Are you guys okay? Went through a minute ago straight. I see a corner. Thought >> you were going to take my truck out. >> Did you pull right here? You're being pulled over. >> What did I do? >> Speeding. >> No, I wasn't speeding. >> You were speeding? Yes, ma'am. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW. GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. AND NOW YOU'RE SPEEDING OFF. On June 5th, 2026, a deputy in Florida initiated a traffic stop after clocking a driver going 40 in a 25 mph residential zone. What should have been a simple speeding citation took a dramatic turn the moment the deputy tried to hand over the ticket. Here's what the deputy did next. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> Did you pull right here? You're being pulled over. >> What did I do? >> Speeding. >> No, sir. I wasn't speeding. >> You were speeding? Yes, ma'am. Visual observation and I got my radar. >> Okay, let me see. >> Nope. Driver's eyes registration proof insurance. All right. Driver's eyes registration proof insurance. >> You're not going to give me I'm not >> Driver's license registration proof insurance. What? I >> I don't even know where to pay for it. Just thought they just give it to me. I I want you to get the information out for me, ma'am. I'm not going to take an envelope. Is that to your insurance or what? >> I don't know. That's what they gave to me. I don't know. I just >> Driver's license. >> I don't believe so and that's where we supposed to come here and retire. >> You guys hire us to be in this neighborhood enforce traffic laws. >> Uh, sir, here you go. [clears throat] >> All right. You wait here. Here's your documents. I'm going to take your license and your registration. While the deputy writes out the citation, Carlen makes a risky move, putting the car in motion while chatting with a friend on the phone. Recognizing the potential breach of scene safety, the deputy quickly intervenes and ends the interaction. >> Park your car right here. Stop moving. Stop. No. No. I don't want to talk to your friend at all. Park your car. I don't care. Park No. Park your car. Park your car. >> Hello. You want to talk to him? >> No, I'm not talking to him. Park your car. Park your car. >> You want to say >> No, I do not. Park your car. Put your hazards on. >> Okay. >> I'm not dealing with this. >> 2026 White Honda utility vehicle. >> Oh, been found for speed before. All right. You going to get >> You're getting a citation today. Do not do not reach. >> Oh, okay. What am I supposed to do? >> I I'm going to >> I'm explaining to you. Okay. >> You're getting a citation today. Okay. There's three ways to handle this. All right. Your speed was 40 and a 25. My radar got you going 44 and I estimated you going 40. So I'm going to write you 40. Okay, that's unacceptable. And you're arguing with me and you failed to stop as well. Okay, you're about to drive right. >> When I failed to stop you, you almost told me to pull over and I pull over. >> I told you to stop and you were just right. You're going to drive right past me. Okay. >> I Yeah. And pull over and pull over. >> No, you were very close. If I had to get my car and get after you, you would be going to jail right now. Okay. >> Oh my god. I pull over. I didn't know you want me to just stop suddenly like that. >> I I waved to you numerous times and you didn't stop until you were right next to me or actually almost past me, right? >> You were almost past me and you didn't you weren't going to me. >> I thought there was a way to do it. I'm sorry. We always do it. >> You're supposed to slow down and then >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Slow down, please. >> That's your ticket. I told you >> you're speeding 40 and a 25. And now you're speeding off. >> With a single choice, Carlen escalates a simple traffic infraction into a serious felony offense. Now fleeing the scene, she triggers an immediate response as the deputy begins searching the surrounding neighborhood to locate Carlen. >> Where' she even drive home? Where'd she drive to? Where' she drive to? Tango 97400 Southwest 7th Avenue Road, New Jersey 57 uniform tango. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out OF THE CAR NOW. GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> Where's my 1050? The attempted stopmobile again is driving recklessly through the neighborhood and they're fleeing from a traffic stop. >> Sweeping the area, the deputy stops pedestrians and construction crews to gauge just how wild the chase got. >> Here when she drove, did she almost hit you guys? >> Well, I was afraid it was going to >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Going so damn fast. >> Well, how fast she was going fast? >> Very fast. >> Very fast. Okay. >> Okay. I appreciate your time. All right. Are you guys okay? >> Went through a minute ago street. >> Okay, I got you. I I can't chase her. She's in the right social neighborhood. But did she almost hit y'all or was she going fast? >> Yeah, she was going. >> She's going fast. Yeah, >> on that corner. >> She's going to take my truck out. >> Okay. Um I appreciate it. All right. >> Thank you. [clears throat] >> Carlen ditches her vehicle at a nearby store, but her luck runs out outside Walmart when another deputy spots her. Now deputies converge to force her into cuffs, but Carlen won't go quietly. Yeah, there we go. >> This is what's going on. >> No, come on. I'll just get in the car. Let me just get in the car. Please drop your stuff. Please >> drop your stuff now. Drop your stuff. >> Please let me just >> You're going for resisting as well. >> Please don't do that. Please, please don't do that. My I have a bad shoulder. I swear to God, I have a I have a really bad shoulder. Please don't do that. Please put it in front of me. >> Getting in hot. Please. Can I? >> No. >> Please. Oh my god, that hurts. Please don't do that. Please. >> Please. I I got >> Come on. Please. I'm going to beat myself. >> Oh my god. >> Oh god. Okay. >> All right. I I ain't worried right now. >> I'm here for shoplifting followup. >> Oh, really? Yeah. Nice. And she was just walking or >> Yeah, she she was walking up to the front. >> Oh, wow. >> And I was just like I just grabbed her by the hand. I walked her to my car and I was just going to quickly put her in handcuffs and I didn't want to hurt her cuz she's old. >> Yeah. No, she's like that. Hold on. Let me uh move my car in a lot. I don't know. >> No, we're not calling you a friend. Please, can I have my pocket open? I need to call my friend. >> No. I >> I need to make one phone call. All right. >> Officer, I'm claustrophobic. Can I sit in the front? >> No. >> I swear to God, I'm claustrophobic. Officer, I'M SWEAR TO GOD, I'M CLAUSTROPHOBIC. PLEASE HELP ME. >> I'm claustrophobic. >> There you go. >> Please. Please help me. Um, I stopped originally for speed 40 and 25. I gave her a ticket for speed. She asked was this ticket for us at speed. She sped off in the traffic stop at a high rate speed. Um, like ran to the stop sign at So I tried chase out her stop for the stop sign violation. Well, she was gone. Couldn't find her. So, I went to her house. She wasn't there. So, I drive back to one of the roads. I see her car driving past me. I was like, "Is that her?" Look at the tag. I was like, "Yep, it's her." So, I try to get behind her and she then starts speeding. Now, no lights on. Starts speeding through the neighborhood, goes around a car, almost runs over people, then continues straight. So, then I'm like, "All right, well, now there's another traffic violation." So, I put my lights on, try to get caught up to her. She goes around a culac and like parks on the grass. So, I get out, open the door. I'm like, "Set out of the car." I'm not stepping out. She takes off. I'm like, "All right, I'm not chasing." So, yeah, she left in the car. So, I was like, "I'm not chasing from the traffic stop. I'm just going to let her go and we'll try to find her again." So, so I let her go and that was it. Uh, she's coming for followup. She sees her walking to the front of the store and uh then tries to tame her. She resists and then we get her cuffed. She uh she wasn't in the vehicle now. She was on foot, but I was up at her window talking to her in her vehicle when she fled. >> Yeah. All 100% identified right now. So, it'll be uh PC. I'm going to do uh Fleet Hulu and then reckless driving cuz she um I don't think I turned my lights on and she was like already speeding and almost ran into two people. Let me read something to you. I want to understand your mindset. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Can you say can we use against you for law though? Please help me. >> You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present if you are being questioned. If you do not afford to hire a lawyer, one will appoint you before any question. If you wish, decide any time to answer these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. >> I'm Chrisophobic. I LET US OPEN. I just wait till the sergeant come. I won't. >> No, you slipped your cuffs to the front. Or did you do that? >> She did that. >> Okay, you did that. No, you're not to be trusted. All right. Car's locked. It's secured. All our stuff's in here. Boom. When deputies go to check on Carlen, the situation suddenly takes an unexpected turn. Miss Carlen, stop. Now she's Now, >> come on. >> Are you serious? >> Get up. >> She's moving. >> Yeah, I know. >> She like dived out of the car. >> Yeah. >> Um, you want to Come on. This is ridiculous. >> Stop grabbing me. Stand up. >> Stand up. Carlen, stand up. >> I'm going to ask if he wants me reference check on female. >> Yeah, >> I know her. Can I talk to her? >> You know her? How do you know her? >> I know her from the squ. I know she looks retired. >> Yeah. If you want to try to talk to her. Colleen. Colleen. Come on. Colleen. Colleen. >> This pavement's hot. Carlen. >> Colleen. Come on. Colleen. Let them do their job. >> Colleen. is she diabetic or is her husband diabetic? >> She's not diabetic, but she could have went into um >> what do you call it? Hysterical um >> what >> she a hysterical >> hysterical >> like a seizure or something like that or like because Is it she known to have the historical Caesars or whatever they're called? >> She's how you struggle. >> What? >> Okay, >> we're familiar with her. >> She is. I'm not. >> What are they going to do with her now? >> She's going to jail. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. Sorry. >> I I I get that. >> Yeah. She almost got arrested because at first when she um she almost ran for me on the traffic stop. I tried to stop her. She just almost went past me. Um, and then she speeds off and try to stop, runs to the stop sign at the intersection, and then makes a left. I try to catch up to her. She's gone. >> Carlane. >> All right. Do they set bail? How did this work? >> Uh, 2500, then 1,000 for resisting. She resisted. Also, she got reckless driving. She almost hit two pedestrians when she was driving recklessly. I wasn't even behind her. I was just trying to get cops to initiate another traffic stop. >> No, I'm just explaining. I'm trying to initiate another traffic stop. Um she then from there kept on driving at fast pace to the residential community. It's 20 m per hour. She's going 40. Okay. >> So she get another ticket for that as well. Okay. So >> So let's see 2500,000 and >> she ran two stop signs. So she's getting two tickets for stop sign violations as well. >> Those are $166 a piece. >> And bullying and looting is a felony. So >> yeah, I know that. >> So [clears throat] I'm probably resisting arrest without violence. >> Mhm. >> Yep. It didn't have to go this way. I mean, I I >> It was super simple. >> It was just take your ticket and go. And she sped off from the traffic stop, ran stop sign, and I was like, "No, we're not going." >> Come on. >> You try to get in the car. I hate her laying here on the pavement. >> We can try. >> Nope. Get up. >> They're going to take you either way. >> You're just going to go to the hospital first and then you'll probably >> take you to the hospital and check you out. >> Her car is also going to be left here as well. I'm just leaving the parking lot. It's like in this row. All right. So, >> anyway, I can get the uh keys for >> if she decides to talk to us and say that you can have the keys, then that's fine. You got to talk to him. If you don't talk to him, I can't I can't even help you. >> EMS arrives at the scene to evaluate Carlen. >> She's been resisting acting erratic and now she's acting like she's passing out. So, she has some type of like >> Sir, what was that thing you were saying earlier about her? >> Yeah, she could have hysterical seizures or something because it stress her out real >> So, what was she doing? She was screaming um saying that she was claustrophobic and then she just slumped over here and we opened the door and she dove out head first on just been walking around here. >> She know she's been running around reckless almost hit people and yeah she has erratic behavior right now. So lude resisting reckless driving. >> So we're just checking her out. >> Yeah. Just jail clearance that she can go to jail. >> Yeah. >> Because every time we try to pick her up. >> Let's just do it here. Come on, Carlen. Get >> here. Sit up. All right. All right. >> She won't. She won't. We're going to just have to pick her up. >> Get under it. >> Oh, she's awake magically. >> Well, she was passing a car and people were walking the road and she was speeding