On February 6th, 2026, officers conducted a walk-through of a local bar where a routine check quickly escalated into a chaotic scene. >> I would say I tell I tell my wife to grow up all the time. She doesn't think it's very funny. Thank you. >> What's up? >> I'm going to kill you. >> Do you have an ID? >> No, I didn't. >> You have your ID on you at all? >> I don't have one. >> Okay. You don't have an ID on you at all? >> No. >> How'd you get into the bar? >> I just I was here before there was a bouncer. >> I don't believe that. >> I said >> I've been doing this a long time. I don't believe that. How you doing, bud? You have an ID with you? Show me your ID. I don't How old are you? What's your birthday? >> February 19th, 2004. >> February 19th, 2004? >> Yes. >> Okay. What's your name? What? Luke, where are you from, Luke? And you don't have an ID on you? >> No, I don't. >> Okay, so what we're going to do is we're going to go outside and I'm going to get an actual date of birth and nation from you, okay? So Let me have your drink. We're going to walk outside, okay? I'm going to need to identify you because you are in possession of that drink. >> I got in with that. >> Huh? >> That's what I got in with. >> How old are you? >> I'm 20. >> Okay. What I need you to do is I need you to turn around and put your hands behind your back. You'll get your purse back. I'll just put your phone in there so it doesn't fall and break, okay? >> Can I just walk out like this? But >> You'll be fine. Want to go upstairs? Want to go to the front door, okay? Don't dance with them. Partner, you need to leave. You're going to go to jail. Stand up over here for me. Jim, grab him. He's disorderly. He keeps trying to come in. Stand right there. Do not move. All right, partner. What's your name? >> Luke Ashby. >> How do you spell your last name, Luke? >> A S H B Y >> What's your middle name? >> Jerome. >> And you're from Upper Arlington? >> Correct. I'm I'm 18. >> You're 18. Do you have an actual ID with you? >> No, I don't. >> What's your birthday, Luke? >> February 19th, 2007. >> Who's your old man? You lied to me inside. >> Yes. >> Cuz you didn't try and run out here. The only reason I'm going to give you the break to go home right now. Okay? >> Yes. >> So, wherever you're going, get to going, okay? >> While the responding officer was occupied with a disorderly male attempting to enter the bar, the female thought she could make a run for it. >> Yeah. >> She's running away. She's running. >> Who's running? >> Got a female suspect. She's running down Fern Alley. Stop! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. THAT WAS STUPID. YEAH. >> I've got her down here by the arcade. Now you're good to go to jail. All right, go ahead and have a seat in this car. Turn around. Have a seat. Was no, she was under arrest. I was dealing with one, Jim was wrestling with a drunk guy. So I called for the other ones. I'll just worth the escape, probably at least obstructing, but I kicked my other guy loose cuz at least he didn't run on me. He stayed right there in the corner and waited, so. So Jim arrested her in the basement. I had one I brought out to ID, there's a drunk guy that I already told to leave the bar earlier cuz the bar bouncer was going to bounce him. >> Yeah. >> He was still trying to come in, so we just hooked him up for disorderly, he starts fighting with Jim. But Jim didn't have him under control, so I held my guy, ID'd him, but he's 18, but I'm like, you know what, just you stay here, get out of here. And Courtney's like, she's running. Well, I heard the cuffs hit the ground, she slipped her cuffs and took off. So, I don't know if it's worth an escape charge, but at least an obstructing, you know. >> Yeah. >> So. >> All right. >> All right, well if you want to run her back to the office and we'll meet you there and try this again. All right, go ahead and step out for them. >> Straighten and turn left. Go ahead and stand in front of that glass wall. >> All right, I'm going to take these cuffs off. When I do, I want you to place your hand up on the glass, okay? Do you have a purse or a phone on you or anything? >> I don't have my purse or my phone. >> All right, go ahead and have a seat in there. >> Delaney, >> Yeah. >> do you have any uh any medical condition I need to be aware of? >> No. >> Do you have any psychiatric or mental condition? >> No. >> Do you have any dental condition I need to be aware of? >> No. >> All right. All right, Delaney, let's talk about what's happening tonight. >> Okay. >> First thing's first, you were placed under arrest for underage alcohol consumption inside the bar. You're getting a charge for that. You have court on that on Thursday the 12th at 9:00 a.m. All right? The second thing that happened when you slip out of your handcuffs and run, I can charge you with a couple different things. The first thing I can charge you with is called escape. Escape is a felony of the third degree. Escape is a jail trip tonight. You would sit in jail until Monday, and then you're looking at uh at least 12 months in prison over that, okay? Over something that you could have probably gotten a diversion program over. At this point, the other charge you're getting instead of the escape is called obstructing official business, okay? That's still a misdemeanor, but it is not going to be diversion eligible. You are going to have to deal with this. >> Okay. All right? You have a court Thursday the 12th. Here's the deal. I'm sending you home with your friends that are out there. If I see you in the bars before July 24th of this year, I promise you you will be placed under arrest and you will go to jail. Do we have an understanding on that? All right. Those are your copies of the charge. Down here at the bottom is the court date, the time, and the location where it's at. If you are not there, they're going to issue a warrant for you. Do you understand that? All right, come on with me. Thank you. Come on this way. Need to take her home. The only reason she's not going to jail today on a felony charge is because I have chosen not to charge her with that felony charge, okay? She's got a different charge she's going to deal with, all right? She has court on Thursday. All right? On your way, please. >> Ultimately, Delaney was taken into custody. While she avoided an escape charge, she was officially charged with underage consumption and obstructing official business. However, on April 7th, 2026, both of these charges were completely dismissed. At the time of this upload, Delaney has an upcoming expungement hearing scheduled for June 23rd, 2026.
