Basically, want to talk to you about something. You match the description of a female that we're looking for right now. Why are you out of breath? What's going on? >> Oh, no. I was on the phone. I just got wet. >> Okay. >> You said I matched what? >> You match the description of a female we're looking for. You mind if I get your ID? >> Yeah. I matched the description? >> Did you uh Did you go to Carters at all? >> Did we do what? >> Did you go to Carters? >> I have bought something from here. >> So, you bought something from there? What did you get? >> I got my receipt and everything. >> Okay. All right. We'll just get your ID and then we'll We'll confirm if it's you and all right. All right. So, she do got a Carters bag, so she's dressed up on the receipt. So, just ask them. >> Copy. I'll be on my way. >> So, what? >> Oh, she got a Carters bag? >> Yeah. >> Okay. We're going to figure it out. >> I called you guys as she was running the corner and her breasts were suddenly huge because she stuffed all the product down her shirt um and into her purse. >> About how much did you think they took? >> a thousand dollars. >> A thousand dollars? >> Wow. They took >> You could probably itemize her receipt. We're out with one of the females. Um she does have a Carters bag. Uh we'll be at the Nike store. >> Everything. What What did she say about Carters? What was supposed to be said about Carters? >> All right. They're at the Nike store, at least one of them. Are you able to walk over there and ID them? Uh ma'am, can you just step out of the car for me, please? Okay. All right, let me see your bag. >> My stuff come back negative for weed. >> You're not under arrest. All right, you're just detained right now. All right. >> Well, I ain't doing nothing. So, I know I ain't under arrest. >> Is that your phone over there? >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. Well, right now you're just going to be detained, okay? So, I have to place you in cuffs. >> Well, I don't think I'm detained, though. >> You're not under arrest. Like we said, you match the description of somebody that stole items from Carter's. Okay, you have a Carter's bag. And once they go over there where they say it is or not you, then we'll talk to you further on that, all right? >> I don't steal nothing. All my stuff right there. >> That's why I said, like once they confirm it is or not you, if it's not you, then we'll let you go, but if it is you, then we'll have to talk about that, all right? We'll head back there and look at cameras. You guys got cameras, right? >> Yes, we do. >> I'm just going to read you something to you, okay? Cuz you are entitled to your rights. You're not under arrest. You're just detained, but I have to read you your rights, okay? You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used as evidence against you. You have the right to an attorney. You can have an attorney have them here with you now at any time during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to represent you. If at any time you wish to stop talking or have an attorney present, all questioning will be stopped at your request. Do you understand your rights? >> Yes. >> With these rights in mind, do you want to talk to me or any one of my partners that come on scene and ask you questions? >> Okay. >> Yes? >> I want to talk to him and his other partners cuz I'm trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do, myself. >> Well, that's what he's trying to figure out, too. Um apparently, we just got a call about, you know, two uh two females matching the description of you're wearing. Um my partner saw you go inside the vehicle. Um and that's pretty much it. Uh someone just stealing from Carter's. You have a Carter's bag, right? >> right here. >> Okay, but you have a Carter's bag, okay? And, you know, we have to make sure that everything is accounted for in that bag. >> Okay. >> Okay? But, um that's what we're here for. And it's, you know, it's kind of a little suspicious that you're you're not even in the driver's seat. You're in the passenger seat. So, where's the front? >> Where's the phone? >> Where's the driver at? >> My sister. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I'm waiting on her. She She Well, one of these cars, I don't what one is my sister's. Oh, going to do. You know? I don't know. I don't really follow her. >> Wish we could grab two of them. You know, you know, one is better than none, right? >> You want me to put your phone in front of so I can give it to you right there? Yeah, that's fine. >> There's no entry. >> How long is it going to take her to get over here? >> Who? >> Who you waiting on? >> I'm waiting on my partner to see. >> Basically, they going to bring somebody over here, right? >> Say where they do is you will wait to see where they not you. If they not you, then we let you go over there and see if they want to have a conversation and see what they want to do, right? I want to see where my partner is at. This is radio is for right here. Restrooms? I don't know if it's over there or over here somewhere. I have no idea. >> all the way down next to Auntie Anne's. That's the only one I can think You got that side? That side? Okay, she was in there. I I would like to know what she seen me, too. >> I'm going to walk up behind the truck here real quick. Positive ID. >> Okay. What's going to happen? I don't know when the other man going to come over to see me. >> The woman insists that she has not stolen anything and even says the merchandise in her possession was purchased, but the officers are waiting for the other suspect to be identified before making that determination. The investigation is about to get much more serious. >> Officer is walking somewhere. If he is not over there >> She was out with her baby daddy. That's what I'm saying. I don't know if she left with him. I'll have to call her. >> Got you. Is this your car? >> No. >> Where's the car you came in? >> This is the car I came in, but it's not my car. >> She was sitting inside. Okay. Where's your sister now? >> know. My stuff is right here that I got I all my stuff is right here with my receipt. Why don't she tell you? >> your sister at? >> I don't know. She might have went with her baby daddy. She was out here with him. >> You want to call her? >> I Y'all going to take us out? >> Yeah. You want to call her? >> Yeah, I'll call her. >> Okay. >> All right, call her then. >> Let's call her. >> I'm not taking off the gloves. >> You want me to call her with the car phone? >> Just have to call her. >> Can I have what the car's on? >> I don't know what the car's on for you to do. >> You just need to change her right now. >> Probably takes her into the