On March 1st, 2024 in Monroe County, Wisconsin, officers arranged to meet with a police officer as part of an investigation into inappropriate Snapchat messages involving a teenager volunteering at a local fire department. >> I understand we need to sit down and talk and we need to do that in the safest way possible. um doing this long enough that you want to be understand. We've gotten some information um that I need to talk to you about. >> Okay. >> It's come to a point that [clears throat] obviously um it's important enough that um we put chain costs. Yep. As a police officer, um you on your way to work, right? Let's go pretty soon. Um worry about being armed. >> Yeah. No, I you get it 100%. You don't have to Yeah, I get it. >> Um >> you took an oath as a police officer to um honesty as the the highest part >> um of our job >> and I want to give you that opportunity to talk about it since we put you in cuffs I'm going to read you your rights >> um it's certainly up to you if you you um want to talk about it >> and you know definitely >> so you're very sus against you in the court of law you're very consulty before questioning you have a lawyer present if you get any questions you cannot afford to hire a lawyer to represent the public expense reporting questioning if you so wish. If you decide to answer questions now present, you have a right to stop questioning and remain silent at any time you wish and the right to ask for it and have order at any time you wish including during the questioning. So, uh I didn't talk to you about some of the stuff that's um happened with some of the females here at the fire department. Okay. >> Um, make sure you are aware of what I'm talking about. Uh, some of the conversations that you guys had. Um, frankly, it went a little too far. Um, I want to know your side of how we get to a point. >> Should I be here? >> What's that? >> Just try to be here. >> Okay. What do you guys mean? >> Fire department. >> No. Oh, >> how did you communicate with her? >> Leave text message, Snapchat. I think that was it. I think most most of it was Snapchat. Yeah. >> And it was >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I didn't know I couldn't remember if we I know we I couldn't remember if we did like actual text too, but I know a lot of it was Snapchat. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, >> I understand that one because we go like I go camp with their families all the time and like we stay super [ __ ] and if I I felt awful that I was to make her feel uncomfortable cuz that was never never my intention was to make her feel uncomfortable with any of us that we were Snapchatting. I mean, I knew that like I must have said something that was inappropriate, which I was like, "Okay, I I get that." But I I felt I felt that that yeah, I I never in a million years wanted that that to feel like >> that. I mean, >> so you knew that something was up, something was going on. I mean, have you talked to them at all since they blocked you? >> No. >> No. last week I was like I didn't mean to say anything bad and then I haven't messed with anyone since. >> Is there something that you looking back at it that you sent her that that maybe you're like yeah maybe that was misinterpreted. >> It definitely was when she was at the gym. we were snapping and I said something like got to make sure the squats you got to work on that like and I think I used like the body emoji and I totally think that's what it cuz she's like she respond like you're [ __ ] weird. I'm like I didn't mean I didn't mean it like that like totally I think that's what it was. Like I don't remember ever seeing anything else that was like that like at all. >> Okay. um other times that you commented on what she's wearing that maybe she misunderstood. >> Honestly, not really. I can't I can't think what I don't know. I just gain cuz she like it will beund freaking 10° outside. We'll be camping and the chicks were in freaking jeans and I'm like what the hell's wrong with you? And then so I yeah I don't remember saying anything like anything bad about it. I don't remember actually saying anything like that. >> Okay. You remember sending emojis along with it? That would have been like winking. >> Maybe >> drooling. >> I don't think about drooling. >> Uh maybe not with that one. With another one while you guys were talking. I when you're saying it's a pro, I must but I I don't I don't know. >> So, um walk me through some of this. I mean, uh it sounds like you you Snapchat um a lot. Um probably, you know, just get into a habit of of running through, you know, uh message of your own um you know, sending group snaps, whatever. Um I mean is that with W but that's why it could have happened like cuz she said you sent her one drooling. She's like that was kind of creepy like um after she was wearing I think the leggings um something else. >> Maybe a low cut. Uh she one day she was wearing like a low cut crop top type shirt. I I mean I'm we not that like >> No. >> Okay. >> Nothing that would was like then directed towards like No >> Not that you were meaning to >> No, no. God, no. Not no. >> It sounds like different maybe text conversations. I mean, she was offended by some of the the messages that you sent her. >> Um, tell me about about um that. I mean, she's older. Um, she's 18 now. Is is there something that you said to her that you feel like she misinterpreted? I guess >> I want to be sure about I I don't want to I'm not going to be doing this. I'm not going to make this a [ __ ] difficult for anyone here. Let's just get this. >> Yeah. >> Am I