I'm just going to show her. >> Do you not realize you can't charge me for either? I don't know what anything if I stole it. >> It was in your bag that >> it wasn't in my bag >> that you were looking for your ID in >> cuz I looked through everything cuz I have that was in my bag. I mean that's up to you. You're under arrest for possession of paraphernalia >> and possession of ammo by convicted felon. >> Well, that was under illegal search, sir. >> No. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. I'm sorry. >> I promise you cannot touch that vehicle if you're not if I didn't steal it. I need to talk to that guy. Illegal search. Excuse me. I need to speak to you, sir. They won't listen to me. I need to speak to you. They won't listen to me, sir. And now they know they're in trouble. So, they're lying. Let me talk to them. They're lying. Sir, may I speak with you? They're trying to backpedal because they know they illegally search my car. Why are you locking the door tighter? You think I'm going to get out? You're weird, sir. I need to speak to you, please. All my rights have been violated. I need to talk to somebody immediately before you have some big story behind this. That's all right. I want there to be There needs to be light shed on y'all's illegal ass [ __ ] You're going down. It don't matter. All right. You got a new charge of grand theft auto of motor. >> How? No. Uber putting it. >> That's funny. Then you can't charge me with the other stuff. Which one is it? >> [ __ ] you lying ass [ __ ] I need to talk to you, sir. I need to talk to you. Y'all are funny. I need to speak to you, sir. Please. They won't even listen to me. I didn't steal nothing. This is crazy. So, what's the charge? Possession or grand theft? Cuz I instill nothing. So, I hope that's the one y'all go with. Y'all can't get y'all's act together. Y'all can't figure out what you want to do cuz y'all won't listen to what I'm telling you at all. But that's all right. I'm going to shut up and let y'all do quit trying to figure it out. Y'all are [ __ ] Keep going. Keep digging. Keep digging. Why don't you ask me questions instead of trying to figure it out what y'all gonna lie and say? Uh, on record, I know I'm being recorded. The three of them are sitting there trying to in cahoots trying to figure out how to backpedal out of the illegal ass [ __ ] they've done. Can I please talk to somebody with a brain? So, did the officers really have the right to search her car? Under the Fourth Amendment, police can't just search a vehicle because they feel like it. They need either consent, probable cause, or a lawful arrest. Probable cause could be something like a drug pipe in plain sight or even the odor of narcotics. Consent means the driver gave them permission, even if it was pressured. And if the car was being impounded, they could do what's called an inventory search. But here's the catch. Simply being asleep at the pump isn't a crime. Unless one of those legal boxes was checked, this search could be seen as unlawful. So, what do you think? Did the officers have the right, or did they cross the line?
