoing again. So I walk up there to see what she's doing and I got her on video with her phone pointed at me, videoing me. >> So we have a garbage a camera on our garbage can lid up there and we put it there because Sergeant Fraser said you should have a camera here because in what month was that where she blocked the driveway? >> January. >> That was like last year. >> She lined her vehicles up and blocked our driveway and it was a big deal for about an hour. the sergeant had to come there and tow our vehicles anyway. Um, so he suggested we have because we didn't get any of it on video. So he said to put one there. So we had one there and then like two weeks ago. We have no footage, but she can come behind our garbage cans. Anyway, >> something flipped the garbage can lit up and our camera went flying and was knocked out, but we don't >> Okay. >> have any proof of who or what or how. >> Yeah. >> So anyway, and this went on last night for 40 minutes and we didn't call. We just gave her grace thinking, you know, she'll go to bed soon or if we don't react, she'll go away and leave us alone. But it's commenced again today. So, it's like, all right, that's enough. >> It's time to call you guys and put a stop to this. >> Yeah. >> That's why we got a protection order so that you guys could do something. That's >> Yeah. >> Uh protect I think I told her protection orders with neighbors is very strange, right? I don't to be honest with you. I don't I don't know. But uh you know [sighs] >> you guys are looking for like the kind of the the surveillance portion of it. Is that what you're looking >> the last time that George I don't know if you reviewed the order but she hand wrote all the stuff. >> Yeah the superior this was superior court too not district court. This is we were in superior court for this. >> Yeah it's not in depth >> stalking behavior. >> Yeah. And surveillance not supposed to be >> Yeah. not supposed to be doing it. >> 111. >> Okay. Yeah, I'll send it to MUN Court because this last case was at MUN Court, too. I'll I'll write it and I'll write up the violation, but I'll write it and then I'll kind of hit last night as far as what last night she was recording the property and stuff and then I'll we'll see. We'll probably get something in the mail from the prosecutor if they decide to >> Have you guys ever tried to sit down with like a mediator or pastor? >> I have reached out to the pastors. I've met with them and I said, "We are more than willing. We just want peace. >> Yeah. >> And And so the pastors reach out to her and they she told them, "Nope, it's too late. I can't drop anything." >> Really? >> Can Do you have a number a CAD number for me? >> Yeah. Let me My my car is up here. I'll walk up here. I'm going to >> Okay. >> I'm going to chat with her. I just want to press her about last night and then um I'll uh I'll bring you down a card. >> What happened? Um, >> just so you know, body cameras run. >> Yeah. Uh, I have a trail down there. I took a dog a walk with my dogs. >> Suddenly, four dogs, their four dogs came to my fence. >> Yeah. >> And started barking at me loudly. >> Then, uh, Jake comes down there with his camera. >> Uhhuh. So, I just put up my phone like that. I didn't record him, you know. I didn't say anything to him. >> Yeah. >> You know, that's my property. I have every right to use it. They have multiple cameras on it stalking my movement, they actually requested that I on their original petition that I stay a thousand feet away from them. >> Yeah. >> What kind of people would do that? What kind of neighbors do that? Yeah. >> And I'm, you know, telling you what it is, so they'll get this recording and listen to it. >> The woman was charged with stalking and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. On April 18th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence following an investigation of a public's cashier allegedly stealing over $6,000 using a secret refund scam. This body cam footage captures the events that followed, exposing actions so disturbingly deceptive that they left employees shocked and enraged. >> Hello. How are you? >> Good. >> Are you Mr. Libra? >> Yeah. >> Um, looking for Sue. >> Is she here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You mind if we speak to her? >> All right. What's going on? >> Doing an investigation. Looking into a few things. Hello, Sue. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm good. Yes. >> You mind speaking to me? >> Yep. >> Okay. Up to you if you want to close the door. Whatever. I'm doing an investigation. >> Can I get your shoes? >> Uh, yeah, sure. >> All right. >> Hello. Yeah, >> I'm Detective Eis uh with the sheriff's office. This is Detective Coleman. >> Uh we're we I've been doing an investigation. I was contacted by Publix. >> Yes. >> You used to work for Publix? