Who are you to him? >> Uh, just a neighbor. I live in the neighborhood. I wanted to ride home my skateboard in the trunk. >> Okay. >> Let me see the baby. >> I was trying to do something. >> Okay. Let me see the baby. Let me see the baby. Come here, honey. I know. >> You got weed. You got open container. >> No, I don't. >> You riding with the baby in the car with a open container of beer and it smell like weed. Come on, dude. Where's the mom at? >> He's at work. >> You got the open beer right there. >> Why would y'all be driving with a open container of beer and smelling like weed with the baby? >> I didn't listen. That's disgusting, man. There some things you can be leaning on and some things you you got to do your job and you got to do it well. Cuz when you put somebody's life in danger who can't defend themselves and can't protect themselves, that's when all bets are off. I know it. >> Left leg wrapped up. >> Get the paperwork right. Let me look at the paper. Get the paperwork right. Back up. Don't walk up on me. Back up. >> Don't walk up on me. >> I can walk up. I can look at what the hell I see. >> Have you had anything to drink tonight? No, he good, man. I asked him to drive for me tonight, so I take full responsibility. >> So, you're saying the beer is yours? That's what you're saying? Hey, he's saying the beer is his now. So, the driver is good. >> Straight up. I'm a real gangster with hands up. Like I say, >> the mother had custody of the child and the mother was at work. So, she left the child thinking that he would be a great father and act responsibly like a father would. In this incident, he did not. And the mother actually worked not too far from the traffic stop and did come and secure her vehicle and the child and they were taken home uh safely. This incident was captured entirely on one of the officers body cams. Officers tried to identify everyone when they respond to this type of scene. Sometimes the return turns up more than just an address or a phone number. How about that? >> Did I have more? >> Yeah. >> I didn't have my brother did. >> Okay. And maybe maybe that's the issue. So, we'll make sure that it's your brother. >> Even if this is a mistaken identity, running from the cops isn't the way to straighten it out. It is a [ __ ] [ __ ] [Applause] [Music] The suspect has now run directly into traffic, putting both himself and the officer in danger. Heading northbound towards the guy long course. Black t-shirt pants. >> Now off road, this officer does his best to stay in contact with the ground units. They might be able to cut the suspect off at another point in the chase. >> Notify the northwest. Get somebody to come south. [Applause] Where'd he go? Get >> down on the ground. Baker 123. >> Down on the ground. >> The chase is now back on the freeway. This situation is quickly getting out of hand. >> Just tried to take over a car. He's still going across the freeway. >> The officer needs to end this chase before someone gets hurt or even killed. [Music] My way. >> Stay off the air. He's on a blue Hyundai. >> He's hanging on the side of the car. >> One of the most important skills an officer can have is the ability to improvise. [Music] Hey. >> The officer is now hanging off the side of the truck. Racing down the freeway. The truck is in hot pursuit of the suspect. >> Jumping on another car. Oh boy. Semi black Nissan. Nissan's going to pull over. Hang on. on the freeway >> underneath the fly over. Stop right there. Stop. Stop. Black charger. Stop. Get down on the ground. This is over. Eight units by the Home Depot and the Walmart. The suspect might not be ready to give up, but one misstep and the pursuit is finally over. >> Stay down the ground. >> 20 now. >> The suspect was charged with resisting, evading, and obstructing an officer. He plead not guilty and the charges were later dismissed by the prosecutor. His companion at the scene was released with no charges. Now, let's head to Beachwood, Ohio, where an officer has spotted a stolen pickup truck pulling into a parking lot. >> This entire incident was captured on several dash cams. the intersection. >> Got him. >> When the driver sees the officer, he abandons the stolen truck and takes off running. As other units arrive, the suspect manages to double back and jump into the officer's vehicle. >> One police car. [Music] What you're seeing here is the suspect's point of view as he speeds through backyards and front lawns in a residential area. Hey uncle 31, Pasadena, California. Monday, October 24th, 2022. 4:50 p.m. A woman wearing a long flowing skirt appears from behind the hedges carrying a pickaxe. It's an unusual scene that's about to become terrifying. As the woman approaches the home from the driveway, she heaves the pickaxe into a window, shattering glass on the outer window pane. She gives the window another whack, knocking out the inner pane of glass. Once the woman in the home begins screaming, the axe wielding woman leaves just as quickly as she arrived. A moment later, the woman in the home steps out of the doorway, shouting for help as she dials 911. >> Help! >> Before help can arrive, the asalent returns. The victim caring for her newborn grandchild in the home retreats inside. Help! This time, the asalent smashes a window above a baby bassinet inside the home out of view of the camera. >> The glass shards from these giant windows were literally double her size. If she was 5 seconds late, my daughter would no longer be with us. >> Fortunately, inside the home, the grandmother gets the baby away from the window before it's broken. While the perpetrator continues her rampage, a passing car slows down to observe but continues on. One by one, she shatters every street facing window in the home, slipping on shards of glass as she swings the heavy pickaxe. >> Questions? >> The bizarre tirade continues as seen through this second security camera. Hence, anyone? >> The woman puts the pickaxe over her shoulder as she leaves the front yard, issuing a terrifying warning as she leaves a driveway. >> I'll be back. Get out. I'll be back. >> She pauses to shake pieces of glass out of her sandals before heading back up the driveway to take another swing. Apparently, she has an axe to grind with the owners of this home. The woman smashes three more windows out of view of the front camera. The force of her swings is so violent, it shakes glass from the windows in the front of the home. Finally, the woman exits the property, hacks under arm, leaving a trail of broken glass behind her. Pasadena PD later tracked down the axe wielding woman a few blocks away. She is identified as 65-year-old Beverly Baker. Baker is arrested and held until June of 2023 when she is released to a mental health facility. Police reported the incident may have been the result of a mental health crisis.
