Are you pregnant? >> Yeah. I'm 8 months. >> We have video footage of you in the Dollar General. >> Listen. >> I'll tell you >> Stop resisting. >> You're going to jail for aggravated battery. You pushed a pregnant person at the Dollar General. >> On the 2nd of January 2025, [music] deputies in Flagler County responded to a Dollar General in Palm Coast after reports of a disturbance involving a customer and a pregnant employee. What began as a shoplifting investigation soon led to serious criminal allegations. >> Hello. You have a second? Somebody can cover you while we >> Yeah. >> All right, cool. All right, so what happened? >> Um well, I got called up front because I guess she was walking out with with a lighter with other items. And so I just came up and So, she's been here before. She's always up to no good doing stuff. But usually we don't call the cops because they don't get to her in time and it doesn't make a difference. But so she comes she comes back in by the time I come up front and she's trying to pay for the lighter. I'm like, "Whatever, I'm just going to let her pay for it so she can go." She doesn't have any money for it. She's like digging around and then she's like, "Can I just get a cheaper one?" I'm like, "Fine." And really I'm just trying to get her out. >> Yeah. >> So she grabs another one and she's trying to give me like change and I'm telling her like this is not enough to cover the lighter. And she's like, "Well, didn't I give you change? Didn't I give you this? Give [music] you that?" And she's just like skitsing out or whatever. And I was like, "You didn't give me enough." And um so I'm walking over there towards the lighters with her. She's trying to walk out with it past me and I was like, "You're not leaving with the lighter." And then she just puts her hands on me and then goes out. And then >> like pushes you out of the way. Okay. Do you have video of that by chance? Or anybody who can access it? >> Um I can see. >> Okay. Are you the manager? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> What started as a single complaint now requires officers to gather information from additional witnesses and nearby residents. Each new conversation helps fill gaps in the timeline as deputies work to determine exactly what happened and who may have been involved. >> Do you know her name, by the way? >> I don't. But she comes in and she's always trying to return stuff and she but I'm like sure she's just stealing it and trying to return it. She tries to get beer and cigarettes all the time. >> I got to go back a little further. >> She has like a blonde wig. I haven't seen her in a while. Like she hasn't been in here in a while. >> She's a white lady? >> Yeah, she's white. >> She older or like what what >> Um she's can't be more than 40, I don't think. >> [snorts] >> So this is her. She had already went outside. >> Mhm. >> Did you just want to like see what she looks like? >> If possible, I could see her like pushing you. >> Okay. >> But yeah, both. See what she looks like and also that. And what I'll do is if is there any way that this can be emailed to me like snipped and emailed? >> I don't really know how. >> If not, I can record it on I'll get my uh camera and record it. >> And I was I was asking him like cuz she had taken it out of the packaging over here cuz it didn't have a barcode on it. >> Yeah. >> I don't know what she was trying to do here. >> And whoever called um said that are you pregnant? >> Yeah. >> Okay. How many How How far along are you? >> 8 months. >> Oh my goodness. >> Yeah. >> Do you want to pursue charges? >> Honestly, I wouldn't have even called the other lady who was being a little more aggressive than me, but I mean to be fair, she shouldn't be doing stuff like that. So I mean >> Yeah, but it's totally up to you. >> Yeah, we can. >> Okay. >> Just cuz I feel like she needs to some she's crazy. >> Yeah. Is this her? >> This is her here, yeah. So she's just grabbing and touching. I'm telling her and she's like I want this one instead and I'm like okay, that's fine. Like I don't care. Like, just give me the change." And then, at that point, she's like, "Didn't I give you some money already?" And I'm like, "You didn't." >> Yeah. >> She's grabbing the other one there. >> Okay. But, she didn't actually make it outside with any merchandise, right? >> No, she did. >> Oh, she did. >> Yes. >> Has it gone gone now? Like, she took it? >> She took it. >> Okay. And what was that was >> just a lighter. It's not a big deal. But, at the same time, like, you just keep letting people get away with it, they're just going to keep coming in and doing it. >> how much was that lighter? >> Like, two bucks, maybe. Maybe $2. >> So, shoplifting. >> Right. >> So, but the main thing is that we're, you know, concerned about is obviously how she grabbed you and pushed you out of the way. Due to you being pregnant, it becomes a felony. So, we're >> So, this is her camera. You're not going to be able to see it. >> Uh it's not going to show. >> No. >> Of course, it'll have one at the door. Like, what do you mean? >> And it faces that way. Like, >> Yeah, well, I wouldn't I don't understand that. >> But, anyways, so what happened is I mean, I have the other lady's number, too. She wanted to give it to me for a witness. Yeah. >> Um she didn't have enough for the lighter, and I said and I had the lighter in my hand, and I said, "You're not taking it unless you give me the rest of the amount." And then, she runs over there, grabs another one, and is like, "Well, I'm just taking it." And that's what happened. And then, I'm like, "You're not taking it." She pushes me out of the way, runs out. >> Yeah. >> And you'll see the other lady in line, like, she ran after her and was like, "You just put your hands on her. Like, how dare you?" But, I have her number, too. >> if that would actually would help. Um can I get one that's like more She was back there. >> Yeah. >> Maybe facing. There you go. That's probably better. Right there. Yeah. You think she's like a local homeless person? >> I'm not sure if she's homeless. Um she She hasn't been here in a while. I'm going to assume she is cuz she's on a bike, and she's seems twacked out half the time. Um she wears a wig. It's a blonde wig. >> It's definitely a wig. >> anybody else? >> No, it's always just her. >> What color bike? >> I don't really pay attention to the bike. Yeah. >> Is it like a mountain bike? >> Kind of, yeah. >> Style? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you want [snorts] to trespass her? >> Yes. >> Okay, we can do that as well. As soon as we find her, okay? >> that. >> All right. Well, if you have any other issues and >> If she comes in before we trespass her, um she has to be served the trespass. >> Right. >> Of course. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> All righty. >> All right, thank you. >> Yes, ma'am. >> What began as a general complaint starts narrowing toward a specific individual after witnesses share additional information. Deputies move quickly to separate facts from assumptions as they build a clearer picture of the situation. >> Sheriff's office. She comes. Hello. How you doing? Do you mind if I talk to you for a minute? Well, I need to talk to you for a second. Ma'am, I need to talk to you for a second, okay? I want to talk about Were you at the Dollar General earlier today? >> No. >> No? >> No. >> Can you tell me what happened there? >> No. I don't know what you're talking >> You don't know what I'm talking about? Okay. >> You went and got some food? >> Where'd you get Where'd you get food at? >> Uh at Publix. >> At Publix? >> Yes. >> You didn't go to the Dollar General though? >> No. >> Um so listen, we have video footage of you in the Dollar General. Okay? So, I'm just trying to get your side of story on things. Obviously, you were there, so what what happened? >> That's not what I said. >> Okay. >> What you put in my mouth? I want you to prove it. I said she ate I'm tired. I ate I already forgot. I ate I'm sorry. I just threw up at Publix. >> All right. >> Um and uh and I just walked out of Publix. And then And I Publix on the street. >> Okay. Were you riding your bike? >> Uh no, no, no. I just walked. >> Oh, you walked? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. No. >> What? >> No, you guys, this is like the fifth time you guys come over to my house. >> Listen, I'm What I'm saying is we've had some car breaks in the area throughout the night.