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. You were recently fired. >> Yep. >> Okay. Um the situation is the investigation um they're looking to press charges. Okay. For the theft and the fraud. >> Yeah. >> Okay. That everything's been spoken about when you were terminated and everything. >> Okay. Um, I'd like to speak to you, uh, talk to you about the whole situation. You know, maybe what came about and why, you know, what was done was done. >> Okay? But, um, for today, um, you'll be placed under arrest, okay? And take it with me. But, I'd like to talk about it, all right? So that we can get the whole story so that when it goes through the system, like everyone on both sides knows what's going on. Okay? So today you're going to come with me. All right. Do you have anything on you? >> My phone. >> You have your phone? All right. You want to take it with you? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. You can take it with you. Um >> Yeah. It's just easier if you leave jewelry here. So, do you want to take your your jewelry off? >> Arrest. >> Yeah. I'm I'm going to I'm going to place you under arrest. Okay. Um and you're going to come with me. All right. And we're going to go down to the station and I'd like to speak to you about everything. And then from there you'll be taken down to gun club. >> Gun club? >> Yeah, it's the jail. Okay. >> Do you really have to say? >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Yes. So >> So I don't care. I just follow you, but I will not run away. >> No, this is not how that works. Okay. So like I said, there the the jewelry I'm going to take off or you can leave it here. Okay. So I'm going to place you under arrest now. Okay. Oh, wait. >> Okay. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. No. No. No. No. We're not going to go inside. We're not going back inside now. Okay. That's the thing. >> I have to change. >> No. We're not We're not going to change any clothing. You can take off the chain. >> I need to wear something properly, please. >> This is perfectly fine. They actually give you a uniform when you get there. >> Yes. >> Okay. It's not about wearing certain attire. I promise. >> No. >> Okay. So, how should I how can I my husband build me up or whatever? >> Yes, I'll speak to you about all that and everything. But the thing is is that >> can I just comb my hair do something about >> you're fine. I promise you're fine. Okay. >> You're fine. I promise. >> Can you give them my glasses? >> I'll get you can get the glasses. >> I cannot wait. >> Can I change my shoes? I do not want to wear this one. I just want to put their shoes. >> Yes, we will. We will get the shoes. We will take care of everything. I promise. If you want, we can step inside. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I need my head to put it in. >> Thank you. >> Press this up. >> I just want to leave my head. >> Okay. Um, glass. >> Yeah. Would you like to take the chain off? >> Do that. >> Yeah. My glass will pay for >> one. There you go. Okay. >> All right. The chain. Um, if is it there's a hook or anything or something? >> All right. >> All right. So, glasses and phone. That's all you have on, right? >> No. None of my >> Yeah. hair clip. >> They're going to take it off of you. Just so you know, >> you're going to have to have your hair like that. >> Like they don't wrap it. They don't, you know, all of this stuff like the this phone is going to go in an evidence pouch. >> Um the only other thing I mean really you >> phone yes or no? I mean if you want it to be able to when you get out when it's bailed out and you can make a phone call on your own phone up to you. >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. >> So how do I do >> so? All right. So, the process is I'm going to go speak with her. Um, you know, I'm hoping you'll talk to me. If not, then, um, basically she takes a ride. Um, she gets booked in. Uh, the process usually is a few hours and then she'll be able to make her phone call. She'll call you. Um, you can hook up with a bail bondsman or whoever if you know there's a bail. It's up to the court system. Again, I'm not part of that side of the house. What it is is that in their system based on the charges they have to go by a point system and they have to know okay she needs to see a judge or she can get bailed out right now. So if she needs to see a judge so you have to wait till tomorrow morning. >> If not then they'll hook up and you'll call and the bail bonds and everything that she gets released. How >> do you contact me? How is he going to contact you? >> You you have access to a phone. Yeah, you can you can contact him via phone call. >> So he cannot contact me >> in jail. Um, and that's one of those that usually if you have to stay for a long time, yes, he can make phone calls and say, "Hey, contact me." All that stuff. But I mean, I'm just saying that this most likely will be a first appearance tomorrow morning or it will be a phone call in a few hours. >> Do you know his phone number by heart? >> Yeah, I have. >> You know, you know his phone number. Okay, that's all. >> We can write a piece of paper and wait. >> I use my phone to access his number, right? >> Oh, no. Because I cannot remember his number. Okay. >> His