That vehicle was used in an armed robbery. So, I don't know. >> to know, armed robbery? >> Yep. >> On 16th August, 2025, Ohio officers responded to an armed robbery at a T-Mobile store. What investigators were about to discover would lead to a hidden suspect, a getaway car, and a mother who had brought her young son along for the ride. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Put your ass on the ground. He left you so anybody came in? All right. I said, what's this code? Stay your ass down. >> 148, 248, is anybody else in the store? >> Hey, we're going to search that way. >> I got more screws here. >> We don't know. So, let the dog do it if you don't know. >> That's you. >> You don't know if there's another person in here or not. POLICE DEPARTMENT! IS ANYBODY INSIDE THE STORE? YOU NEED TO MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN. >> 148, RADIO. >> YEAH, visible damage on that. >> They were both here and out. >> Check that hard corner for me. You hold, I'll work my way around. >> That radio >> Seems clear. Can you move up to that open door? >> All right, peace. Yeah, you got the open door here, all right. >> All right. Move that way. I'll You cover front, I'll cover left. >> Dover Police Department! >> It's clear here. Jesus. Looks to the right. I don't know what's on the shelf. >> Ask them if the cameras work. He is saying that they do work. He just doesn't have access to them. >> All right. You go in first. Bathroom. It's clear. All right, the business checks secure. Nobody else is inside. >> The search pays off when officers discover a man concealed inside the building. With tensions already high and uncertainty about who else might be involved, they move in fast, taking the suspect into custody while continuing to clear the surrounding area. >> HANDS UP! PUT YOUR HANDS UP RIGHT NOW! TURN AROUND! ANYBODY ELSE IN THERE? >> NO. >> YOU GOT COVER? ONE MORE IN THERE? Who else is with you? Don't move. >> There's somebody else in these cameras. >> Radio one detained. All right, yeah. And I'll play that cool. Where's the gun at? Stop. Don't [ __ ] move. Do not move. >> You got cash? >> I'm asking you one more time. If you have a gun on you, you better tell me where it's at. >> no gun. I didn't even do nothing. I don't know what y'all got going on. >> Yeah, well, hiding inside of a store like that, that don't make no sense, right? >> I mean, it's a barbecue place. >> Yeah, no. Slide your feet in. >> It's my car. >> What type of phone are they pinging right now? Samsung or iPhone? >> According to my tracker. >> Hey, Sarge, there's a bunch of product back here. >> I think that's an employee's. He was opening the door instead of that's your car. >> There's a bunch >> first stuff? >> No, it's Samsung. It's a bunch of phone stuff. >> Oh, wow. >> Oh. >> Samsung. Oh, yeah. >> And there's money right there. There's from a till. This might be it. >> Is it like real hot on this. >> With stolen property and cash already recovered, officers turn their attention to a vehicle parked nearby. What seems like a routine question soon develops into a deeper inquiry as detectives work to piece together who had access to the car and when. >> You own a blue car out there? >> Yeah. Yeah, I own a blue car. >> Yeah, come out and talk to us. We I'm going to be honest with you, it it was used in a robbery, it was stolen. Armed robbery. That vehicle was used in an armed robbery, it was stolen. >> I was in an armed robbery? >> Yep. I'm just going to be I'm just going to >> You have me on camera though? >> I don't know. I said the vehicle was used in an armed robbery. And so you're driving the vehicle here, we got to talk to you about it. Did you let anyone borrow your vehicle? >> Did I let somebody borrow my vehicle? Yeah, I did. >> Okay, who who Who's Tyree do you know? >> Um this this boy that I've been talking to. >> Okay. >> Well, I live in Euclid. That's where I came from. >> Okay. >> I went to my mom's house on the west side and waited for my car. He brought me my car and then I came here. >> Where does mom live at? She You live in Euclid, you came down to mom's house. >> So from the west side to get my son. >> Yeah, so what what city is that? Like what city is that? >> I don't know if that's Cleveland or Brook Park or whatever. >> Okay. >> I don't I don't know what police department come over to us. >> Okay, so Brook Park, so you came from Brook Park and then to here? >> Yeah, I drove here. >> And that's and that's your vehicle? >> You said my car was used in a robbery? >> So I'll be honest with you, I said we're trying to be honest with you. Is that the story you want to go with? >> I'm going to clearly write it up. >> We have these awesome cameras all over each intersection and it tracked your vehicle. So we know where you've been. >> Right. >> Right. So like you want