So, >> where's it at? >> Um >> somewhere in the house. >> Somewhere in the house? >> Yeah. >> You want us to grab it? >> No, I don't need it. I know my mom's number by >> Well, we need to bring it down with us. >> I don't even know where it is. Like I said, >> Well, it'd be easier if you just told us where it is. >> I really don't. I really I'm I'm telling y'all now. >> I I I left my phone. Um >> if we if we ask your mom >> if we ask your mom where it's at, would she tell us? >> What kind of phone do you got? We'll ask your mom. >> I got an iPhone. >> iPhone. Okay. >> Yeah. >> She's up here. >> She in a maroon shirt. >> I have no >> I can get in the cruiser. >> Yep. >> No harm on this. You can check my mom right there. You see my mom right there? And I also want to talk to my mom >> right there. >> At headquarters, detectives explain Loe's rights before asking for her account. >> Okay. So, I can say a few times you've been read your mirroring before. Okay. >> And um do you read? Do you speak English? >> Yes. >> Isn't that kind of weird? I've been talking to you for 5 minutes. >> But yeah, I speak English. I read. >> You don't read well. So, but can you read and write a little bit? >> Yeah, I can read and write. >> I'm going to put yes, but I'll put a little. And uh what's the highest grade you've completed? >> I can't even remember that I know I was in high school. >> So you didn't you did not graduate then? No. >> I'm just going to put did not graduate. >> Do you have a hearing problem? >> No. >> Do you wear glasses or contacts or anything? >> No. >> Um in the last 12 to 24 hours, have you had any alcoholic beverages? >> No. >> Have you used uh illegal narcotics in the last 12 24 hours? >> Marijuana. >> Marijuana button. How much? >> Um, I just smoked a little bit like maybe 30 minutes before I called in on myself. >> Help calm you down a little bit. >> Um, no. I rather a cigarette, but I smoked a lot of those and still didn't. So, I need another one. So, >> I gotcha. Um, just a little blunt or >> just a little >> blunt about half an hour before you call. >> Okay. We just want to make sure you're not intoxicated, you understand what's going on. >> We just want to make sure you know what the process is. Um, so I'm going to read this out loud. Um, it's this is our formal way of doing it and uh you can follow along if you want to. >> Okay? >> But before we ask any questions, you must understand your rights. You have the right to remain desire. If you wish to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you have the right to stop answering anytime. You also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer. Do you have any questions about that? Does that make sense to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Cuz clearly you want to talk to us and and figure this out. Um so can you read this out loud for me? Try. I know you >> I have read and been read the statement of my rights as written above. I understand my rights. >> Excellent. You agree with that and you understand your rights? Okay. If you don't mind saying right there that you that you understand your rights. >> Um, so what do you want to tell us? I mean, >> okay. Um, my girlfriend told me she had something to tell me and I went and met up with her. Well, we got dropped. I I came to her house. She said her son was missing. And when she said her son was missing, I came to help look for him. So when we was out there and they asked us to leave the house for the police, I mean, it was hours, so it was the same thing for hours. The police looking for him, us walking around looking for him. But after all of that, they asked us to remove the cats and the children. And we went and sat in her friend's car. And when we sat in her friend's car, the officer at first told her that she could, you know, leave. Then all of her officers said that she could um she had to stay there and sign some paper and she had to be the only one that be there when the dogs go in with, you know. So after she they said that, uh she walked up there with the detective and came back down to the car. I thought she signed the paper and then we left off and we got dropped off at my mom's and she had talked to she talked to the detectives and I was asking her like, you know, what's going on, she wouldn't really tell me at first. So, when she had told me finally came out and told me after the body was found in the house, she had told me what was going on. She said she didn't want to lose both of her sons because her 9-year-old had beat her other son in death with a rock. So the police wanted to talk to me yesterday. And when they came, the detectives came to my mom's house. I had just walked out the house and then, you know, I went to go take her some water. But that's way before I knew about the body. this way before cuz I don't know what time they had found it. >> Okay. >> So, when um when she told me all I could do is say, "You got to you got to tell them the truth. You got to tell them that your 9-year-old killed your 8-year-old with a rock." And then she was like, "But I don't want to lose my son." I said, "Well, you already lost one. You're going to go to jail. I'm being at risk, you know, helping you out. I just need you to turn yourself in. So, I convinced her. Well, it never happened. Y'all said I thought I convinced her to turn herself in about um I don't know, maybe 11 or 12 when we split ways >> this morning. