You remember us yesterday, dude? >> Yeah. >> Show me your hands. >> I got something. >> He's saying he has a gun. The following video takes place on June 1st, 2025, where officers attempt to arrest a suspect for outstanding warrants and for running away from officers in a previous interaction just 2 days prior. On May 30th, 2025, Fresno PD officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle. The passenger was cooperative. However, the driver, later identified to be 23-year-old Andrew Garcia, was not as cooperative. He provided the officers with a fake name and proceeded to drive away when officers realized the information they were given was not real. Garcia managed to avoid capture for 2 days until police were able to locate him. They also found that Garcia was on active parole and had a parole warrant for his arrest. Officers showed up to his home on June 1st, 2025 and attempted to arrest Mr. Garcia. After officers arrived to his residence and conducted surveillance for a period of time, they knocked on the door. The passenger from the traffic stop days earlier opened the door. Hey, how's it going? How you doing? >> Being good, man. How are you? >> You remember us from yesterday, dude? >> Yeah, I'm good. Nothing. >> Where's Andrew at? >> Is he here? >> Hey, is he here? Yes or no? >> Yeah. >> Where's he at? Hey, primary here. >> Officers called into the home for Garcia, but he did not come to the front door. Body cam worn by a second officer on scene captured Garcia pushing out a window screen on the side of the house. When attempting to make contact with Garcia, the second officer heard Garcia yell back, "I got something and I'm loading it." Officers then stepped back from the home and established a safe perimeter. >> Hey, show me your hands right now. >> He punched out the window. Show me your hands, dude. >> I got it. >> Show me your hands. >> I got something. >> He's saying he has a gun. What do you have? >> Watch out. Watch out. Watch out. Watch out. Let's go back. >> Sam 13 mills inside. He's advising he has something. Uh not making a clear what he has. He said he's loading it. I'm >> Garcia proceeded to exit the home and walk through several backyards in an attempt to escape. He was spotted by a third officer who radioed that she saw the suspect with a gun in hand. >> 21. I have eyes on him. He just pulled something from his waistband. It's a black looks like a black handgun. Right hand. >> Okay. >> Where your business? >> Garcia continued to walk through several backyards while trying to flee, but quickly realized that the perimeter set up by police had him surrounded. Eventually, Garcia returned back to his home and began to escalate things even further to try to escape the perimeter. >> Hey, Andrew, show me your hands. Show me your hands. >> 14, we have him in the south side. >> He's stuck me in the car. >> Andrew, hey, we don't want to hurt you, bro. Just come out and make contact with us. >> Hey, is there anything I can say or do to get you to peacefully surrender, bro? This isn't worth it. It really isn't. >> Why is that? Talk to me. >> Right there. >> Yeah. >> He's leging westbound. >> He's leging eastbound. Garcia got into his vehicle and began to drive through his residence's front yard. A fourth officer ordered Mr. Garcia to show his hands, but he did not comply and continued to drive. The officer discharged his weapon multiple times. Garcia was not struck. He then drove through a fence of the neighboring residence and proceeded to drive through people's backyards. See your hands. Let me see your hands. >> He's in the car. He's in the car. Let me see your car. Let me see your hands. [ __ ] He's going. He's going away. Let me see your hands, bro. >> Let me see your hands. >> Let me see your hands. >> Let me see your hands. >> I got you right there. Cross fired into uh one of the residents. For more than 15 minutes, Garcia drove through multiple yards, causing significant property damage. Towards the end of Garcia's rampage, he gets out of his vehicle and points what appears to be a handgun into the air. [Applause] Garcia eventually parked his car in a neighbor's backyard and ended up surrendering to the SWAT team after a lengthy standoff. A replica firearm was recovered on scene near Garcia's vehicle.