to tell us like again which way you were coming from? >> I was coming from the west side. >> Okay. So why why was your car coming from back where like a robbery occurred? What time did you have your car? >> I got my car What time did she text me? Because I said I was coming up Broadway. >> So what time did she get >> Cuz she asked me was I still coming and I said I'm on my way, sorry, I'm coming up >> At 12:16 he picked you up? >> Yes. No, that's when I was driving on my way here. >> You were driving here? >> Yeah, at 12:16. Over there. >> What time wasn't the time you had your car before that? So you had your car the entire time from last night till now? >> Yes. >> So 12:16, were you in the T-Mobile T-Mobile store and >> No, I haven't been in there. No. >> So we look at the cam- cuz we're going to we're looking at the cameras. We're not going to see you We're not going to see you in there? >> No. >> Listen, be honest. You The best part right now is just to be honest about everything because you can either not be in trouble or you're going to be in a lot of trouble. I can't make a promise right now, but >> drive my car. >> Huh? >> And I said I let Terry drive my car. >> You let Terry drive your car? >> Yes. >> And you were at T-Mobile in Solon? >> I'm clear from the robbery. >> Uh maybe Is that Solon a world out? >> Listen, yeah. Yeah. >> That's my purse? So he got it out of my car? >> 1:30, stand by. >> Yes, this is 100% my purse. >> Yeah, it is. And you said it was in there. Okay, this is in my purse. >> I'm sorry. I'm just new to the conversation. You don't know that guy at all? >> No, that's not right. >> You know? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> That's not right. >> So you guys were at Solon then today mistakenly? >> No, I went to Solon, yeah. >> Today? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But a robbery though? My car was used in a robbery? >> 1:30 to 1:40 or anybody else >> I'm from Bedford. All I know is >> So the robbery was the two? >> Yeah, he has your purse. >> He's in Bedford? He used my car for a robbery? >> Is that your kid? >> Yes. >> Is someone there watching? >> No. He's with me. >> You're going to have to call someone to pick him up. You're going to have to come back with us. I'm just being respectful right now. I'd I'd give your mom a call. Yeah, we're going to want to talk to you a little bit further. I'm just I'm I'm just I'm just going to be respectful to you cuz you're respectful to us. I'm not going to handcuff you right now in front of him. I'm going to let you make a phone call, but I'm going to be completely honest with you. I don't I I don't have any answers for you. I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to trick you. You could be there for half hour or you could be there for 2 hours and go to our jail. >> You're being detained for the question of what happened and so >> Okay, there's a family driving after depends on you to be honest. So I'm I'm not going to sit here and lie to you or try to sway you one way or another. I got I got kids as well. I I can understand what what the process he has to go through. That's why I'm trying to be completely open and honest. And then we just can't let you have your phone in the back. Yeah, I'm good. You be respectful. I'm trying to I'm sorry I stepped in your sandals. Uh I just want to cut your phone off. There's no need to to call I just want your cuffs off. >> Officers begin gathering witness statements. The employee walks investigators through the sequence of events step-by-step offering key details that could help verify timelines and strengthen the case. >> I get here early every day and I just open up the store. Um I went to the back. We had a customer call in saying that they were coming in to get a iPhone. So I'm putting all our packages away, checking our safe to see if we have the iPhone and things like that. So I start start the time delay and when I start every time I start the time delay I tell my watch to start a 10-minute timer. Then a customer came in so I started working with the customer. She was talking about um her internet's not working, her friend's internet's not working. But she wants to get a new phone. So I'm trying to just work her through that. My my timer goes off so I go back to the safe cuz if we don't open it in 5 minutes then we got to wait another 10 minutes to open it. So I just go push the buttons and once I step in they tell me to get on the ground. >> Where was she at? >> Right behind the door. >> Which door? >> Inside? >> No, so most likely what has happened is when we leave my coworker went to Giant Eagle. We put a board in the back door. we just go over there. >> Oh. >> So, that's why I could didn't ever see nobody that lady coming by herself. I didn't see nobody else. >> Okay. >> So, how our store is set up, if