phone number is in my contact. >> Do you have a a pad on you? >> I'll write I'll write it in a piece of paper. Your phone number and then I'll put it in your evidence. >> Oh, can I? >> And then you'll have access to the piece of paper. >> Oh, I >> You won't be able to use the phone in jail. >> Okay. So, um she's coming with us and then number >> you want to get my number. >> Oh, pen. >> Yeah. You don't have a pen on a pen. Do you have a pin on you, sir? >> Okay. I'll uh we're going to walk out this way. Okay. >> They're down there. >> Yeah. >> Um Okay. Um like I said, I'm I'm Detective Ekus. I didn't want to get it wrong before. Did I say Sue? Is it Sue? >> How do you say it? >> Sue. >> Sue. Okay. I actually have um uh What nationality are you? >> I'm a Malaysian. >> Malaysian. Oh, okay. Well, I always confuse where that is, but um Okay. Like I said, today um I'd like to talk to you about the incident with Publix. Okay. You used to work there, correct? Um All right. So, >> so my story is when I first came here, she has a >> she has a what do you call this? Take away shop. Take away. Okay. >> Okay. >> Just a take away. >> Oh, okay. Small little restaurant. Okay. >> Maybe about 20 almost 20 years ago. >> Okay. >> So, when I first came, I just met with my very very good friend, childhood friend. So I feel like she betraying me that's why I hate Florida is >> okay >> I was I I was helping her in the you know when I first came here she have a you know the small store so I'm helping her on the second day I live in staying with her then she asked me you have to go out and look for a room >> I just came the first time in my life come to America she feel like not welcoming me asked something like not a chase not in a chase it's something like you know giving me something like um you don't say in my house that you go and look for room or whatever I said I do not mind but I do not know she just throw me a paper asked me to look for room >> I said >> I do not know it sounds best way I said I do not know who is your neighbor who how to go from your house also you asked me to look for a room I do not know where is it right >> so then finally We settle everything. Then I work in her restaurant for maybe two weeks. Then one day I was sick. I was sick. I was not feeling well. Then I feel like I wanted to go home to rest. >> So the daughter saw me not feeling well. They asked my friend is her mother to send me home. My friend said if I send her home it take 10 minutes or 20 minutes. That time I cannot remember. say is it back and forth I have to waste about maybe 40 minutes and I was so sad. >> So that's why I give you more hatred of Florida. >> Okay. >> Then >> so what moved you over here? >> My husband retired. >> Oh Mr. Liber. >> Yes. >> Okay. What did he do? >> He's a CPA in New York. >> Oh, he was a CPA in New York. >> Yeah, I ashamed him. Yeah, I know. I ashamed him. No, it it's one of those that again, like I said, I I'm sure in your own way like you had a reason for it. Okay. Um I mean what what was going on behind in bills? Like what? >> No. >> Nothing because I hate as I told you from the day three years ago when he says that he want to move over here. >> Mhm. >> Actually, we are quite okay all the time. I'm quite okay when the time that I know because every year he came here for holiday. That's fine for me. One week you go. Okay. >> I I do not like the sun. I don't like the sun. >> Okay. >> So when he come to move here from that day onwards I always not in good terms with him. I get angry. >> Okay. >> So I cannot to stop him from moving here. So I have no choice because I have no one in New York. So >> okay, >> I follow him. >> All right. >> So this a hatred of Florida. I really hate Florida. >> So okay. So >> so I cannot get actually I work in the office job all in my entire life. Actually I work in attorney office in Malaysia. >> Mhm. Then I come here I work in the office Chinese company like the home health agency office mean all office not like supermarket nothing all the while I don't like supermarket job >> okay I work in the office but I come here I cannot get a job so I have no choice because I don't like to stay at home doing nothing >> doing nothing is very boring so I said I need to get some things to go on at least I can see others >> okay So then I get the job actually until today I can tell you I don't like supermarket job. I don't like the job. I don't like Florida at all until today. >> Okay. >> So that's why I have this problem because I also don't know how I started. I do not know how I started but because I was so angry. I don't know because you know customer think me go back to China. Go back where you come from. You Chinese people carry co Maybe to you. >> Somebody said that to you. >> A lot of customer. >> A lot of customers they said that to you. >> Yes. