He was transported to the hospital, treated for his two gunshot wounds, and was later medically cleared. The incident began when the primary trooper attempted a traffic stop to serve a theft-related arrest warrant. Following the arrest, no firearm was recovered after a search of Pearson, [music] his car, and the surrounding area. Subsequently, Pearson and his attorneys filed a lawsuit against the trooper who discharged his weapon, [music] Kentucky State Patrol Trooper Grant Robertson. The lawsuit alleges the trooper acted with negligence and committed battery. According to court records, Pearson was charged with felony first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, felony first-degree fleeing or evading police, felony first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, and resisting arrest. He took a plea deal, pleading guilty to all charges in exchange for a 10-year prison sentence. While he's in prison, Pearson's civil lawsuit is proceeding in US Federal District Court, and his lawsuit has so far survived attempts to have it dismissed. Separately, the trooper's use of force was turned over to the Warren County Commonwealth Attorney's Office,