market. >> Okay. >> Did you leave with Marco or you still here? She gone. >> Okay. Perfect. We'll do a warrant for her and then she'll be taking a ride, too. You can hang up the phone now. >> Taking a ride for what? I didn't steal anything. I I have my stuff right here. I didn't steal anything. >> This is where the story starts to change. The officers say the store has already reviewed its cameras and identified the woman. She continues to deny stealing anything and asked to see the footage. But the officers say the store's evidence is what brought them to her in the first place. >> Hey, look. This is crazy. So, you're trying to take me to jail and I didn't take anything? >> Well, they have you on camera. >> I didn't take anything. >> But it says otherwise. >> Where is it on the camera? It's hard to show me. >> They looked at it already. >> They already looked at >> That's why they called us. They gave a description of my sister. description of assistant and stuff like that. >> Yeah. >> I mean, you taking a ride, she's not. She said she ain't here. She just have a warrant out for arrest. >> You're saying you paid for these? >> Yes. >> Is there a receipt in here for these? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> The woman says she paid for her merchandise and has a receipt. But the officers are questioning whether the receipt actually accounts for everything in the bag. That difference could become critical when the store's evidence is compared with the items recovered. >> You guys ready yet or know. >> Yeah. >> So, you want to talk? >> Yeah, she talked. She said basically uh she went in there to buy some stuff. She didn't steal nothing. All that stuff that's on her seat is stuff that's in the bag. And that's about it. >> Okay. >> I thought y'all said y'all was going to get her to identify me so I could show her that I didn't take anything. >> She identified you. We put the flashlight in her face. She identified you. >> Except this is a receipt from Sam's Club. >> That's what I'm saying. All my stuff is paid for. When I went in there, I was exchanging. Uh she held my stuff at the counter literally for me. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. >> my stuff at the counter. So, what did I steal when you held my stuff at the counter? It's the same bag I had. >> What car is y'alls? >> That's the same That's not my car. >> Is this the car you guys came in? >> No. >> She's chilling in She's chilling in >> was driving when I got it. >> It's her car. So, is there anything in the car? >> No. >> You got the keys for the car? No. Can we search the car? >> No. >> Well, it's not her car. >> It's not mine, and I'm not giving no authority to search no like car. >> Well, it's not your car, so you can't give that authority anyway. >> This is the girl that So, the one lady came in, brought it to the counter, she went behind, and already took some baby girl items, left the store, and came back again. >> Okay. All right. >> I'm going to get you a tow truck. >> The total is $48. >> Copy that. >> If you have any statement, go ahead and tell me. I ain't got time for all this. Go ahead and do what y'all going to do. She said this and that. I know I'm going to beat it cuz I didn't steal nothing out of there. So. >> Copy that. >> Uh we'll have security come over and tow it, and uh we'll just have to do the inventory prior to towing. >> Oh, what you got to do. >> Oh, you want to just search it? >> She said she told me something. She lying. She didn't see me steal nothing. Let me see my phone. >> No, it's okay. >> No, hang it up cuz it's calling somebody. I didn't try to call nobody. You can't hang it up. It's calling somebody. Can you hang it up? I don't know who's on the phone. I don't know who's on my phone. Can you please hang it up? >> What do you want to do inside? >> Let's go over here so nobody sees me on my phone. I don't know who that is. >> Okay, come >> Let's go over here. I got stuff in my bag so I can put it right there. >> Go right here to this straw hut? >> I've been very nice and everything and all that and I don't feel like nobody like tell me at least like when I know what's going on like >> We do. >> No, tell me what's going I don't know somebody that I don't know what's going on. >> We have to search you here before you go in. >> Okay. >> Okay. When we get to the our police department, the office is over there. I'm pretty sure they'll let you call somebody. Or get you a number so where you can call. >> I call her? >> She needs to do her job now. We have to do our job. >> She claimed that she had to do a exchange because she had twin baby boys that were a year old. >> Yeah, but look at this. Card declined, canceled. Card declined, canceled. So they're using They're using stolen credit cards. Look at all these different cards that are declined. >> Perfect. >> Woah. >> Canceled, canceled, canceled. Declined. Declined. We'll see if it's on her property now. And the front video is going to show her stuff and all the stuff in her >> This is a no sale. Every single transaction on here is declined. >> Hey, do you want to go see the video you want to watch? >> Yeah. I'll go in there real quick. If he can just Does he have her in the car? >> Yeah, they're in the >> Yeah. >> Get her out there. >> All All those transactions are declined transactions. >> Okay. Where is that? My phone ringing? >> Huh? >> Is that my phone ringing? >> I Okay, we'll follow Follow her. Watch your feet. There's another big bag up here. >> Okay. >> Cool. So we need itemized receipts for that. >> The amount of merchandise now being recovered is becoming significant. Officers are finding multiple bags of Carter's merchandise and are asking for itemized receipts to determine what was actually purchased and what may have been taken. >> Era Is this all yours OshKosh? >> Um I don't know. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm sorry. >> Yeah. >> The other suspect driver's license. >> I'm going to run it. >> Yes. >> This is all Carter's. This one is heavy as hell. >> That's That's all you got, too? >> Yeah, this says all Carter's. >> I'm going to try to retry the 630. >> I got one. >> Go ahead. >> It's going to have a felony hold on it. >> Huh? >> It's going to have a felony hold on it. >> Why would it have a felony hold on it? >> Because I'm putting a felony hold on it. >> Why are you putting a felony hold on it? >> Because they're using it to commit a massive amount of retail theft and fraud. >> But Peanut just called me from the jail. They let her use her phone. So, I can't get her. >> Got you. Well, regardless, the other girl was nice enough to leave her wallet and ID and everything. >> Your car is keeping the hold. >> Were you at the window?