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, I went to my mom's house and I sat there, told them that I loved them and I spoke a little tongue. We have heard multiple people, we've heard you say that Leonda treats Martonio different. Mar Leonda has said she doesn't want him. He throws temper tantrum says she didn't want him. >> No, no, you're not listening to me. You're listening to one thing. I didn't say you said all of it, but you have said that he she he is treated differently. You have said some other things. My point is other witnesses and other family members listen to me. Okay? You can't listen if you're talking. >> You and other people have said that she treats him differently, that she didn't want him, wanted to give him up, that he listen to me, >> you're not listening. I'm going to use your own logic against you. All these people have said that she doesn't like him, that these that the punishments were extreme and that they were bad and that she treated him poorly and kept him from eating and didn't let him get food. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. I'm telling you. I've seen it. >> They're not listening. So that's why we believe that she could have done this >> and you're saying you can see he did it. Guess what? Everybody else, all the adults can believe that she did this because she was mad at him and he kept doing stuff and she had enough. And you're covering for >> I'm not covering for nothing. And like I said, I got an attorney on his way and I ain't got to say nothing else. >> You don't have to at all. But you can also get charged with the same crime she's getting charged with. >> I'm not getting charged with nothing because I just told you I don't know. >> That's not true. >> That's not true. You are charged with something and you could get charged with more. >> Okay. Like I said, what I said, I never really seen her go to the extreme. She might have him standing in the corner for 2 and 1/2 hours. got to do the same thing. I never seen him get duct taped, brutally beaten in front of me. I'm not her friends. >> I'm not her friend. >> So, I mean, it's all recorded. >> Yes. I mean, there's cameras, there's we all on TV. >> I mean, this it has to be recorded. We don't want >> But that this is again my point is you're not helping us. It's like y said she not didn't turn herself in and she did. >> I did not lie. >> When the police came out and talked to my mom and they said that. >> So we were we were the officers that talked to them. >> Okay. So here's the thing. >> Like I done seen so much and everything is confusing me right now. >> You said your DNA is all in those trash bags. >> That's my trash bags. I wash her clothes. >> The thing of it is here. Okay. >> It came from my mom's house. I wash clothes. I take >> How do you know which bag was used? >> Only trash bag is there is from my mom's house. She didn't have no trash bags. So, I'm telling y'all right now >> that our DNA is on it. That's what I >> I wash clothes. >> Okay, let me look. The thing of it is >> I mean I wash clothes and I take trash back. I take my clothes remember what I said about the DNA and finding it on him. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You only helped after the fact. >> I helped what? >> We know you didn't hurt him. We know you didn't hurt him. >> I didn't help after the fact. I'm telling y'all the any trash bags. I bring trash bags with my clothes in there over all the time. I wash her clothes all the time and bring trash bags or I didn't brought trash bags that's not even open where she don't have trash bags >> because the thing of it is with the DNA and we and when we find that >> Mhm. >> we It's either you're being honest with us and tell us or you can be charged with murder. >> Like I said, I touched I touch hella bags in the house. I touch >> the >> You're You're doing so well. >> I'm just telling y'all what I'm I'm telling you, >> John. >> Like I said, wherever he was found, you could look and see that I didn't touch >> nothing on it that you're this far. >> Okay, I'm >> You only helped after the fact. >> I didn't help no fact. That's what I keep saying. I didn't help. No fact. >> Your DNA is going to be there >> because I bring trash bags over there all the time with my clothes. >> Say that. Do you >> My attorney is going to go to court and talk. >> Y'all don't think that I don't have attorneys coming. >> So, you want to be charged with murder? >> I'm I'm not the murderer. I don't I haven't murdered nobody. She told me her son >> charged with it. You helped tamp evidence. >> I didn't tamper with nothing. I'm telling you. >> Are you going to tell a jury? Because you you could be charged. >> I bring trash bags there all the time, y'all. >> That's what you're going to tell the jury. Do you think a jury's going to believe that >> you were gone? You were gone for two days. Multiple bags. >> It doesn't matter. Yes. You're on it. You're done. >> All you got to do >> I was on the run. Where was I on the run? >> Exactly. You weren't with us. You weren't helping us. You weren't answering questions. >> Turn herself in. And that's but that >> not even turn herself inury talk to y'all. >> No jury is gonna believe that >> my lawyer is gonna talk y'all. >> He's good. >> That's not trust and believe that whatever his name my mom got him and I'm trust and believe he's going to come. >> Your mom doesn't have two nickels to work together. >> Who? My mom get retirement and all my sisters get money. What are you talking about? All you got to do is put 500 for a down payment. How you going to say my mom? >> So your lawyer saying your lawyer can't say anything for you. Just so you know, you have to say it and you're going to tell a jury that >> this a long time before