On April 2nd, 2025, in Brown County, Wisconsin, officers executed a search warrant at a residence after investigators linked multiple cyber tips involving illegal online material to the home's IP address. >> Good morning. >> Morning. >> Are you Alexandra? >> Yeah. >> Okay, I'm Officer Johnson with the De Pere Police Department. >> Yeah. >> Um walking up is Detective Sergeant Matt Groot. >> Hi. >> We need to talk with you about something real quick, okay? >> Sounds good. >> Okay. Hi Alexandra. >> Hi. >> Sorry for the sudden notice here. >> Okay. >> Um we have a search warrant for your home. >> Okay. >> I want to talk to you a little bit about it. Is that okay before we >> Yeah. >> Can I explain everything to you and work with the basis? You want to come back and jump in my passenger seat and I can explain everything to you? >> Sure. >> Okay. I know it's a little sudden, but uh give me a few minutes and we'll get everything caught up. Only because it's raining and everything out here, so we'll just >> fine. >> I assume you're on your way home from work? >> Yes, I am. I am actually. >> I just got some stuff on this seat. I'll throw out of the way here. Here is a copy of the search warrant. >> Okay. >> So the search warrant is for child pornography. >> Okay. >> Um I want to explain a little bit about the basis for it. So whenever a provider like uh Facebook or Google and in this circumstance it's Kick >> Yeah. >> and um Instagram, whenever they detect these images and these files in their systems >> Yeah. >> there's a system in place to notify law enforcement. That's what happened in this case. Um I'm going to give you some information about the accounts. >> Okay. >> And then you can kind of help decipher what Let's go back to my notes here. So, there was a couple of emails that were used. One was Let at all? >> No. >> Okay. So, all those emails uh do you do you know what an IP address is? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> bit. >> So, an IP address is kind of like a fingerprint. So, whenever you use your Wi-Fi or even through cellular, it all comes back to a specific number. >> Yeah. >> And those emails were all based back to your address. >> Okay. >> This was going back as far as August or as recently as last month. Um have you Do you use Kik? >> No. >> Okay. Do you use Instagram? >> Yes. >> And what's your account for In this circumstance, the account was sound familiar to you? >> I think something like my husband might speak to. >> Okay. Tell me about your husband. >> Like what about? >> Well, just I don't know much about him. So, I know you two are married. >> Yeah. I was hoping we could get through this together. >> Okay. Um Does he spend a lot of time on the computer or on his phone? >> He always has. Yes. >> Okay. What does he have at home as far as computer or phone or things like that? >> Like a computer and a phone. That's what he >> A PC? >> Yeah. >> Where is that in the house? >> It's in the upstairs in their um >> Okay. >> office area. >> Is his phone a Samsung? >> Yes. >> Okay. What is he doing right now? Or what would he be doing? Okay. >> As far as I >> Okay. So, the search warrant authorizes us to search the home and seize all electronic devices. Um we want to do this as safely for not only us, but also for Jeremy, too. Okay. >> He's He's acting so odd ever since we moved. >> When did you move? >> We moved in like 2021, I want to say. 2022, 2022 I think. So, we've only had the house for 3 years. So. >> Okay. >> But ever since then it's just been on a decline. So. >> Okay. Um obviously there's going to be some process we need to go through. First of all, as I let we'd like to go we have to go to the house. I want to get in one of those safely for everybody as possible. Um do you have a garage door opener or keypad for the garage door? Okay. Is from the garage into the house, is that locked or is that unlocked? >> Um from the garage into the house, that's unlocked. >> Okay. >> Everything else is locked. >> Okay. Is it all right if we go into the house through that way? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um what about any safety concerns in the house? Does Jeremy have any firearms or weapons? >> I don't know of one. He has a knife, but I don't know where that is. Somewhere in the desk. It's been lost for a while. It's like in the top drawer I think, the left side maybe. But that's the last time I've seen it. There's knives in the kitchen. >> Again, we just want to know so that we can do it as safely as possible for everybody. Um I'm going to have someone come here, grab the garage door opener, and then it's okay if we go in that way? Okay. Um otherwise we have to do, you know, like kicking the door and all that stuff. We don't want to have to do that. We want to try to be as nice as possible as possible. >> So, are we just doing a search warrant? Are we arresting him? I just want to know what to expect. >> Um it it obviously depends on what we find in the devices first. I mean, it's pretty evident that it's going to be him. >> Okay. >> But we're not going to just throw handcuffs on somebody without doing a search, you know, our process. Um we're going to guide you along on this way. I