The following video takes place in Jacksonville, Florida on October 7th, 2025, where a simple traffic violation erupts into chaos. Officer Holton noticed a woman, later identified to be 39-year-old Erica McGriff, leaving her vehicle running and unattended. Doing so is a traffic violation in the state of Florida. So, he attempted to lawfully make contact with McGriff, but things quickly escalated. McGriff attempted to walk away and ignore Officer Holton's commands. However, the verbal conversation soon became a physical confrontation with Mcgriff throwing punches and even biting the officer. As Officer Holton tried to detain Miss McGriff, a crowd started to gather and a few spectators began to become too involved in the arrest. [Music] What is the problem? What is the problem? [Applause] Get out my [Music] [Applause] [Applause] head. >> McGriff was arrested the same day for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and operating a motor vehicle while having a driver's license that is revoked as a habitual traffic offender. Each of those charges is a felony. She also received multiple traffic infractions. However, she wasn't the only person to be arrested after this incident. Two of the spectators, later identified to be 36-year-old Jasmine Jefferson and 59-year-old Anita Gibson, were also arrested after violating Florida Statute Section 843.31, also known as the Halo Law. The two women are the first people arrested under the new law that states there needs to be a 25- ft buffer around first responders, prohibiting people from approaching the area or harassing the first responder. Despite officer Holton's verbal warnings to get back, the women did not comply, and officers later identified Jefferson and Gibson from the bodywn camera footage of the incident, and they were later arrested. Additionally, a teenager has also been arrested after she made threats to shoot up the charter school because of this incident that took place right outside the premises.