I'm going to see a jury. I have >> You're darn right. And you're going to be in jail until that day. >> Okay. I >> And the thing of you don't you know what's sad about this whole thing right here? >> What >> is >> you only helped after the fact? >> I didn't help. >> I had no fact. And then now you're going to be charged with murder. >> I didn't help that. No fact. That's what I'm so serious. I have a 9-year-old of my own and a 3-year-old. I didn't help that. >> And you're not going to see him again. >> Y'all don't think people going to bring my kids to see. >> Well, if you're okay with that over instead of helping yourself and helping others. >> We know you didn't kill him. I didn't kill him. I didn't help kill him. I DIDN'T HELP HIM. I'm telling y'all, MY MOM only got washer and dryer. I take her clothes there. I bring my clean clothes that's already at my mom's house. When I'm over there, I bring trash bags in and out of there all the time. I help her clean THAT HOUSE ALL THE TIME. We have poor cats there. I didn't help after. I DIDN'T HELP BEFORE. I DON'T LIKE KIDS DYING OR DEAD. >> MEANWHILE, Wilder begins speaking in another interview room. [laughter] [clears throat] So, I can't believe this is happening. Check your [laughter] breath. I'm kill. I did. I didn't kill my baby. I'm telling you, I did. I just My son did. I just try to cover it up. >> We can barely understand y'all. >> Oh my god. >> Mask is your best. >> The night my son actually passed June 26 at 10:00 at night. I was sleeping. My girlfriend was sleeping and I had him in the closet cuz they be leaving their stuff and they post and they be stealing. So I had him in the closet and my son was mad and he beat him in the head with a rock. I didn't get up when I was supposed to and my son was screaming. He was saying, "Mom, he hit me. I ain't get up." I just I didn't think he was hitting with this rock. And I got up. I WENT TO MY SON WAS DEAD. I TRIED TO COVER IT UP CUZ I TRIED TO PROTECT MY SON. I didn't I know I SHOULDN'T HAVE DID THAT. I KNOW I SHOULDN'T HAVE DID IT. I DON'T KNOW. I was scared. I ain't never did in my life. I I SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO COVER THAT UP, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW. [gasps] I didn't know he was going to kill him. I don't know. I can't tell you nothing else. That's exactly what happened. And I'm just trying to protect my son. And we played that wrong. I was trying to cover that. So I reporting cuz I ain't know what else to do. I ain't know what else to do. He should HAVE DID THIS. MY BABY IS GONE. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, Y'ALL. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I DIDN'T KNOW, DADDY. I DIDN'T KNOW. [clears throat] I didn't know. I should have got I didn't know he was hitting in the head with the rock. I didn't know. I thought they was just like regular to fight. I didn't know he was banging him in the head with that rock. I'm telling you. And when I found him, I just went to protect my son. But I did try to get right in there. I did. I did. >> Take some deep breaths. BABY kill you. I know. I know. I got five kids. I lost them before. I can't [laughter] I was scared. I ran. I was scared. I was scared. I was scared. I was so scared. I CAN'T I had to leave. I had TO [laughter] I HAD TO I DON'T KNOW. I don't know. >> I'm going to give you a minute. [screaming] >> I can't believe Will you drink some water for me and I'm going to go get you some Kleenex. Okay. >> Be right back. Oh my baby. So stupid. [laughter] >> Um, okay. And and I know we've been talking, Lonnie, but I got to ask you these questions. Do you speak English? See what I mean? What's a high grade you've completed? >> High school. >> Do you read and write? >> Oh my god. >> Do you reading right? >> Yes. Um, do you have a hearing problem? >> Uh, do you wear glasses or contacts? >> No, I'm supposed to, but I'm not. >> What are you supposed to wear them for? >> I can't see for [ __ ] >> Distances or up close? >> Distance. >> Okay. So, when I if I show you the document, [clears throat] you'll be able to read it. >> Close yet. >> Excellent. Um, have you consumed any alcohol in the last 12 to 24 hours? >> My son, it's gone. >> I know. I KNOW. [laughter] I just >> How how much of you? >> Not that much. I called my I had called my best friend so I could have them pick me up and I tell them cuz they think I killed my son. So I only could trust them and I told them what happened. They brought me here and they let me drink like three shots. >> Three shots? No. What time was that? >> They picked me up at like I don't even know what time it is now. >> Um it's about 7:00. >> That was at like 4 >> 4 p.m. Okay. Three shots at 400 p.m. >> Yeah, that's it. and uh consuming drugs, illegal drugs in the last 12 months. >> No, I know I got marijuana smoke marijuana. >> Smoking a little marijuana. Okay. But you're not intoxicated right now. You you understand me and you know what's going on. Correct. Okay. I just want to make sure you're okay with that. >> I know. I thought about it all night. I just know I just I should just call. I just didn't I don't know how to handle that. I didn't know I was going to open the closet and see my son dead. I [laughter] didn't know. I didn't know that was going to be like that. I didn't know. >> Okay. Um, Lean, I know you're kind of all over the place because you're excited right now. Um, and but, uh, you don't have to read it. I'm going to say it out loud for you, but if you want to follow along, I'm going to read this paragraph to you. Okay? And I know you