Don't do it. >> On July 1st, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas, officers with the Castle Hills Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a man identified as Richard Daniel Rodriguez. What initially began as a routine stop quickly escalated when officers confirmed he was wanted on an out-of-state probation violation warrant from Iowa with indicators suggesting he may be armed and dangerous. As officers attempted to take him into custody, the situation began to unfold in an unexpected direction. >> Hi Richard. Come on out for me real quick, man, so we can talk about some things. Huh? Stand up. >> After multiple commands and opportunities to comply, the situation escalated into a brief vehicle and foot pursuit. Rodriguez was ultimately taken into custody and transported to Bexar County Jail on his outstanding warrant along with additional charges for evading arrest. A passenger involved in the incident was also arrested for her alleged role in assisting the escape attempt. What started as a routine traffic stop ultimately became a multi-officer arrest situation involving both a fugitive warrant and active resistance before being safely brought under control.