you go through the back door, there's a lot of just back ways and things like that. And then, if you come out through the door that goes to the sales floor, the first thing you're going to see to your right is the office. So, like I'm straight ahead talking to a customer, he could have just >> Stepped out. >> Was there anybody else inside the store? >> I don't know if my my coworker came back or anything like that, but he is >> And he doesn't know if >> Somebody else had came back to the store. He doesn't know if the coworker was in the back. >> Call him just to see. You can see before the lady came in or I was just working with the things like that. He told me he was going over to Giant Eagle. So, I was just like >> So, your male coworker or female? >> Male. Door was open. I seen the lady come in with her son. >> Mhm. >> And I would have seen somebody else come in. >> Well, we'll pull the cameras. >> I really can't wait for that to happen. >> Yeah. >> I really want to know how is that safe open. >> Do you guys have a camera on the safe? >> We have >> three cameras in here. >> Okay. >> Oh, perfect. >> Yeah. >> So, you don't even know what was stolen? >> No, I >> Besides the the tracker phone? >> No, he I mean, I know everything in that safe was stolen. Cuz he emptied out our trash can. Took the trash bag out the trash can. >> To put everything in it. >> in it. >> Okay. >> And he had another thing, too. I think one of our boxes that we We have a whole bunch of boxes that are inventory boxes. So, at like 11:00 22:00 is when I take them. I'm in the bathroom. And told me not to come out for 20 minutes until he left out this door, cuz I seen him. As I was I can show you. But, um like maybe at like 11:00 something. Uh 11:00 was just on the phone. He said he was just going to Giant Eagle. We all like just when we go to the gas station or anything, like we're going to get a sandwich, we put this board here, and just go out, and then we come back. If we're going for a long time, then we close the door. We just call somebody open the back door. Cuz our front Our front door is conversion based. So, if we're just coming in and out and stuff like that, it's saying that we have eight customers who just came in to buy water or something like that. We just messed up the whole thing and stuff like that. >> So, out in the back door, you are doing these, right? >> Right. Yes. >> And you said the right side is the one with the timer. >> Yes. >> Okay, don't touch anything. >> Okay. >> I just need to clean something. So, the right side's You're good. Right side's the side with the timer. You prop the timer >> Mhm. >> and hit you put it on your watch. >> Mhm. Yes. >> Is it an Apple Watch or a Samsung Watch? >> Apple Watch. Yes, ma'am. And I just said, "Apple Watch, start a 10-minute timer." And as that's going on, I was still like over here. Yep, I was still over here. I even I sent my manager a picture a picture of this Google Pixel uh case right here cuz we don't even have a Google Pixel 10. So, I'm a lady called me said she wanted iPhone 16. So, that's why I was really in here looking. >> Okay. So, you hit the thing. >> Mhm. >> You come back out here. >> Mhm. So, I come back out here because when our front door opens, it's like boom. Like you can It's like a sound like we can all hear it. So, when I hear the lady come in, I like rush out the back, "Hey, how you doing?" Start talking to her about her problems and things like that. >> And you sit there. Don't Don't touch anything. >> Yep. And then I sit here and I'm sitting here talking, blah blah blah. >> Where was she when you're talking to her? Where she at? >> She's sitting in that chair. Her son is in this chair. >> Oh, she had a person with her. >> Uh like a little baby. >> A tiny baby, like >> Not tiny. Just like a baby. >> A tiny baby. >> And then so, we're doing that. Ding ding ding ding ding goes off. So, I'm like, "Okay." I'm going to save. So, then that's when I come in here and when I just left out, both of these doors were closed. >> When you go over here, is she still here? >> Yes, she is. >> So, when all of this is going on, she's just here the entire time? >> Well, that's what I'm thinking because when he asked me to come out and take this out, she's long gone. >> She was gone. >> Mhm. >> Do you think she heard what was happening? >> Oh, cuz he wasn't loud. He said, "Get on the floor. Get on the floor." And I'm just like like kind of lost. And then I get on the floor and other than that he's just like, "Don't move. I'mma do the He's like he he's calm. He was like yelling, he wasn't screaming, he didn't put his hands on me or nothing like that. >> When you came in here, where at exactly was he? >> Right here. >> Behind the door. >> Cuz I walked in, I was confused cuz why is this open when I'm just putting in the code to be