want to talk [laughter] about this and we want to ask you some questions. Okay? So, before I do that, um, before we ask you any questions, you must understand your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be against [clears throat] you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before he asks you any questions. You have the right to have a lawyer with you during questioning. If you are unable to pay a lawyer, a lawyer will be appointed for you prior to any questioning if you so desire. And if you wish to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you have the right to stop answering at any time. I also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer. Does that make sense to you? Can you read this out loud for me? I haven't read the statement of my rights. I understand my rights. >> Do you agree that you understand your rights? >> You sign here saying that you understand your rights. [gasps] >> Just I don't know. He's real spiteful like that. [snorts] >> And I just >> He's a smart kid though, isn't he? >> I try to cover it up for him though. It's no that's no reason to lie to y'all. It's it's it's it's going to make it even worse. So that's why I broke myself. So where where did you put once he's in a trash bag and once >> I left him in the closet and then I got so scared >> and I just wanted to cover it up so I reported he missing and I put him in the attic. >> You put him in the attic. [snorts] >> How did you get in the attic? >> It's just a little pushup crawl space. >> You're not a short person but you're not that tall either. >> My house if you see my house you I >> It's real short. It's It's like a little house in Prairie. It's not. >> Um, so did you climb on anything or use a ladder? I mean, how did you get up there? >> A chair. Where did you get the chair from? >> Downstairs. >> And then you put it Did you put it back downstairs afterwards? >> I was so scared. >> Where was John at that point? >> I don't know where she was at. >> Did she leave or just not in that part of the house? >> She was she pretty scared. [snorts] >> We didn't know what to do. I I just shouldn't I I shouldn't have tried to cover it up, but I'm thinking like what is y'all going to do with a killed his brother? I'm going to go down for this. They going I'm [ __ ] >> So you said I Leanda the the uh 26th. >> June 26th. >> So Wednesday >> I think it was Wednesday when I don't know what day >> today Saturday. >> I know it was June 26th 10:06. How how long was he up there then? >> So if that happened at 9 or 10:00 at night on Wednesday, >> I didn't I didn't put him up there and someone reported him missing the same day. [snorts] >> So was the same within 12 hours of >> the same day. >> So I think he had your dates wrong, which is okay. >> No, June. >> Do you know what day is? >> And I think I No, 29th. I reported him missing the 28th. He was correct. >> He I moved him the same day I reported missing. It was maybe Thursday the 27th. >> He was in the closet the whole time until I reported him missing that day and then I put him up there in the attic. >> So [snorts] he was in the closet for a day >> you you moved into the attic and then called us. >> Okay. >> All right. So he was not in the attic very long. Maybe only a couple hours. >> No, not even that long. >> So you called us around noon, I believe. >> Yeah, he he was only up in there for like I don't know when they found him. I left. I was so scared. >> You left. >> Scared. >> But before you called. [snorts] >> Not. It couldn't have been. I was Whenever I put him up there when they found him. That's the time. >> Right. Right before you left. And right before they got over there is when you put him up there. [snorts] >> I don't know why I did this. >> The 26th. >> I don't know. [snorts] >> I can't even explain to y'all. So, and I know that you're [snorts] here and you're trying to >> make it right >> my name because I did not murder my child. >> But we we do want to come up with some a time. That's like why we said we didn't know [snorts] when this happened. So, we just realized that it it happened Wednesday night. >> He didn't pass since June 26, 106. >> I would believe you remember that, too. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, but we still want to go. When you left the house, when the detectives were there, um, >> he was already in there. >> Where'd you go? [snorts] >> For real. Go to sleep in this [ __ ] and get booked the [ __ ] out and go to sleep back in Jackson Pipe cuz they going to give me my medicine. [ __ ] y'all are stupid. I ain't got to talk to nobody else but a lawyer. Y'all crazy. Get all the DNA you want. Want me start spitting on the floor. I'mma sleep good every night knowing I didn't do this cuz when I get on, I'mma be paid as [ __ ] >> Detectives challenge Wilders's account. The two women will give conflicting descriptions of the crutch and their own involvement. >> And I unpaused actually I might turn it off and back on some recorder. It is now back on. It is uh still June 29th and it is 7:30 p.m. Um so we went talked to the some of our bosses and um they're going to go back to the house cuz we were still holding it obviously. Um, and they're going to look for that rock for us. Uh, because we did not, uh, as far as I know, we never went inside the house. So, as far as I know, they never saw a rock. >> It's in there. >> I don't I just can't tell you the location. I didn't hide the rock. >> Okay. So, um, you know what happens when somebody's killed? Um, [clears throat] what happens to the body? Do you know what the Franklin