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> Even though when I first time I was in BA, it's not a customer. It's a residence. Okay. I think the the man who stay in the same building. >> I said go back to go back to China. >> Okay. >> So I'm very angry. I said I shout at him. >> Yeah. >> Then after that I move here. I still go in the same supermarket. I have more people to say that. >> Mhm. >> Go back to China. Go back to don't touch my stuff. You people carry it. >> Maybe to you. I talk to you said just let people go off right. But to me >> I feel very very hurt. Oh, very much. I I believe me, I with statements like that, I'm sure it made you very angry. >> Yes, I feel very very hurt, >> especially [clears throat] I was in the self checkup. >> Mhm. >> Okay. I kind of look people say, "Why look at me? Why this [clears throat] one? Why that one?" >> Sometimes I try to help a customer. Don't touch my stuff. I have customer a lot. Not one, two, three. >> That's very hurt. >> As I said, maybe to you, you don't feel hurt because you have a lot of Chinese people to tell you this one. >> It's not I mean, it's not so much that again like I completely understand that. I I do not agree at all, any statements, hurtful hatred, all that, you know, like the whole co thing. And it's not >> I don't get it in New York but maybe the time I take a bus I take a train maybe until the morning these people don't come out and say something to me but I do not know maybe now New York I do not know >> those people are disgusting for saying things like that >> so that's why I said people here should be you know call it's not from Chinese people and we don't know from >> yeah so why accumulate because I'm the only Chinese there [clears throat] >> so it's really really hurt me. I did tell my supervisor sometime just said just forget about it. >> Yeah. So they didn't really help you. >> So to them maybe they feel that you know everybody complain about you and me complain you complain me complain me. There's so many she said why you want to take it into take it. I said then I said I don't say anything but I said maybe I'm a bit too sensitive because maybe some other people they said ah in out but to me I really take it I really take it because as I told you from the very beginning I don't like Florida >> I don't like to work in the supermarket but this is only choice >> I get to work >> so it was the anger and every so was it like those customers that you go behind and take get the receipt. >> Yes. >> So the ones that made you angry >> once I get a receipt I get something maybe I feel like a bit like console console or maybe I feel I don't know what to say. Uh means feel a little bit >> like even the score. >> How can I say something? I feel like maybe I feel a little bit happy. I can maybe I can say that something I don't know the right words. Maybe I can feel a little bit happy or whatever because [clears throat] >> as a to even though I told my husband every day I hate Florida even >> he doesn't want to move back. >> So he say you want to move back we divorce this and that this and that. Of course he's not threatening me to say he didn't threaten me anything. >> Mhm. that maybe this feel that I really hate or maybe for me like I'm get crazy for doing that. >> Well, I mean, so again, so you were angry and then you you take the receipt and you get the items >> and then um you would you return them right then? >> Yeah. >> And I get >> it was on your credit card. Uh sometime gift cards. >> Oh, you get gift cards. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But you put it back on your your credit card the for the receipt. >> Few item only. >> A few items. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Few. [clears throat] >> How many time like how long ago did this start? >> It started maybe March or end of fe end of February. >> Like February. >> Not beginning. >> Oh, okay. >> Maybe or much. >> So, how many times did you do it? >> I cannot remember how many times but quite a many times. >> A lot. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, >> so I don't know what to lie to you, but I cannot remember how many time >> like um So, so you would go up was it when you were working as the selfch checkckout person, >> you'd go up and you take the receipt? >> Yes. And then you'd go get a couple items. >> Yes. >> And then you would um return them to Publix. >> Yes. >> And get the uh >> gift card. >> Gift cards. Or do you put it on your credit card? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um what what type of items were you like what type of items were you getting off the receipt? >> So that is wine. >> Wine. >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> Okay. >> And then some certain item with a bit of vitamins. >> Vitamins. some not really I don't know consider vitamins or not maybe you know under the health kit because should be something like vitamins something like >> okay all right >> the most on these two items >> how many how many items usually would you get in like a like a let's just say one day you would just get a few a whole bunch >> no >> maybe one day one two not every day >> okay but you would do it like Every day you were working or how long? >> I work five days but not I