able to open it. So when we put in the code the time starts when the time is done I put the code in again so it can open. So it shouldn't have been open. >> He dumped the trash out and put the the stuff inside the trash can? Okay. >> And he had something else to put it in and he had me carry it to the back door for me. >> What was it? >> It was like a box or something like that. But I know I think it I think it was one of these. >> Okay. And then so he has you do all this here and then he walks you out. >> So he put everything in it he brought everything to like the end of this table here and then like when he was actually leaving out he had me carry everything to the back door where he left out. I was on the ground. And then he had me on the ground right here. >> While he was doing that? >> As he was getting everything in here then as he was getting everything out of here after I told him the code he just like spilled over me. I barely remember the shorts or >> Okay. Was he in shorts? >> Yes. Like I my Chuck, my uh district manager sent us a picture I just like from the >> Yeah. >> from the um the cameras. >> Okay. Does it match the photo? Did you see the photo yet? >> I don't know. I haven't seen the photo of who they got. >> This is just the one I tried to show you outside. It was pretty dark though. >> Yeah. And I got I got another photo too. >> Okay. So he puts the stuff here he has you get on the ground. >> So even when um when we come up he puts the stuff on the ground. He was asking me about the register in there. And then when he got back out here he's like, "Yeah, where's that register?" I was trying to tell him like we keep the keys behind this big poster here. So I'm trying to tell him to get the keys, you can open it and he's like get up, come do it. Here's the keys right here. I just opened the Yeah, I just opened the the the drawer, took the till out and just put it on the table and he grabbed all of it. The cash cuz all of the the change is still in there. >> And then while he was doing that, you were where were you at? >> In the back chair. >> You were sitting in it? >> Yep. >> Okay. And then so he grabs all of that, then where does he go? >> So then he um tells me to get back up and that's when I see that he has a second gun. He's like as I'm like right here like in this drawer, it should be about our panic button. So it was kind of I was kind of trying to get to it or is it in the other drawer? But he like was sitting back there just like watching me and it's like these chairs are really low so you can really just see like my chest or what I'm doing and then he kind of comes around and he pulls the little silver gun that I seen that he had in there in his pocket and then he's like pulls out like he's like in his pocket like this, he pulls out a black one after he had put like the money in his pocket. And then he opens this drawer and he's like oh y'all got a lot of stuff in here. I'm like ain't nothing really here. He was just telling me to walk. He's like don't do nothing. I don't want to shoot you or anything. >> And then you walked where did you walk to? >> Okay. So then we're walking through stuff like that. He's like don't do this, don't do that, blah blah blah. I'm like I ain't about to fight you over nothing. I don't care bro. Just whatever. Then he say he's going to put me in here and he's like nah, I don't put you in here. You're going to call the cops. And I was like these are bathrooms right here, one and two. I can go in here. I was like I can even go in here because like this one in this room is like cut it's like a wall like a little hole where they see all the way back this way. So I'm just like I can go in here like just like >> To sleep. >> Right. >> Yeah. >> And so but then he eventually like just puts me in here. So then like once I get in there, that's when I'm like trying to text my manager and stuff like that. Then I see him by the door. He was like give me like 20 minutes before you call the cops. I know you're going to call the cops or whatever. >> The the door was open? >> I'm like he puts me in there but then he's talking so I kind of open the door and I'm huh? So just like kind of look and he was by that door and he was like you do 20 minutes or I'm about to leave blah blah blah and then he's like oh you got a phone in there you're about to and then I hear him walking over there so I'm trying to take my watch out but then I was like nah I don't have a phone he got that and he just walked to the and he just walked back to the door I waited a little bit text my manager that try to call him and tell him then I peeked my head out he was gone and then I'm on the phone with my manager at that point he's telling me to just give him my stuff and leave and that's when I went to go over there and give him the clothes again. >> Okay.