County Corner's office is? The morg? I heard I don't I don't >> So there's some procedures done to um determine the cause of death. Okay. Of of people especially when we don't know what happened. We don't have anybody to talk to about how it happened. They still have to get the science of it. It's the smart people not like us. Um and they they do a lot of procedures. Um but they told us that he was not killed by somebody hitting him in the head with a rock. How was he killed? I >> No, >> that's what that's what we were trying to find out. >> That's how was [clears throat] he? That's what I'm trying to say. >> He has injuries. >> He was alive. >> Those injuries could not have killed him. >> He was alive. >> He was well alive. Like he I don't when he was getting hit, that's I'm telling you, he just went I I can take a lie detector test. I want to I want to take a lie detector test so y'all can know that I did not >> that that might be down the road but we're >> in the head >> like if I hit him in the head with with a rock or whatever. Um it depends on how much force and everything else and where it hit him at and stuff like that. >> I don't have no he could have been hitting him everywhere. Like I'm telling you. >> But that's what I'm saying is the doctors have that's what they do. They look at the injuries that they're doctors. We're not doctors. We don't know how the how the body works like they do. And the the test that they do, he was not that's not how he died. >> So they still don't know. >> Well, they know. >> So how did he die? I'm trying to understand this. I need to know how my son died if it wasn't from my son beating him in the head with a rock. >> That's what we're hoping that you can help us with. I >> I can't tell y'all nothing. He I don't know. He I mean he was sick before but he that's cuz he drank hand sanitizer. He drank a whole bottle of hand sanitizer about like this big but I didn't think that would >> they did a toxology so they they they checked him to make sure he didn't have drugs or alcohol in his system. >> But this was a vendigo though and he was I made him have made him throw up the [ __ ] and all that but I don't understand. >> Is there anything that happened before he got put in the closet? >> No, they just be fighting him and my off I don't I can't tell y'all nothing. I can't >> anything that happened in front of Janna. >> What you mean? >> Did Janna do anything? Did Did Jon see you do anything? >> I I can't just make up something. >> I'm not asking you to make up something. >> I don't have nothing to tell y'all. I don't >> because you you did you this is killing you inside. This hurts. And um you guys are both here um trying cuz you know it's eventually we're going to um just because of what she said and and she did try and uh say a few things that we were really confused of and thought she was mistaken but then realized um that it makes a lot more sense what she said. Um but then there's a few other discrepancies. Um >> I got to do that. You >> want to go now? >> That's fine. Yeah, >> if y'all got a female. >> Well, we are probably going to have to take care of that. We do have a female in the building, so we'll probably have to to take care of that cuz we can't go in there with you. Um, [clears throat] so not we're not necessarily worried about you hiding drugs or anything. >> I already te um another detective, a female detective let me pee early. >> So, can you wait a few minutes then or Cuz I I just >> I mean it's cold in here. That's probably why I got to pee. >> Um pick up my phone. >> You want to take care of that first? >> I don't have a phone. >> You want to take care of that first or just kind of finish up here? >> Probably finish up. >> Finish up and then fine. I mean, >> okay. You're okay with that? >> No, I'm just freezing, man. >> Okay. >> We'll finish up here and I'll get the I'll get a female officer. >> Okay. >> Um All right. So, um, when we talked to her, um, she, uh, talked about the date that this happened, but then I fell asleep cuz I was so cold. >> And, um, she's not trying to get anybody else in trouble or anything. She's trying to take responsibility for what happened. Um, but, um, she did tell us that you guys were sleeping together when they were in the closet fighting. >> Yeah, I can tell you the truth since she told you. >> Okay. >> Okay. The rock is at the house. It's a heart-shaped rock. >> Okay. >> When we [snorts] open that clos beat that boy so bad in his face and he was dead. And I swear to God on my dad beat that boy to death with that rock. >> Okay. >> He beat his brother to death with that rock. He did. >> And then what happened afterward? >> I was there and I can't even lie. I can't I was there. She put him in the bag. Like I said, they the laundry bags I touch my I do laundry all the time. She put him in the bag and she put him in the closet. That's all I >> And then you left Thursday or left at >> I never left at all. I never left. >> You were there that one time. When When did this happen? >> Cuz it didn't happen Friday. >> No, it didn't happen. >> It happened on 26th. >> 26th. Wednesday. Wednesday. >> It's night time. >> That's what she said. >> We woke up. I had beat him to death. >> Yeah. >> With that rock in his face on the corner of the rock. I haven't touched the rock. I mean, I touched it when I hammered it the the um curtain up on the thing. That's way before I had got the rock and beat him in the face with the rock. >> Oh, you you were using the rock for something else before. >> We we used the rock to hammer cuz we don't have a hammer to hammer up the sheep. Okay. Okay. beating with the corner of the rock all in his face. >> Um, >> that's why I kept saying I know for killed >> killed his brother killed killed Martonio >> because Antonio said he was gone. >> Yeah, I know. I heard what you said before. You don't have to say it again. >> Um, and you just held the bag for You didn't put him in. >> No. >> You just held the bag and she shut him in. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. How did How did she put him in there? >> She just She picked him up and just laid him in the bag. >> Which way? I mean, do you know what I'm trying to get at? I don't want to say that. I don't want to put words in. >> I mean, she she just picked She was scared. >> So, she picked him up and you know, >> well, kind of just did that. Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. Can you kind of stand up? And you're >> So, you you be you. >> This is it. >> You have the bag there. Okay. And then >> she she picked him up cuz Martonio was small. >> Where was he at when she picked him up? >> She got him out the closet. >> Okay. All right. >> Where he died at? And then she picked him up and she put him in the bag and she said, "I can't let my son go down for this." >> Okay. >> But I was We was sleep. We woke up to him dead in the closet. >> What What he look like in the in the in the closet? How was he? Can you >> How was Can How was When you saw him in the closet, how was he positioned or what? Where >> with that rock? And I don't know the sand ball was in there. Like I said, Marton, it was under his arm and he died with his eyes open. >> Okay. And then you you had said that you'd helped him to the the bag there. And then how did um what did you guys do with Antonio before she called the police? >> Before she called the police. >> Yeah. That he was missing. He was in the closet. He was in the closet. >> So what did you guys do? >> I just She said help her move him upstairs. And I say I moved the bags and I said he too heavy. So she said grabbed the chair and she went and stuck him up there so I wouldn't go to jail. And I said, "I'm accessory to murder because I know." >> And when you say upstairs, you mean not not like the upstairs bedrooms, but what? >> Upstairs in the thing. >> But you didn't go up the steps to get there, right? >> Huh? >> You didn't go up the steps, right? >> I just brought the chair up there. >> Okay. So, you can't get there. So, and I don't I I'm just trying to >> We've never been in the house. >> I'm trying not to put words in your mouth. >> I brought Yeah. >> where he was found. I just brought the chair up there cuz she like can't go for this [clears throat] and we going to because it had been since the 26th. >> Yeah. Well, you you clearly have a warrant that we had to file. >> Um and that's part of it. Um >> we don't know what do you know what the grand jury is? >> No. >> Yeah. So when you get arrested for a felony, you >> I didn't I I I haven't I don't I don't even hit I hit him at my mom's house. That's all I did. We're not saying you >> We're not saying that you did, but all I'm saying is when you go to court >> that day, I didn't see her. >> I didn't see her choking with a cord. >> Well, what did you see her choking with? >> I seen her put crutches her crutch. >> Yeah, now you're getting it. >> But putting her crutch what? Like Antonio was she put like I said she put him in the closet. >> Uhhuh. >> Mar Antonio was still everything. So it wasn't like it touch it didn't never touch his neck cuz you see how skinny his neck is. Her crutches for her is big. >> Uhhuh. >> So she just stuck it. She said that if you don't shut up I'mma beat you. >> Okay. >> That's all she did. So, so where did she put the crotch? >> Um, >> you were holding your neck. >> Yeah, you hold the neck. >> Yeah. No, I'm I'm I'm going I in the trash. >> No, no, no. On him. What did she >> That's what I said. The crutch like on her tummy. >> Okay. >> And she stuck it like his neck is skinny. So like the crutch like it touched the corner of the wall. That's what I said. It never touched his neck. So >> you I'll here I'll be Martonio. Okay. Yeah. >> And then you show me what you saw. >> The crutch is you know how the crutch and then it never touched his neck. How do you know it didn't crunch? >> I could see from the bed from where he stayed in the club. >> Okay. So So he's here. And then what did he What did you see her do again? What's the crush? So So one hand, two hand show. Yeah, just the crunch. >> And then look at methength. Look at me lengthwise like this. But it wasn't straight on my wall. It was He was in the corner. >> So she had the part that goes under her arm was here against up here. >> Yeah. >> And she was holding it. >> No. Yeah. She just And she said, "If you don't be quiet, I'mma beat your ass." Antonio could still breathe. He even said, "Okay." But it is one thing I forgot to say. I do remember saying I was choking him and everything. >> I swear. >> Okay. Um, we're going to stop you there. >> I'm sorry. >> Yep. J, before you >> Yeah. >> get yourself in more trouble cuz you already know you got the but then don't say that cuz you know that's not true and that's not her and that's not what you discussed cuz she already talked to us about what you two were going to discuss and how you were going to try and play this just to minimize. You both know you're in trouble but just to try and minimize. know that I don't >> but it was he she doesn't want to go down for murder. >> Yeah. >> And she you guys discussed this, right? >> But we know that did he >> Well, he didn't