going to jail today? >> Don't know. I I need to clear this up with you. So, you said some pretty explicit message. >> That concerns me. I don't know that she was being completely honest with me though either um about her involvement in them. Um I mean it she seemed like she put it all on you um that she didn't respond much. Um >> let's get let's just get into it. It's fine. I mean, >> I like I said, if I I know what happened shouldn't have happened and and it was so [ __ ] dumb and and I will admit that I never and I know I mean I probably I'm kind of on your side of things and I'm like I would be at this point like I should probably lawyer but I mean I don't I look in the air that that's it's not all one-sided, but that that's >> okay. >> I mean, that's completely I mean I Yeah. >> Um you said, you know, it's not all one-sided. Do you want to tell me about that? I mean, >> so basically I think it all started off like you'd be better than some of the firefighters like that we have on like this is like you should really consider you're going into the fire. I know she wanted to be a cop, everything like that. Great. Um, we I she was like about she was close enough where she could be well she could be a fire, but then she was getting close enough where technically I don't know what the age like 17 and a half or something. It's something where you can you can be a firefighter. >> Okay. like I don't know exact but you could you were like right into where you could start being apply to be a firefighter and I was like you were super impressed with her like yeah you you need to come and be a firefighter cuz you work hard and so we definitely uh so we kind of like just talked about that like I was you know I had good mentors when I came into this place I wanted to be a favor um and just tried to help her um and anyone that came in the door to help them as best much as I can with and be there and if they questions. So that's how I kind of started was just talking about fire police um talking crazy um and you mentioned earlier so you know >> going to ask this you mentioned oh uh you know so maybe I should stop and talk to her that's not exactly what you said but >> yeah but you you're still good talking I I want to ask you more questions that, but I just wanted to make sure that that you weren't asking that. Um, so, um, when did that change from just talking about fire? So, I know I know it would have been the summer. I I know I I know it was the summer. I know that Yeah, it was just I I can't I don't know why I I I don't think it was right away. >> I I know it wasn't right away. Like really knew the chick, but uh I don't know. Like me and her cl like I'm not going to lie. Like me and her like she won a big cop at the time. Um and we just talked about [ __ ] and um yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I mean, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> And you said, I mean, she was involved in that, too, like it was two-way street. She was just >> Yeah. >> Um, was she interested in pursuing something with you? >> Uh, that was I think I honest the part that I remember the most that sticks out to me was the be was how things transitioned was something about she had said that she had a book name. I was going to the night before and we were talking about that and she had come over and she had given me head. Okay. >> That's my like recollection of when this went downhill. >> So yeah, >> when she told you about that. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Um was that before or after um the thing that you >> the black party? >> Black party. Thank you. >> So, Blackboard Party's October. Yeah, I haven't before. >> Before that, >> I don't I don't we even really talk at Black Party time. I don't even I don't even know if I mean I know we talked, but I I don't think we were It was We were talking like that at Black Party time cuz I feel like we didn't really talk when like she was back in school. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I feel like it was it was only like a couple months of that. >> Um, so after she kind of told you about this dream, um, tell me how I guess that progressed. >> It was there was talk there was conversations that were sexual. I mean, honestly, um, never any pictures exchanged. >> Yeah. Yeah. And I think you walked out there cuz her >> um I mean it was pretty clear that >> you maybe wanted to that um realized that um >> you wanted to send her pictures but it knew it wasn't right. It didn't >> um >> you wanted pictures from her but >> it Yeah. No, it it never >> and and you asked her for pictures. Thankfully she never sent you any >> Yeah. Um, and that's what she said to him. Um, that that asked her to send her some pictures. Yeah. Thank you. Um, she talked about some of that foracious stuff, too. Uh, one of the things at the block party, um, you talked about there was some footing going on, um, during that as well and you guys wanted to sneak away and, um, there's some sexual things that that you wanted to do do to her. um sneak away and do it. >> I I just feel like we weren't even really I I maybe I don't I can't I can't I I like you said I I just feel like we weren't talking cuz that was October. It was October. She said shortly after that, kind of November is when um you guys quit talking on Snapchat. I don't feel like it was that late, but it it I guess it could be feel it was Yeah, she talked about you guys wanted to sneak into meeting room to make out and um I mean she was pretty specific about it and it I it I I honestly just don't think it we talked about but