have another team that's over by the house. Um once we get everything situated, I'll probably have another officer talk with you a little bit more. Kind of help you through this process. You're going to need support. He's going to need support, too. And I I'm not trying to um um tell you which he watches, but whether he's going to jail or not, but we just want to make sure we're doing everything the right way. You know, we're not going to jump to conclusions, but obviously he he has a problem. And I I can and I can speak about the files themselves. >> Yeah. >> Um this isn't like teenage girls just taking selfies in the window. These are egregious files of children being sexually assaulted. Small children. >> you it was bad. >> Why is that? >> I just I don't know. It's just been getting worse over the years. This this whole really makes sense. Like he's so hyperactive to the point of like he's saying weird things, delusional a little bit. >> Okay. >> Did you want me to grab the opener? >> Is it on your dresser? >> Up in the visor? Okay. >> I'm just going to talk to these officers. Okay. I'm just going to talk to these officers for for 1 minute. I just kind of want to let them know a little bit about Jeremy and >> I'm just very worried. >> Hey John. You got 1 second. >> Yep. >> So just kind of update you. So he he should be sleeping in the first floor bedroom. >> Okay. >> Why the kind of by the front windows? >> So if you go through the kitchen we walk probably enter what? The the the I mean we go through the garage, we go into the kitchen. >> Yes, I just have a phone that he recently gave me, so I know where his location is. >> Oh, okay. >> Okay. I want to do you want to show the picture again or something? No, no, no. Here. She'll show you. He Where does he wear where is? >> She says that been going through some emotional stuff lately, so everything is super nice. Go ahead. >> I think that's like I think he's up in our guest bathroom actually from where I was. >> I can't see. It's a privacy screen? Oh, I see. Okay, so that's where he's at? >> Yeah, I'm thinking so. It's in our upper guest bathroom. >> Okay, upper. >> As the detective continued speaking with Jeremy's wife, she provided officers with the garage door opener. With access to the residence secured, the rest of the team moved in to execute the search warrant. >> Dog's friendly. >> All right. >> Dog's friendly. >> Dog's friendly, just likes to run around. >> We're not going to read you his rights over there. >> We're just going to go. We'll go in and start an offense. >> Who is this? Jeremy. >> JEREMY! JEREMY, THIS IS POLICE. COME ON OUT. COME ON OUT. >> THE FEAR OF >> JEREMY, HANDS, HANDS, HANDS! JEREMY! HANDS! COMING OUT. JEREMY! TURN OFF. STOP HIM. STEP BACK TO MY VOICE. All right. >> I want to sleep, man. You guys what's going on? >> Kneel down right here. Kneel down right here. >> I got clothes. >> Kneel. >> I got clothes. >> You got clothes. Anybody else in the house? >> No, just me. My wife's not home yet. >> What's going on? >> In a second. >> Is there anybody else in the >> No, what's going on? >> Jeremy, I'll explain everything in a minute. Do you have a Do you have a coat or a uh set of shoes? >> Yeah, my shoes are by the door. >> Shoes by the door, what do you have for a coat? >> Yeah, move to the front. >> Do you have any weapons or anything sharp in here? >> No. >> Move to the front. I'll explain everything in a second, okay? Do you have a jacket or something? We're going to be going outside. >> I swear >> On the >> On the On the chair? >> Yeah, the one on the chair. >> Jeremy, do you got any uh shoes? >> I think they're by the door. >> You good? >> Mochi, it's okay. >> Ready? >> Yeah. >> Good. >> Should I grab my cell phone or what? >> Thanks. >> What time is it? >> Hey, Jeremy. >> All right. >> I'm Detective Gooch. I'm with the Sheriff's Department. >> Yeah, I'm going to call my [ __ ] lawyer. >> with my my van. >> Yeah, I'm going to call my [ __ ] lawyer. >> She just called them. I've already talked to her. >> Oh. >> Do you want a bottle of water? Do you want something to drink? >> Bring me the water. >> It's not like I said. >> Bring it over now. >> Well, we could take the handcuffs off you. How's that? Would that Would it be more comfortable? You're okay with that? >> Yeah, I'm not going to go anywhere. >> Oh, it's not like I >> We can Okay. Hey, Jeremy. >> I'm going to just take the collar off. >> Thank you. >> This one is Emma or Which one is this one? >> This one is Mochi. >> Mochi, and that's Emma? >> Yeah, Anna. >> Okay, I'm going to do that. >> Okay. >> doing here in the house? What? Okay. >> Okay, may I take the left one off? Just place it on the >> My wife is going to be coming up later. We just talked to >> She said what? >> It's just me and her. >> Both of them? >> It's a hard plastic seat. Should take a second to go through that. >> For the first time. >> Okay, well, I don't know anything about this, so you know. This is interesting. I'm going to tape here. >> What is that? >> I got to get the keys numbers so I can open that up, too. >> Oh, it's in the gift shop. >> Okay. >> With the residence secured, the detective continued speaking with