don't do it five days, maybe two days. >> Okay. >> Or maybe one day depends. >> But the date. So you would go to work um you get a receipt, go get a couple items and then return it that same day. >> No, >> no. >> Maybe the next sometime I don't get the same I don't get the item the same day. Maybe I get it next day. Of course, not every day. As I told you, I not every day. I promise it's not every day, but I will return after maybe three to four days or maybe a week. >> And [clears throat] you know that it was thousands of dollars in returns. >> Yeah. Accumulate, of course. Yes. But not one day. >> No, no, no, no, no. But over time it was thousands of dollars. Okay. All right. Um, just give me a minute. Okay. Do you need any more water? >> Yes. >> Yeah, a little bit. Okay. >> You want the top? >> Who do you work for? Public supermarkets. What is your position? >> Loss prevention specialist. >> Okay. Uh in reference to this investigation, what uh part do you play? And who are we investigating? I guess an internal public's employee. Is that correct? >> Yep. Cashier with public store number 1018. >> And what was this cashier's name? >> Sumin Liber Bomb. >> Okay. Do you mind just telling us kind of a synopsis of what occurred and how you guys came about finding and identifying? >> Yeah. uh she was caught because she was um she'd go in and she'd reprint receipts and you can see where she a customer would leave and then she'd go behind the customer and reprint the receipt of that customer's purchase. >> Okay. >> So, and then she would So, she do the reprint. There's her getting the reprint. And then she'd go to different stores. >> Okay. and she'd go and she'd find those items on those receipts. >> Right. So, this is her in the store. >> This is her Yeah. at a store, another store. 1749. And she would go through and look for what's on the receipts. She would select what's on the receipts and then she would um put them in a bag and uh and steal that product that's on those receipts. So she put them in the in the Publix bags. >> So she wouldn't pay for them while she was there. She'd walk out. >> Yeah. She would she would walk straight out what she stole. >> Okay. >> And then she'd go to other stores in the area and she'd use those. That's her right there. She'd use those receipts. >> Okay. >> And she would do refunds. and she put those refunds on her personal credit card. So, what caused the what was on the investigation was that our corporate uh there was a there's a program that's able to search for certain things and it saw where there was one credit card that got a significant amount of refunds uh like multiple throughout like a full day. Uh so the investigation started and then started backtracking to when those purchases were made of those uh returned items and we found out that uh Miss was the one who was uh causing the loss to Publix by reprinting the receipts, >> reshopping those receipts at different stores and then returning them for um money on her credit card. >> Okay. >> All right. And um how long of a period of time was she? Do you know or >> it was uh it started in February. >> Okay. >> In the in February is when it started. Um and then we interviewed her on July um second where she admitted to uh reprinting receipts, shopping those receipt, reshopping those receipts, and then going and getting refunds and put on her credit card. Okay. Her personal credit card. And how much I guess has been found that she refunded or stole from Publix? >> It was over. Right now we're still looking through it was over um $6,900. I have it written down. >> Okay. How long was she employee for Publix? Do we know? >> She was an employee for a year. >> For a year. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, I gave you the exact the exact date was in the file. The paperwork that was >> All right. Yeah. Um Okay. And you said you did interview her and she admitted to um the scheme. >> Yes. >> What did she state? anything else uh in reference to why she was doing it or you know >> she said because she had to pay off her credit card debt. She also stated at one point that she needed to buy a plane ticket to go to uh her home country. >> Okay. >> So work for you guys for a year. All right. Over $6,500. Um is there any other information you'd like to add to this? Uh I know that there's a lot of video um that you guys have researched and found that you guys have shared into the evidence. Um you'll be providing all this >> video and an updated uh total amount visual amount of product. >> Okay. >> Right. We'll have those uh on uh on paperwork that we can send you that shows the updated. Do you know through I guess either what you've done or the other public's lost prevention um investigators, do you know how many times she has reprinted receipts or >> attempted to return? >> Last time I was checked, she returned 222 times. >> Okay. >> Was the >> items or she was gone back 222 times. >> She gone in stores 222 times doing >> okay. >> Doing returns. That was the average that we uh we were able to pull up.