choke him. >> No. >> And he he did fight. We understand that. But >> no, >> we already know he did. >> We know that the choking happened and it's and it's unfortunate. She didn't want to hurt him. She didn't want to kill him. is is obviously on Martonia and of course her and I I know you don't want to say it. I know it hurts you to say, >> but I'm I'm telling you, >> but if you look at me and this is what he's been trying to tell you. No, please. >> Just listen. Please listen. You know, I'm not yelling at you. I'm not screaming at you. >> I'm trying to help you. But when you don't say it and you keep sticking with this story that's not true, the courts are going to say you're as guilty as she is and you're going to get a murder charge. We don't want to write that charge. >> I I I'm telling y'all, it was that's the only thing I seen was the >> But that's my point though. You saw enough. But you cannot keep saying that he's the one that caused this cuz you watched her do it >> and then you're going to go to jail for murder. >> He did. He was not dead after she did that crutch him cuz he was still saying >> we tried. >> We tried. We tried. >> I'm not lying. I swear to God. Y'all could give me a test. I could take a lie detector test. Antonio was not dead after she did the crutch. He was not dead. He was in the closet was beating him with the rock. He said he had choked him. He had before they even beat him with the sandball, threw the sand ball on his chest, he was kicking him in his neck, in his head, all type of man I know. Hey, we do appreciate it, >> but I don't know >> prose when we talked to the prosecutors. Um, it's it's it's not going to be good for you. I'm just saying like I that's I I didn't He was still up and moving with >> nothing. We uh we're going to let the officers know and they're going to take you to jail for your warrant and the next 5 to 10 days. You're going to go in front of the Well, you probably won't be in front of the grand jury and they're going to decide what charges and uh >> do I still get to go pee? >> Uh yeah, I'm sorry. We'll get that taken care of. Yeah, but I'm I'm so I'm telling y'all that, >> John. I'm telling you that I I'm I'm barely confident that they're going to charge you with murder, too. That's their decision, not ours. >> No, but we we tried. We tried. >> And And it's okay. Charge with murder. >> Not right now. Not right now. >> But I'm saying for what? I didn't do nothing. >> Well, it's it's it's not >> You still know. You still know. And you didn't completely come clean with us. So So you still won't get charged. He was still alive. Him was in the closet. >> We can't >> got to do is give me a lie detector test. >> That's Yeah, that's not You guys can get a lie detector test if you want, but that's >> We don't We don't use those. Yeah. >> Who don't use them? >> We don't use them all the time. >> They don't ever use them, but they're not. >> It's okay. I mean, >> like I said, I didn't do nothing. >> Um, you okay with getting rid of the bathroom? Yeah, we got right here. >> Wilder now faces questions about the crutch. >> Her account will change during this exchange. >> How do I get a question? Not did how how >> did you use the crutch that night? [sighs and gasps] >> I didn't I'm telling you I did not hit him with this crutch. I did not kill my son. I didn't beat him to death or none of that. How how did you use it? >> I didn't use it on my son. Matter of fact, only time the crutches was used is when she had his toes banged with the crutches, but bang his toes. So like he just took it and just bang bang bang. So it was I didn't All right. I can't wait when when this when I take the live tech test and prove it. I'm going be like, "Well, somebody she need to take one, too." Cuz I didn't hit him. You want to take one, too? >> Yeah. >> Everybody wants to take a lie detector. >> But all you guys have done is give us limited truth. Finally come off of something. Give us more a little bit more truth. Finally come off. Lie, lie, lie. Bring a little bit more truth. And we're at this point and we're done. >> I didn't beat my son to death. Tell me. >> No, I don't think you beat him with a rock to death. No, >> I didn't beat him with the crush to death. If I did not beat your son with a rock to death. >> No. We all know, even yourself, you did not kill your son. >> I thought he did cuz when he he was still alive when I So he was never What y'all trying to tell me? My son was dead before I put him in the closet. That wouldn't make no sense. He would have already been dead. If I beat him to death, he would have already been dead. That's what I'm saying. Tell us. >> No, we didn't say that. >> I didn't beat him to death. >> We didn't say that you beat him to death. >> That's my baby. I wouldn't I wouldn't kill my kids. I don't understand why people would I didn't beat him to death. I I mean I I don't think I mean I wasn't there. I don't think you're like I'm going to effing kill you and you're you're doing it to kill anybody. It's just that you've had a system of um and I'm just going to say it. It's you might try and call it discipline u but you had a system of abuse. You lock two little kids into a tiny closet where they don't even have room to fully lay down and you lock them in the closet all night while you sleep in a bed with your girlfriend. >> She the one who suggested it. She suggested all this [ __ ] man. She Man, >> listen to me. >> [ __ ] >> But so the abuse of hitting him with cords and making him do weird things with the medicine. >> But did she tell me he she hit me too? >> She