we must have we must Right. I mean, [clears throat] it makes sense. Um, with what you've told me, what she told me that. >> No. Yeah. But I just I >> You don't think it's something she's making up? It just >> You don't have any specific? >> I don't have No, I don't. >> Do you Did you guys ever meet up anywhere? >> Yeah, we hung out a couple times. >> Oh, good ones. >> I was doing a thing up in Black before and she did along with me. >> Okay. So >> when is that? >> Summer. >> Okay. >> Before school. I know that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Did that get flirtatious? You guys kind of being able to get together or not? >> Yeah, we we I mean, yeah, we were flirting and stuff. Nothing any more than that. How's that work? >> Um and outside of work, did you guys tell me tell me what's the worst that happened? the worst. Yeah. Like between your necks. I mean with all this. >> We Oh, are you I come over. I stopped out at her house one night and yeah, we kissed once. That was the worst that ever happened. Nothing any I swear to God. Nothing else ever happened. It was one time and it wasn't even like It wasn't even It was like a kiss. It was literally like was that before or after >> like day same day wise? >> No, just bike. >> Oh, time frame wise. >> Time frame wise >> after all late late summer. Yeah, you're >> thinking. Yeah. Cuz I mean the that that thing we did probably would have been probably June July late June. July is I think when that would have that's kind of when she started here at the fire department. >> Yeah. Yeah. It was cuz like she we did that thing and you can easily figure out what day that was but we did that and that was That was summertime. So we had done that and then >> you're talking about the academy >> academy thing. Yeah. Yeah. And >> so that happened in June July. So like it it literally was just like a two month two 3 month like whatever. >> Okay. Um that two three month whatever thing the flirting and all that you're saying. >> That's what I'm saying. It was literally like it was whatever July. I swear it wasn't July. July. No, maybe late June. Late June to Yeah, she's saying November, but I don't think it was that long. But yeah. Um, did did she talk about not wanting it to go further because of her boyfriend? Did she I mean, did she have a boyfriend? >> She had a boyfriend at the time. Yeah. >> Okay. >> But she the time that you guys kissed, she was still dating. >> Yeah. But she uh it was there was never didn't feel like she didn't make it seem like there. I mean like there wasn't like this wasn't forced. >> Sure. >> Like if that's where we're going like and if that's I mean sorry but if that's like where this is going that that was no and Yeah. Not. And that's I mean that that we have completely rely on her end of that if that's what so the kiss is the most that ever happened. >> Yeah. Oh god. Yeah. Obviously you talked about doing more in the flirtatious manner talking about sexual things. Um wanting to have sex but I assume >> never never did >> because of our age. >> Yeah. And if Yeah. We >> Yeah, >> I get the impression you're on the same way. You said we kind of trailed off there. >> No. Well, I mean, like I hope to God that I I wouldn't have had we would never had sex. I know we would have, but I mean, yeah, the conversations sometimes were were was definitely explicit and then Yeah. I mean I Yeah. I mean, but no, >> and even talking about wanting to, but again, thankfully, it didn't happen. >> Yeah. Yeah. No, I I No, literally the worst that ever happened was that one guess. >> Do you feel like you didn't take it further or she didn't? I think it was kind of a both to be honest with you. Um cuz I was start I was August I would have been start I d started dating my current girlfriend. >> Okay. Um, and I think that at that point once, yeah, it was like August. And so I think that's No, it wasn't her like it was a mutual like we we just stopped talking like I like we'd snap here and there, but it was never like >> Are you still friends with her on Snapchat? >> No. No. Did you remove her? Did she remove you? >> I'm pretty She removed me. I know that. I I do know that. Yep. Did you guys talk about that? Like >> um I think I I I reached out just to make sure that you know we were like we were good like there wasn't like my feelings like um and she just wanted to focus on boyfriend and that was fine cuz I was we were I was focused on my girlfriend at the point. So yeah. And your girlfriend's together. >> She's aware of >> me the kiss. >> Yeah. >> I mean, did that happen after you guys started dating? The kiss? >> No. No. I'm Well, I guess I'm trying to understand why it would come up, why your girlfriend would know about that if you guys weren't dating. >> I knew something was up. So, I told her about that. And then my biggest point with her was I just don't want you to be blindsided. Like, if you or if you guys come down with me, then I'll like be done with me now. Like, I I get it. I [ __ ] up. And um but it was not I don't think it was after we were dating. >> I don't >> Did she ask who your girlfriend if it was after you were dating that that this happened? >> I don't think so. We didn't really get into it. >> You just said >> I just kissed this girl at the fire department. >> Yeah. >> And when did you tell her? >> Last week. >> Last week after they blocked you or anything else you told her that you were worried was going to come up. >> Well, no. Is there anything more that's going to come off? >> No. Obviously, we're with the Snapchat. Have you gotten Snapchat recorded before? You had to do something for me. >> Yeah. >> Um, so, you know, I know I tell people all the time >> it's surprising cuz Snapchat keeps more than they think they do. >> Um, so, um, when we go through those records, we're not going to find anything else that that we need to come back and, uh, talk about with you. Um, no, there's not going to be anything. Um, other people who have sent you pictures that are underage? >> No. God, no. >> God, no. No. >> Um, anybody else that >> you flirted with? