Shock fire. >> Hello, please. Get up. Get out. Get out. Got blood on the bridge. Touch it. The following video takes place at around 1:40 p.m. on March 29th, 2024. A Sparks, Nevada police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Green Bray Drive, a residential area on a Ford Expedition with no plates. However, before the officer can even speak to the driver, he opens fire with the officer's body cam catching the whole thing. Oh [ __ ] Shorts fired. Shots fired. It's going westbound. Eastbound. [Music] The Ford Expedition begins speeding down Green and crashes into a moving van at the next intersection. With his vehicle now incapacitated, the suspect, later identified as 34year-old Anthony Wade, takes off on foot. I'm shot. It's just 10:50. [Music] Ah [Music] [Music] the gun. >> Where'd he go? [Music] This way. Turn around. >> Behind you. Where'd he go? >> Looks like he jumped the fence to that. BMA jean jacket. I think I need medics for my personnel. [Music] >> Hey good. [Music] The officer that initiated the traffic stop was later determined to have been grazed twice by bullets fired by the suspect with a third striking him in the vest. Emergency dispatch received a 911 call shortly after the traffic stop about a man entering an occupied residence one block south of Green. The caller advised she had been cooking in the kitchen when the suspect entered her home with a firearm. The victim reported she used a knife she was holding to protect her and her children by cutting the suspect who then fled out of the back of the residence. >> He has he was on the backard and came inside. >> Where is he? I think he went to the other house. >> Wait a second. Which way? Which way? You went this way >> in the backyard and then I think he jumped the the fence. I don't know what >> officers can be seen in body cam footage about 2:00 p.m. coming across a woman in her driveway on the 1300 block of Prospect Avenue and telling her she needs to go back inside. Unknown to the officers at the time and only revealed through later investigation. The suspect was in the back of her car inches away from being caught. The officers later learned that this female driver had been taken hostage by the suspect and was forced to attempt to drive out of the search area while he hid in the rear of the vehicle. >> Police. Police department. >> Hey, just cover me just in case the guy might be in there. >> Police department. Show me your hands. [Music] >> Show me your hands. >> Sparks. Police. >> Put your hands up. >> Stop. It doesn't look like anyone's in there. All right. So, we have a critical incident that's going on. It's kind of dangerous right now. Did anyone jump inside your yard or backyard? >> No. >> Where you headed to? >> Okay. Um, what I need you to do, can you go inside your house and shelter in place? >> Let's get this family out of here. And we need them for detectives so they get more information. A Wo County deputy returned to the hostage's house not long after to make sure the suspect wasn't hiding inside. The officers are then ambushed for a second time by the suspect. >> Yeah. Well, sweet. Get her off. Get out. >> Get her out. >> Hey, there's a there's an older W in this house. She's the one I talked to. They come back inside. >> Yeah. Hello. Get up. >> Get up. >> Hey, stand up. Are you hurt? >> Get up. Get up. >> Get her up. >> Get her. >> She open. >> I got her. I got her. >> Over here. >> Here. I got one hand. You get the other hand. Let's go. Let's go. Let's get him behind the couch. Stay tight here, man. >> Get the [ __ ] out of there. [Music] >> Back inside. >> Yeah. >> Oh, please. >> Get her out. Get her out. Get her out. [Music] Where is he? >> I don't know. He's in. Back away. >> He's shooting deep. >> He's shooting at us deep. >> During the shootout, one officer was struck in his police vest, which stopped a bullet, and one officer's hearing protection was blown off his head. Drone footage shows Wade exiting the back of the house and climbing over a fence into the yard of another home on Greenay. Wade breaks into this home as well and the homeowner calls 911 and asked the emergency dispatcher for police outside to break down the front door. >> 911. What's the address of the emergency? >> And what's the phone number that you're calling me from? Okay. And tell me exactly what happened. Somebody just broken and barricaded in my bedroom. The police are I got the door off. Police got break down the front door. >> Okay. He's barricaded in the bathroom. >> No, I'm in the bathroom. He's >> Does he know you're in there? >> I don't know. Maybe. >> What's your name? >> I'm scared to death. Drone footage shows Wade re-entering the woman's backyard and looking around while she flees out the front to a line of armed police. For approximately 5 hours, the crisis negotiators and SWAT teams used tactics to encourage the suspect to surrender peacefully. However, the suspect did not respond. At about 7:30 p.m., Spark SWAT officers entered the garage where Wade was hiding, and he ambushes the officers for the third and final time. >> Stay right there. >> Got one on the touch. It out it back up. I got you out. Left corner. Back it out. Watch out. Watch out. >> When slowed down and paused frame by frame, the rounds fired at officers can be visibly tracked and seen striking the officer's service weapon. Anthony. >> After 2 and 1/2 hours of trying to reach Wade without response and believing the suspect may have been injured during the incident, the Spark SWAT team escorted a TEMS medic into the garage. The suspect was located and ultimately pronounced deceased on scene. With weighed was a loaded black 40 caliber semi-automatic gun with a 22 round extended magazine equipped. The officers who sustained injuries during the 8 and 1 half-hour long incident were transported to a local hospital, treated for their injuries, and released.
