The vehicle was rendered inoperable and the subjects fled on foot. As officers pursued the subjects on foot, one pointed a 40 caliber pistol towards the officers. A tourniquet was applied to Mr. Lucas's leg and he was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later charged with robbery firstderee, armed criminal action, resisting arrest with a felony, and unlawful use of a weapon. The gun attributed to Mr. Lucas was located on scene. It was found to have what appears to be a Glock switch attached to the weapon, which is a small device that can be attached to the rear of the slide of a Glock handgun, converting the semi-automatic pistol into a machine pistol capable of fully automatic fire. Two other suspects were taken into custody. A 15-year-old juvenile suspect was held by St. Louis County Family Court on charges to include robbery, carjacking, tampering, and resisting arrest. Due to the suspect being a minor, his photo and name is kept private. A 23-year-old suspect was also taken into custody, but charges never materialized. This suspect was likely not charged with anything due to them not being present during the carjacking, and they were only a passenger in the vehicle after the robbery took place, possibly unbeknownst to them. All subjects shown are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