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Inappropriate messaging. >> No. >> I I mean, I'll be straight up. We don't have have the records yet. Um, you know, that that takes some time. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> we'll be getting them. >> Oh, yeah. Um, so again, you said you wanted to clear air. I don't have to come back and talk to you again. Um, to to go over that. Um, so again, just want to make sure that that we're not going to get blindsided by something. Um, have to come back and talk to you. I mean, again, honesty is on the line. This is your opportunity to hear. So, >> no. I >> No. >> Okay. I mean, you know everybody that you talk to on Snapchat? >> I don't really talk to a [ __ ] ton of people. I don't like I mean, I have like my core my core like people, but I don't I'm trying to talk about Snapchat, but No. >> Oh, I I I if you take your phone and download it, anything? >> No. Go ahead. >> Nothing's going to be on there. >> No. >> All right. And I don't have any specific information on there. There is no So, I want to trust you. Um, I just want to make sure that that we're not um missing something. I want to hear it all out right now. >> So, we can move on from this. >> Yeah. No, >> you have your phone with you. >> It's my truck. >> They they get here. No, it's just it's in your truck. >> It's my truck. >> Okay. >> I don't know if they don't. >> Okay. No. >> So, is your truck or not? I just want to just I well I appreciate the honesty. Um uh and I mean we'll we'll take you up on it to make sure that um you're you're being straight up and honest. >> Yeah. And I I I got nothing I I Yeah, I got nothing. So I mean I >> Yeah. So, I'll be uh after uh just so you [ __ ] uh when they when they uh locked me, I mean I was anxious of like you know what what what do I do? Like what what what's going on? So, I just made I said you know you need to just take a break from social media. So, I just deactivated my >> You said that to yourself? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah, I deactivated my Facebook and my Instagram. So, just so you know. >> Okay. >> Um, you put either of those back on or >> they're still on there, but they're they're deactivated. >> Okay. All right. >> So, I would have to log on to actually like >> Gotcha. You uh you talked about earlier more so keeping your your girlfriend from being lied by anything. Um, anything else um that you feel like you need to get off your chest? No. I don't know. Did it Did it feel like a weight was lifted off when you let her know? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That was my like that was my Yeah, it did. >> Yeah. I hear that all the time from people. I know that myself. I just I do I I just did not want her to have people reach out to her and for her to learn to the situation where we're at. I mean this at some point is going to get I don't know if you remember the that guy over in it's hard to hear that chiropractor or whatever who got charged with some sexual assault stuff and all of a sudden people start coming out. Um, >> no. >> When this gets out, >> no, >> nobody else has come for here's what's going to happen. Um, >> what you did, whether you necessarily realize it or not from what J told us um by asking for pictures, you solicited um child pornography. >> Um, like like I said earlier, thankfully she did send it. Um, you're going to go over the jail. Um, get booked in. >> Okay. >> Um, I'm going to try to get you up for 1:00 bon. I already have a PC statement. >> Um, not trying to give you anything extra necessarily. Um, but it also is the crime of century. Um, so we know the pump that >> Yeah. >> What's char What What is What do you What's the actual >> Um, so child enticement. Um we we didn't get into too much. So um she one of the things uh that was pretty clear is that um that she sure'll be able to back up um is that you had said hey let's go in the meeting room think I'll figure um some of that flirtatious stuff >> which reaches a lot and do some special stuff. Okay. >> Um and then representations depicting nudity um is the hatground statue. >> Okay. >> Um and that [clears throat] is trying to tell us a picture from somebody under the age of 18. >> What other questions you got? Sergeant Corkin's going to transport you. Yep. >> Yeah, you're good with that. Are you alive? Peter was originally charged with child enticement, sexual assault of a child by a person who works or volunteers with children, and possession of In December of 2024, Peter pleaded no contest to all three counts. The child enticement and possession charges had been amended to two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, and the court found him guilty on both, ordering him to pay a $100 fine plus court costs on each count. The remaining attempted sexual assault charge was placed into a 12-month diversion agreement, which required Peter to undergo a psychosexual evaluation and follow its recommendations. Peter successfully completed the agreement in December of 2025. And the charge was then dismissed at the prosecutor's request.