Jeremy's wife, who provided more details about his devices, online activity, and the concerning behavior she had noticed leading up to the investigation. >> So, I can't ask a lot of questions this morning. I'll I'll help you guide you through all the questions you want to ask. >> Like, I don't know. Like, he told me he thinks some of this all started in 2020. How long has this been going on? Do we know? >> I only know as far back as August. >> Okay. >> I would suspect it's probably further than that. >> Okay. >> So, some of the things that have been >> [snorts] >> he's been using and doing, obviously he's been using Kik. There's been some exchanges of files, same with Instagram. >> [snorts] >> He's also been using a VPN. You know what a VPN is? >> Uh yes. >> Basically it blocks and privatizes your >> Yes. >> [snorts] >> Um unfortunately, he wasn't that um uh meticulous all the time. And what concerns me from my experience and what we've been doing I've been doing these type of investigations for 10 years. You have You might as well just see the whole thing. Um I I'm concerned it's going to be quite extensive extensive. Um you know, not just oh by one time download a file from a porn site. I mean, this has been repetitive. >> See, that's what I thought it was when he told me stuff like that and I thought we'd work through it. >> Look, what was he just telling you about things on the he's doing on the internet or >> Yeah. Like he couldn't stop it. Like it was just getting worse and worse. So, I kind of was wondering and he's having a relationship currently that she's like barely an adult right now. >> Is it too hot? Do I need to turn >> No, that's fine. She's barely an adult right now and I >> What kind of like an online relationship or >> No, an in-person relationship. >> How do you know about this? >> Um, Tinder. And I don't think she used quite truthful about her stuff but anyways, because I don't I actually have her phone number and I don't know. I've had some questions from the beginning about both their relationships, so. >> Okay. >> But >> Um Do you Do you have family here in the area? >> Yeah, but they were going to Sparta this weekend. >> Okay. What What I want you to think about We're not going to leave you empty-handed here. At some point when we come to the conclusion of this, I want you to hold a close somebody you can trust. Cuz you're going to need support, too. >> I already have I'm supposed to be going to go over >> Okay. >> support and unfortunately, he's right. His family is supporting me more than he's supporting them. >> Are they local then, too? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I had a feeling it was worse than what I was told to me. >> Do you know Do you or Do you have access to his phones or his >> computer? Uh, I don't know his passwords or anything. >> He doesn't allow you access to any of that? Okay. I assume he keeps them locked? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, he does And he currently has a Samsung? >> Yes. >> How long has he had that phone? >> 2 years, I think. Yeah, I think it was a 2-year-old phone. The last year. >> How long has he had his computer? >> Oh, ever since I met him. Since probably 2017. >> Any tablets, laptops? >> Yeah, but it's been dead for years. It's >> Is it his? >> Yeah. >> And he's had it for years? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> It should be in the closet up where our office is. But yeah, he was getting very paranoid this summer to the point it was scaring me. >> Paranoid how? >> Just he's like >> Of what? Like something like something like this? >> this with the And that happened and stuff like Especially cuz there was the the police whatever like surveillance thing up on the ridgeway. And that really like freaked him out. But I didn't know if there was something else going on either cuz I knew there was possibly >> There was a combination of There was a couple people down the road that were complaining about certain things, yeah. >> Yeah, I knew about them, too. So, I was kind of just like And he actually it's really funny cuz he knew about it, too. >> [snorts] >> 25 >> what he was paranoid about, so. >> 25 He's not going to have any choice now. He's going to have to do it now. >> I just don't know how >> And depending in you know on what we find and things like that, you know, obviously there's going to be criminal um >> charges >> charges and so Okay. >> All right, he'll be right back. Register is a 600. >> Well, those are things down the line, but we all You got to focus on the short term first, too. >> Okay. >> Both of you so >> That's what I mean. >> But I I know it sounds selfish, but right now you need to do what's best for you. >> I don't know what's best for >> That's where you have to reach out to your support network. >> it out. Yeah. >> I'm just going to hang up this phone, you know, get out of the car. >> Jeremy was originally charged with three felony counts of In March of 2026, he pleaded no contest to all three charges and was found guilty. Two months later, a judge sentenced him to 3 years in state prison, followed by 6 years of extended supervision, with all three sentences running concurrently.