has. >> Yeah. Yeah, she did. >> She made me You need to Man, no, man. truth, man. I tell y'all the truth. No, she No, she >> What did she do then? How did she do this? >> I don't want to tell [laughter] this is all [ __ ] up. I didn't kill my baby. Please, I'll tell you. Who killed him? >> If you didn't, then who cares? >> I didn't kill me. >> Then who did? Who did? We know [gasps] who killed him. [laughter] >> We know who killed him. >> If I did, we me did. It wasn't intentional. I didn't >> We know that >> kill. Tell us what happened. >> Then what happened? >> We bumped him. We poked [laughter] him with a crutch. She said he said, "Man, she was telling she was tell that's why the ball look like that cuz he she had my drop it on his head and just keep hitting she had she don't like my >> What did she have you do? What did you do?" >> I didn't do nothing. She thought she hit me with the crutch. >> Where? Where? >> On his leg and stuff. >> How did he die? I don't know. I don't know. I swear to God, I don't know. I would have never just killed my child. I don't know. >> But we know, >> but he didn't kill him. You were trying to put on him cuz he's a kid. >> No, I was not trying to put it on him. He died after he got back in that closet. They was both up screaming and arguing. So, how was he dead? HOW DID HE DIE? >> Because you guys abused him over and OVER AND OVER. OVER AGAIN. >> And he had no muscle tone and he had no fat because he was starving to death. >> I did. >> And you killed him. >> I didn't. >> Because you continually beat him. >> I did. >> With the crutch. >> I did. >> Are you hit? >> I didn't HIT HIM LIKE THAT THOUGH. She's my friend. >> How many times did you hit him? >> Not even five times. >> Not even five times. his legs to make >> 35 lbs this 8-year-old weighs and you hit him five times with a crutch and that's after hitting him how many times with the pink cord? >> How many times? >> They're both the same. >> Okay. And they're different kids and they wait and they're way mouse. >> You killed the >> You took the crutch while he's standing there and you put it up against his neck. >> He did that. [snorts] She told him to shut the [ __ ] up cuz she keep waking her up. >> What did she DO THEN? >> SHE I JUST TOLD HER SHE HAD IT UP AGAINST his neck cuz he kept waking her up. She was tired of him waking her up. [laughter] >> Where was he at when she done it? >> In the closet and outside the closet. I'm not about to lie to y'all. Y'all can't. I'm not. Well, you've been lying. You are the whole time. >> I just I was just going to tell you how I did everything, but it wouldn't make no sense cuz she >> You're not strong enough to do that, bro. You're not strong enough to take it for everybody. You put it on your son. >> But he had two. You're a grown woman that weighs OVER 200 LB. HITTING HIM WITH A CROTCH. And he spent all day for conspiring and coming up with his plan to talk about him running away. Correct. >> Yeah. >> And to blame. I wasn't trying. You got to understand. I thought I really thought that for real. I didn't think that I did that. I DID NOT THINK I DID THAT. I SWEAR TO GOD, I DID NOT THINK I DID THAT. WHY WOULD I THINK I DID THAT? I DIDN'T KNOW. HE ALREADY SAID SHE had to ask her. She said she hate kids. She'll tell you I hate kids. Like I didn't tell you. >> I did not. I did not intentionally kill my son. >> Before we walk out the doors, >> please. >> Okay. >> I did. >> Before we walk out these doors, >> is there anything else that you think is important that we need to know? [laughter] >> I [snorts] didn't I didn't want this. This was not This was an accident. It was not intentional. I wasn't never trying to kill my child, man. >> Well, you understand it was an accident. trying to kill my baby. You never coming back. No, I don't want to live with this. [laughter] I can't. Y'all don't understand. >> Um, [laughter] >> dude, what what kind of charge did you think you have when you came in here? >> I don't know. I just didn't know. I just I didn't know. >> Just came to headquarters. >> I just trying to tell you everything. [snorts] I don't know. I No. No. No. No. >> All right. Um I we've been upfront with you and honest with you the whole time. So I'm I'm [laughter] back now just but just so you know yesterday we filed the obstructing justice charges on both of you because you left the scene and you hindered our investigation to find out what really happened. And clearly you talked about both of you have talked about the things you did to hinder our investigation and obstruct justice. Um so that's pretty clear. Um, but when we got when we got the information back from the coroner's office today about how he died, um, and it was literally 2 hours before you came in. Actually, before cuz she came in first. Um, I filed a warrant for murder for you. >> I think No, >> I'm just saying that that's what the Well, that's one of the charges. >> No, please. I did. >> Doesn't mean you're I already filed it before you came in. So that was to get people get officers to get you in there. >> I was coming. I was coming. I did not. This is not what was supposed to happen. IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED to happen like >> I just wanted to be honest with you. Okay. I charged I charged you with a murder. >> Um but that murder of your son, >> Martonio. >> I just want to be honest with you. This copy of your search warrant will be with the officers when they take it. Um and we'll get you out of here shortly. Okay. I need you. >> [gasps] >> Both received life sentences with parole eligibility after 15 years.