and almost hit them and they jumped out of the way. Yeah. And I'm like, "What the heck?" So that that's another violation right there. So I was like, "All right, now now I have a reason to another reason to stop her." So then I try to get copter. She's going 40 and 20 the whole way. Yeah. So, I'm just glad I was able to get her off the road and then we were able to find her here at the Walmart. Uh cuz I was going to do a warrant. I was just a warrant and go kick in her door and get her. So, but I tried to interview her, do read Marina. She was not going to. She just kept saying she's claustrophobic. Is she Do we have any documentation she's claustrophobic at all or anything like that? Okay. So, she doesn't like have any medical problems. She's just mainly trying to play a game essentially. All right. All right. Well, I'm going to go sit here watching body camera, get all my dictation ready. That way I can get in and out of jail cuz I might just be working today. So that's that's the only upsets me right now is because like this is not even planned. Like I'm not trying to get in places today. >> Knock it off. I'm done. I'm done. I'm not playing games. You're 67 years old. This is ridiculous. >> Okay. Yeah. Maybe if you didn't dive out of our chill car at first. >> I don't think you're winning an Emmy anytime soon. Don't grab him. You touch him again, I'm going to charge you with battery on He's not going to charge. >> I will. >> Hey, you got Bat on EMS, too. >> Oh, nice. >> You're fine. Stop. You >> want to put him behind her? Kept grabbing him after he told her specifically not to. Okay. You need to get to my head. My head. No. No. No. I want Oh god, >> it's not coming out. >> Stop. Move your hand. >> Oh Jesus. your job. >> You're coming. >> No, he's not coming. >> You're going to jail. >> I need >> Stand up. I need >> Stand up. Do you want him to take your car? >> Do you want me to take your car? >> Yes or no? >> Yes or no? >> Okay. No. Got him. Let me let me let me >> get in the car. >> Get in the car. Get in the car now. Get in the car. Get in the car. >> Let me let me but Jesus Christ in. Let me get in. >> No. Get in the car. Get in the car. >> Take my Put my arm clasophobic. I'M CLAUSTROPHOBIC. I CAN'T STAY HERE. I'M CLAUSTROPHOBIC. OH MY GOD. I'm claustrophobic. >> Barry on Leo. You're going to get that great two. Karen Leo, you're serving your intimate. All right. >> I'm claustrophobic. I am claustrophobic of each other. >> Shut up on EMS. >> All right. Uh, I need to get his information. >> Oh, hey, man. >> I'm going to get your information real quick so I can add you to the report. We do battery on the EMS. Uh, where's she touch you at? >> She's just like grabbing my wrist. >> Grab your wrist and all that. Okay. All right. Cool. >> Crazy. >> All right. Yeah. Yeah. I just want to make sure we have that documented for you. All right. I appreciate it. Was she grabbing it like with both her hands or one hand? >> Like one hand and like, you know, like like this and trying to, you know, >> trying to push her hands away. And I'm not trying to push my hands away. Just like she's like trying to get me to I don't know like understand what her complaint is. Like >> you told her stop multiple times. >> Yeah. To me, no big deal. >> I got you. All right. You want to press charges or >> just annoying? >> Let's go to the jail. All right. >> Oh my god, my head is hurting so bad. I fell on my head. So bad. >> It's hot in here. Can you put it the AC on? It >> is on, man. >> I don't feel it. >> One quick question. Can I ask you? >> Yeah. >> If, let's say, the bail is $5,000 >> Uhhuh. >> can she bail herself out with a credit card? I'm asking question. >> Okay. >> Once they go to jail and the jail accepts them, that's the end of my >> Oh, yeah. I don't have many answers past that. Well, she has a no bond now because she decided to batter our lovely AMS worker. >> Oh, she hit him. >> She was grabbing onto him and batteries any touch or strike. He specifically said, "Stop grabbing me three times." And she refused to comply. >> Now she can't get out. Now she can't get out until tomorrow morning at first appearance. >> After the arrest, Carlen was charged with felony fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer along with misdemeanor for resisting an officer without violence and reckless driving. She also received traffic citations for speeding and running a stop sign. [music] She was held on a $4,000 bond, which she later posted. At this time, the case is still ongoing.
